[Alphanews] "Bless your heart"
The new attorney of Hennepin County, Minnesota, Mary Moriarty took her oath of office Tuesday with her hand placed on a copy of a graphic novel about the late congressman John Lewis.
Photos from the swearing-in ceremony show Moriarty with her hand on a copy of “March,” which she described as a “graphic novel trilogy about Congress Member John Lewis and his courageous fight for voting rights.”
Moriarty replaced retiring Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, who spent 24 years in the office. A former chief public defender, Moriarty promoted “restorative justice programs” on the campaign trail as an “alternative to incarceration” and “traditional prosecution.”
She also opposes the cash bail system, which is “not helping to make our community safer.”
According to Fox 9, 14 senior employees in the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said they plan to leave when Moriarty takes over. Many of them reportedly supported Martha Holton Dimick, Moriarty’s opponent.
“You can’t come into a job like this and say I’m going to take over, and we’re going to do everything differently,” retiring Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, who spent 24 years in the office, previously told Fox 9. “I don’t think Mary’s trying to do that but if she does it’s not going to work.”

There is a trend of government types releasing graphic books of themselves. They end up at libraries, bookstores on displays. Sort of check-out line theory, or bill boarding.

[ColonelCassad] Elon Musk unveiled new revelations of censorship on Twitter.
In 2017, Twitter (https://twitter.com/mtaibbi/status/1610372352872783872) was at the center of the battle over “Russian interference” in the elections. The US intelligence community, together with the Democratic Party, demanded that Twitter censors find evidence of the existence of “Russian bots” on the social network.
However, in the end, nothing large-scale was found. Twitter found only a few hundred suspicious accounts, of which only a few had anything to do with Russia. And they almost did not buy advertising - the cost of promotion did not exceed 10 thousand dollars.
These conclusions caused outrage in the political class in Washington - after all, by that time a large-scale media campaign had already been launched linking Trump's victory with Russia. Hillary Clinton, just recovering from defeat in the elections, even accused Twitter of allegedly not wanting to fight “Russian interference” on purpose.
Then, in 2020, the State Department stepped in to censor Twitter. They demanded that Twitter categorize any posts that the covid could have leaked from the Wuhan laboratory and that the US authorities could have been involved in its appearance as part of the “Russian and Chinese disinformation” campaign.
Not only American intelligence agencies participated in the establishment of censorship, but even individual Democratic lawmakers in Congress, who demanded the removal of posts from Twitter critical of them. And a total of 250,000 Twitter accounts were at risk of deletion - although not all of them ended up being blocked or censored.
Republicans in Congress have already pledged to create a new “Church Commission.” In the 1970s, they investigated the connections of the US intelligence agencies with news agencies and the media. Now, the spike between digital platforms and the intelligence community will be under investigation. But first, the Republicans need to at least decide on their leadership in Congress - which they have not yet been able to do.
Says Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
I wonder how the clowns are doing there, who have been screaming about a "private social network" in recent years. Doesn't press anything?

The fact that the 'twitter files' are being completely ignored by the media tells you all you need to know about how complacent they (the media) are as well.
We don't need a 'church commission'. We need a freaking Inquisition.
[Free Beacon] Democrats paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a consulting firm operated by an illegal alien, which experts say may have violated campaign finance laws.
Antonio Valdovinos, the owner of the Arizona-based La Machine Consulting, has made his status as a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient central to his personal narrative. He boasts of his "undocumented" status on his firm’s website and produced an off-Broadway musical,"¡Americano!," about life as a "Dreamer." Valdovinos’s immigration status could cause a problem for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which paid his firm, La Machine Consulting, $500,000 to canvas in three battleground states ahead of the 2022 midterm election.
The Federal Election Commission classifies DACA recipients as foreign nationals for the purposes of campaign finance laws, and says that foreign nationals cannot "directly or indirectly" participate in the "decision-making process" of any campaign or political committees’ election-related activities. One veteran campaign finance lawyer tells the Washington Free Beacon the DSCC’s contributions could have violated these laws.
"If the DSCC knowingly engaged a non-citizen/resident in a capacity that they are prohibited from participating in for federal election law purposes, then they ought to be held accountable," said Dan Backer, a campaign finance attorney who represented the plaintiffs in the landmark Supreme Court case, McCutcheon v. FEC.
The FEC has already flagged Valdovinos as a possible offender of the campaign finance statutes. In 2021, the commission exercised prosecutorial discretion to dismiss charges against Valdovinos for campaign finance violations but said his firm’s consulting work "raises the prospect that the company could provide the type of services that the commission has previously found resulted in prohibited foreign national contributions."
"It’s a flat out violation of federal law, everyone knows it, but the exercise of prosecutorial discretion—even without any rationale for it—is almost completely un-reviewable by courts," Backer told the Free Beacon of the DSCC payments to Valdovinos’s firm.
Valdovinos has worked for other federal candidates, though his DSCC contract is by far the largest. Rep. Ruben Gallego (D., Ariz.) paid La Machine $94,000 for petition signature gathering services last year, financial disclosures show.

Biden is targeting three specific groups. Most of the Cubans would be valid refugees to my understanding. His plan is talking about batches of 30k per month. That looks like window dressing to me.

When he "visits the border" (Whatever can be twisted into meeting rather loose criteria?), I hope Mr. Biden is met by stone-faced border agents, those mounted agents who were falsely accused of horse-whipping invaders and after the "fact", slandered by the CiC.
