Greatest. Democrat. Ever.
[POWERLINEBLOG] In which Powerline examines Rep. Alan Grayson's probably bigamous estranged wife's boobies.

#2  Grayson can thank his lucky stars he’s a “progressive,” otherwise newspapers would publicize the fact that he is crazy.

Heh heh. :-)

#3  I don't know, I'm stuck on trying to decide between Grayson, Reid, Obama, Clinton or Pelosi as the greatest (sarc) Democrat.
Posted by: JohnQC || 01/22/2015 11:25 Comments || Top||

#4  Grayson is neither crazy nor an idiot. He is the true face of the progressive elite. However, his DC ilk prefers to mute his type of vile public statements. As an undisciplined gadfly he routinely reveals typical progressive opinion. The kind of language usually reserved exclusively for liberal fundraisers and Hollywood cocktail parties. In a Gruber-like sense it’s not necessarily a bad thing these guys let us in on know how Progressive lever pullers really view the peasants.

Smirk Of The Union: How Better Politics Became Bitter Politics
[BREITBART] The beauty of last night's speech was that in the midst of all his high-minded rhetoric the President slipped. All of the carefully crafted paragraphs about a better politics were blown away in one instant of thin-skinned irritation.

After the President said, "I have no more campaigns to run," Republicans began applauding. The President snapped back, "I know cause I won both of them."

This brought howls and applause from the left. The president acknowledged this with a chuckle and then with a self-satisfied smirk.

Did he realize in that moment that he'd just undercut the last 1,000 words of this speech?

President Obama wanted to project an image of himself as a believer in "a better politics," but what his unscripted reaction revealed was something else. The mask of bipartisan comity is hiding a disdainful smirk. Behind the earnest stage whisper about common ground is a cynic's chuckle at his opponent's expense. What we saw last night, for a moment, was the real Barack Obama.

When it comes to being a uniter he talks a good game. He may even believe it, right up until the moment he's challenged. Then, in the blink of an eye, he's the competitor who has to remind you who won and "a better politics" is out the window. That dynamic surely helps explain why we are where we are today and not where the president so often claims we ought to be.
The remark was particularly inept, given that he was speechifying to a room full of people who had also won, many of them at his expense.

Video for KU students on their way to speechafying.

Hard hitting questions:

What will be KU basketball's NCAA seed? Will they win the tourny?

Will you legalize weed in Kansas?

Can you exclude Wichita State from the NCAA?

Why would I pay this huge KU bill when one of the best Community Colleges is located just 20 east of here in Johnson County?

Is it true that KU is hemmoraging students to Community Colleges on account of the tuition partyly because of the overspending of half a billion dollars, much attributed to Sebelius, to the KU football program and one-and-done basketball players?

Can you get the chik-fil-a closed at Student Union?

#7  Kansas University located in Douglass county the only blue county in Kansas. Known in the 60's as Berkley on the Kaw and favorite stop over for Bill Ayers (Osawatomie papers)and (prairie fire)Bernadette, Whitman and numerous other hippies and commies. Students in the 70's took great pride in exposing and harassing baby killers to the point Vets went underground or left town. Also, the famous stopover of the John F Kerry during his presidential campaign when the train to freedom forgot to stop, and Hair Edwards was sent back to smooth over hurt feelings and numerous calls to Rush. FU KU and I am an alum.

Government
Wolf Blitzer gets a clue: So many veto threats at State of the Union ?
[Wash Free Bacon] During the State of the Union address, President Obama was not shy in telling the Republican majority that he will veto any bill that came across his desk that would dismantle any of the legislation that he has worked to put in place.

'I don'€™t remember a State of the Union address where I heard a president issue so many veto threats to the opposite party in the United States Congress,' Wolf Blitzer said.
Sort of begs the question eh Wolf. When have you ever seen a president like this one ?

#2  Force him to veto it. Attach popular items the people want and let Obama veto.

#3  Congress needs to send this pathetic jackass bill after bill, each focused on a specific goal/policy issue that represents their vision for the return to prosperity, security and traditional American exceptionalism that they spoke about in the campaign. Bill after bill, things the people want and believe in, so that the true nature of this man (and ValJar)can be seen. Stop being reactive to his use of the daily Castr-like rants he gives and set your agenda, don't let him continue to set the narrative. Obama thrives on attention and prestige, not the act of governance or problem solving. He isn't a steward of the people's trust, he's a grifter with an insecurity complex as deep as a well. He loves flying around the country giving meaningless speeches in front of carefully selected audiences and adoring syncophants and useful idiots. Fundraising and preening, that is his hunger, all the rest is just annoying to him, since he actually has disdain for much of the national character and people he fooled into trusting him.

#7  Here's some easy ideas for bills to send up.

No funding for the White house kitchen, until all federal regulations on school lunches are withdrawn. Let Michelle do the cooking until then.

No funding for Air Force One, until the veterans hospital wait list meets the VA's current standards.

Require Senate confirmation (and corresponding disclosure statements) of all paid White House staff positions. If they can handle approving the promotions to Major in all the armed services, they can handle executive staffers.

Forbid civil forfeiture in federal courts without a conviction of a person holding that property prior to the civil proceeding.

Admit Puerto Rico and incorporate Guam as part of the State of Hawaii.

Remove public sector unions at all levels of government from the Wagner Act.

Direct that all federal agencies shall issue orders to permit pipelines for oil and gas as well as LNG export terminals, or be defunded.

Legislate National standards for competency to purchase a firearm, CCW, and transport to clear out the underbrush of local laws.

There are many more. This is just a start.

IRS Has Active Contract For MILLIONS With Company HHS FIRED Over Botched Healthcare.gov
[Daily Caller] Seven months after federal officials fired CGI Federal for its botched work on Obamacare website Healthcare.gov, the IRS awarded the same company a $4.5 million IT contract for its new Obamacare tax program.
No, nothing wrong with your memory at all. This is the same CGI where former FLOTUS classmate Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president.

#1  Four million dollars? Since the cost of developping a web site is nearly 100% brainpower cost (ie paying people) plus theb cost of having a building to house them how is that possible? After adding housing costs the cost of a web designer is below 200,000$. Don't tell me theyn neede twenty man years for a web site. Why is the person who authorized this contract not at Leaven worth?
Posted by: JFM || 01/22/2015 5:12 Comments || Top||

#2  Why is the person who authorized this contract not at Leaven worth?

Because the current Attorney General is Eric Holder and because the next Attorney General, even if he or she is a Republican, will be in on it. Besides, one of the last things Obama will do on his way out of the White House will be to issue a whole $h!t load of presidential pardons. There will always be crony capitalism no matter which party is in power. That means that a web site that costs $500,000 for computers, computer rooms and programmers will cost an additional $4 million for the crony to stuff in his or her pocket. The crony will then contribute $500,000 to the election campaigns of the politicians who awarded the contract.

OK, my numbers may be off by a few cents but we'll never see a detailed line item budget for this project. I'd tell you to follow the money but it always seems to disappear down some rabbit hole. I'd love to see some enterprising journalist go down that rabbit hole but it ain't gonna happen. It never does.

#3  The Obamacare health website in Massachusetts never worked, despite the state paying $170 million to CGI.

Massachusetts, the state that pioneered government healthcare through its Romneycare health insurance program in 2006, could only enroll 31,000 people in 2014. Most enrolments were through paper applications.

And in Vermont, state officials pulled the plug on CGI after its system failed to work for 10 months. Vermont had paid $66.7 million to CGI. The state imposed a $5 million penalty on the company for shoddy work.

Sounds like the IRS actually got a bargain which is surprising for an agency that can't even keep track of its email. CGI must be losing their grip. But then, there is always the possibility of cost overruns.

Woman Showcased by Obama in SOTU is a Former Democratic Campaign Staffer
[Wash Free Beacon] The woman whose story of economic recovery was showcased by President Barack Obama in his State of the Union address is a former Democratic campaign staffer and has been used by Obama for political events in the past.

Rebekah Erler has been presented by the White House as a woman who was discovered by the president after she wrote to him last March about her economic hardships. She was showcased in the speech as proof that middle class Americans are coming forward to say that Obama's policies are working.
Fresh cut, or a nice happy plant. I'll take the smiling plant.
