Afghanistan
Amnesty Int’l: Alleged rape by Taliban members must be investigated and prosecuted immediately
“Know yourself to be conquered, body and soul, peasants!”
[Amnesty] Responding to reports in local media yesterday on the alleged horrific rape of a woman and her two minor daughters in Sar-e-Pul
...a city and eponymous province in northern Afghanistan, population about 500,000. Demographically it is majority Tadjik and Uzbek. There are small Pashtun, Arab, and Hazara communities, of which the Hazaras mostly don't bother anyone...
province in Afghanistan on the night of 28 February 2023, Zaman Sultani, regional researcher for South Asia at Amnesia Amnesty International, said:

"The emerging details of the gang rape of a woman and her daughters allegedly by members of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
are a horrific new low in the abysmal record of human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
violations witnessed in today’s Afghanistan. The Taliban as the de facto authorities must condemn the incident and immediately launch an independent, transparent and impartial investigation into the allegations. The perpetrators must be prosecuted and punished as per international human rights law and standards in fair trials and without recourse to the death penalty
.
"Since they seized power in August 2021, the Taliban have violated women’s and girls’ rights and decimated the system of protection and support for those fleeing violence; such the Ministry of Women Affairs (MoWA), Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) and the Law on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (EVAW) as also the specialized prosecution units and courts dealt with cases involving violence against women and girls.

"The fresh allegation of sexual violence perpetuated by members of the Taliban raise concerns and yet again drive home the need for swift action by the de facto authorities to investigate abuses, bring those responsible to account through fair trial in a civilian court without the recourse to capital punishment. At the same time, survivors of sexual violence must be provided with access to justice, healthcare and support services, and effective and holistic reparations that are proportional to the gravity of the harm suffered."

BACKGROUND:
The alleged rape took place on the night of 28 February 2023 at Khanaqah village, Suzma Qalah District of Sar-e-Pul province in Afghanistan. As per the victim’s account in a video shared in local media, the incident took place when the survivors were alone in the house and allegedly two Taliban members forced their way into the house at 11pm.

Daily Evacuation Brief March 11, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • AN EXPLOSION OCCURED FRIDAY EVENING IN KABUL – The blast took place at approximately 2100hrs local time near the Spin Kalay traffic intersection. The Taliban checkpoint that has stood at this circle since September of 2021 was targeted and 3 Taliban security forces personnel were killed while another 4 were wounded. The Afghanistan Freedom Front claimed responsibility for the attack and reputedly used an IED to target the Taliban. Police leaders from Police District 5 say an investigation has begun and claimed to be looking for a white Toyota sedan that is thought to be associated with the attack.

  • EXPLOSION IN JALALABAD RATTLES CITIZENS, GAS CYLINDER TO BLAME – A blast close to the bus station (near the Gomrak Mosque) was reported on Friday evening. The blast was eventually discovered to have come from a propane tank that had ignited. Residents of the city panicked and there were some injuries reported from people attempting to flee from the area after the blast. However, no deaths or injuries directly related to the explosion were reported.

  • FAMILIES OF 8 SLAIN IN MAZAR-I-SHARIF CLEARING OPERATIONS PROTESTED AT UNAMA – Some family members of the 8 men who were slain in a recent security operation in Mazar-i-Sharif protested in front of the UNAMA headquarters on Friday. The Taliban characterized the men as ‘kidnappers’ and ‘rebels’ after the operation had concluded and a series of photographs were released that show the men surrounded by weapons. However, the weapons in the photos were extremely clean and many have opined the scene looked as if it had been staged. A source who was present for the operation said that he did not witness any return fire from the home where the men were killed. The family is calling for an investigation and said the young men were involved in a business and had no criminal past.

  • SEVERAL TALIBAN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES IN BALKH PROVINCE QUESTIONED ABOUT BOMBING OF GOVERNOR’S OFFICE – GDI agents and police have been questioning employees of the Provincial government offices in Mazar-i-Sharif over the bombing incident. A man who was scheduled to work, but had called in sick was being sought after. Apparently, two of the employees have been detained and are undergoing more thorough interrogation in the matter. In addition, four of the security personnel who were responsible for guarding the building have had their weapons taken from them and may be ejected from the force.

CONFLICT TRACKER
Kabul: A team of AFF (Afghanistan Freedom Front) Resistance fighters claim to have detonated an IED near a Taliban checkpoint in Police District 5 of Kabul. The targeted checkpoint was located near the Spin Kalay intersection. 3 Taliban were thought to have been killed in the blast and 4 more are reportedly injured.

NEXT 24 HOURS
SUSPECT IN BALKH GOVERNOR’S DEATH SOUGHT IN MAZAR-I-SHARIF – A source with access to the investigation into the death of the Governor says that GDI agents have been given several names from anonymous tips and that one of the names is a known ISIS-K collaborator who is thought to be staying in one of the Police Districts near the airport. Source said that two houses and one apartment building were currently under surveillance and a response team is staged and ready to act if the individual is identified. At-risk Afghans residing in Mazar-i-Sharif are advised to avoid the areas around the airport if at all possible.
Update from Khaama Press at 11:55 a.m. ET:
Afghan Freedom Front claimed responsibility for an attack on Friday late evening in Kabul that killed three and wounded four members of the Taliban, the group stated.

The Freedom Front, which is said to be made up of members of the security forces of the previous government of Afghanistan, on Friday claimed in a statement the responsibility of the attack in the “Spin Kelly” intersection in the fifth district of Kabul city.

According to the statement, the attack occurred around 8:40 local time on Friday night. As a result, four members of the Islamic Emirate were killed, and three members were injured.

But, the Islamic Emirate confirmed the explosion at the “Spin Kelly” intersection in the fifth district of Kabul city and said that two people were wounded only.

However, Khaled Zadran, the spokesman of the Kabul police, has not said anything about the attack on Freedom Front but only confirmed the occurrence of an explosion.

Death Toll Rises To 36 In ISWAP Terrorists&39; Attack On Fishermen In Borno

The corpse count in the latest attack by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of the West African (ISWAP) Lions of Islam on fishermen in Borno State has risen to 36.

Earlier reports suggested that 26 persons died after the forces of Evil attacked fishermen on the field at Makdolo, a border between Gamborun and Dikwa on March 8, 2023. However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
latest figures show that more deaths were recorded in the early hours of Thursday, Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert disclosed.

Some of the victims were buried on Thursday.

Boko Haram
...the name means Western education is forbidden, They're what you get as the result of a traditional African or Islamic education...
has increasingly targeted farmers, herders and loggers, accusing them of spying and passing information to the Nigerian military. They have also been raiding herding communities and stealing cattle, a valuable commodity in the region to fund their operations.

In 2020, the Lions of Islam invaded a rice plantation in Zabarmari, a community in the Jere Local Government Area, killing at least 43 farmers.

Boko Haram and its offshoot, Islamic State West Africa Province, have become more ferocious in recent times.

The United Nations has urged the Nigerian government to investigate the killing of over 30 fishermen and farmers by suspected terrorists on Wednesday in the Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Mathias Schmale, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, which noted that several people were injured while others were missing during the attack by the armed group.

SaharaReporters reported on Thursday that the victims were shot dead in an attack by suspected Islamic State of the West African (ISWAP) militants in the Gamborun Ngala area of Borno.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert disclosed this in a series of tweets.

According to Makama, the farmers were killed while fishing and fetching firewood in Mukdolo village, located about 19 kilometres north of Dikwa Town.

According to the statement, international organisations who condemned the attack also expressed their condolence message to the victims.

The statement reads: “The United Nations strongly condemns the reported ambush and brutal killing of more than 30 civilians in Mukdolo village in Ngala Local Government Area in Borno State yesterday. Several people were also reportedly injured, and others are still missing following the deadly attack allegedly carried out by an armed group.

“On behalf of the United Nations, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wish the injured who are recuperating a speedy recovery.

“The victims of this heinous attack were fishermen and farmers eking out a livelihood in a very insecure environment. They included both internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host community members from the neighbouring Dikwa Local Government Area.

“This deeply shocking attack is another horrific reminder of the real threats of violence and insecurity that IDPs and other people affected by more than 13 years of the non-international armed conflict in the region continue to face daily in their struggle to survive. The village of Mukdolo had been abandoned prior to the attack due to the activities of non-state armed groups.”

ISIS claims responsibility for DR Congo attack
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) city of Mukundi on March 10, Reuters reported.
That’d be the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), one of several murderous Muslim groups in the eastern DRC.
Recall that at least 40 people died as a result of this attack. The attack took place on the night of March 9. Local authorities blamed the attack on rebels who are associated with ISIS (an organization whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation).

As REGNUM reported , in mid-January, terrorists staged an explosion in a Protestant church in the northeast of the DR Congo. The incident claimed the lives of five people.

German man arrested for planning terror attack in Frankfurt
[DW] An 18-year-old man has been arrested near the German-Austrian border on suspicion of planning a terror attack in Frankfurt. The German national had been under investigation since summer 2022.

German authorities on Thursday announced the arrest of an 18-year-old German national, for allegedly planning to carry out an Islamist-inspired terror attack in Frankfurt.

The public prosecutor's office in Frankfurt and the Federal Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden said that the suspect — who is of Moroccan descent and who grew up in Germany — had also intended on traveling to Iraq to join the co-called "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
" (IS) terror group.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED IN SUMMER OF 2022
According to a joint statement, the man from the Hochtaunus district in Hesse, had been under investigation since August 2022.

Police accuse the suspect of planning an attack using an automatic weapon in Frankfurt, with the intent of harming as many people as possible.

Authorities say the man also allegedly researched the construction of explosive and incendiary devices on online and had made inquiries about the use of remote detonation mechanisms.

He had also obtained a long stabbing weapon, which he kept in his parents' garage.

In August 2022, a search warrant was executed at the suspect's home, during which computer storage devices were seized.

Media stored on these devices included images of the "Islamic State" flag and "ideologically charged images of fighting and executions," according to the joint statement.

Investigators said they did not arrest the suspect at that time because there was no concrete evidence the suspect was planning an Islamist terror attack.

ARREST MADE AS SUSPECT ATTEMPTED TO LEAVE GERMANY
Authorities believe the man postponed his plans to carry out the attack in Frankfurt, due to fear of being discovered. They also believe he had failed to get hold a firearm because of a lack of funds.

It is then believed the man planned to leave for Iraq on March 8, 2023 to join IS, or at least what little remains of the "Islamic State" in Iraq.

Police swooped on Wednesday as the man traveled by car in the direction of the German-Austrian border. Special units of Frankfurt police took him into custody at a freeway service area near Passau.

He is due to appear before a magistrate in Frankfurt on Thursday

It’s Official: France, England Agree to Prevent Migrant Crossings in English Channel
They were negotiating two days ago, now they’re done.
[KhaamaPress] La Belle France and England have agreed to prevent the illegal entry of migrants colonists to England through the English Channel (Canal de la Mancha), for which England will have to pay La Belle France $577 million in three years.

As part of a new agreement, the United Kingdom will pay for the expenses of a detention center in La Belle France, and Gay Paree will deploy more human forces and advanced technology to patrol its shores.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, the gondola was dangling by a single thread of rope.

Jack! Cynthia cried. I just realized I'm afraid of heights! I don't even like high heels!...

both French and English officers will seek to cooperate with their countries that are on routes of smugglers and human traffickers.

A British official says that London will have to pay €30 to La Belle France to cover the financial expense of the detention center in the next three years.

The official further added that detained migrants colonists would be deported to their home countries, and if their countries are not safe due to war and political unrest, they will be returned to the last destination they have crossed on their way to the UK.

The agreement was achieved between British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron, during Sunak’s official visit to Gay Paree.

Rishi Sunak has set the prevention of illegal migrants colonists to the United Kingdom as one of the priorities of his government. In February, he reached new agreements with Brussels on the matters of Northern Ireland.

Britannia’s Prime Minister has recently introduced a new law that immediately rejects the asylum application of those migrants colonists who illegally enter to the United Kingdom through small boats. For the successful implementation of this plan, Rishi Sunak will need the cooperation of La Belle France to prevent the passage of refugees from Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, and other countries who want to enter the UK through the English Channel.

Boy arrested trying to reach Europe illegally with $30,000 cash in his pocket
I don’t know about you, dear Reader, but I’ve never had $30,000 in walking-around money. These are not your tired, your poor, your hungry masses yearning to breathe free.
[Dawn] A young boy attempting to reach Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
illegally via Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
was arrested on Friday from the border district of Chagai, according to an official.

Chagai Deputy Commissioner Hussain Jan Baloch told Dawn that relatives of the boy, Abdul Hakeem, informed the authorities that he bravely ran away from the house with some foreign currency with an intention of reaching Europe with the help of a Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
-based human trafficker.

Mr Baloch said Levies Force safely recovered the boy from Mashkail — a town near the Pakistain-Iran border in Washuk district — following a twelve-hour-long operation with the help of sources.

He said the money, which was around $30,000, has been returned by the trafficker to the family.
More scared of the family than of their own masters? Wow.
More than four agents from Karachi, Quetta and Washuk were involved in the case.

Mr Baloch said the boy identified the traffickers, especially the one based in Karachi.

The home department and the Federal Investigation Agency shall be approached to arrest the traffickers, especially those operating in Sindh.

The boy is currently in the custody of the Levies Force and will be handed over to the family after fulfilling legal formalities.

5 terrorists killed in intelligence-based operations in North, South Waziristan: ISPR
[Dawn] Five bad boyz were potted by security forces in intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out in North and South Wazoo, the military’s media affairs wing said on Friday.
Presumably they’re TTP or something related, though the article doesn’t say.
In a blurb the Inter Services Public Relations said: "On March 10, IBOs were conducted by security forces in North and South Waziristan districts. During conduct of the operations, five bad boyz were potted after intense fire exchange."

The ISPR added that weapons, ammunition and a "large quantity of equipment" were also recovered from them.

"Pakistain Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of our territory with an unflinching resolve," the statement said.

The exchange of fire comes amid a surge in terrorist activities across the country, especially in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, since the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban

Pakistain (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in November.

On Wednesday, six bad boyz were potted by security forces in an IBO in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel area.

Last week, a controller of jacket wallahs was killed and two suspected bandidos murderous Moslems were arrested during an IBO carried out by the security forces in North Waziristan’s Mirali tehsil.
The Afghan Digest points out:
Counter-terrorism operations in both North and South Waziristan resulted in the deaths of 5 men. The Pakistani military failed to disclose information about the terror groups the men may have belonged to.
But Khaama Press sez:
At least five Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militants have been killed in a special operation in North and South Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, the military announced in a statement on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the army was determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism from the country.

The statement also said that during the last three months, security forces had killed more than 150 terrorists in several special operations.

Security forces conducted 6,921 operations nationwide in the last three months, arresting at least 1,007 terrorists.

Only in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, around 1,960 operations have been conducted, of which 1,516 were area-domination operations, 301 were based on intelligence, and 143 were area-sanitization operations.

The statement read that only in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa were 89 militants killed, and 540 were detained due to security forces’ operations.

2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested 12 alleged terrorists, belonging to the banned al-Qaeda and Tehrik-e-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Pakistain (TTP), it said in a statement released on Friday.

The statement added that they were arrested during a "covert operation" from three cities of the province, including Lahore, from where three "terrorists" were arrested "nearby a sensitive area".

The CTD spokesperson said the "terrorist network wanted to conduct subversive activities in sensitive districts".

According to a report released recently by Pakistain Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), holy warrior attacks witnessed a surge in the month of February this year, but the resultant deaths were down as compared to January.

The report said Punjab witnessed four holy warrior attacks in which two people were killed and eight injured while 10 people were killed and 18 injured in three reported holy warrior attacks in Sindh.

Explosives and material used to make suicide jackets were also recovered from the alleged terrorists, the statement added.

The CTD said they were identified during the interrogation of 61 suspects. Investigations were under way after registering a case against them, it further said.

In the current week, 797 combing operations have been conducted, during which 159 suspects have been arrested, the CTD stated.

The CTD asserted: "No stone will be left unturned in making terrorist elements reach their end."

Iraq
Turkish forces target PKK in Kirkuk; one died two injured
[Shafaq News] On Wednesday, Turkiye targeted areas in the Kirkuk governorate where the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters are located.

PKK is designated a terrorist organization by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
, the United States, and the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
A local source told Shafaq News Agency that the Ottoman Turkish aircraft killed one and maimed two others without identifying to what party they belonged.

In turn, Ramak Ramadan, the Chamchamal district mayor, reported to our agency that a drone targeted the border village of Sedan, which resulted in the death of a citizen and the injury of two others.

The Ottoman Turkish military has regularly attacked rebel positions of PKK in the mountains of northern Iraq, where several thousand bandidos Death Eaters are believed to be holed up.

Since the first incidents between Turkey and the Kurdish bandidos Death Eaters more than three decades ago, about 40,000 lives have been lost.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
2 Arab Israelis turn selves in for driving killer to Tel Aviv
[IsraelTimes] Two Arab Israelis, residents of Ramle and Kuseife, turned themselves into police on Friday for driving the attacker to the scene. Their arrests were extended later in the day, police said.

Israeli troops raided the West Bank town of Ni’lin, 23-year-old Paleostinian Mutaz Salah al-Khawaja’s hometown, following the attack, taking measurements at his house in preparation for its demolition, and arresting his father and another family member, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Israel regularly demolishes the homes of Paleostinians accused of carrying out deadly terror attacks as a matter of policy.

Al-Khawaja had been twice nabbed
Please don't kill me!
in Israel.
Hamas claimed him as a fighter in its armed wing, and he had entered Israel illegally. One wonders if it will be discovered that his drivers are also Hamasniks, or if they just like being generally helpful to murderers.
He was rubbed out by four armed people, including two coppers who were at the scene, one of whom was off duty, law enforcement officials said. The other two were a civilian and a reserve military officer.

Two people severely injured in a terrorist shooting in Tel Aviv Thursday evening remained in very grave condition the following morning, doctors said.

Three friends in their 30s were maimed on Thursday night when a Paleostinian attacker shot up people outside a cafe on the corner of Dizengoff Street and Ben Gurion Street. He then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace while shooting at other people in the area, before he was killed in a shootout with coppers a short time later.

Or Asher, 32, was hospitalized at death's door at the emergency care ward at Ichilov Hospital, according to a Friday statement. A second man, Rotem Mansano, 34, was also at death's door and being treated in the emergency neurosurgery ward, doctors said.

Both victims were sedated and breathing through a respirator.

The third victim, Michael Osdon, 36, who suffered light to moderate wounds, was hospitalized in the plastic surgery ward.

Dr. Or Goren of Ichilov told Kan public radio that Asher was maimed in the neck. According to the doctor, Mansano and Osdon’s conditions were not life-threatening.

Osdon told news hounds that the three friends were on their way to a wedding when they were attacked.

"The terrorist fired, but I was able to move my head and evade the bullet, which hit my cheek. The terrorist fired another bullet at one friend, then the other. He tried to shoot me again, and then I ran to an ice cream store nearby to call rescue services," he told Channel 13 news.

"I was maimed relatively lightly. I am waiting for some cosmetic procedures. Please pray for my friends," he added.
Update from Legal Insurrection (via Instapundit), which has compiled some useful background for its readers, at 10:10 a.m.ET:
The gunman was identified as 23-year-old Mutaz al-Khuwaja, a twice-convicted terrorist and resident of the West Bank, who entered Israel illegally.

A video circulating on Twitter showed the family of the slain terrorist celebrating the news of his jihadist exploits with joyful hugs and loud chants of "Allahu Akbar."

The Israeli TV channel i24news reported the jihadist background of the terrorist:

Israeli authorities confirmed late on Thursday that the Paleostinian terrorist who perpetrated the shooting in central Tel Aviv was 23-year-old Mutaz al-Khuwaja. He was killed at the scene by an off-duty officer as he charged at police.

He was a resident of the West Bank town of Ni’lin. His father Sheikh Salah al-Khawaja, a senior Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, operative, said that he "was not informed of the plan by any official authority" but "heard on the news and saw pictures of my son." He and another one of his sons were arrested by Israeli security forces overnight.

Other videos posted on Twitter show Paleostinians in the West Bank town of Jenin — a known Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
(PIJ) stronghold — gathering together in spontaneous processions amid loud chants of "Allahu Akbar." The Jenin residents were seen handing out sweets on the streets and motorists honking their horns in a hideous display.

Much like the previous years, Israel is witnessing a terrorist wave in the run-up to the Moslem fasting month.

This Ramadan, Israeli defense analysts believe that Hamas and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) plan to drag the IDF and security forces into a protracted conflict and trigger a third intifada, a reference to the two previous waves of Paleostinian rioting and terror between 1987—1993 and 1999—2004.

"The terrorist organizations plan to step up attacks toward the month of Ramadan (March 22-April 20, 2023) as a catalyst for a third intifada," Israel’s leading Middle East expert, Yoni Ben-Menachem, noted in a recent article.

IDF: Palestinian teen who hurled firebomb at West Bank army post shot dead
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian teenager who allegedly hurled a Molotov cocktail at an army post in the West Bank was rubbed out on Friday evening, the military and Paleostinian health officials said.

The Paleostinian Authority health ministry said 16-year-old Amir Mamoun Odeh was shot in the chest on the outskirts of the West Bank city of Qalqilya.

A military spokesperson told The Times of Israel that the teen had approached an army post near the West Bank security barrier, close to Qalqilya, before hurling a Molotov cocktail at soldiers "from a close range."

The troops, "who felt in danger," shot up the teen, the spokesperson said, adding that the suspect was hit by the gunfire.

No soldiers were reported hurt in the incident.

A string of Paleostinian terror attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank in recent months left 14 Israelis dead and several more seriously hurt.

At least 77 Paleostinians have been killed since the beginning of the year, most of them while carrying out attacks or during festivities with security forces.

Protest group says ‘democratic values’ non-negotiable in any talks on overhaul; 30 cadres tied up as protesters block highway and airport for 2 hours while fighting police; 400 profs sign letter supporting gov’t
Scare quotes mine. The war of the Democratic Party against Israel continues apace. MQG is Antifa, and its cadres are paid agents of the U.S. State Department, happily demanding the complete overthrow of Israeli democracy to achieve their demands for the rearrangement of Israel’s homegrown system.
[IsraelTimes] The Movement for Quality Government in Israel insists on bill of rights, ’supremacy of the law’ and an independent judiciary as preconditions for negotiations with government

“We are the expression of outrage of youth in Israel who oppose turning the country into a dictatorship where only one branch of government has power, and in which the judicial branch’s ability to defend human rights is under attack,” said Keinan.
The Movement for Quality Government in Israel (MQG), one of the key organizations protesting against the coalition’s judicial overhaul program, on Thursday issued a list of firm conditions for entering into negotiations with the government for a compromise on the radical plans, which have sparked an unprecedented political crisis.

The organization’s head, veteran attorney Eliad Shraga, listed ten conditions, including the adoption of a constitution based on "the spirit" of the Declaration of Independence, and the passage of a bill of rights to ensure equality "in rights and obligations," as preconditions for a compromise solution.

He also insisted that negotiations cannot begin unless the government completely halts the legislative process for the bills it is currently driving through the Knesset to enact its far-reaching judicial reforms.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth had turned a paler shade of blue. Star-A-Star had struck again...
the architects of the government’s judicial overhaul plan, Justice Minister Yariv Levin and MK Simcha Rothman, both indicated that changes to the legislation they are pushing forward are possible, but continued to insist that they will not halt the legislative process despite the demands of the opposition.

Key coalition figures, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have criticized the opposition parties for refusing to enter into negotiations over the overhaul program so long as it is still in motion and accused them of making political hay out of the crisis.

The “grass-roots organizations”
...scare quotes mine...
behind the public protests have insisted, however, that all legislation be halted before dialogue can begin.

"This is the most important struggle in the history of the country," said Shraga at his organization’s protest tent outside the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
in Jerusalem.

"We will not conduct negotiations over the rule of law and the supremacy of the law. We will not compromise over democratic and liberal values," he continued, implicitly rejecting alternative proposals made of late as similarly damaging to Israeli democracy.

Among Shraga’s ten conditions were "a clear separation of powers" and the formulation of a system of checks and balances, an independent judicial selection committee that is not controlled by politicians, mechanisms to prevent someone on trial or convicted of serious crimes from serving in government, guarantees for the independence of the attorney general and government legal advisers, and a rejection of any expansion of authority for the state rabbinical courts.

Shraga said he presented his proposals and a draft constitution drawn up by MQG to President Isaac Herzog on Wednesday night.

Longtime legal activist muppet Shraga and MQG have been behind some of the most significant petitions to the High Court of Justice in recent years, including motions to have Shas leader Aryeh Deri removed from ministerial office and demanding that blanket military service exemptions for ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students be annulled.

Former Supreme Court justice Ayala Procaccia was also present at MQG’s Thursday event and insisted, like Shraga, that good-faith negotiations cannot be conducted while the government continues to move ahead with the legislative process for the judicial overhaul program, but added that both sides need to be open to negotiations.

"We will never agree to live in a country that is not just, fair, and human," said Procaccia.

Asked whether his list of conditions is too rigid as to preclude any possibility of negotiations with the coalition, Shraga insisted that the protest movement is simply unable to compromise on the principles he laid out.

"I am not able to compromise over the laws of liberal democracy — that’s my DNA," he said. "I am not playing their game. If they want a clash they’ll have a clash."

He said that if the judicial overhaul package will pass into law, his organization will appeal to the High Court, which will have to decide if it is constitutional. If it decides it is not, the results of such a constitutional crisis would then play out.

"They can decide if they want to accept the rulings of the High Court or not, if they want to break the rules of the game. We will not compromise on our values. That needs to be clear to anyone who is going to negotiate or bargain with the president, and I explained that to the president very clearly," said Shraga.

Speaking to Kan public radio on Thursday, the coalition’s Rothman said that the legislation "does not have to be passed as it is," but accused the opposition of failing to come to the negotiating table in order to agree on a compromise.

He denied that he had deliberately written an extreme proposal for the judicial reforms as a negotiating tactic, and insisted that he had simply adopted some of the proposals that gained support from right-wing parties in the previous governing coalition, such as Yisrael Beytenu and Gideon Sa’ar’s New Hope, which are both now in the opposition.

"I personally don’t think that we need to pass it exactly as it is written and as I proposed in the draft bill," said Rothman, who chairs the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee.

"You propose a thesis, the opposition raises the antithesis, and at the end of the day you get a synthesis," he said, adding that the legislation he advanced has already been amended in committee. "But to speak you need two sides, and what is happening at the moment is that we are doing this alone because the opposition is not conducting a serious debate."

Channel 12 reported on Wednesday that Rothman and Levin, the justice minister, were considering adopting some of the components of an alternative plan announced on Tuesday, but a spokesperson for Rothman would only say that the issue was "under discussion."

Levin’s office said changes to the bills currently being advanced were possible and that the legislation to give the government control over judicial appointments — the bill that is the furthest along the legislative path — would not look exactly the same as the version approved in a first Knesset reading last month.

Ziv Keinan, one of the founding members of the Kumi Israel (Arise Israel) organization, another key player in the anti-government demonstrations, told The Times of Israel that the protest movement would not agree to any negotiation while the government’s legislation was still being advanced.

He insisted that the bills be formally withdrawn from the Knesset in order to enable a dialogue process to begin.

"We won’t surrender to dictatorship and we won’t negotiate over how deep the dictatorship will be," said Keinan.

He said, however, that his organization did not have a specific plan drawn up or a list of demands in order to agree to negotiations, and that the protest movement in general was not trying to "dictate what should happen."

Keinan said change and amendments to the current legal and judicial landscape were possible as long as it was focused on a basis of "equality, justice, and peace for all inhabitants of the country," and on the needs of citizens, not politicians.

"We are the expression of outrage of youth in Israel who oppose turning the country into a dictatorship where only one branch of government has power, and in which the judicial branch’s ability to defend human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
is under attack," said Keinan.

Palestinian shot dead after allegedly entering West Bank farm with knives, IEDs
[IsraelTimes] A Paleostinian man was rubbed out by an Israeli civilian early Friday after breaking into a farm near the settlement of Karnei Shomron and trying to carry out an attack, the military said.

The Israel Defense Forces said the Paleostinian was spotted entering the Havat Dorot Illit (Dorot Illit Farm) in the northern West Bank, armed with knives and improvised bombs.

The suspect allegedly hurled two IEDs, one of which went kaboom!, before the owner of the farm shot him dead. The Rescuers Without Border emergency service said at least 10 IEDs were found in the area.

Troops searched the area to rule out any additional suspects, the IDF said.

Paleostinian officials named the alleged attacker as 21-year-old Abd al-Karim Badi al-Sheikh from the nearby town of Saniriya.
