"Meet the Press Daily, the MSNBC program based on the Sunday public affairs show, will go streaming-only beginning next month. Gun battles between rival gangs in Port-au-Prince have killed dozens in the past two weeks and forced thousands to flee their homes, Haiti’s civil protection authority and a U.N. agency said.

He personally undertook to translate the manuscript from French into English, as I recall, while his French publishers had translations made available in a variety of other languages; so you ought to be able to find a copy in your preferred tongue, or one near it. Only on paper or as an audiobook, unfortunately — he was of the generation that predates e-books. I think reading that would guide you toward much more persuasive arguments for your target audience rather than being unintentionally amusing.

He did start out as a Socialist, to be sure, but he was born in 1924 in France, and in his youth the choice for intellectuals was between degrees on the left: Fabians, labour socialists, national socialist fascists, or international socialist Marxists. With maturity and experience, however, he became a committed free market capitalist and classical liberal, no longer a denizen of the Left at all. If he was rich, it was not as a Socialist, French or otherwise.
Matt dear, those are not mere girlfriends but proper mistresses, each with all the traditional accoutrements thereof.

I seem to recall an incident many years ago in which a group of Cuban activists who sought to liberate Cuba from the Castro regime flew their private airplanes toward Cuba, right up to the edge of Cuban airspace. They did this many times just to harass Fidel. But one day Cuban air force pilots scrambled their jets and met the freedom activists. Some, if not all, of the activist were blown out of the sky.
There were all kinds of protests, hand wringing and a great deal of sympathy for the freedom activists. But there was also some understanding that the communist were justified in their response to the provocation.
It's kinda like the wise ass on the playground who throws pretend punches close to the face of the wimp...until the wimp punches him out.
It seems you have a right to defend your personal space.
