Afghanistan
Army Report Buried Islamic Motivations For Afghan Murders of US Troops
By Andrew G. Bostom
Mr. Bostom responds to General Allen in high indignation supported by hard data generated by the Army itself.
On May 12, 2011
An oldie but goody...
a US Army "Red Team" issued an unclassified report which purported to explain the burgeoning rash of murderous attacks (which have since escalated even further, still) by Afghan National Army (ANA) members on US and other NATO troops.

Although the report is dominated by apologetic, cultural relativist drivel which attempts, in vain, to explain away these acts of murder committed against the US and NATO troops by their by ANA "allies," it also includes a crudely buried, sub rosa truthful narrative.

This latter discussion is all that matters, and bears full, clear exposure -- particularly in light of the morally dubious excuse for the most recent spate of such killings of US troops. Specifically,  General Allen in a pronouncement for which he should be forced to resign, maintained that Ramadan fasting, combined with operational tempo during the summer heat, were the drivers of these most recent killings of his own troops by Muslim ANA soldiers.

[p. 3] U.S. Soldiers' views of ANSF [Afghan National Security Forces], particularly of the ANA, were...extremely negative. They reported pervasive illicit drug use, massive thievery, personal instability, dishonesty, no integrity, incompetence, unsafe weapons handling, corrupt officers, no real NCO [non-commissioned officer] corps, covert alliances/informal treaties with insurgents, high AWOL rates, bad morale, laziness, repulsive hygiene, and the torture of dogs. Perceptions of civilians were also negative stemming from their insurgent sympathies and cruelty towards women and children.

[Specific elaborations on Afghan Muslim treatment of dogs, women, and children; pp. 44-45] Many US soldiers were appalled by the rampant torture of dogs and puppies they witnessed while being based with ANSF units. Many ANSF members are prone to inflicting abuse onto stray dogs they bring to the base for "entertainment" purposes. Other ANSF members, while not condoning the torture, fail to see any importance in such behaviors given the standing of dogs in Islam. Dogs are seen as vermin and many ANSF members find it inexplicable that anyone could be concerned about such "trivial matters," and deeply resent any interference...This animal abuse is a substantial psychological stressor for many US soldiers and has been the cause of many serious social altercations with ANSF members...US soldiers reported that they had observed many cases of child abuse and neglect that infuriated them and alienated them from the civilian populace. They made it very clear that they wanted nothing to do with people who treat children so cruelly. Although not reported by the US soldiers who participated in this study. There have been numerous accounts of Canadian troops in Kandahar complaining about the rampant sexual abuse of children they have witnessed ANSF personnel commit, including the cultural practice of bacha bazi [link - ed], as well as the raping and sodomizing of little boys...Similarly, US soldiers...mentioned the poor treatment and virtual slavery of Women in Afghan society, and how they found such practices repugnant. They found it unpalatable to befriend other men who had such primitive beliefs; the cultural gulf was too wide. They were repulsed by the abuse and neglect they observed in how children are treated in Afghan society. US soldiers largely reported that they did not care for Afghan civilians due to these factors as well as their suspected sympathies for the insurgents.

But the most salient point -- blatantly ignored throughout the feckless conduct of our mission in Afghanistan, till now, and exemplified, glaringly, by General Allen's remarks -- was inserted (as item 40), non-sequitur, amongst 58 other comparatively trivial recommendations.

[p. 50] Better educate US soldiers in the central tenets of Islam as interpreted and practiced in Afghanistan. Ensure that this instruction is not a sanitized, politically correct training package, but rather includes an objective and comprehensive assessment of the totalitarian nature of the extreme theology practiced among Afghans.

#2  Maybe, if the rogue ANA troops capped a few officers of flag grade, senior officers attitudes might evolve.

Really though, just scorch the place, Pakiland too, and be done with it.

#3  I suppose the report about the repulsive nature of the nature of Afghans is a step forward. It explains the dislike of Afghans by Americans pretty well. Presumably the shootings are a reaction to the sense of being unliked, huh?
Crap.
However, somebody noted a couple of years ago wrt Iraq...note the number--very low--of "war brides".
The troops must be seeing something either not obvious to those not there, or so obvious those not there overlook it.

#4  Apparently, some of the central tenets of Islam that the soldiers need to learn about include betraying your friends, abusing dogs, sexually abusing young boys and degrading women.

#6  However, somebody noted a couple of years ago wrt Iraq...note the number--very low--of "war brides".

Guys were a bit busy at the time unlike garrison duty elsewhere. They were not billeted among the general population. Very few 'safe' places to mingle. New laws and regulations in place. Did you know if you marry a foreign bride now, you are financially responsible for her for ten years whether the marriage lasts two years or the ten and beyond?

#8  Proc - that's the standard 'Affidavit of Support' anyone who wishes to bring over a foreign fiancee or spouse has to agree to. I believe 'relative' immigration visa's have a similar requirement.
In addition you need to inform Immigration if you move your residence and give them your new address.
I had to sign such a paper when I brought over my Fiancee. The obligation ended when she became a U.S. Citizen.
Meanwhile Obumbles is illegally granting amnesty to illegal aliens and not bothering to track them and fighting like hell to prevent any ID requirements to vote.

Let's see, listening to music and dancing are unIslamic and can get you beheaded but torturing dogs is OK? Makes me tend to agree with you, Secret Asian Man.

#10  Sounds like the higher-ups are getting "touchy feely" about the enemy. If our soldiers on the ground hate the culture because it consists of unchanging 7th century barbarians, that is pretty understandable.

The Endless War: Saudi Arabia Goes On The Offensive Against Iran

#1  FTLG, Alan + Buddha - NO PICS, NO PICS!

The concept of a psc'd Romney on a stripper pole is too horrible to comprehend.

* IIRC TOPIX, DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > SAUDI STRUGGLE AGZ IRAN LIKELY TO GET WORSE.

Little to no hope of Diplomatic or Peaceful rapprochement, solution in near-term - IN THE STRUGGLE FOR OWG/GLOBAL CALIPHATE, + "SOLE" DEFENDER OF THE FAITH + MUSLIM HOLY PLACES, THE KSA + IRAN ARE LIKELY IN IT TO THE DEATH DESPITE CONTRAY POL RHETORIC ANDOR PERIODS OF INTERIM PEACE???

["HIGHLANDER" - THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE here].

* BHARAT RAKSHAK > SAUDI SUPPORT FOR SYRIA REBELS [strongly] SHAPED BY TRIBAL [Ethnic]], RELIGIOUS TIES. Ditto as per for many 000's of Kuwaitis + Qataris.

* WAFF > [MEMRI TV = Video] EGYPTIAN CLERIC SAFWAT HAGAZI: "ONE OF THE TENETS OF THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD ... IS THE ISLAMIC CALIPHATE + RULING THE WORLD ... THE DAY WILL COME WHEN WE WILL BE MASTERS OF THE WORLD".

Oh Rly, + widout the Boy also???

Lest we fergit,

RENSE > WORLD MAY BE FORCED TO GO/BECOME VEGETARIAN BY 2050.

Besides both Muslim + non-Muslims in future time being potens forced to EXISTENTIALLY wear the Burqua = Islamo-Arab style dress/fashions as due to GWCC = Pert-forecasted intensification of Global Temperatures [Solar activities]???

Is it just me, or does anyone else suddenly have the urge to rent out Sly Stallone's "THE DEMOLITION MAN", where every restaurant in future LA is a TACO BELL, + everyone wears a Cap-n-Frock???

* RENSE > ""PEAK OIL" POSTPONED FOR A DECADE OR TWO | [Telegraph.UK] "PEAK CHEAP OIL" AN INCONTROVERTIBLE FACT.

Year 2040 or so - when our desired future OWG that no American + Amerikan has voted for asof 2012 may formally declare "fracking" a CRIME AGZ HUMANITY + CRIME AGZ PLANET/EARTH???

ARTIC > Oil Prices continue to rise as output in the North Sea + Gulf of Mexico continues to steadily decline, Oil Industry "as is" cannot + will not satisfy chronic demand.

IIUC, IOW "SHALE OIL" + LNG = WORLD IS OUT OR RUNNING LOW ON "CHEAP DEEP OIL/DEEP OIL", + as per the so-called "Biotic Oil" Theory our desired future OWG-NWO Govts, Perts can't agree on how fast Mother Earth can or does successfully replenish its natual "Cheap Deep Oil/Deep Oil" reservoirs.

------------

As for Iran ...

* DEFENCE.PK/FORUMS > "HUMAN WAVE" RAIDS [military mass assaults = offensives] LOSES FAVOR WID IRAN CLERICS.

ARTIC > NEW STRATEGEERY = based on LIMITED COUNTER-OFFENSIVES + PRAGMATISM, NOT RELIGIOUS FERVOR. Prolly safe to say also INTEL + not-a-few Precision Strikes vee LRBMS.

IIUC, IMO this new Mil Strategy is consistent wid Iran's desire to restrict or isolate USN Nuclear CVNS + Gator Boyz to outside the Persian Gulf, i.e. in the Sea of Oman, Arabian Gulf, + beyond ASAP AMAP ALAP where destructive LR Air, Missle attacks [Conventional, or Nuclear?] can be effec conducted by Iran agz same widout Iran having to detonate Nukes-WMDS ON ITS OWN SOIL TO DEFEAT A US OR US-NATO LED GROUND INVASION.

It also explains Iran's prideful announcement that it can quickly produce large numbers of powerful Tactical BMS - read. anti-US Coastal + Beachead attacks.

Iran's plan is not to win agz a US or US-led ground invasion, but mainly "TO NOT LOSE", I.E. TO CAUSE SUCH CASUALTIES OR LOSSES AMONGST INVADING US-ALLIED MILFORS, ASSETS THAT A NERVOUS US MAINSTREAM, INFLUENTIAL ANTI-WAR ACTIVISTS, + US CONGRESSCRITTERS, ETAL. WILL DEMAND AN END TO HIGH-CASUALTY GROUND COMBAT + FORCE A RECALL OF US TROOPS BACK TO CONUS.

* BHARAT RAKSHAK > REPORT: IRGC SPLIT OVER REGIME, NUKES [Policies].

* WORLD NEWS > IRAN SAYS IT SENT TROOPS [IRGC, Officer-Commanders + units] TO SYRIA.

* SAME > WHEN ASSAD FALLS, KURDS IN SYRIA SAY THEY'LL TAKE BACK LANDS GIVEN TO ARABS.

Saladin stii a'rising.

Fifth Column
Arresting Assange, without violating int'l law
The temperature is way up in London with the decision of the government of Ecuador to grant WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange political asylum. Some have suggested that Britain could use its Diplomatic and Consular Premises Act of 1987 to revoke the diplomatic status of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to enable British police to enter the premises and arrest Mr. Assange. What would this mean to diplomatic premises around the world? What would be the best strategy for London to follow in order to put Assange back in police custody? Now is the time to sit back a little and explore some options and their implications.

#1  I see no problem with Assange having to sit there for 15 years
Posted by: BernardZ || 08/27/2012 6:50 Comments || Top||

#2  Don't set a precedent that will later cause problems. Let Assange sit in the embassy as long as the Ecuadorians can tolerate him -- it won't be that long.

Reminds me of the old story of a Roman legion besieging a city. The inhabitants of said city boasted to the Roman legate that they had enough supplies to withstand a ten year siege. The legate replied that the Romans would wait eleven years.

#3  The Ecuadorians thought they'd stick a thumb in western powers' eye. Let them feed, care, and listen to this pompous ass. I suspect it won't take that long. I'd also make sure
Ecuadorian embassys everywhere have strange utility issues, and their staff is harrassed at all times

-Election 2012
Learning to Like Mitt
By Andrew Ferguson, reluctant Romneyite

Now that he's officially the Republican nominee for president and has an excellent chance of becoming the most powerful man in the world, I feel free to admit, in the full knowledge that nobody cares, that I never liked Mitt Romney. My distaste for him isn't merely personal or political but also petty and superficial. There's the breathless, Eddie Attaboy delivery, that half-smile of pitying condescension in debates or interviews when someone disagrees with him, the Ken doll mannerisms, his wanton use of the word "gosh"--the whole Romney package has been nails on a blackboard to me.

Evidently not many of my fellow Republicans agreed. I assumed I was missing something and resolved to dive into the Romney literature, which I soon discovered should post a disclaimer, like a motel pool: NO DIVING. By my count the literature includes one good book, The Real Romney, by two reporters from the Boston Globe. That's the same Globe with the leftward tilt to its axis and a legendary anti-Romney animus--which lends authority to their largely favorable portrait. The flattering details of Romney's life were so numerous and unavoidable that the authors, dammit, had no choice but to include them.

To this touching kindness and fatherly wisdom, The Real Romney adds other traits that will continue to grate--he's a know-it-all and likely to remain so, and his relationship to political principle has always been tenuous. Which makes him a, uh, politician. But now I suspect he's also something else, a creature rarely found in the highest reaches of American politics: a good guy.

#2  We have heard a bit from Andrew Ferguson lately. He was a McCain advisor apparantly (unless i am mixing things up here). Was he one of the chaps that tried to cover their own butts by blaming the campaigns failure on Palin and if so has he ever apoligized or retracted the statements?
