#12 Cousins, Earl and Helen. Earl was a WWII vet and nearing 100. Helen was 95 and no longer mobile. Both shared a very nice mini-apt in a care facility. On my last visit to see them, Helen told me, "I'm not doing so good and we don't know a soul around here anymore. I'm ready to go."

#32 My father was totally grey at 19. Given that he was stretching toward the 5’4” height listed on his passport, and his boyishly round face, it must have given him the gravitas he needed as he dealt with the adult world — it was during the Great Depression, and he suddenly had to support himself at age 15 1/2.

I would have loved to have been grey that early — a young face with old hair is a stunning look — but sadly I take after my mother.
