[Blaze] A Georgia convenience store clerk shot a "dirtbag" robbery suspect eight times, ending a wild police chase that started in Florida early Friday morning and concluded in Georgia.
What are the details?
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said it got a call around 3:30 a.m. about a man who robbed a Circle K gas station store in Palm Coast, demanding all the money in the register — about $90. According to an WXJT-TV video report, the suspect also grabbed items from the store and demanded the clerk give him a pack of cigarettes, add money to the pump so he could fill up his car with gas, and give him quarters so he could add air to his tires. And how would he have time to gas/air? Only if the clerk was incapacitated/dead
The sheriff's office said the suspect alluded to having a gun but never brandished it.
Authorities determined the suspect began driving north on Interstate 95, and then St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies spotted the vehicle, officials said.

Once Florida's permitless carry law takes effect July 1, skells like this won't have to drive all the way back to Georgia to be shot.

It seems like, he could have executed his felonies more effectively with better planning. Next time, take care of the low tire pressure before you rob the store. As for returning back into the second stomper to re-Rob it that never works. They know your coming.

"And these paper towels to check my oil...and this jug of washer fluid. And a premium car wash. And this chuckwagon sandwich. And this lamp, that's all I need!"
And how would he have time to gas/air? Only if the clerk was incapacitated/dead
[Variety] Singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, the Canadian folk music laureate who crossed over to major pop fame in the U.S. during the ‘70s, died Monday evening at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. He was 84 years old.
Lightfoot’s death was confirmed by his longtime agent, Victoria Lord.
Lightfoot rose to prominence in the mid-‘60s, penning such folk standards as “Early Morning Rain” (a major hit for the Canadian folk duo Ian and Sylvia Tyson), “For Loving Me” and “Ribbon of Darkness,” as well as the ambitious “Canadian Railroad Trilogy,” a sort of Northern equivalent to Mickey Newbury’s “American Trilogy.”

When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck
Sayin', "Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya"
At 7 p.m. a main hatchway caved in
He said, "Fellas, it's been good to know ya"

[MAIL] The New England Journal of Medicine has been strongly criticized for publishing an academic paper calling for medical students to be taught in racially-segregated groups, with the idea condemned as 'morally abhorrent'.
The article, written by seven academics, doctors and students at the University of California, San Francisco, was published by the esteemed journal on April 27.
It calls for 'new approaches' to teaching - namely, dividing students based on the color of their skin.
'The approach tailors areas of focus to each identity group to supplement and differentiate the education received in racially integrated spaces, enabling participants to progress more effectively through the next stages of learning,' the authors write.
They argue that segregating students - 'as part of a broader antiracism and antioppression curriculum' - allows different groups to discuss their own experiences without fear.

This is not apartheid, it's simply a tool to systematically adjust established performance standards to accommodate the historically oppressed. The graduation diplomas will of course be identical.
If there were no white students, this would take place automatically.

Medicine is the new battlefield. Our county just today launched mental health services reserved strictly for black residents ( citizenship not required)

What Next?
Doctors of certain racial backgrounds can't be sued for Malpractice by certain other races?
Or, how about the US -Taxpayers will provide them FREE Malpractice Insurance?

Maybe it is the area where I live but the brown medical doctors that I run into have last names like Patel. I suspect that New England Universities are not churning out high numbers of African American doctors. This article seems more on the theoretical side.

Let's just spraypaint a Star of David on it. Then, everyone arguing against apartheid will suddenly be arguing for it, and vehemently saying that integration of races is a bad thing.

So glad we no longer live in the dark ages of child sacrifice, trinkets to prevent illness, medical experimentation on the mentally ill, and racial segregation.

If I remember correctly the black students at several Ivy League schools have been demanding segregated dormatories.

^ Hell, they don't even have to denad it, the Universities are falling all over themselves to do this and all sorts of segregated goodness. One of the reasons Sonoma County gave for segregated mental health care was "racial terror". I saw the SoCo email that was sent out. We can see what's coming.

[WIRE] Officials in Illinois said on Monday that multiple people were killed after 40 to 60 cars and at least 20 commercial vehicles crashed in a dust storm.
ABC7 Chicago reported that over 30 people were injured and several people were killed from the string of car accidents on I-55.
"I-55 is shut down both south and northbound I-55 from milepost 63 to 80 at this time due to a large crash," Illinois State Police said in a statement. "Traffic is being diverted onto the frontage road."
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) said in a tweet that the crash was "caused by a dust storm, which has greatly reduced visibility." Aggravated by high-speeds, inattention, and stupidity.
"I-55 traffic is being detoured via Illinois 104 and Illinois 48 through Taylorville," IDOT added.
[NYPOST] Bud Light posted a "countrified’ YouTube ad that showed young beer drinkers frolicking in the rain at a country music festival — but has disabled user comments amid continued backlash over its sponsorship deal with Dylan Stench of Death Mulvaney ...the transexual influencer who single-handedly trashed a major American beer brand owned by a Belgian company, tainted Maybelline, and then demanded that anybody who called him/her/it a man be arrested... The 30-second ad — which kicks off a major advertising blitz by the beer giant in the wake of its ill-fated tie-up with the 26-year-old transgender influencer — first aired during prime time coverage of the NFL Draft last week on Disney-owned ABC and ESPN.
The spot shows four people — a man and three women apparently in their early-to-mid 20s — popping open a can of Bud Light as they rush to get out of the rain.
While the actors scurry for cover though what looks like a mountainous outdoor venue in the Western US, a song by the Zac Brown Band is heard playing in the background.
"Rain or shine, it’s always easy to enjoy a Bud Light," the company said in the caption of the YouTube clip.
As of Monday, the clip generated more than 26 million views, but just 272 likes. Notably, the comments section under the YouTube clip was turned off.
Meanwhile, ...back at the hanging, Butch continued with his last words, trying not to repeat himself too often...... Bud Light continued to face heat on Twitter for the deal with Mulvaney, a transgender influencer with 10 million followers on social media.
"A commercial that shows cowboys & cowgirls at a rodeo where it’s started to pour down rain while the Zac Brown Band plays ’Chicken Fried’ is Bud Light’s latest commercial. Real smart, piss off that demographic, then cynically try to lure them back with this. Don’t fall for it," one Twitter user wrote.

Sounds like even the bots are not supporting the commercial.272 is a low number of likes. You would think they could “encourage” more than 272 employees to like the ad.

[NYPOST] Women’s magazine Allure’s move to name controversial trans influencer ...the transexual influencer who single-handedly trashed a major American beer brand owned by a Belgian company, tainted Maybelline, and then demanded that anybody who called him/her/it a man be arrested... to its annual "A-list" prompted calls for a boycott of the publication’s parent company, Condé Nast.
Mulvaney — whose tie-ups with Bud Light and Nike have sparked an outcry in conservative regions of the country — posted a series of photos on her Instagram account over the weekend showing her posing for a photoshoot.
"Getting my groove back," Mulvaney wrote in the caption of her Instagram account over the weekend.
"Thank you Allure for this fab shoot/putting me on the A-list!!"
Allure highlighted Mulvaney — who has more than 10 million followers on social media — as one of the "people driving and shaping the future of beauty."
He is not beautiful, merely an artistic hand with cosmetics and a fondness for playing Dress Up like a Mad Men girl.
The magazine — owned by the company with famed titles including Vogue, Vanity Fair and the New Yorker — also interviewed Mulvaney for its latest issue.
One Twitter user expressed outrage over Mulvaney "being named an ’honoree’ for the magazine’s ’A List Awards’ for being an ’innovator’ for women."
"This HAS to STOP. Keep boycotting any products associated with this propaganda," wrote another Twitter user.
Conde Nast stopped printing Allure, which was launched in 1991, at the end of last year.
Alternate headline: Dying Mag Features Dress-Up Gag.

Regulators seized the bank on Monday and a deal to sell its assets was struck
San Francisco-based First Republic had total assets of $229.1 billion as of April 13
First Republic Bank has been sold to JPMorgan Chase after regulators seized it on Monday, making it the third major bank to fail in two months.
The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) said it closed the San Francisco-based bank and agreed on a deal to sell its assets after it had failed to come up with a workable rescue plan.
DFPI appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as a receiver, and said it accepted a bid from JPMorgan Chase Bank to assume all deposits.
JPMorgan will take on the majority of assets and other liabilities but will not assume control of First Republic's preferred stock or corporate debt.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation said in a statement: 'To protect depositors, the FDIC is entering into a purchase and assumption agreement with JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association, Columbus, Ohio, to assume all of the deposits and substantially all of the assets of First Republic Bank.'
Last week, First Republic disclosed that it had lost more than $100 billion in deposits in the first quarter, causing its shares to plummet.

I don't mind if a bank gets "enriched" as long as "the little guy" doesn't get screwed in the end (e.g., bail-ins, higher taxes or fees, problems accessing one's account).
[OneOndia] New Delhi is no mood to toe the line of the Chinese that everything along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh is normal as the stand-off enters its fourth year.
The border continues to remain unstable with tensions between the two sides high. The border row erupted in the open with a skirmish between the troops at Pinging Lake. Bilateral ties further dipped when a brutal clash took place at the Galwan Valley in which resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers. China maintains that the casualties on its side as four, although some reports say that the toll was much higher.
There have been several rounds of military talks that had been held since the border row began. But many issues are yet to be resolved. The last round of talks held on April 23 yielded no results.
China on the other hand has sought to build a narrative that the situation in Ladakh is generally stable and both nations should move towards normalisation of ties. During the last meeting between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Chinese counterpart, General Li Shangfu, it was made clear that there cannot be normal ties until there is complete disengagement along the LAC.
China however said after the meeting that the border is 'generally stable.' The Chinese defence minister also said that the two sides should place the border issue in an appropriate position and promote the transition of the border situation to the normalised management.
India however holds the position that the ties can never be normal until the border row is resolved. In recent times, China has been also upping the ante at the borders along the northeastern states. The recent clash at Tawang is an example of this.
The last known development along the LAAC was when the People's Liberation Army (PLA) pulled back troops from Patrolling Point-15 in September 2022. This was the fourth disengagement since the border row erupted in May 2020.
There has been disengagement at Galwan Valley, Gogra and Hot Springs and Pangong Lake. Despite this both sides still have over 60,000 troops each and advanced weaponry deployed in Ladakh.
The two sides are still negotiating a pull back at Depsang in Daulet Beg Old sector and Charding Nullah junction. At the last military commanders meeting, two sides only agreed on maintaining security and stability along the LAC, while continuing dialogue through both military and diplomatic channels.
During his meeting with Li, Rajnath Singh had raised the issue and pressed that the violation of the border management agreements has eroded bilateral ties. Singh also said that all issues at the LAC need to be resolved in line with bilateral agreements and commitments.
