Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Arrested For Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Two-Year-Old
[MPN News] NEW YORK ‐ The 22-year-old co-founder of a charity that advocates for victims of sexual violence was arrested on Tuesday in New York for possession of child pornography and for working to arrange sexual encounters with children as young as two years old. Joel Davis ‐ who helped found Youth to End Sexual Violence, and chaired the UN’s International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence in Conflict ‐ has been charged with several counts, including attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity, after exchanging messages with undercover federal agents earlier this month.

During those text message exchanges, Davis had told undercover law enforcement officers that he was sexually interested in children of all ages, including infants, and had sent the officers explicit photographs of infants and toddlers. Some of the photos showed the minors engaged in sexual activity with adults.

Davis, who had previously been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015 and had served as the U.S.’ Youth Ambassador on Sexual Violence in Conflict, also told the officers of his intention to engage in sexual activities with an undercover officer’s nine-year-old daughter and the two-year-old daughter of the officer’s girlfriend. He is alleged to have gone into great detail about the sexual activities he wished to perform with the children.

Tampa woman’s friend killed by lightning strike, right in front of her
You've got as much chance of that happening as you do of being struck by lightning. Or your new boyfriend being struck by lightning.
[TAMPABAY] As the rain poured, Karen Zannone’s new friend turned around and flashed a smile.

Zannone and James Barton had spent hours at the beach Sunday before the storm moved in. Now they were hustling back to Barton’s car, but neither minded the refreshing dousing.

"I remember him looking into my eyes and saying, ‘This is so great, I love the rain,’?" Zannone recalled. "I said, ‘I love the rain, too.’ We were definitely hurrying up to get back, but he was very happy."

The rain began to fall harder as Barton walked a half step ahead of her. Suddenly, Zannone felt a shock and saw a flash of light. She was thrown backward.

Her body buzzing and paralyzed, Zannone looked up from the ground in time to see Barton standing still, frozen like a mannequin. Then the 33-year-old Seffner plumbing contractor toppled over, face first, onto the sand.

"I thought I was dying," Zannone said, sobbing as she recalled the moment, "but I thought, ‘I have to help him. I can’t let this happen to him.’?"

Elderly Anglican Priest Defends Marriage to 25-Year-Old Romanian Male Model
[Breitbart London] A 79-year-old gay Anglican priest in the U.K. has defended his marriage to a 25-year-old male model from Romania, insisting he is not "a dirty old man" but just wants "to show people we are normal."

Appearing Thursday on "The Jeremy Kyle Show" with husband Florin Marin, the Rev. Philip Clements, a retired rector and boarding school chaplain, said he is not being taken advantage of despite buying Marin a house in Romania and letting him see other men.

The now retired vicar, who married Marin last year after meeting him on Gaydar two years earlier, said that the younger man was not a gold-digger, adding that their rocky relationship was "not quite as simple" as the media had made it out to be.

The couple faced criticism after it was revealed that Rev. Clements had sold his £215,000 home in Sandwich, Kent, to buy an apartment in Bucharest, where Mr. Marin is originally from. Clements was reportedly left penniless when the couple split up five months into their marriage.

#3  To clarify... if a boy vicar and a girl vicar love each other very much -- enough to get married, say -- there's a fair chance that neither of them are gay. You're the math guy, but it seems to me that's as close as we'll get to proof of existence. I mean, it's not as if a sane person could understand what say, anymore, let alone believe it if xe could.

China-Japan-Koreas
US ends 70 years of military presence in South Korean capital
[DAWN] The United States formally ended seven decades of military presence in South Korea’s capital on Friday with a ceremony to mark the opening of a new headquarters farther from North Korean artillery range.

The command’s move to Camp Humphreys, about 70 kilometres south of Seoul, comes amid a fledgling detente on the Korean Peninsula, though the relocation was planned long before that. Most troops have already transferred to the new location, and the US says the remaining ones will move by the end of this year.

The US military had been headquartered in Seoul’s central Yongsan neighbourhood since American troops first arrived at the end of World War II. The Yongsan Garrison was a symbol of the US-South Korea alliance but its occupation of prime real estate was also a long-running source of friction.

#1  They were talking about moving out in '88. So, that's 30 years. Obviously, a government program between two bureaucracies. BTW, Yongsan is about as prime realtor pickings as anything in the world. Someone is making Big Won. Who gets the golf course?
Posted by: Procopius2k || 07/01/2018 7:37 Comments || Top||

#2  Oh, most of the golf course became a city park years ago. But the remainder of Yongsan will be rich pickings for whoever takes it over. (When it was a Japanese garrison in the 20s-1945, it was a good distance from Seoul itself.) There are some quite lovely old buildings, a bunch of modernish ones, the Dragon Hill Lodge highrise, a great many small cottages that were Japanese officer quarters ... and lots and lots of wooded parklands and gardens. In summer, it was like a green island in the center of Seoul. I imagine it will be harder to replace all the little establishments - the bicycle repair shop, the little community theater clubhouse, the OWC gift shop, and all the small clubs. It was inevitable, though - too big, and too much a thumb in the eye for Koreans. Bet the bars, shops and whores in Itawewan will miss the place, though.

#1  The problem is how to treat information. Is it valid or fake? Those out to bring down Trump could be doing this to undermine his standing or the Norks could well indeed be cheating. Both have equal believability based upon the actions of both parties.

#2  The MSM could be spreading disinformation. Kim could really be cheating. How does one sort it out? This a.m. Trump was asked that question about Kim cheating. He said he didn't think so but he admitted the possibilty of deceit. With surveillance being what it is, it would seem that increased nuke activity would be hard to hide.

#4  The NORK track record certainly leaves a bit to be desired. Thankfully, orbiting photo imagery platforms provide a wealth of intelligence, as do signals collectors.

Measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT) Continuous Particulate Air Monitors (CPAMs) have also come a very long way in monitoring nuclear facilities and assessing levels of airborne particulate radioactivity (APR).

MASINT, Signals, and Immagery, along with Human Intelligence (HUMINT) can paint a pretty accurate "All Source" picture of what may be taking place.

Different topic, but the great strides in MASINT capabilities make one question the accuracy (befuddlement) of U.S. reporting having to do with the recent rash of Embassy illnesses.

Absence of Rao Anwar’s lawyer irks SHC
[DAWN] The Sindh High Court on Friday expressed displeasure over the absence of a counsel representing suspended SSP Rao Anwar in a petition challenging a notification of declaring his house a sub-jail.

The then SSP Malir along with his subordinates has been facing trial before an antiterrorism court for allegedly killing Naseem Ullah, better known as Naqeebullah Mehsud and three others in a staged encounter on Jan 13 in a Malir locality.

Mohammad Khan, father of Naqeeb, through his lawyer moved the SHC.

When the petition came up for hearing before the two-judge bench of the SHC headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi on Friday, advocate Abid Zuberi, counsel for Rao Anwar, was found absent.

The bench expressed resentment over his absence and directed to ensure his presence on July 2.

The petitioner contended that on April 21, when Rao Anwar was sent to prison on judicial remand by trial court, the home department had issued a notification declaring his house sub-jail and such remarkable speed clearly indicated that it was issued with mala fide intentions and even otherwise, clearly showed that it must have been pre-dated.

The petitioner further submitted that such favouritism and nepotism in favour of the suspended SSP was clearly mala fide since the notification failed to disclose any credible information regarding serious threats to his life.

Rape of 7-yr-old girl sparks angry protests in India
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Thousands of people erupted into the streets in central India this week demanding the death penalty
for assailants who raped a seven-year-old girl lured away from school as she waited to be picked up by her parents.

Two men have been placed in durance vile
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
for the crime in the city of Mandsaur, police said. The victim was hospitalized but is recovering, doctors said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government introduced the death penalty for rape of girls under 12 and increased the minimum punishment for those whose victims were under 16, after the rapes of an eight-year-old girl and a young woman in two states ruled by his party earlier this year led to public protests.

There were 40,000 rapes reported in India in 2016 and the victims were children in 40 percent of those cases. Every day, newspapers carry fresh stories of sexual violence against women.

In Mandsaur, the girl was waiting to be picked up from school by her parents, who were running late, police said. CCTV footage, accessed from nearby shops, showed her walking away with one of the accused.

Police later found the victim unconscious in nearby bushes, said Manoj Singh, a police superintendent in the Mandsaur district.

The two men were in jug, he added.

"Our investigation is almost complete," Singh said. "We are waiting for the doctors to permit us to talk to the victim. We just want to confirm a few things with her and then we will put up the final report in court."

Singh said thousands of people held street protests in about eight cities in the region, many seeking the death penalty for the accused.

Shivraj Chauhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh state, where Mandsaur is located, has also demanded the death penalty for those found guilty, according to news reports.

Experts eye prospects for change in Iran at big Paris exile conference, with praise for Trump
[American Thinker] In Paris Friday, freedom-loving Iranians held a major "Free Iran 2018" conference, featuring a panel discussion with experts from the U.S., Canada, France, and Algeria, discussing the consequences of recent protests in Iran along with what's going on with the Iranian opposition. Among them, there were experts who praised both Iran's top opposition leader, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, and President Trump.

The panel discussion was a public exchange of ideas, giving experts and audience members the chance to discuss the difference between what we saw before in past protests and what we see now going on in Iran.

According to a National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI) report, Ambassador Mitchell Reiss, a former director of U.S. State Department policy, who moderated the event, said, "Today Madame Rajavi [the leader of NCRI] is widely respected as the inspiration behind the democratic movement for change in Iran," adding that the current momentum is on the side of those who want a democratic Iran. "Credit must go first and foremost to Madame Maryam Rajavi and the members of NCRI," Reiss said, reminding listeners of the role the Iranian opposition played in the protests.

Fallout: University of Missouri struggles with $50 million shortfall, reduced enrollment after racial protests
[College Fix] The school has suffered from a negative public image and reduced funding in the wake of the protests. State funding cuts and continuing depressed enrollment resulted in a $49 million budget shortfall. To cope, the administration laid off 30 employees and permanently eliminated 155 vacant positions.

A Missouri state representative told The College Fix that the university is "more concerned about the money, and image, than the student." College students who decided not to attend University of Missouri said that the environment created by the protests, as well as high costs and unfavorable funding options, caused them to turn to other schools.
If your Schadenboner lasts more than 4 hours...
Mizzou has lost a third of freshmen in two years ‐ even after enrollment jump this fall. Earlier this year the university announced that freshman enrollment increased by 14 percent for the fall 2018 semester. Freshman enrollment still remains below that of fall 2015.

The increase in this year's freshman class will allow the university to reopen several dorms that were closed in 2016 on account of decreased enrollment, The Columbia Tribune reported earlier this year.

Increasing enrollment may be due to a large public relations campaign the university launched this year, which Fox News reports cost the administration $1.3 million.

Fat Dweeb Filmmaker Accused Of Sexual Harrassment
Never heard of the guy, but why let that fact stop us from piling on?
[MSN] Chilean filmmaker Nicolás López has been accused of sexual misconduct and harassment by multiple women, including by at least one actress who appeared in one of his films.

The report, published in the Spanish-language magazine El Mercurio on Saturday, features eight women who accuse López of various acts of misconduct, ranging from online harassment to unwanted groping to masturbating in front of one woman without her consent.

López, who made his start in Spanish-language movies such as "Promedio Rojo" and the "Que Pena Tu Vida" series, has also collaborated with director Eli Roth on several U.S. releases, co-writing the English-language horror movies "Aftershock" and "Knock Knock."
