#2 They wanted a formidable presidential nominee, someone who could check all the right identity politics boxes while stringing words together that were substantively meaningless while singularly inspiring.

That was El Bozo, they got what they wanted but couldn't consolidate it by coronating the Hilda-Beast.

To me this just shows how close we came to disaster and how fragile our republic is.

#6 Joe Biden was never meant to be the establishment's champion
And I don't believe he will be - I expect him to win the nomination (clearly lots of levers are being pulled to make that happen), but I think he will be replaced at the last minute by the Dem powers when he steps aside because he is 'sick.' His replacement? Best guess is Hillary - she would have won last time if she had not had to campaign, so this plan would let her run without campaigning.

#10 Perhaps Bloomburg/Biden or Hillary/Biden. Biden would be satisfied with the VP position where he has enough power to sniff and grope little girls and women freely, but not have to actually be responsible for anything.

#11 It's a gang of crooks and grifters and it's beginning to show. Clinton and Obama were crooks but they were charismatic crooks. That kind of charisma combined with the brains and stamina to run a presidential campaign is a rare commodity. Joe has none of it and Hillary has all the charisma of a rattlesnake. The only one in the bunch who has it is Bernie. He's honest too. He'll tell you straight up that he's gonna rip you off.
