#2 Glue,oozing from the seams, discolored the black plastic. It seemed ungainly alongside the fighter planes in my collection, and I threw it away.

The SR-71 is designed so that it leaks fuel when cold. The seals tighten up when it gets up to speed and the airframe heats up.

#3 I saw Shul give this talk a few years ago. He's a great story teller and an accomplished aviation photographer--he started his 2nd career taking photos during SR-71 flights. He's also a bad ass who came back from what should have been a fatal crash in Vietnam and continued flying.
