Asadullah Khalid: Taliban Militants Still Operates From Pakistan
[KhaamaPress] Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid on Tuesday’s Parliament meeting, that the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
still have operating bases in Quetta and Miranshah
... headquarters of al-Qaeda in Pakistain and likely location of Ayman al-Zawahiri. The Haqqani network has established a ministate in centered on the town with courts, tax offices and lots of madrassas...
, of Pakistain from where they operate and being sent to Afghanistan for conducting terrorist acts.

The Taliban still have bases in Pakistain, are being trained there and then sent to fight in Afghanistan, resided there and still, their maimed are receiving medical treatments, Defense Minister Assadullah Khalid told the House of Representatives today.

Khalid says, 96% of the military operations are under the supervision of Afghan cops, and four other remaining percentages are the supportive Arclight airstrike

s by the international coalition forces.

In addition, talks with the Taliban in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
had hampered the security forces’ achievements, else the Afghan defense forces would acquire further achievements on the battlefield.

He said the Taliban had used the Qatar office to held talks on peace and ceasefire, on the other hand, escalated their insurgency activities around the country, in view of the fact that security forces honor peace negotiations, they were ordered to take defensive positions.

This is while the cabinet ministers are presenting their plans to the Wolesi Jirga for a vote, and today, the Minister of National Defense, Asadullah Khalid, presented his plan, respectively.

ANDSF Conducts 96% of Operations Independently: Khalid
[ToloNews] Asadullah Khalid, the nominee for the Ministry of Defense, said the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) are conducting 96% of their operations independently, referring to concerns about a possible withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.

Khalid said that the Afghan forces receive air support from international forces when they are in need, bud added that "their land operations are conducted independently."

Khalid said he has three priorities and one of them is improving the security of the country’s highways. He also mentioned that another priority is to reduce the costs of the military without cutting their capability.

The third priority, Khalid said, is to retake areas that have fallen to the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
after 2014.

Khalid said the people should not worry about the withdrawal of international troops from the country. "It's also possible that the number of foreign troops might increase in Afghanistan," he said.

Khalid said the Taliban’s plan to capture Kunduz, Uruzgan, Farah, and Ghazni province has been foiled by Afghan forces.

"Afghan forces have retaken nine districts (from the Taliban) and they have freed 700 Afghan security force members from Taliban prisoners," Khalid said.

He said the Defense Ministry has planned to create "Ranger" military units in the coming year that would operate under Army corps in various parts of the country in order to reduce pressure on Afghan commandos.

Britain
UK Labour to readmit Corbyn after antisemitism suspension - report
[Jpost] The former leader of Britannia's Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn will be readmitted after he was suspended from the party for downplaying a report that detailed serious failings in its handling of antisemitism complaints, The Guardian reported.
Goodness — a whole twenty days in the Time Out Corner. I’m sure he’s learnt his lesson from that.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission said in October it had found evidence of failure to adequately train people investigating alleged antisemitism, political interference in the processing of complaints, and harassment of individuals.

Current leader Keir Starmer has been trying to make a clean break from the hard-left Corbyn era as he seeks to turn around Labour's fortunes after four successive general election defeats since 2010.
Organizations develop personalities of their own, nearly impossible to change once they’re set. But it was nice that the guy with the Jewish wife and kids tried.
Earlier on Tuesday, Corbyn sought to draw a line under the issue.

"I hope this matter is resolved as quickly as possible, so that the party can work together to root out antisemitism and unite to oppose and defeat this deeply damaging Conservative government," he wrote on Facebook.
The Times of Israel adds:
Evidently discomfited by the decision by the committee, which he does not control, Starmer tweeted Tuesday evening that the decision marked “another painful day for the Jewish community and those Labour members who have fought so hard to tackle anti-Semitism.” He said he would “not allow a focus on one individual to prevent us from doing the vital work of tackling anti-semitism. When I stood as leader of the Labour Party, I was clear that my first priority would be to root out anti-Semitism. It still is.”

'If not peace, let it be war': Aliyev says he won't negotiate anymore with Armenia on Karabakh
[ALMASDARNEWS] Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said on Tuesday that there can be no negotiations on Karabakh’s status."I have repeatedly said that we will not allow the creation of a second Armenian state in the original Azerbaijani lands," Aliyev said in a speech to citizens broadcast by state TV channel AZTV.

He claimed: "I have repeatedly said that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan cannot be a subject for negotiations," adding that "Azerbaijan will restore its territorial integrity," noting that "if it is not peaceful, then it will be military."

The Azerbaijani president concluded that "there is a single, multi-ethnic, multi-sectarian, progressive Azerbaijani state in which representatives of all religions live normally, in conditions of peace and mutual understanding, and we have a relationship with the Armenian people."

A video clip has previously been spread showing people in Karabakh returning to their homes under Russian protection.

At the end of September, the situation in Karabakh escalated, and Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of escalating the conflict that had continued since the late 1980s.

All participants declared full or partial mobilization, and fighting began, resulting in casualties among the civilian population.

Finally, on the night of November10 , Moscow, Baku and Yerevan signed a tripartite ceasefire agreement to end the war.

The Grand Turk
Snubbed by Turkish officials, Pompeo meets with leader of Orthodox Christians
[IsraelTimes] US State Secretary Mike Pompeo meets with the Istanbul-based spiritual leader of the world’s Orthodox Christians during a short trip to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
that has raised the ire of Ottoman Turkish officials and includes no meetings with any of them.

Pompeo, who is on a seven-country tour of Europa

and the Middle East, tweets pictures of him being greeted by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, the leader of some 300 million Orthodox Christians, after being shown around the Patriarchate. He is also scheduled to meet with the apostolic nuncio to Turkey, Archbishop Paul Russell.

The talks are to center on religious freedoms in Turkey, which has angered Ankara and prompted officials to call on Washington to focus on human rights

Last week, Turkey issued a sharply worded statement criticizing Pompeo’s plans and said Washington should "look in the mirror" and deal with issues such as racism, Islamophobia

Republicans Slam Trump’s Plan to Reduce Troops in Afghanistan
[ToloNews] US Congressional Republicans on Monday slammed President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
’s plan for a swift reduction of US forces in Afghanistan, warning that it would be a gift to America’s enemies.

"A rapid withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan now would hurt our allies and delight the people who wish us harm," US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said.

US media reported on Tuesday that President Donald Trump is pushing to accelerate the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.

"We’re playing a limited, limited but important role in defending American national security and American interests against terrorists," said Mitch McConnell.

"That’s why last year, 70 senators, a bipartisan super majority voted for an amendment I authored, it acknowledged the progress made in Syria and Afghanistan, identified the risks that remain, and cautioned that precipitous withdrawal would create vacuums that Iran, Russia and the bully boyz would be delighted, delighted to fill," McConnell said.

He said violence affecting Afghans is still rampant, the "Taliban
...Arabic for students...
is not abiding by the conditions of the so-called peace deal."

"The consequences of a premature American exit would likely be even worse than President Obama’s withdrawal from Iraq back in 2011," McConnell said.

The US Senate majority leader said that a premature withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan would "embolden the Taliban, especially the deadly Haqqani wing, and risk plunging Afghan women and girls back into what they experienced, back in the 1990s."

Under a draft order circulating at the Pentagon on Monday, the number of US forces in Afghanistan would be halved from the current deployment of 4,500 troops, The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported, quoting US officials.

McConnell said the US troops withdrawal from Afghanistan would be welcome news to Iran, "which has long provided arms and support to the Taliban and explicitly seeks our retreat from the Middle East."

"A disorganized retreat would jeopardize the track record of major successes this administration has worked hard to compile," McConnell said.

This comes as Defense Ministry on Monday said that the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are capable to defend the country if there is a withdrawal of international forces from the country. But Afghan experts have said the withdrawal should be done responsibly.

Countries in the region, including Pakistain, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and Russia have also asked for a responsible withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.

The reports come as violence has significantly increased in the country despite peace efforts. Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his other shoulder......
the peace negotiations in Doha have stalled over differences on ground rules for the talks.
NATO has under 12,000 troops in Afghanistan, of which more than half are non-US forces. “Even with further US [forces] reductions, NATO will continue its mission to train, advise and assist the Afghan security forces,” said NATO in a statement Tuesday

#10

Not just the Republicans.
The Socialists-Democrats also have deep Military Industrial complex ties and make $$ millions in income from our semi-wars also.

Why do we keep maiming and killing our US Soldiers using them as the Worlds Peace keeping Police?
When the Immigrants from those countries, we were protecting then come to the USA to set up a mini-version of their Old FAILED culture and situation?
Then bring the Threat here... and even run and hold Federal level political offices.

My position is simple.
If it is not an attack on America, and a declared war, with the clear goal of eliminating the Enemy.
Then with what we pay the UN each year, let them vote to use UN Peace Keepers to handle it or not.

#13  The point of the endless war without victory in Afghanistan is to keep troops there. It's an outpost in a global empire. The Taliban - pah! A sideshow. US troops are near Pakistan's nuclear weapons and can invade if necessary. CIA can recruit Uighurs to cause trouble for China. And Afghanistan is near China's belt & road project, which US forces can invade and sever if necessary.

It's hugely expensive being a global empire, but the US government less Trump is totally in favor of it. Their sons won't die in these wars, so why do they care? It's not their money, either.

#15  Send hundreds of 000s of our troops to battle non-existent threats abroad

What utter and total nonsense. Yes, the threat embedded itself here at home decades ago, when the Muslim Brotherhood first arrived and settled. CAIR, ISNA, the Holy Land Foundation, agents of Iran’s Mad Mullahs... we all here know the list. But the threat came from out there, continues to be very active out there, and connects with the embedded threat here at home whenever possible. Somali lads and Al Shabaab, Yemeni lads and Al Qaeda in Arabia, everywhere else lads and ISIS, Lebanese/Iranians and Hezbollah, Palestinians and Hamas, Pakistanis and pretty much everyone — they connect by family, by phone and internet. So we cannot fix the problems here at home without doing something about the problem out there.

For twenty years we’ve been out there, killing tens of thousands of bad guys connected to the bad guys here at home, tracing the connections, learning which tribes and clans and families make up the various organizations and how the organizations interconnect with each other. We may be withdrawing the troops, but we won’t be able to turn our back on the world completely. It’ll just be spies and Special Forces raids, and lots of people spending long hours monitoring the internet and interpreting satellite photos instead.

India-Pakistan
Govt claims TLP has agreed to end protest demonstration in Islamabad
[DAILYTIMES.PK] The federal government late on Monday night claimed that it has succeeded in convincing Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) to end their sit-in. However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
no announcement in this regard was made by TLP chief Khadim Rizvi till the filing of this report. Instead, several of TLP activists in their social media posts termed the claim by the government as ’fake’ and said that any decision to end sit-in will be announced only by the party chief Khadim Rizvi.
The reported negotiations with TLP were held on the directions of the prime minister by a team of government officials led by Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri. The government’s negotiation party also included Interior Minister Ijaz Shah, Islamabad Commissioner Aamir Ahmed and prime minister’s adviser Shehzad Akbar.

Sources said TLP chief Khadim Rizvi insisted on immediate release of all arrested people of the party, and warned that the sit-in will continue till the release of all arrested people. Sources said most of the issues between the two sides had been agreed upon and that proper announcement by TLP to call off sit-in will be made by Khadim Rizvi after settlement of the remaining issues.

Earlier in the day on Monday, the situation remained tense in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi as Tehrik-e-Labaik Pakistain (TLP) continued their sit-in on Faizabad interchange for a second day while festivities were also reported between police and TLP activists. The residents of twin cities faced the situation like in November 2017 when Tehrik-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah occupied Faizabad for 23 days. Once again, thousands of Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) activists gathered at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi to stage rally against the blasphemous caricatures published in La Belle France. They planned to hold a march up to Faizabad on Sunday to protest against the blasphemous caricatures, but were denied permission by the district administrations of both Rawalpindi and Islamabad owing to their violent mostly peaceful history. The supporters of Khadim Hussain Rizvi, despite the road blocks, gathered at Liaquat Bagh Sunday afternoon and after a prolonged confrontation with the riot police, they managed to reach Faizabad interchange.

All kinds of public transport including metro bus service in twin cities remained suspended due to the sit-in. The cellular services in Rawalpindi region and some parts of Islamabad also remained suspended while containers have been placed at all important roads, much to the inconvenience to the commuters. The local administrations of Rawalpindi and Islamabad warned organisers and activists of the TLP to immediately vacate Faizabad area but they have announced not to budge until their demands are met. The protesters are demanding that the government severs diplomatic ties with La Belle France and expels its ambassador. Majority of markets and shopping centers here in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were also closed due to poor law and order situation for the last two days. There was a thin presence of employees in government and private offices because all main entries to the deferral capital were sealed. Majority of parents did not send their children to schools on Monday.

Police blocked the demonstrators as they attempted to enter Islamabad. Some chanted that the only punishment for a blasphemer was beheading, a police official said. The protesters attacked the police with bricks, stones and sticks and several of coppers were reportedly injured. The protesters damaged private vehicles by throwing stones at different roads of the city.

Palestinians restore ties with Israel
[Jpost] PA Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said that the Palestinians have received a written document in which Israel pledges to abide by all the agreements with the Palestinians.

The Paleostinian Authority on Tuesday said it has decided to renew its relations with Israel, including security coordination, after receiving assurances that Israel would abide by the signed agreements with the Paleostinians.

The announcement was made by Hussein al-Sheikh, head of the PA General Authority for Civil Affairs, who is in charge of coordination between the Paleostinians and Israel.

#2  Wonder if Biden remembers the time his bloviating bullshit & bullying provoked Menachem Begin to humiliate Biden in front of the Sebate and the world:

In 1982, Biden thought he could appeal to the perceived nativism of the Dixiecrats by publicly threatening to cut off aid to the Jewish state. In July of that year, he used an appearance of Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin before the Senate Finance Committee to threaten to cut off aid to Israel.

After enduring Biden’s fist-pounding tirade, Begin responded with the eloquence that was his trademark. Looking directly at Biden, Menachem Begin said:

“Don’t threaten us with cutting off aid to Israel. It will not work. I am not a Jew with trembling knees. I am a proud Jew with 3,700 years of civilized history. Nobody came to our aid when we were dying in the gas chambers and ovens Nobody came to our aid we were striving to create our country. We paid for it. We fought for it. We died for it. We will stand by our principles. We will defend them. And, when necessary, we will die for them again, with or without your aid.”

The always proper and dignified Begin then lectured Biden on his manners. Looking directly at him he said, “This desk is designed for writing, not for fists.” Biden’s behavior was so out of line that immediately after Senator Moynihan approached the Jewish Prime Minister and praised him for his cutting reply.
