[DW] Danish authorities said on Thursday that they have detained 13 people, through separate arrests, and charged seven with attempted terrorism. Germany also arrested a suspect in the same case.
"Unfortunately, the case shows that the threat of terrorism against Denmark remains serious," the Danish Ministry of Justice said on Twitter.
Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service (PET) remanded seven people in jug after a police operation between February 6 and February 8, the intelligence agency said in a statement.
Prosecutors have charged the seven with "planning one or more terrorist attacks or being accessory to attempted terrorism," and "having acquired ingredients and components for manufacturing explosives as well as firearms or having aided and abetted in the offense," PET said.
It is unclear if the case is linked to a committed terrorist offense.
On Thursday, the Court of Holbaek, more than 60 kilometers west of Copenhagen, ordered the detention of another six suspects in the case, PET added.
German authorities said three of the suspects were Syrian brothers aged 33, 36 and 40, including two who were arrested in Denmark and one reportedly arrested near Frankfurt.
Security forces in Germany seized about 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of black powder and fuses, during a search of a residence linked to the suspects in Dessau-Rosslau, between Naumburg
...in Saxony-Anhalt state...
Danish authorities also seized a number of chemical substances.
14 people have been arrested across Denmark and Germany as police break up a suspected Islamic State-loyal terror cell in the process of acquiring bomb-making materials and firearms.
Press Conference takes place — Breitbart London update, Friday 1155:
Speaking at a press conference on Friday morning, Danish counter-terror chief Lene Sørensen said the plot intercepted by officers in recent days is suspected to have radical Islamist inspiration.
A report of the comments in Denmark’s oldest newspaper Berlingske notes Sørensen said she couldn’t be sure exactly where the terror cell was planning to strike, but that it was likely inside Denmark or Germany.
Her colleague Flemming Drejer said an Islamic State flag was found during police raids, and that; “We have found the ingredients needed to make a bomb. We have also found weapons such as pump [action shotguns] and a hunting rifle with binoculars. These are some findings that concern us.”
The security officers said there was no imminent danger to the public.
Germany’s dpa news agency reported that the three were brothers, and that two had entered Germany for the first time in 1998 and received refugee status later. The chemicals they are alleged to have obtained came from a source in Poland, were delivered to Dessau-Rosslau, and then brought to Denmark, dpa reported.
[DW] German prosecutors say the 20-year-old Syrian asylum-seeker was motivated by homophobia when he murdered a tourist and seriously injured his partner.
That’d be Abdullah A., also known as Abdullah AHH.
German federal prosecutors charged a Syrian national suspected of stabbing two men last year in the eastern city of Dresden, German media outlets reported Thursday.
The 20-year-old suspect is said to have been motivated by a radical Islamist ideology, and targeted the couple because they were homosexual, prosecutors say.
He is facing charges of murder and attempted murder with Islamist and homophobic motives, according to Der Spiegel magazine.
The attack in Dresden's old town on October 4, 2020 left one 55-year-old man dead and his 53-year-old partner seriously injured. The couple had been visiting the city as tourists from the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The alleged attacker expeditiously departed at a goodly pace after the stabbing, and was apprehended on October 20.
The attack was the first Islamist-motivated killing of a homosexual in Germany, according to Der Spiegel.
ATTACKER WAS KNOWN TO AUTHORITIES
The man had been released from a juvenile detention center just days before the attack, after having spent three years in jail for allegedly planning a suicide kaboom, as well as having connections to "Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... " militia, Der Spiegel reported.
The alleged attacker first came to Germany in 2015 and applied for asylum.
Although his application was rejected, he was able stay in Germany under the so-called "tolerated" status, which German authorities give to rejected asylum-seekers who cannot be deported.

...the 17th century fort in Delhi that was the primary residence of the Moghul emperors...
on Republic Day has been arrested by the Delhi Police, officials said on Tuesday.
Later in the day, a city court sent him to seven-day police custody after police alleged that Sidhu was one of the main instigators of the violent mostly peaceful incidents at the Red Fort on January 26.
After the January 26 violence, which had left over 500 security personnel injured and one protestor dead, the 36-year-old actor-activist was posting videos on social media.
The violence took place when tens of thousands of farmers broke barriers to storm the national capital on January 26 during their tractor parade to highlight their demand for repealing the new agri laws.
However, if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning... their parade dissolved into unprecedented scenes of anarchy as they fought with police, overturned vehicles and delivered a national insult hoisting a religious flag
...presumably a Muslim one, as there is no reason for Sikhs or Hindus to hang a religious flag there...
from the ramparts of the Red Fort, a privilege reserved for India''s tricolour.
Thousands of protesting farmers who reached ITO from the Ghazipur border clashed with police. Many of them driving tractors reached the Red Fort and entered the monument, where the religious flag was also hoisted. Over 500 police personnel were maimed and one protestors died.
At the Red Fort on January 26, several police personnel had fell or jumped tens of feet down a wall after being pushed to the edge by a marauding mob.
In the FIR registered in connection with the Red Fort violence, police said two magazines with 20 live cartridges were snatched from two constables by protestors who also damaged vehicles and robbed anti-riot gear.
"The mob later hoisted different flags there. They also started creating nuisance on the rampart. The unruly mob was asked to come downstairs. They went to Meena Bazar area to enter the into Red Fort. When the police tried to take them out of Lahore Gate, the mob became violent mostly peaceful and attacked personnel. The mob thrashed the police personnel and threw them in the wells," police had said in the FIR.
"They damaged a bus, a government gypsy and other vehicles. The mob robbed the anti-riots gears -- cane stick, shields, body protectors, helmets etc from the police personnel," it had also said.
Inderjit Singh, Jaspal Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Jagwinder Singh, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, and Harpreet Singh have been charged by the NIA.
Investigation has revealed that accused Inderjit Singh, Jaspal Singh and Akashdeep Singh were radicalised members of SFJ a proscribed unlawful association and conspired with Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Rana Singh of SFJ.
They have made videos of the incident and sent it to Gurpatwant Singh Pannun and Rana Singh of SFJ which was broadcasted by them on various social media platform like YouTube, US Media International and SFJ Channel to propagate the secessionist agenda of SFJ and in support of Referendum-2020 for making separate State of Khalistan.
The police said that the accused is linked to the pro-Khalistan terrorists, Paramjit Singh Pammah and Maltani Singh. Paramjit is currently in UK, while Malkani is in Germany.
The police said that the two were prepping Jagdev Singh to carry out anti-national activity. Further he had been provided with money and also with his accomplice, Jagroop Singh, he had purchased arms and ammunition from Madhya Pradesh.
Pammah is a member of the Khalistan Tiger Force. He was involved in petty crimes until 1992. In 1994, he left India for Pakistan and became a main fund raiser for the Babbar Khalsa International. He later joined Jagtar Singh Tara of the KTF, who was one of the assassins of former Punjab Chief Minister, Beant Singh. Pamma also masterminded the Patiala and Ambala explosions.
During a protest in support of the farmers coordinated by the Labour Party MP, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi outside the Indian mission in London, Khalistan flags were raised. Pamma was among a group of supporters sporting the Babbar Khalsa t-shits.
The NIA had registered a case last year and in the FIR, the agency said that the SJF an unlawful association and other Khalistani terrorist outfits including, but not limited to the Babbar Khalsa International, Khalistan Tiger Force and Khalistan Zindabad Force along with their frontal organisations have entered into a conspiracy to create an atmosphere of fear and lawlessness and to cause disaffection in people and to incite them towards rising in rebellion against the government.
The NIA also said that huge funds are being collected abroad for the on-going ground campaign and propaganda against the missions in countries like US, UK, Canada and Germany. These campaigns are being spearheaded by designated terrorists, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, Paramjit Singh Pamma, Hardeep Singh Nijjar and others.
The flag was a sikh one, TW. They have a khalistani flag, yellow with black lettering probably some holdover from all that taxi driving
that they had planned to use, but the thingy wouldn't fit the hole in the pole. So they put up this other flag a guy was carrying, which is the holy sign of the Sikhs that we all respect here. The providence was uncanny even if the classic bumpkin ineptitude helped.

[IsraelTimes] Iraqi media outlets attribute rare daytime attack in the eastern Deir Ezzor province to Israel; IDF refuses to comment.
Unidentified drones have targeted a weapons shipment making its way from Iraq to Syria near an illegal military crossing used by pro-Iranian militias, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Wednesday afternoon, citing unnamed sources.
An interestingly specific nonspecific statement. Ah well, no doubt all will be revealed in a day or two.
Several Iraqi news outlets attributed the strikes to Israel.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which has had its credibility questioned in the past, said the rare daylight incident happened near Albu Kamal in the eastern Deir Ezzor province.
The first hint...
The report said the vehicle was loaded with weapons and ammunition, adding that there is no information on casualties and the extent of the damage.
Israel has reportedly bombed sites connected to Iran’s alleged missile production and transport efforts in the area before.
The Israel Defense Forces refused to comment on the strikes, in accordance with its policy to neither confirm nor deny its operations in Syria, save for those in retaliation for an attack from the country.
