[Breitbart] Each year, Gallup conducts a poll that asks Americans whether they have positive or negative views of 25 U.S. business and industry sectors. Last year, there was a big and little noticed crash in Republican positivity on U.S. businesses. The average score among Republicans fell from a net positive 42 to a net positive 32. In the latest poll, the score slipped one point to 31 percent.
This is very likely a reaction against Woke Capitalism. Republicans have noticed that many U.S. businesses are hostile not only to their values but also to Republicans and conservatives themselves. It’s not surprising that Republicans take a negative view of Hollywood, with 61 percent saying they have a somewhat or very negative view of TV and radio, and 53 percent having a negative view of the movie industry. More surprising is that 49 percent have a negative view of internet companies, 46 percent of the sports industry, and 44 percent of publishing.
This has implications for business and the Republican Party. For business, it should be a wake-up call. Republicans have been reliable opponents of tax increases on businesses and critics of burdensome regulation. But the alienation of Republicans largely because of cultural issues may weaken the party’s attachment to pro-business positions. Taking sides with the left in the culture war has a cost for corporations.

Some international ad firms tried running woke ads in India. Gay couples raising a kid and such. Their offices were [giggle] burned down, and their employees had to shift jobs. The firm apologized on twitter and the government pleaded with the population to forgive them. Now they [chuckle] püssyfoot around the tinderbox Indian sensibility and make only majority appealing stuff.

I don't miss any of the products I have stopped using due to corporate wokeness. Which goes to show they were not essential to my life in the first place.
They'd be wise to try to understand that dynamic.

[RedState] The age of woke entertainment built its castle on the sand and with every new attempt to build on it, the castle becomes more and more unstable. Studios reach for excuses as to why, and it typically involves blaming fans and viewers.
The list of social justice-infected movies and shows is a long one. Ghostbusters 2016, Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Beebop, Netflix’s live-action Resident Evil show, She-Hulk, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and now Amazon’s bastardization of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings with its “Rings of Power” show.
Each of these shows abused the source material, insulted the fans with awful accusations of bad character, and then wondered why audiences didn’t show up to support it.
With the “Rings of Power,” in particular, the accusations of racism are off the reservation. Taking the exact route Star Wars did, Amazon claims there have been untold amounts of racism pouring down the pipe towards its actors of color while producing absolutely no proof. In truth, I have no doubt there actually is racism but on the internet, trolls are going to troll, and people who hate will find a way to express that hatred.
However, much of the actual backlash coming from fans, even about the race angle, has nothing to do with racism but story structure and keeping to the logic of established worlds. Yours truly is one of those people and was featured in an article from CNN about this very thing. It was met with the exact same accusations of racism that Amazon is now throwing out.
I addressed these accusations in detail in last Friday’s episode of RedState LIVE!
In truth, it’s not about racism or sexism. It’s not about bigotry or xenophobia. It’s not even about being a gatekeeping nerd, though gatekeeping has its uses.
Outside of consistency within a story, a lot of people have trouble viewing social justice “entertainment” because of a very simple issue; predictability.
Social justice shows, movies, comics, video games, and every other form of media are effectively just propaganda with a mask. Unlike a story made for the sake of a good story, propaganda has to follow certain rules. Social justice/woke entertainment is very rigid in the rules it has to follow.
For instance, the Bechdel test has to be passed. Female lead characters must have almost no flaws. One flaw they are allowed to have is that they don’t believe in their own power enough. If she has a male teacher or leader, she must be better than him at everything from the outset.
The villain must be white and male. The villain can be black, but he or she must also have a compelling argument for doing the things they’re doing. Men must be inferior to women and/or must be stupid and/or evil. A man cannot win an argument or physical confrontation against a woman, no matter how improbable.
Casting must be “diverse,” however if the cast excludes non-white actors completely or has a cast full of one type of non-white person, then that is acceptable.
The list of rules goes on, but these are some of the most noticeable ones you’ve seen lately.
It’s too predictable and the predictability lends to the boredom that was already present due to the limited ability to tell a good story thanks to the strict parameters set by the social justice ideology. There’s no character growth, no plot twists, no moments that really make you think or feel, and all the while you get the unrelenting preachiness of an ideology you’re not fully on board with if at all.
Bottom line? Social justice storytelling is boring and tired. Not only is it uncreative, but it also requires that all criticism be met with accusations toward the viewers or the fandoms in order to protect and support the political message the show is infected with.
The fast studios cut that cancer out of their midst, the faster they can get back to telling stories that don’t suck.

Yes. Long ago movies and TV shows used to have plot, character development, wit, humor, and good music. That was why we watched them. When all that went away, we stopped watching.

Being 'woke' puts ideological blinkers on the creative process. Do you remember "Jonesy" (Courtney B. Vance) from the Hunt For Red October(1990)? Tom Clancy as an author had no mental image of the minor character " Petty Officer Jones, Sonar operator of USS Dallas," but after Vance's bravura acting the character was his alone.
In Woke Universe™ such things don't happen because every character must fit some pedagogical stereotype....

Will never have an inside Cat, having gotten a quick look at the total lack of loyalty of cared for cats.
There was a recluse cat lady up the dirt road away from us who had not been seen for a few days. So my brother, who was area the constable, a medic and me, did a Hello check. Thur the window, they found her dead in her bed (stroke, heart attack or something) with cats. It seemed the Cats, after a few days of being locked inside and not being fed, started chewing on her soft parts. Every cat, about 40 of them at that house, was put down.
Today we use feral outside cats. We feed them just enough to keep them around and keep the Squirrel population in check. Because we have several Pecan trees.

Mine were in and out via a pet door. Only problems arose when they "brought their work home" not quite finished off yet.

I got used to looking for dead critters when that particular odor would occur. One time, the living room had that smell, and I looked everywhere. Moved furniture. I just couldn't find the rodent corpse. As I slumped on the couch, resigning myself to dealing with it until it went away on its own, I cast my eye upon a hanging plant basket in the corner of the room. I checked, and sure enough, there was a dead birdie that had still been alive when one of the kitties brought it in. It got loose, flew up into the hanging plant, and died there.

TPPF CEO Greg Sindelar says the foundation is advocating for the state of Texas to declare that "an invasion [is] underway, from cartel forces and their allies, under the U.S. Constitution’s Article I, Section 10.” It’s also calling on the federal government to designate Mexican cartels as terror organizations, among other policies it will be proposing.
