Afghanistan
Afghan Forces, Taliban Face Off in 17 Provinces after Peace Deal
[ToloNews] A fresh spate of violence kicked off in at least seventeen Afghan provinces on Tuesday, a day after the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
announced they would resume military operations against the Afghan cops. The Afghan Ministry of Interior said there were 33 attacks by the Taliban and at least six non-combatants were killed in the past 24 hours.

The fighting between the two sides comes days after a weekslong Reduction in Violence (RIV) and a peace deal signed by the United States and the Taliban on Saturday. The peace deal outlined terms for the withdrawal of US and coalition forces from Afghanistan in exchange for a number of solid assurances by the Taliban, including that they cut ties to al-Qaeda and prevent Afghanistan from becoming a safe haven for terrorist groups. The deal, signed in Doha, coincided with a joint Afghan-US declaration in Kabul that mirrored the Doha deal in laying out plans for intra-Afghan talks and an eventual ceasefire.

#1  Whew! So glad this doesn't concern us any more!

The Afghan "government" was always a joke. They're an easy price to pay to get out of there. The whole of Afghanistan isn't worth a single more American's life. Not one more.

#2  Praise Allah Herb! It's not as if the plague of fundamentalist Muslims there tried to murder 50,000 human Americans on 9-11. Right?

On the other hand it was definitely the evil Christian West the inspired Muhammad's 610 AD call for global jihad. Right Herb?

Sure, but Al Qaeda had been sheltered in Afghanistan by the ruling Taliban ever since they fled Sudan.

Five #Afghan policemen die in a #Taliban attack on a security checkpoint near a copper mine
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Tuesday’s “heavy clash” killing five Afghan officers took place at a checkpoint at the Mes Aynak copper mine in Logar province, said Deedar Lawang, a spokesman for Logar’s provincial governor.

Hasib Stanekzai, head of Logar provincial council, told Reuters the policemen were soft targets during the early morning attack as they had no heavy weapons.

A senior US official said the attack was being investigated.

A spokeswoman for Afghanistan’s interior ministry said that in 24 hours, the Taliban carried out 33 attacks against Afghan forces in 16 provinces, killing six civilians. She did not say how many Afghan security force members had died.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian Army reaches agreement with Daraa militants
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has reached an agreement with the remaining bully boyz in the Daraa Governorate town of Sanamayn after 48hours of intense festivities.

According to a military source in Damascus, approximately 50 bully boyz that were part of a Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA) sleeper cell will be transported to northern Syria as part of the peace agreement.

The peace agreement was brokered by the Russian Armed Forces, who stepped in to mediate between the bully boyz and Syrian Army.

On Sunday, the Syrian Arab Army began an operation in Sanamayn clear out the remaining bully boyz that were holed up inside the town.

#2  short of that link:
Turkish troops are not withdrawing. Syrian army lost 3400 soldiers and those equipments only in certain place in 4 days. Turkish Army deployed 30000 soldier and ready spread the war all over the border.Syrian Army is not going to be handle when its spread and will loose much more

#3  I'm told that the US Government assesses these #Turkey claims to be accurate:

- 3 jets
- 3 UAVs
- 8 helicopters
- 135 tanks
- 86 artillery & MRLs
- 77 APCs
- 9 arms depots
- 5 AD systems
- 16 ATGM/mortars

That amounts to a HUGE loss for pro-#Assad forces; the effects will show.

Russian, regime strikes kill 12 civilians in Idlib
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] At least 12 non-combatants were killed when the Assad regime and Russian assaults targeted Idlib, a de-escalation zone in northern Syria, local sources said on Tuesday.

Russian and regime fighter jets hit Idlib city center, Binnish town and Sahil Roj region, the White Helmets, a civil defense agency, said.

It also said four children were among nine fatalities in rocket attack hitting Idlib.

According to Syrian opposition groups' aircraft monitors, the attacks killed a civilian in Binnish.

Idlib is currently home to 4 million civilians, including hundreds of thousands displaced in recent years by regime forces throughout the war-torn country.

In recent months, nearly 1.7 million Syrians have moved near the Ottoman Turkish border due to intense attacks by forces of the Assad regime and its allies.
