#8 Every male member of my family on both paternal and maternal sides have served in the military. Covering all branches and every war. To include both sides of the civil war. Uncertain beyond that. That tradition has stopped with our children. Uncle Sam has squandered a dedicated resource, and I know that my family is not alone.

Viewing the US Army as a "conquering army" is the entire problem. It's not. It's for the defense of the USA. But - decades of neoconservatism and globalism have changed people's perceptions, especially in DC, and they do view the army's role as invading and conquering new territory. Much like Mussolini regarded his army.
