#1  How can bubbles be avoided?

1.Pressure. A reduced pressure gradient is preferable to a high one.
2.Temperature. It is better to keep the whole microfluidic set-up at a constant temperature.
3.Time. The shorter the time, the less probabilities of bubbles growing to the point of altering one's photo.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief March 7, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • HERAT COUNTER-ISIS OPERATION CALLED INTO QUESTION – Many are now questioning whether the Herat security operation that purportedly targeted an ISIS-K cell was faked. There are rumors that suspected ISIS-K detainees had been transported to the house and then executed. ISIS-K has released both documents and an audio file claiming the raid had been staged. Apparently, a video file has been received that shows Taliban security personnel unloading four men and herding them into a house (presumably in Herat). ISIS-K then threatened the Taliban and said that a ‘countdown’ had started.

  • DEADLY BALOCHISTAN BOMBING KILLS AT LEAST 9 PAKISTANI POLICE – Reports suggest that a suicide bomber on a motorcycle rammed a Pakistani bus that was transporting police and detonated his device. At least 9 are dead and 13 are said to be wounded. The attack occurred at approximately 1000hrs local on Monday in Bolan (on the Kambri Bridge crossing). No group has yet claimed credit for the attack but there are fears that the Balochistan Liberation Army has established an agreement with the TTP and is coordinating attacks such as these. UPDATE: ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack according to SITE Intel Group.

  • STRANGELY, FEMALE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES HAVE BEEN ISSUED REGISTRATION FORMS FOR THE UNIVERSITY EXAMS – In recent proclamations, the Kankoor (university acceptance test) had been restricted to only male students. However, female students who have recently graduated high school report receiving the registration forms for the next testing phase. It is not clear if there was a technical oversight and the forms were distributed by mistake or, if there has been a change of policy.

  • RUSSIA, IRAN, AND PAKISTAN SIGN $1 BILLION DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH TALIBAN – Russian media began reporting the deal had been struck between private businesses and investors from all three countries and the Taliban on Monday. The majority of the projects are reputedly focused on infrastructure improvements.

  • SOME MALE STUDENTS IN BALKH PROVINCE BOYCOTT UNIVERSIT CLASSES IN SOLIDARITY WITH BANNED FEMALE STUDENTS – Male students in the Languages and Literature department at Balkh University announced they were boycotting classes in protest to the ban on female students.

  • TALKS AT IRANIAN AND AFGHANISTAN BORDER CLASH SITE ONGOING – Taliban and Iranian border officials discussed the recent clash at the border and were seeking ways to lower tensions. It is still not clear what transpired to provoke the crisis.

NEXT 24 HOURS
FORMER PRIME MINISTER KHAN TO BE ARRESTED – After a Pakistani court upheld the arrest warrant for former PM Khan, it is believed that police will take him into custody soon. While some of his supporters could use the event to protest, we do not believe it will be widespread and feel that the danger posed to at-risk Afghans in Pakistan is low.

in the Afgoye district, approximately 30Kms south of the capital.

After hours of firefight, the SNA pushed back the attackers and maintained their presence in the bases which protect the town from the attacks, according to the military sources.

The al-Shabaab attackers lost several combatants in the battle with the SNA in Afgoye that comes amid stepped up military pressure on the hard boy group from multiple-fronts.

The public transport and people’s movement were up and running on Monday morning with the government forces secured whole town following the overnight ambush assault.

The number of the casualties still remained unclear as both sides did not releases any statement regarding the fighting. al-Shabaab often carried out such hit-and-run attacks in Somalia.

Over the last few months, (SNA) backed by clan-based militias and U.S. air support, have steadily made progress against Shabaab, al Qaeda’s branch in East Africa, across central Somalia.

Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said al-Shabaab is losing ground and the government is after the group to eliminate it from entire country before the end of 2023.

Somalia: SNA denies claims of ‘terrorist attack’ in Afgoye town

[ShabelleMedia] The command of the Somali military in the Lower Shabelle region termed "baseless" claims of an Al-Shabaab attack in Afgoye, a key agriculture town near the capital.

Abdirizak Ahmed, a senior army officer said no fighting or assault by the al-Qaeda-linked forces of Evil took place in the city on Sunday night, refuting the reports by some local media.

Early reports suggested that the SNA engaged in a shootout with Al-Shabaab after a simultaneous raids on bases in Mukuyga and Hanta-Dheere locations in the outer side.

The army repelled a coordinated attack targeting their camps by Al-Shabaab attackers, who later encountered losses at the hands of the government troops.

Mauritania: Four jihadists escape after jail break
[DW] Authorities are searching for a group of "terrorists" who escaped prison. Mauritania has largely been unscathed by the Islamist terrorism that has affected its neighbors in the Sahel region
... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas...
Four jihadist prisoners beat feet from prison in Mauritania's capital Nouakchott on Sunday night, killing two guards in the process.

Two other guards were maimed during a shootout that ensued, authorities said on Monday.

"The National Guard has tightened its control over the prison and immediately started tracking down the runaways in order to arrest them as soon as possible," Mauritania's Interior Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry described the escapees as "terrorists" but did not provide any further information.

A military official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the AFP news agency that two of the escapees had been sentenced to death, while the other two were awaiting trial for membership in a terrorist organization.

A DECADE WITHOUT TERRORIST ATTACKS
Mauritania has not recorded a jihadist attack since 2011, but it shares a long border with Mali where bully boy groups are active.

Over the past decade, the Mauritanian government has enlisted Moslem scholars to encourage jihadists to repent.

New towns were built in remote desert areas and vocational training was offered to young people in order to alleviate the dire economic conditions in which terrorist groups thrive.

Documents produced by the US government in 2011 suggested the existence of a secret non-aggression pact between Mauritania and Islamist groups, but the government in Nouakchott has denied this.

FBI: 4 Americans kidnapped in northern Mexico
[10 News] Four U.S. citizens have been kidnapped after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in the northern Mexico border city of Matamoros, the FBI said.

The four had entered Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas, on Friday. They were traveling in a white minivan with North Carolina license plates.

The FBI San Antonio Division office said in a statement Sunday that the vehicle came under fire shortly after it entered Mexico.

"All four Americans were placed in a vehicle and taken from the scene by armed men," the office said. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for the return of the victims and the arrest of the culprits.

Matamoros is home to warring factions of the Gulf drug cartel.

Shootouts in Matamoros were so bad that the U.S. Consulate issued an alert about the danger Friday.

Tamaulipas state police said people had been killed and injured Friday, but did not say how many or give details of the violence.

#5  2 of 4 found dead

Two of the four US citizens violently kidnapped in Mexico last week have been found dead and two others alive, officials announced Tuesday.

One of the surviving Americans was wounded and the other was unharmed, Tamaulipas Gov. Américo Villarreal said.

The foursome from South Carolina — identified as Latavia “Tay” McGee, Shaeed Woodard, Zindell Brown, and Eric James Williams — were abducted at gunpoint in broad daylight on March 3, shortly after they crossed the border from Texas into the border city of Matamoros in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas.

The group of friends had traveled to Mexico for a cosmetic medical procedure when they were shot at and forced into the back of a pickup truck, according to relatives.

Some observations about the capture video. Nobody is standing around gawking with a camera. They don't even get out of the vehicle to see what is the hold up. Vehicle front and center is trying to GTFO ASAP. So the only witness seems to be somebody in a second floor (?) window behind shutters, and they best hope the baddies don't trace the video back to their window, because it looks like the baddies have done that sort of snatch a number of times.

Europe
Germany: Police, protesters clash near AfD state conference
The Black Bloc-ers really don’t like true grassroots politicial parties, whatever that particular tentacle of the Black Bloc may call itself at the moment.
[DW] The festivities broke out between protesters and police around the far-right AfD party conference. Police said three police and two protesters were maimed.

Protesters and police clashed outside the far-right Alternative fur Deutschland (AfD) Baden-Wurttemberg state party congress in Offenburg in the southwest of Germany.

Various protests against the event had been organized for the weekend.

Police said three coppers and two participants were maimed with three people requiring a visit to the hospital, including one police officer, following festivities between demonstrators.

Twenty officers sustained light injuries connected to smoke inhalation as protesters set items on fire in one demonstration, Offenburg police said, but they were able to remain on duty.

WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THE FESTIVITIES?
During the demonstration, one individual sprayed a fire extinguisher at police.

German news agency DPA reported that police used their batons to halt a protest march while at the same time, police used loudspeakers to call on demonstrators to keep the peace. Offenburg police said the march was forcibly halted.

Police took down the details of more than 100 individuals and intend on investigating whether there is any possibility of criminal charges being brought against any protesters involved in the festivities.

Earlier in the day, demonstrations took place without incident at the main scheduled protest in the city center outside the Offenburg exhibition center, where the AfD conference was being held.

#1  (From FP) 10 years after the AfD’s founding..., The AfD has become both more successful and more radicalized in recent years. It has capitalized on a mix of anti-refugee sentiment, coronavirus skepticism, and economic insecurity to become the strongest party in two of five eastern German states and win double-digit support nationally. And it’s in places like Bautzen, this AfD stronghold of around 40,000 people in eastern Saxony, that the national parties’ commitment to isolating the AfD is breaking down.

Only 2 of the 23 Suspects Charged With Domestic Terrorism in ‘Cop City' Attack From Georgia
[LI] Cross-State Travel for Terrorism
Whenever something happens at the site of Atlanta’s future Public Safety Training Facility, most of the terrorists involved are not even from Georgia.

The Defend the Atlanta Forest group has been occupying the area for years. Confrontations have become the norm, but tensions escalated in January after a cop shot and killed one of the terrorists in self-defense.

The terrorists are still mad.

A violent confrontation between Antifa and cops on Sunday after the terrorists engaged in a preplanned attack on the construction site. From Fox 5:

Officials say around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, dozens of protesters left the nearby South River Music Festival, changed into black clothing, and entered the site of the controversial proposed police training center.

"This was a very violent attack that occurred, this evening very violent attack," Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum said near the scene.

A video released by Atlanta Police shows what appears to be fireworks aimed at officers. In the same video, you can see items including rocks and Molotov cocktails being thrown by protestors in the direction of police, a tipped-over vehicle that later became engulfed in flames, and protestors attempting to set other pieces of construction equipment on fire.

Schierbaum called the incident a "coordinated, criminal attack against officers."

Legal Observer Hit with Terrorism Charges After Mass ‘Cop City’ Arrests

[MSN] A legal observer with the National Lawyers Guild
...leftwing activist lawyers who hang back at Black Bloc actions to “observe” and provide legal services for those arrested...
was arrested and charged with domestic terrorism while monitoring a Sunday night demonstration against an Atlanta police training facility that opponents have dubbed “Cop City.”

Thomas Jurgens is an attorney with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), the civil-rights group confirmed on Monday. Jurgens also works with the National Lawyers Guild, which monitors protests. Jurgens was acting as a legal observer at the time of his arrest in Atlanta, the NLG said in a statement. He is one of more than 40 people charged with domestic terrorism in connection to protests against Cop City, raising concerns from civil liberties advocates.

“An employee at the SPLC was arrested while acting—and identifying—as a legal observer on behalf of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG),” the SPLC said in a statement. “The employee is an experienced legal observer, and their arrest is not evidence of any crime, but of heavy-handed law enforcement intervention against protesters.”

The proposed police training facility—a $90 million, 85-acre project on the current site of an Atlanta forest—has been the subject of long-running opposition from environmentalists, racial justice activists, and religious leaders. Tensions escalated at the proposed construction site in late 2022, when police began a series of arrests on domestic terrorism charges, even though many of the defendants are not accused of any illegal activity beyond misdemeanor trespassing, Grist reported at the time.
They’re watching these events from Germany, too. From Deutsche Welle:
Police arrested 35 people after they destroyed construction equipment at a training facility referred to as "Cop City." Environmental and anti-police protesters have attacked the site several times.

Officials in the southern US state of Georgia on Monday announced that 23 protesters, including a Frenchie and a Canadian, had been charged with domestic terrorism after Atlanta police arrested 35 people on Sunday.

Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum, who announced the initial arrests a midnight presser Sunday, said "violent mostly peaceful agitators" had launched a coordinated attack on police.

HOW HAVE GEORGIA POLITICIANS REACTED TO PROTESTS?
Sunday's festivities were the latest in a series of contentious stand-offs between authorities and protesters.

On January 18, a 26-year-old environmental activist muppet was shot and killed during a police raid to clear protesters from the woods. In the aftermath of the shooting, demonstrations spread to downtown Atlanta.

On January 21, a police cruiser was set ablaze and windows were shattered when rocks and fireworks were hurled at a downtown skyscraper housing the Atlanta Police Foundation.

Such protests have prompted Georgia state politicians to look at toughening laws and sentencing, for instance, by proposing that rioting be made a felony rather than a misdemeanor.

Those previously arrested during festivities at the site are being charged with felony domestic terrorism, which can carry sentences of up to 35 years.

Despite criticism of heavy-handedness, politicians are also looking at classifying domestic terrorism as a violent mostly peaceful felony. That would mean an individual's entire sentence would have to be served — even for first-time offenders who would not be eligible for probation — and parole could not be granted until at least 30 years of the sentence had been served.

Critics have voiced alarm over what they see as the criminalization of protesters, especially environmental and land-rights defenders attempting to block pipelines and protect woodlands and waterways, by labeling them eco-terrorists.

They say the breadth of the 2001 Patriot Act allows the government to put corporate profits before land stewardship and the public good with politicians criminalizing peaceful protest and using militarized police to violent mostly peacefully suppress it under penalty of harsh sentencing.

ATLANTA POLICE BRACE FOR FURTHER PROTESTS
Police on Monday said the Georgia Bureau of Investigations would be prosecuting those charged.

Beyond two foreign nationals, two of those arrested were Georgia residents. All others were from various states across the US, including Arizona, Massachusetts and New York.

The vast majority of peaceful protesters were Atlanta residents.

More demonstrations are scheduled for the coming days, prompting Atlanta police to release a statement reading, "With protests planned for the coming days, the Atlanta Police Department, in collaboration with law enforcement partners, have a multi-layered strategy that includes reaction and arrest."

8 policemen, one civilian martyred in suicide attack on Balochistan Constabulary van in Bolan
[Dawn] Nine individuals, including eight coppers and one civilian, were martyred in a suicide kaboom on a Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
Constabulary van in the Dhadar tehsil of the Kacchi district in Bolan on Monday.

According to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, the blast occurred at 10am on the Kambri bridge in the area bordering the Sibi and Kachhi districts.

He said the police van was returning to Quetta from Dhadar, where the Balochistan Constabulary personnel — a department of the provincial police force that provides security at important events and in sensitive areas, including jails — was posted for duty at a Sibi cultural festival.

"The van collided with a cycle of violence which was being driven by a jacket wallah. As a result, nine people were martyred, of which one was a civilian," Sanaullah said, adding that 13 people were maimed in the attack.

Three maimed persons, he went on to say, were at death's door. "We fear the corpse count will increase to double digits."

The minister said no organization had so far grabbed credit for the attack.

He stated that the injured people had been immediately flown to Quetta via a helicopter and the federal government was closely coordinating with the Balochistan government with regard to the martyred, their compensation and the medical treatment of the maimed.

Earlier, Kachhi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mahmood Notezai told Dawn.com that an emergency had been imposed at hospitals across Quetta.

He also said that bomb disposal squads and security personnel had arrived at the blast site and cordoned it off to collect evidence.
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) grabbed credit for the attack.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF prepares to demolish home of gunman who killed Israeli-American Elan Ganeles
[IsraelTimes] Troops operate in Aqabat Jabr refugee camp, hometown of suspected terrorist who carried out highway shooting last week; 14 wanted Paleostinians detained in overnight raids

The Israeli military made preparations early Monday morning for the demolition of the home of a Paleostinian man accused of carrying out a deadly terror shooting attack on a highway near the West Bank city of Jericho last week.

The suspected terrorist behind the killing of dual American-Israeli citizen Elan Ganeles on February 27 was arrested by troops on March 1, alongside another man suspected of being the driver in the attack.

During the attack, the gunman shot up Ganeles’s car on the Route 90 highway as he was heading to a friend’s wedding in Jerusalem, killing him, before opening fire at several other cars in the area.

On Monday morning before dawn, Israeli troops measured the suspected terrorist’s home — the first step before its potential demolition — in the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp, adjacent to Jericho.

Israel regularly demolishes the homes of Paleostinians accused of carrying out deadly terror attacks as a matter of policy. The efficacy of the policy has been hotly debated even within the Israeli security establishment, while human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
activist muppets denounce the practice as unjust collective punishment.

Clashes broke out in Aqabat Jabr amid the operation. Troops returned fire at a number of Paleostinians who hurled stones and Molotov cocktails, the IDF said, adding that several suspects were hit.

Paleostinian health officials said four men were hurt by the gunfire.

In separate raids across the West Bank overnight, the IDF said troops detained 14 wanted Paleostinians, suspected of involvement in terror activities.

In Nablus, troops detained three men and seized three M16 assault rifles, the IDF said.

The 14 suspects were handed over to the Shin Bet security agency for further questioning.

No soldiers were hurt in the raids.

In recent months, Paleostinian button men have repeatedly targeted military posts and troops operating along the West Bank security barrier, Israeli settlements and civilians on the roads.

Tensions between Israel and the Paleostinians have been high for the past year, with the IDF conducting near-nightly raids in the West Bank amid a series of deadly Paleostinian terror attacks.

Israeli forces were meanwhile still searching for the gunman who killed two Israeli brothers from the West Bank settlement of Har Bracha in the nearby Paleostinian town of Huwara on February 27.

A string of Paleostinian attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank in recent months left 14 Israelis dead and several more seriously hurt.

At least 64 Paleostinians have been killed since the beginning of the year, most of them while carrying out attacks or during festivities with security forces, but some were uninvolved civilians and others were killed under circumstances that are being investigated.

There has also been a rise in settler violence toward Paleostinians in recent months.

Shin Bet says it busted Turkey-based Hamas ring planning attacks in Israel
[IsraelTimes] Agency says West Bank Paleostinian student traveling abroad was recruited by terror group, instructed to enlist other relatives in suspected bombing plot

Four Paleostinians from the West Bank were detained in recent weeks over plans to carry out attacks on behalf of the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, terror group, the Shin Bet security agency said Monday.

According to the Shin Bet, Ahmed Mahmoud Abu Salah, 24, a student, was arrested several weeks ago after returning from studying abroad.

The Shin Bet said that while in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, Abu Salah was recruited by Hamas and carried out military training in Turkey and Syria.

The training included "weapons training and studying the manufacturing of explosives, in order to advance terror attacks against the State of Israel," the agency said.

Before returning to the West Bank, Abu Salah allegedly met with senior Hamas officials in Turkey, who instructed him to recruit others for a local cell to carry out terror attacks.

The interrogation of Abu Salah led to the arrest of three others, relatives of the main suspect, the Shin Bet said. Iyas Mahmoud Abu Salah, 20, Salah Mahmoud Abu Salah, 23, and Hassin Fauz Aqra, 25, all planned to carry out attacks, including a bombing attack, according to the Shin Bet.

Iyas Mahmoud Abu Salah and Hassin Fauz Aqra sought to join Hamas in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip at one stage, the Shin Bet said. The three additional suspects were also accused of hurling stones at coppers on the Temple Mount during Ramadan in April 2022.

The Shin Bet said the four were regularly in contact with a relative who lives in Turkey who is the son of a senior Hamas official there.

Abadah Abu Salah, the son of the senior Hamas member Salah Abu Salah (who is separate from the aforementioned Salah Mahmoud Abu Salah), worked "under the guidance of senior Hamas officials in Turkey," especially Saleh al-Arouri, who is regarded as the military commander of Hamas’s West Bank division, the Shin Bet said.

The agency said Abadah Abu Salah "took advantage of the family connection with the accused and their stay in Turkey for the purpose of studies, in order to recruit some of them."

Turkey has long had close ties with the Gaza Strip-based Hamas, and hosts terror group officials and units in the country. Jerusalem has also long pressed Ankara to crack down on Hamas’s activity in Turkey, arguing that the Gaza-based terror group uses its representatives there to orchestrate terror attacks against Israelis.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria says Israeli jets strike Aleppo airport, shutting it down
[IsraelTimes] According to reports, Israeli Air Force struck from Mediterranean Sea, inflicting damage to site; there were no immediate reports of injuries

The Israeli Air Force allegedly carried out an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
at the airport in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, according to Syrian state media.

There were no immediate reports of casualties, but Syria media said the airport has been shut down due to the damage sustained from the strike. According to the reports, Syria’s air defenses were activated but it was not clear if there were any interceptions. Syria regularly claims to intercept Israeli missiles, though military analysts doubt such assertions.

Short clips and photos allegedly from the site of the strike, circulating on social media, show a fire at the airport.

There was no comment from the Israel Defense Forces, in line with its policy of not generally commenting on air raids in Syria. Israel is believed to have carried out hundreds of strikes on targets inside government-controlled parts of Syria in recent years, including attacks on the Damascus and Aleppo airports, but it rarely acknowledges or discusses the operations.

Israel has acknowledged, however, that it targets bases of Iran-allied murderous Moslem groups, such as Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...The land area formerly occupied by the state of Lebanon, before that Phoenicia...
’s Hezbollah, which has sent thousands of fighters to support President Assad’s forces. Israel views Iran’s expansion throughout Syria as a continued threat to its national security, and has conducted these strikes across a broad range of targets in an effort to curb Iran’s forces in the region.

Syria’s state news agency SANA, citing a military source, said early Tuesday that "at 2:07 a.m., the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the Mediterranean [Sea]... targeting the Aleppo International Airport." The source said the airport sustained "material damage," and was not currently operating.

Aleppo, which suffered widespread destruction in Syria’s civil war, was heavily damaged in the deadly 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
and Syria last month. A number of countries have since sent aid shipments to the city’s airport, including Iran.

The last airstrike in Syria attributed to Israel was last month, when Syrian state media said an airstrike targeted a residential neighborhood in Damascus, killing five people and leaving 15 others hurt.

In January, the Syrian army said Israel’s military fired missiles toward the capital’s international airport, putting it out of service and killing two soldiers. That attack came amid Israeli fears the Damascus airport was being used to funnel Iranian weaponry into the country.

Late last August, Syria accused Israel of being behind two consecutive airstrikes at the Aleppo International Airport and a site near the Damascus Airport, as Israel was said to be ramping up its efforts to target airports to counter Tehran’s growing use of commercial flights to bring military supplies into the country.

A Western intelligence source and a Syrian military defector told the Rooters news agency in September that Tehran has taken to flying small weapons and other military supplies on regular civilian flights. Supplies transferred include precision-guided missiles, night vision equipment and UAVs, all of which are small enough to load onto civilian planes, they said.

Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
has increasingly relied on flights as its previous ground routes via Iraq have become unreliable amid local pie fights and internal conflicts, the report said.

Generally, relatively large weapons are thought to be smuggled via Syria on Iranian cargo airlines, which frequently land at Damascus International and the Tiyas, or T-4, airbase, outside of the central Syrian city of Palmyra.

The weaponry is then believed to be stored in warehouses in the area before being trucked to Lebanon.

Uneasy calm prevails outskirts of al-Sinaa prison in Syria’s Hasakah
[NPASyria] For the second day in a row, the security forces tightened measures in the vicinity of al-Sinaa prison, which holds Islamic State

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) detainees, in Hasakah, a governorate northeastern Syria.

A security source told North Press that received intelligence indicated a possible move by an ISIS sleeper cell to carry out attacks in the area.

North Press correspondent said security forces partially opened a road near the prison, and things seemed stable, both inside and outside the prison, with a state of an uneasy calm in the area.

On Sunday, a security source said, "The security measures in Hasakah are taken just in case something happens inside al-Sinaa Prison or in its vicinity."

These measures came in tandem with obtained information, indicating preparations for a possible mutiny in the prisons and in the Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah, which holds around 50.000 of the family members of ISIS Death Eaters, according to the security source.

On Jan. 20, 2022, the group’s sleeper cells carried out a series of attacks on al-Sinaa prison, where thousands of ISIS members were held, to set free their fellow inmates.

The prison attack sparked a 10-day battle between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and ISIS bully boyz and caused a mass exodus of residents of the neighborhoods of Guweiran, al-Zuhour, al-Nashwa, and Villat al-Hamr to the central and northern neighborhoods of Hasakah.

On Jan. 30 of the same year, the SDF announced taking full control of al-Sinaa prison.

On Jan. 31, the General Command of the SDF uncovered the toll of casualties of the ISIS attack, 374 ISIS bully boyz were killed, and 121 people, including 77 employees and workers of the prison, 40 SDF members and four civilians, were killed.

Russia, Turkey conduct 129th joint patrol in Syria’s Kobani
[NPASyria] Russian Military Police (MP) conducted on Monday a joint patrol with the Ottoman Turkish forces in the eastern countryside of Kobani, northern Syria.

This is the 129th patrol between the two forces in the region since the signing of the Russian-Ottoman Turkish ceasefire agreement in northeast Syria.

In October 2019, following the so-called Ottoman Turkish military operation "Peace Spring" in areas of northeast Syria which resulted in the occupation of Tel Abyad, north of Raqqa, and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) north of Hasakah, the Ottoman Turkish president signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US.

The ceasefire agreements stipulating halt of all hostilities there and the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) 30 kilometers in depth away from the Ottoman Turkish border in addition to conducting joint patrols with Russia in order to monitor the implementation of the agreements.

The patrol, which consisted of eight Russian and Ottoman Turkish military vehicles accompanied by two Russian helicopters, set off from the village of Gharib, 15 km east of Kobani.

The patrol passed the villages of Karbanaf, Kosk, Alishar, Jom Ali, Kortek, Kobek, Satan, Teri, Tel Hajib, Qabajeq Saghir, Telk, Boztepe, Qaramogh and Jishan, reaching the village of Kharabisan Fouqani.

After that the patrol returned to its starting point in Gharib.

The Ottoman Turkish military vehicles returned to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
through the gate near Gharib, while the Russian military vehicles returned to their position near the town of Sirrin, south of Kobani.

On February 27, the Russian and Ottoman Turkish forces conducted the 128th joint patrol in the western countryside of Kobani.

Daraa: Syrian Arab Army’s Eighth Brigade hunts narcos, kills one toward the Jordanian border

One man killed in clashes amid security unrest in Syria’s Daraa

[NPASyria] A young man was killed on Sunday evening in the eastern countryside of Daraa as a result of festivities between two gangs amid a state of security chaos.

Local sources told North Press that Muhammad al-Hariri was killed in festivities between the Eighth Brigade, affiliated with the military intelligence of government forces, and the Fayez al-Radi group, which is accused of selling drugs in the region, according to sources.

The festivities erupted after the al-Radi group attacked the headquarters of the Eighth Brigade located between the towns of Saida and Tibah in the eastern countryside of Daraa, the source added.

The attack came in response to arresting one member of the al-Radi group in Saida on March 4.

The Eighth Brigade was established on the ruins of the Shabaab al-Sunna faction headed by Ahmad al-Awda of the Syrian opposition during its control of southern Syria.

The Eighth Brigade has been assigned by Russia for several missions over the past years, the first of which was in Yarmouk Basin area and hunting down the remnants of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (ISIS).

Sources close to the Eighth Brigade told North Press that the command of the Brigade "issued orders to attack drug dealing groups."

The sources added that locations of people dealing with drugs would be raided in Saida, Tibah, and Umm al-Mayathin in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

Exclusive field sources said that groups of the Eighth Brigade headed on Monday to the town of Umm al-Mayathin and clashed with an gang, without further details of the outcome.

In July 2018, opposition factions and Syrian government forces reached an agreement, mediated by Russia, for the opposition-held areas of Daraa.

According to the deal, opposition forces of Evil who agreed to hand over heavy weapons, were handed special cards to protect them from prosecution, and allowed to stay in Daraa. Those opposed to the agreement were forced to leave for Idlib, which is under the control of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

Front).

Since the settlement agreement in Daraa, there has been unstable security amid constant liquidations. The region in southern Syria has witnessed a flourishing drug business and increasing ISIS sleeper cells’ activity.

Raids, reinforcements near Syrian-Jordanian border in search for drugs

[NPASyria] On Monday, military groups belonging to the Eighth Brigade, affiliated with the military intelligence of Syrian government forces, raided a number of towns in the eastern countryside of Daraa, in search for people involved in the drug trade.

Local sources told North Press that the Eighth Brigade raided a number of houses in the town of Umm al-Mayathin, in the eastern countryside of Daraa, in search of people engaged in drug trafficking.

The sources added that the brigade arrested 10 suspects, while a number of people escaped to other areas of Daraa, including Ismail al-Qaddah, the leader of a drug ring, who is accused of drug trafficking.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, another bullet hole appeared in Butch's hat......
groups of the Eighth Brigade confiscated narcotics they found in one of the raided houses in the town.

The sources pointed out that the Eighth Brigade has reached the outskirts of the town of Nassib in the eastern countryside of Daraa, where they set up military checkpoints.

The same sources noted that the pursuit of members of the groups of Ismail al-Qaddah and Fayez al-Radi, drug dealing groups, continues.

The Eighth Brigade brought reinforcements to the town of Nassib on the Jordanian border, with the intention of conducting a major assault, for fear of resistance from the wanted persons.

A source close to the Eighth Brigade told North Press that the Brigade’s command "issued orders to attack drug dealing groups."

In 2018, the Eighth Brigade, which is backed by Russia, was established out of the remnants of the Shabaab al-Sunna faction headed by Ahmad al-Awda of the Syrian opposition during its control of southern Syria.

On Sunday, festivities erupted between the Eighth Brigade and the Fayez al-Radi group, which is accused of dealing drugs in the region. As a result, Muhammad al-Hariri, affiliated with Fayez al-Radi group, was killed.

Over the past years, this region has witnessed continuous smuggling of narcotics into Jordanian territory, as the Jordanian army periodically announces the seizure of quantities of captagon pills and other drugs.

Several international reports, headed by the US Treasury, accuse the Syrian government and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia of running large drug trafficking networks in this border area, as well as other Syrian regions.
