Missouri Feral Hog Update: More than 9,300 hogs removed to date
[St. Louis Post-Dispatch] The Missouri Department of Conservation has tallied up feral hog elimination numbers from January through December 2018. The final number is 9,365 feral hogs removed from the state’s landscape by MDC, partner agencies, and private landowners. In 2017, 6,561 feral hogs were removed.

MDC and partners have implemented a new strategy to feral hog elimination, dividing the areas where feral hogs are present into elimination areas 1 through 6. Trapping is currently ongoing in each zone. Zone one, near the Harry S. Truman Reservoir and Stockton Lake, is benefiting from a significantly reduced population of feral hogs. The goal continues to be complete elimination of feral hogs from Missouri.

Mark McLain, MDC’s feral hog elimination team leader, said MDC is partnering with many agricultural and conservation groups, as well as hundreds of private landowners, that are all committed to eliminating feral hogs from Missouri. Landowners and the public are a crucial element of this effort, especially since most land in Missouri is privately owned.

"With one sounder of hogs capable of damaging 10-25 acres in a single night, feral hogs impact the productivity and profitability of Missouri farmers and ranchers," said Gary Marshall, chairman of agriculture coalition for Missouri Farmers Care. "The success of MDC and partners reducing hog numbers, especially around the Warsaw area, has provided relief to landowners. We look forward to continued collaboration leading to additional hog population reductions in 2019."

"He's Dead, Jim' - The Newseum To Close After Losing Lots Of Money
It's sure been a bad week for the news / journalism 'industry', so here's a cherry on top of the butterscotch sundae for y'all.
[Newsbusters] - Self-Indulgent Journalistic Shrine to Close After Hemorrhaging Money

After 11 years of hemorrhaging money, the Baltimore Sun on Friday announced that the Newseum, a 250,000 square foot temple dedicated to journalists by journalists, will close.

The Sun reported that the $500 million building will shut down at the end of 2019, finally ending the saga of a Washington D.C. museum that was always in debt and had five chief executives in the last nine years. In 2017, the Washington Post announced it was on "death watch" after a "stunning decline."

One thing that didn’t help the Newseum is the expensive ticket prices. It costs $21 for adults (down from a high of $25) and almost $13 for children. In a city of free museums, this isn’t exactly enticing.

Over the years, NewsBusters has reported on the problems with the self-indulgent shrine to journalism. In 2008, The MRC’s Kyle Drennen noted that "the exhibit on journalistic ethics took up less space in the seven floor building than the gift shop."

Continuing Airline Olfactory news
[Independent] A family who were thrown off an American Airlines flight for alleged "body odour" have accused the carrier of singling them out for being Jewish.

Returning home from holiday, Yossi and Jennie Adler and their 19-month-old daughter were due to fly from Miami to Detroit on 23 January, but after boarding the flight they were asked to leave the plane by crew and were not allowed back on.

Staff told them other passengers had been complaining about their odour.

"I said: ’Excuse me? I need to get home. There is no body odour on me,’" Yossi told NBC News.

Statement of attorneys on behalf of Nick Sandmann & his familty
Posted by: Anguper Hupomosing9418 || 01/26/2019 02:28 || Comments || Link || [3 views] Top|| File under:

#1  Copied and pasted here for your convenience

On January 18, in the span of a few hours, Nick Sandmann’s peaceful attendance with his Covington Catholic classmates at the March for Life in Washington, D.C. was turned into a personal nightmare when Nick became the focus of false and defamatory accusations published and broadcast across the nation and the world. A mob comprised of activists, church and school officials, members of the mainstream print and broadcast media, and individuals on social media, including elected public officials and celebrities, rushed to condemn and vilify this young man by burying him in an avalanche of false accusations, false portrayals, and cyberbullying that have threatened his reputation and his physical safety. Nick Sandmann is 16 years old. He is an eleventh-grade high school student. He is not the face of evil and he did absolutely nothing wrong or inappropriate in connection with the incident to deserve the heinous accusations made against him by uninformed or agenda-driven individuals and media entities.

Nick and his family have experienced one of the worst sides of our present society. As their lawyers, we intend to exercise our best efforts as advocates to show Nick and his family another side of our society – that we are a society that survives and flourishes from the fact that it is based on the rule of law. A system of justice that demands that truth prevail and the wrongdoers be held accountable for the harm they have inflicted on Nick and his family.

In the coming weeks, we will be carefully reviewing all of the false accusations and threats made against Nick. We fully expect that a multitude of civil lawsuits will be filed and aggressively pursued. We recognize that justice for Nick will not be achieved quickly, but we are dedicated to achieving it for this young man regardless of time or expense.

At this time, Nick, his family and their lawyers will not be engaging in media interviews. There is work to be done. If any member of the public has information, they believe is helpful to Nick, that information can be communicated to us by email to supportnick@linwoodlaw.com.

Nick and his family sincerely appreciate the fair-minded individuals who respect our system of justice and refused to rush to judgment before the truth was revealed. Our efforts are not about politics, race or religion. Our efforts are only about justice for Nick.

Now the Corp's prestige i'll glean
I'm beclowned to claim the title

Then to keep on slandering
Been exposed for claiming title

As a pedantic geography nerd, allow me to point out that the Cape Shirreff field station is near the tip of the Antarctic peninsula (the tip of the duck's beak, if you will) at approximately 62 degrees south latitude. It is not the south pole and if memory serves, the climate on the peninsula is considered maritime and not polar.

Hundreds missing in Brazil after Vale tailings dam breaks, area evacuated
[ARABNEWS] A Brazil fire brigade said it was searching for about 200 people still unaccounted for after a tailings dam burst on Friday at an iron ore mine owned by Brazilian miner Vale SA in southwestern Minas Gerais state.

A statement from the fire brigade issued in Belo Horizonte city said scores of people were trapped in areas by the river of sludge released by the dam failure.

Vale said there were employees in the administrative buildings of the dam that were covered by the surge of mud and water and there could be casualties in that area.

There was no immediate word of fatalities.

The mud hit parts of the local community Vila Forteco, near the town of Brumadinho, where families were told to evacuate their home sin low-lying areas, authorities said.

Helicopters plucked people covered in mud from the disaster area, including a woman with a fractured hip who was among eight injured people taken to hospital, officials said.

Television reports showed people running away as the dam broke, and nearby fields with bean crops destroyed by packed mud.

BuzzFeed has started its layoffs, but it's also talking about a merger
BuzzFeed began laying off 15 percent of its staff ‐ about 200 employees ‐ on Friday. Its next move could be a merger with Group Nine, another big digital publisher.

Speculation about a tie-up between the two companies has been bubbling in the media industry for months, and sources familiar with both companies say the two have indeed been discussing a merger. The two companies aren’t close to a finalized deal and may ultimately find different partners. If there is a merger, sources say, it won’t happen imminently.

A BuzzFeed rep declined to comment; I’ve asked Group Nine for comment.

There is some logic to a deal, as both BuzzFeed and Group Nine specialize in generating relatively low-cost, high-volume video designed to travel around the internet with the help of platforms like Facebook and Google. Last fall, BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti publicly floated the idea of merging big digital publishers together so they can get better terms from Facebook and other distributors.

BuzzFeed and Group Nine also share a link via digital investor Ken Lerer. Lerer, who along with Peretti was a co-founder of HuffPost, is the chairman of BuzzFeed’s board; his son Ben Lerer runs Group Nine. Group Nine was created in 2016, when cable TV giant Discovery contributed cash and some assets to a joint venture with three companies with ties to the Lerer family: Thrillist, a lifestyle publisher aimed at young men; the Dodo, a site dedicated to animals and people who love them; and NowThis, a video news publisher.

Any deal would require the companies’ array of backers to reach an agreement on valuation. Most intriguingly, it would require Discovery, which owns the largest stake in Group Nine, to sync with rival TV giant Comcast*, which has put $400 million into BuzzFeed and is the publisher’s biggest backer.

Last fall, Discovery told investors it values its 42 percent in Group Nine at $212 million, which implies a $500 million valuation for the whole company. In 2016, BuzzFeed raised $200 million from NBC Universal at a valuation of $1.7 billion. It’s quite possible that number would drop in today’s market, after a couple years where other digital publishers have folded, sold at fire sale prices, or seen their valuations slashed.

Both Peretti and Ben Lerer built businesses that were supposed to thrive in the social media world, in particular with the help of Facebook. But while Facebook spent several years courting media companies, it’s now clear that Facebook (along with Google) will continue to dominate the internet advertising market and won’t be sharing that wealth with publishers. (Its new pitch to publishers: We’ll help you sell subscriptions, which is a business we’re not in.)

In response, Peretti has been trying to find new revenue streams, and now he’s cutting costs. Once that’s done, he may try to bulk up.

* Comcast is an investor in Vox Media, which owns this site.

U.S. considers putting Cuba on terror list over island's support of Venezuela's Maduro
[Miami Herald] The Trump administration is considering returning Cuba to the list of countries that sponsor terrorism if its government and military continue to support Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela, a source with knowledge of the deliberations told el Nuevo Herald.

"What Cubans are doing in Venezuela is unacceptable," a senior administration official said. "And the United States is evaluating options to address that behavior."

The Obama administration removed Cuba from the list of countries that sponsor terrorism in 2015 ‐ one of the island government’s demands for agreeing to reestablish diplomatic relations. But the Trump administration has increasingly highlighted Cuba’s role in Venezuela and threatened Havana with increased sanctions.

The official said Cuban intelligence operatives in Venezuela have been a "fundamental" factor in the continued support of Maduro by senior Venezuelan armed forces officers.

Mexico promises to take care of asylum seekers sent back by the United States
[LA Times] Mexican officials promised Friday to provide protection to asylum seekers who are sent back across the border from the United States under a new Trump administration policy, even though it could force the migrants to wait months or even years while their cases are considered by U.S. courts.

"The Mexican government does not agree with the unilateral measure implemented by the United States government," Roberto Velasco, a spokesman for Mexico's foreign ministry, said in a statement. "However ... we reiterate our commitment to migrants and human rights."

Velasco said the U.S. Embassy informed Mexican officials that 20 Central American asylum-seekers would be returned to Mexico on Friday afternoon at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, the largest border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana.

At the border on Friday, no official return appeared to be underway. But other migrants who were waiting on the Mexican side for their chance to lodge asylum claims with U.S. officials said they were deeply worried about the new policy.

"It will be horrible," said a man from Cameroon who said he had been imprisoned and tortured by his government back home. He asked not to be named for fear of reprisals.

Brazil dam collapse leaves at least seven dead and 200 missing
[Telegraph] A dam that held back mining waste collapsed on Friday in Brazil, inundating a nearby community in reddish-brown sludge, killing at least seven people and leaving scores of others missing.

Parts of the city of Brumadinho were evacuated, and firefighters rescued people by helicopter and ground vehicles. Local television channel TV Record showed a helicopter hovering inches off the ground as it pulled people covered in mud out of the waste.

Photos showed rooftops poking above an extensive field of the mud, which also cut off roads. The flow of waste reached the nearby community of Vila Ferteco and an administrative office for Brazilian mining company Vale SA, where employees were present.

"'I've never seen anything like it," Josiele Rosa Silva Tomas, president of Brumadinho resident's association, told The Associated Press by phone. "It was horrible ... the amount of mud that took over."

Seven bodies had been recovered by late Friday, according to a statement from the governor's office of Minas Gerais state.

Kremlin-linked contractors help guard Venezuela's Maduro
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Private military contractors who do secret missions for Russia flew into Venezuela in the past few days to beef up security for President Nicolas Maduro in the face of U.S.-backed opposition protests, according to two people close to them.

A third source close to the Russian contractors also told Reuters there was a contingent of them in Venezuela, but could not say when they arrived or what their role was.

Russia, which has backed Maduro’s socialist government to the tune of billions of dollars, this week promised to stand by him after opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself president with Washington’s endorsement.

It was the latest international crisis to split the global superpowers, with the United States and Europe backing Guaido, and Russia and China urging non-interference.

Yevgeny Shabayev, leader of a local chapter of a paramilitary group of Cossacks with ties to Russian military contractors, said he had heard the number of Russian contractors in Venezuela may be about 400.

Venezuela: Juan Guaidó urges fresh protests and bids for Russia and China backing
[Guardian] The leader of Venezuela’s newly energized opposition, Juan Guaidó, has summoned fresh street protests and reached out to China and Russia as he intensified his campaign to force Nicolás Maduro and his "arrogant" dictatorship from power.

In his first public appearance since declaring himself Venezuela’s interim president on Wednesday, the 35-year-old politician urged citizens to take to the streets and step up their battle against the man he dubbed "El Usurpador" (The Usurper).

A new round of demonstrations would be held next week, with the exact date and locations to be announced on Sunday, Guaidó said on Friday.

"In Miraflores [the presidential palace] they think this movement will deflate, that we will grow tired. But nobody here will tire, nobody will give in. Venezuela has awoken and it will never fall asleep again," Guaidó declared.

"Sí, se puede!" he crowd roared back. "Yes, we can!"

Russia offers to mediate between Venezuela government, opposition
[PRESSTV] Russia has offered to mediate between the Venezuelan government and opposition, amid a political crisis that has plagued the Latin American country.

Alexander Shchetinin, the director of the Latin America Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, offered mediation in Venezuela on Friday, according to the Russian RIA news agency.

Shchetinin said Moscow was ready to cooperate with international players and use its capacity to ensure "dialog is established" between the conflicting parties in Venezuela.

Venezuela is convulsed by political crisis. On Wednesday, opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself the "interim president" of the country, rejecting the presidency of Nicolas Maduro
Venezuela's attempt at producing a Muammar Qadaffy...
, who was sworn earlier after winning elections boycotted by the opposition.

Minutes after Guaido’s self-proclamation, the United States said it recognized him as the "legitimate" leader of Venezuela, calling on other countries to follow suit.

The government of President Maduro responded by cutting ties with the US.

Venezuela crisis: Guaidó rejects talks with Maduro
[BBC] Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó has rejected an offer of talks from President Nicolás Maduro amid an ongoing power struggle between the two.

Mr Guaidó declared himself "acting president" on Wednesday, a position that has been recognised by several countries, including the US.

But Mr Maduro called the move a "coup" influenced by the US and cut off diplomatic ties in response.

A UN Security Council meeting on the crisis is due to be held on Saturday,

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has appointed a veteran former diplomat as his envoy to deal with the crisis in Venezuela.

He said Elliott Abrams would be responsible for all US efforts to restore democracy in Venezuela.

Mr Abrams is a prominent neo-conservative who has long argued for an activist foreign policy to spread American values around the world.

He served as US Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs in the 1980s under President Ronald Reagan.

Maduro Denied in Bid to Pull $1.2 Billion in Gold From Bank of England
[BLOOMBERG] Nicolas Maduro
Venezuela's attempt at producing a Muammar Qadaffy...
’s embattled Venezuelan regime, desperate to hold onto the dwindling cash pile it has abroad, was stymied in its bid to pull $1.2 billion worth of gold out of the Bank of England, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Bank of England’s decision to deny Maduro officials’ withdrawal request comes after top U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton, lobbied their U.K. counterparts to help cut off the regime from its overseas assets, according to one of the people, who asked not to be identified.

The U.K. followed the U.S. and other countries on Wednesday in recognizing Juan Guaido, the National Assembly leader, as the legitimate president of Venezuela. Maduro, an authoritarian ruler who’s overseen the country’s collapse into economic chaos, refuses to give up power, though, and has the backing of the military.

The U.S. officials are now trying to steer Venezuela’s overseas assets to Guaido to help bolster his chances of effectively taking control of the government. The $1.2 billion of gold is a big chunk of the $8 billion in foreign reserves held by the Venezuelan central bank. The whereabouts of the rest of them is largely unknown. The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, though, has emerged recently as a destination for freshly mined Venezuelan gold. The U.S. is leading an international effort to persuade Turkey -- which is a key Maduro backer, along with Russia and China -- to stop being a conduit for these gold shipments.

Migrant shelters overflowing as Tijuana braces for returnees
[Aljazeera] Migrant shelters in a northern Mexican border city are overflowing with people as they cope for the influx of US asylum seekers set to be returned to the city from the United States, say activists and local shelter officials.

Officials at shelters located in Tijuana, currently filled to the brim with Central Americans fleeing poverty and violence, say they are unable to cope with the asylum seekers expected to be returned starting on Friday.

Dubbed the "Migrant Protection Protocols", the policy was first announced by US President Donald Trump's administration on December 20.

The policy will return non-Mexican migrants who cross the US southern border back to wait in Mexico indefinitely while their asylum requests are processed in US immigration courts.

Mexican Foreign Ministry spokesman Roberto Velasco said the US was expected to send the first group of 20 asylum seekers back to its territory later on Friday through Tijuana.

Japan's Supreme Court upholds transgender sterilization requirement
[NBC] Japan’s Supreme Court has upheld a law that effectively requires transgender people to be sterilized before they can have their gender changed on official documents.

The court said the law is constitutional because it was meant to reduce confusion in families and society. But it acknowledged that it restricts freedom and could become out of step with changing social values.

The 2004 law states that people wishing to register a gender change must have their original reproductive organs, including testes or ovaries, removed and have a body that "appears to have parts that resemble the genital organs" of the gender they want to register.

The unanimous decision by a four-judge panel, published Thursday, rejected an appeal by Takakito Usui, a transgender man who said forced sterilization violates the right to self-determination and is unconstitutional.

Usui, 45, had appealed to the top court after he unsuccessfully requested lower courts to grant him legal recognition as male without having his female reproductive glands surgically removed.

Despite the unanimous decision, presiding justice Mamoru Miura joined another justice in saying that while the law may not violate the constitution, "doubts are undeniably emerging," according to Usui’s lawyer, Tomoyasu Oyama.

The two judges proposed regular reviews of the law and appropriate measures "from the viewpoint of respect for personality and individuality," according to Japanese media reports.

Greek MPs narrowly approve name deal with Macedonia
[PRESSTV] The Greek parliament on Friday narrowly ratified a landmark deal to rename neighboring Macedonia, ending one of the world's longest diplomatic disputes and earning rich praise for the "historic" move.

A total of 153 MPs in the 300-seat Greek parliament approved the name Republic of North Macedonia despite widespread public opposition. The change had already been ratified by Macedonian politicians on January 11.

Since 1991, Athens has objected to its neighbor being called Macedonia because Greece has a northern province of the same name. In ancient times, it was the cradle of Alexander the Great's empire, a source of intense pride for Greeks.

Trump, Congress agree to end longest government shutdown
WASHINGTON (AP) ‐ Submitting to mounting pressure and growing disruption, President Donald Trump agreed to a deal Friday to reopen the government for three weeks, backing down from his demand that Congress give him money for his border wall before federal agencies get back to work.

Standing alone in the Rose Garden, Trump said he would sign legislation funding shuttered agencies until Feb. 15 and try again to persuade lawmakers to finance his long-sought wall. The deal he reached with congressional leaders contains no new money for the wall.

Trump’s retreat came in the 35th day of the partial shutdown as intensifying delays at the nation’s airports and a missed payday for hundreds of thousands of federal workers brought new urgency to efforts to resolve the standoff.

The shutdown was ending as Democratic leaders had insisted it must ‐ reopen the government first, then talk border security. "The president thought he could crack Democrats and he didn’t and I hope it’s a lesson for him," said the Senate Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said of her members: "Our unity is our power. And that is what maybe the president underestimated."

Trump still made the case for a border wall and maintained he might again shut down the government over it. Whatever negotiations restart next, Trump enters them from a weakened position. Recent polls found Trump bore the blame for the shutdown.

"If we don’t get a fair deal from Congress, the government will either shut down on Feb. 15, again, or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws and Constitution of the United States to address this emergency," Trump said. He has been considering declaring a national emergency in order to fund the border wall unilaterally, a move that would almost certainly face legal hurdles.

He said a bipartisan committee of lawmakers would be formed to consider border spending before the new deadline.

"They are willing to put partisanship aside, I think, and put the security of the American people first," Trump said. He asserted that "barrier or walls will be an important part of the solution."

Congress was expected to vote on the plan swiftly.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate will pass legislation on Friday and he hopes there will be "good-faith negotiations over the next three weeks to try to resolve our differences" on border security.

Schumer said Democrats oppose the wall money but agree on other ways to secure the border "and that bodes well for coming to an eventual agreement." The House also was expected to vote Friday to approve the deal.

Within the White House there was broad recognition among Trump’s aides Friday that the shutdown pressure was growing and they couldn’t keep the standoff going indefinitely. The president’s approval numbers had suffered during the impasse, and Republicans were openly calling on him to back down from his demands and reopen the government.

Sukkur police official kills fiancée, uncle 'over honour'
[DAWN] A Sindh police official in Sukkur rubbed out his paternal uncle and fiancée on Friday and later confessed to killing the two allegedly over honour, DawnNewsTV reported.

The incident took place near Launch Mor area on Sukkur city's Miani Road where the suspect stormed into his uncle's flat and opened indiscriminate fire, killing his 65-year-old uncle and his daughter on the spot.

Upon receiving word of the incident, the police arrived at the flat and shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the dear departed's relatives.

Sukkur SSP Irfan Samoon later met the relatives of the victims and sought information from them. The victim's heirs were reluctant to give a statement to DawnNewsTV as the suspect and victims all belonged to the same family.

Later in the day, the police placed in durance vile
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
the suspect officer along with the murder weapon ‐ a state-issued G3 rifle. The SSP confirmed the arrest, and the recovery of the murder weapon, saying an investigation will be conducted according to the law.

Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Standing Buffalo drew a bead on his old enemy and squeezed the trigger...
the suspect confessed to killing his uncle and cousin. While speaking to DawnNewsTV, the suspect said his marriage had been arranged with his uncle's daughter but he had doubts over her "character".

The arrested official said he warned her to "not engage in adultery" and even spoke to his uncle about the matter but the uncle "did not disapprove of such behaviour".

The woman was a divorcee and this would have been her second marriage.

When questioned by coppers to describe fully the account of the murder, the police officer said: "I was in an emotional state. She was cooking in the kitchen when I went over to shoot her and my uncle was on the prayer mat, preparing to offer his prayers."

The officer, whose confession was recorded on video, goes on to say: "No one else was around except for her 12-year-old son who heard the firing and bravely ran away."

He then admitted to using the G3 rifle issued to him for duty and said he was in uniform at the time of the incident and had acted alone.

Malaysia Airlines to drop word 'pork' from in-flight magazine after social media furore
[The Straits Times] KUALA LUMPUR - The word "pork" will now be dropped from the Malaysia Airlines in-flight magazine, in response to a recent social media furore where the national carrier was wrongly accused of publishing a picture of a pork dish.

Articles on restaurants in the Going Places magazine may instead use the words "non-halal" (forbidden in Islam), reported The Malay Mail, and not mention pork dishes available on the restaurants' menu.

The issue first came to the fore when a reader in the Muslim-majority country complained that the airline was being insensitive for carrying a picture of a pork dish in its feature on the Curious Kitchen restaurant in the January edition.

The article went viral on social media and sparked anger among Muslims who accused Malaysia Airlines of promoting pork.

The carrier apologised, but also clarified that the image complained about was actually of Wagyu beef slices and cuttlefish.

Michael Jackson's estate slams abuse documentary
PARK CITY, Utah (AP) ‐ The Latest on the documentary "Leaving Neverland" which includes detailed allegations by two men that Michael Jackson sexually molested them when they were boys.

Michael Jackson’s estate is blasting a documentary that tells the stories of two men who accuse Michael Jackson of sexually molesting them when they were young boys, calling the film "tabloid character assassination."

A statement released by Jackson’s estate late Friday calls the men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, "two perjurers" ‐ a reference to sworn statements the men gave when Jackson was alive that he had not abused them. The men leveled their abuse allegations after Jackson’s death.

The pair’s stories are the basis for "Leaving Neverland," a four-hour documentary that will air later this year on HBO and Channel 4 in Britain. It earned a somber standing ovation after its premiere at Sundance on Friday.

The estate accuses the film of focusing too much on Robson and Safechuck and ignoring others who spent significant time with Jackson and "stated that he treated children with respect and did nothing hurtful to them."

Study: Humans Love Dogs More than They Love Other Humans
[PJ] I have two children ‐ two human children, to be clear. The fact that I actually have to clarify what species my children are is annoying, nonsensical, and demonstrates how far down the rabbit hole of absurdity our society has plunged. If you doubt the need for my clarification, let me introduce you to a recent study that reveals that many humans love dogs more than they love other humans.

First, though, let me make it clear that dogs are not humans. Dogs are not even close to being humans, and treating them even remotely like a human is a self-contradictory action. Yet, as the Independent points out, "According to two studies, we’re more likely to empathise with struggling dogs than people in difficulty."

One of the studies began with the researchers circulating two solicitations for donations. Both solicitations asked, "Would you give £5 to save Harrison from a slow, painful death?" In one, Harrison was a human boy; in the other, a dog. Guess which Harrison received the most positive responses.

Delta Airlines Answers the In-Flight Air Filtration Question
[The Drive] Everybody farts. It's one of those comforting truisms in life‐until you're crowded into an enclosed space with 300 other people, forced to breathe in some choice flatus. A Delta Airlines frequent flier recently raised that very concern to the company on Twitter, and surprise of surprises, whoever runs the account took it seriously enough to provide the answer we've all been waiting to hear. Short answer: Yes, there is a fart filter. Sort of.

The flatological story started off when a Twitter user named DJ Rankan posted a frightening statistic claiming passengers expel around 368 liters (that's about 13 cubic feet) of gas during the average flight and pleading with Delta to say there's some sort of fart filter on board. That number is in fact a little bloated‐it comes from this non-scientific study by The Sun last year, and it's their guess at how much gas the 525 passengers on a fully-loaded Airbus A380 would pass in total during a 13-hour flight. Still, the visual of 13 cubic feet of pure fart is an arresting one.

Not to mention the "olfactory" of 13 cubic feet, etc.

#2  You know those vents that bring in fresh air?
Tapped off of the engine compressor stages.
So the air has to be allowed to bleed out of the cabin, or it would blow up like a balloon, right?
Mostly through the luggage compartment under the floor and then outside.
(Now you know what chemtrails are...)
