As someone that has worked for the DoD in that exact field, I can tell you that is utter bullshit. They can track pieces of satellites that broke up. A warhead is easy.

And more sensitive than that and a lot smarter. Combine that with the radars on the ground that can pretty much see all of the norther hemisphere, nothing can get off the ground larger than a jet that isn't tracked and detected.
