#4 While I agree with the stated IT Security concerns of IE. There are a lot of websites out there that seem to only work in IE is used.

Example: GA C-19V website can be viewed using IE, and Opera, but no data is displayed using FF.

#6 Well, you can still get to it from the taskbar search and it still opens, though it's a billboard for the "new" Edge browser now.

There's certainly been plenty of time for companies to migrate any proprietary sites or web apps they have that are based on IE, but anyone who has ever worked in corporate IT knows that doesn't mean it's been done.

Edge (based on Chromium) has an "IE mode." I have no idea how compatible it is, I have no exposure to the sorts of sites I described above.

#8 I paid for Netscape back in the day (before it was 'free') as it was SO much better than Exploder.

#11 The only time I used IE was to download a better browser after a clean install ... once.

#14 It's only one data point, but I switched from Firefox to Edge about two weeks ago and couldn't be happier. It just works.

#15 I'm a Windows Insider, been involved in every Windows beta program since ver 2.11 Ebge based on Chromium is 99% like Chrome less the gurgle tracking. I daily drive the dev channel builds and I have no problems with it. Haven't had to drop back to FF because of a site incompatibility in some time.

#16 Now MS should reach into their user’s computers and delete it. Otherwise, many will just continue to use it.
