[NYPOST] Former state Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith was quietly sprung early from prison last year — and is being allowed to complete the remainder of his seven-year public corruption sentence at his home in Queens, The Post has learned.
News of Smith’s home confinement comes after ex-Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was furloughed for a few days after having served less than a year of six-and-a-half year sentence for corruption — but was quickly ordered back to the clink by federal authorities.
The federal Bureau of Prisons said Smith, 64, was transferred from Lewisburg prison in Pennsylvania to "community confinement" on May 27, 2020, during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Smith’s projected release date from custody is Oct. 22, 2021.
Law enforcement sources said it’s not unusual for the BOP to transition inmates to community supervision or home confinement near the end of their sentence.
Smith is back at his home in Jamaica, Queens, and was outside wearing a bathrobe and watering his lawn Sunday morning.
[FoxNews] A Texas sheriff slammed President Biden’s border policies and argued it’s a "complete embarrassment" that his administration is forcing the Texas National Guard to clean up the piles of trash left behind by migrants.
"It's incomprehensible that a national security border, our border with another…foreign country is in the shape that it is," Jackson County, Texas Sheriff Andy Louderback told "Fox & Friends Weekend" Sunday.
Louderback’s comments come on the heels of the migrant surge at the southern border as the Biden administration continues to allow for the influx; instead, assigning border agents to clean up the mess.
The Texas sheriff added the situation is "preventable" if the president or vice president would visit the border and "see for themselves." He expressed that there have been a number of "car crashes, increased deaths, exploitation of women, and environmental concerns" in the area.
"...migrants come into the border or stash along the travel routes into the major cities here," he told co-host Jedediah Bila. "This is a major travel route, the number one human trafficking here in the United States, a tremendous hub for human trafficking and narcotics."
Louderback mentioned the border is "littered completely" with trash, and that there’s an "incredible amount" of clothing, water bottles, and backpacks around the area.

Ever since President Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... ’s 2017 tax reform capped the deduction for state and local taxes to $10,000, Cuomo has been on a tear looking to restore it. His problem is that it means high earners feel the full brunt of New York’s egregious taxes, making them more likely to flee to tax-friendlier climes like Florida.
But it’s a lost cause: Cuomo’s lawsuit over the issue (along with other high-tax states) failed miserably, and even President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences... isn’t looking to kill the Trump cap. So wailing about it is pointless, except as a distraction from the real root problem of New York’s big-spending, and thus high-taxing, ways.
Which is clearly why, as CNBC recently reported, Cuomo keeps railing about it as he talks with business leaders and wealthy New Yorkers urging them to stay in the state. In a Thursday night call with many of them, the network says, he gave the two issues equal weight, telling them "they should be telling people to stay in New York and to try to get SALT in the new tax bill."
Stay here in hopes you can do the impossible, in other words: What an inspiring sales pitch.
Even when he admits New York has a high-tax problem, Cuomo dodges responsibility, saying the "problem is property taxes." But state mandates on local governments are what cause those sky-high property taxes, and he’s never been willing to take those on.
And, in reality, the state income tax is also a big part of the problem, yet he just signed a budget that hiked income taxes on high earners to levels that rival Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, — where property taxes are severely limited.
Bottom line: Weakened by multiple scandals that should have him already impeached, Cuomo can’t even stop the Legislature from digging the Empire State deeper in the hole.
All he has to offer is a rant that his listeners know full well is meaningless noise

Leading candidate Eric Adams has similarly fumed at the mayor’s move to spend the windfall on pet projects that add thousands of new jobs to the baseline.
Heck, the mayor’s even trying to make his ThriveNYC debacle permanent, along with spending $234 million for a New Deal-style City Cleanup Corps that’ll hire 10,000 workers "to make the city cleaner and greener." Adams says he’ll defund the CCC, as "we already have a Sanitation Department."
"Had the city spread the federal money more evenly over a few years, it would have had time to restructure spending to increase efficiency and preserve services," noted Andrew Rein, who heads fiscal watchdog Citizens Budget Commission.
But de Blasio doesn’t care. Then again, he’s never cared about the price everyone else has to pay for his feckless self-indulgence.

In every one of the states that was very close that Trump lost you had those kind of shenanigans and you had state law violated in every single one of those states. [TRENDINGPOLITICS] Fox News’ Chris Wallace tried to hold a struggle session on Sunday with a Republican Congressman who objected to the 2020 election results. The results must have been disappointing. Rep. Jim Banks not only didn’t fall for it, but he threw the premise back in Wallace’s face.
The 2020 election came up in the context of Rep. Liz Cheney, who now finds her leadership position increasingly threatened in light of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy ...the GOP house majority whip. He replaces Eric Cantor, who got whupped because his politix are like Kevin McCarthy's... ’s endorsement of replacing her with Rep. Elise Stefanik.
"I’m just asking a question," Wallace remarked. "Liz Cheney is saying it’s a big lie to say the election was stolen. Liz Cheney is saying that, in fact, Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...... contributed to the riot. I’m asking you for your opinion on those issues. Is it a lie that the election was stolen? Did he contribute to the insurrection on the Capitol?"
Congressman Banks didn’t take the bait.
"I’ve never said that the election was stolen," Banks replied. "I’ve said I had very serious concerns with how the election was conducted last November because of COVID rules that loosened voter identification laws. That’s why I objected on January 6th. I’ll never apologize for that."

Banks was one of 147 Republicans who objected to the 2020 election results for a variety of reasons. Whether or not the election was "stolen" is impossible to definitively say, because dozens of the court cases brought to dispute the results were not rejected on evidentiary grounds, but on purported ’lack of standing.’ It is also simply a fact that a number of the changes to election laws in swing states were unconstitutional, since they did not pass through the state legislatures.
In addition, election integrity measures in states like Georgia, Florida and Texas have brought out a cacophony of complaints; not just by the Democratic Party, but by its numerous corporate sponsors.
Furthermore, the Democratic Party has fought any forensic audits of the election results tooth-and-nail. In Arizona, the Democratic Party has successfully fought signature-checks, and refused to turn over voting machine passwords and routers. The Department of Justice has ever warned the auditors against checking voter addresses in-person.
If the Democratic Party had nothing to hide, it would fully comply with election audits and back measures to ensure that U.S. elections are free, fair and transparent. Instead, it acts very much like a party that has everything to hide in regards to the 2020 election. Journalists like Chris Wallace seem intent to keep it that way.

It is sometimes described as the gynecololgical wing of the Democratic party... clinic. Orlins, a public defender, would decriminalize almost all misdemeanors and defund the DA’s office.
Hmm: This week, authorities charged alleged Hoolies street gang member Dashawn Austin in connection with the fatal stray-bullet shooting of 1-year-old Davell Gardner in Brooklyn last summer. Cops didn’t have to go far to find Austin, as he was already at Rikers thanks to charges on an earlier murder, in March 2020.

Yes, they claim their approach will somehow increase public safety (someday), but that magical thinking only suggests they’ve been taking advantage of pot legalization.
New Yorkers must vote for candidates who prioritize getting crime and disorder back under control or the "city that never sleeps" will be sleeping with the fishes.

This is not, I would say, everybody, raves about how we’ll run and how tight this room is that we were working in. I was in the (MCTEC) tabulation center. You know the glass (wall) and the servers in a glass room. All the computers are on a single cable that you can see. None of that matters because of two things. One, the Dominion employees were the only ones that were running any of that equipment.
So I’m, I was in the tabulation center six different days. Day and night shifts. And no county employees, no IT people, no one else was touching any of the software. They (Dominion) did all the training for the adjudicators, they ran all the reports. And so I brought this up on my very first day in the room. I said this doesn’t seem right, as a person with my background. Never in a million years would I turn my company’s most important things over to someone else. And there’s only two guys (Dominion’s Bruce & John) and they had whole control of everything.
I also participated in the (2%) random ballot selection for hand audit. Picking the ballots, you know, determining which bins we were going to select. And even with that, Dominion ran the report for it (which bins to pull). So no one, I mean, they (Dominion) knew exactly what was in the hand audit boxes. That made me nervous also. And they also knew when we pulled the last box, which was probably eight days before they quit counting ballots. As a senior manager over big projects, never in a million years would I have allowed some of the stuff that I saw going on there.
RECAP: The exact bins to be pulled for the mandated 2% hand audit were decided by Dominion staff, using their EMS software, not randomly.
The other thing that I wanted to make sure. The final week that they were counting ballots, I came in on I think a Tuesday. When I had left the Friday before I did NOT notice there was a laptop in the room behind the (glass) wall, that "John" the Dominion employee was working on. When I came in on Tuesday and walked around where they were doing the hand entry of ballots, I noticed that laptop sitting there and John was working on it. It’s not a secure room if you’re bringing a laptop in and out of a room. Who knows what happened there. Every one of the 50 desktops that were in there had a row of USB ports on the side of it. So I get very angry when I hear some of our leader here saying "Oh, it’s secure, nothing can get in or out.". That’s not true. I will tell you that is probably the biggest issue that I had.

Not yet, but this isn't going away. I don't care how clever they were or so imagined in the moment, we have quite a supply of nerds in this country and their curiosity has been aroused.
Somewhere along the line there is a point of no return. A piece of information that will put even the public at large past indecision. What happens then is anybody's guess.

My take is this is the final run of the intolerable acts. As more and more audits come in showing something is strange, maybe not enough to over turn but strange none the less, you will see the feds start stamping down and jailing those doing the auditing.
The red states will push back, there will be a back and forth while the feds and the demoncrats in congress attack the audit and start passing laws basically accusing them of insurrection.
Finally the red states will have enough and with Texas leading the charge, will start leaving the Union. War follows.

I dunno, Darth. That's certainly a possibility albeit a rather linear one. But it's a pretty big country and the so-called blue states are more like blue cities with an awful lot of red counties.
I wonder what would happen if the population simply began to ignore the federal government, the Arizona experience with traffic cameras comes to mind.
