#2 AP - actually, Jacques keeps bringing the same dead fish to the table, smell and all. No one likes to smell two-year-old dead fish, nor a Frenchman carrying one. Chiraq at least knows where to look for his number one enemy - in the mirror.

#4 This is good to hear. I hope the Germans can become good friends with us again. Let bygones be bygones. Germany is much better than France in every way I can think of. Nicer people, prettier country, better soccer teams, better leadership... Time to get some German beer and celebrate. Viva la Germans! (or however you say that Viva thing in German).

#5 Reality struck me about our need for Germany when I noticed that all the wounded were going to Ramstein. I've seen there and been to Sigonella, Sicily. Some bases will stay no matter how many small quasi bases are built. Too much infrastructure to be rebuilt in Poland. Although many would ahve said the same about Subic Bay.

#9 However, Chirac didn't "run against" the US to get elected unlike Schroeder--so I consider him the bigger hypocrite! And after working for German companies for 10 years and interfacing with their management--if you Rantbourgeois think they have a higher opinion of us than the French do I got some bad news!
