Calls mount to investigate killing of San Diego Jewish dentist as a hate crime
[IsraelTimes] Benjamin Harouni allegedly rubbed out by 29-year-old Mohammed Abdulkareem; multiple Jewish advocacy groups demand police look at antisemitism as motive; mayor vows to ’get to truth’

The brother of a San Diego-area Jewish dentist killed at his office on Thursday says Benjamin Harouni was "murdered in cold blood" in an act of hate and pledged to set up a nonprofit to combat hatred in his memory.

Local police have not declared the incident a hate crime, saying that the motive for the shooting remains under investigation and noting that the alleged murderer appears to have been "a disgruntled former customer" of Harouni’s dental practice.

Far-left activists accost AOC, demanding she call Israel’s war on Hamas ‘genocide’
No enemies to the left doesn’t work when those to your left realise you’re on their right.
[IsraelTimes] Far-left, pro-Paleostinian protesters accosted Democratic Squad Representative Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez

a "genocide."

Footage shows Ocasio-Cortez angrily telling the handful of hecklers that she has in fact done so, though it was not clear when. In a late January interview, she went as far as to say that a growing number of Americans view the term to accurately describe the situation in Gaza and that they shouldn’t be dismissed.

Monday’s incident appeared to highlight the radical nature of many of the anti-Israel demonstrators in the US, who are turning on some of the most progressive members of Congress, including ones like Ocasio-Cortez who have been very vocal in their criticism of Israel and support for the Paleostinian cause.

"You refuse to call it a genocide," one of the protesters is heard shouting at Ocasio-Cortez as she leaves the theater. "It’s not okay that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it."

"You’re lying!" Ocasio-Cortez shouts back, later adding that she doesn’t want to engage with those filming her because she’s convinced they’ll only partially publish her response and take her remarks out of context.

"I already said that it was. And y’all are just gonna pretend that it wasn’t. Over and over again. It’s f—ed up man. And you’re not helping these people," Ocasio-Cortez says as she walks away.

#1  This isn't going to stop until the Iranians start feeling pain. We can do it - by ourselves if need be, but with allies - but it is going to take solid, no-kidding military action that continues until they say stop.

We can blockade their ports. We can set up a no-fly zone. It's going to take at least one more carrier, but if it means we have to wartime surge it then do so.

Enough's enough.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Aftermath: Sources identify militants killed in Ingushetia
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] During the counter-terrorism operation in Karabulak, security forces killed supporters of the Islamic State* Amirkhan Gurazhev, Zelimkhan Tsuroev, Magomed Barkinkhoev, Tagir Tsuroev, Mikail Tutaev and Bers Chemurziev, sources said.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, on March 3, security forces killed six alleged militants during a counter-terrorism operation (CTO) in Karabulak.

The CTO regime, provided for by the federal law “ On Counter-Terrorism,” allows for the removal of people from certain areas and objects, as well as a number of other restrictions, says the “Caucasian Knot” certificate “ Counter-Terrorist Operation (CTO) Regime.”

According to sources, during the CTO in Karabulak, 34-year-old Amirkhan Gurazhev (who was wanted for an attack on the Volga-14 post), 24-year-old Zelimkhan Tsuroev (in November 2023, was detained for promoting terrorism, then released on bail) were killed not to leave), 24-year-old Magomed Barkinkhoev, 32-year-old Tagir Tsuroev, 24-year-old Mikail Tutaev and 26-year-old Bers Chemurziev, reported today on the Sapa Caucasus telegram channel.

The investigation believes that all six were supporters of the Islamic State terrorist organization banned in Russia, the publication said.

A day earlier, on March 3, the RT in Russian channel, citing sources in the special services, published the names of those killed. The publication does not name the names, but the rest of the data coincides with those given by the source of Sapa. Caucasus. According to RT information, Amirkhan G., born in 1989, was killed; Zelimkhan Ts., born in 2000; Tagir Ts., born in 1991; Mikail T., born in 2000; Magomed B., born in 2000; Bers Ch., born in 1997.

Let us note that, as of 80.50 Moscow time on March 4, information about the identification of the dead has not been officially confirmed; there are no publications on the identification of the dead on the websites of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigation Department of the Republic.

Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia confirmed in its Telegram channel that one of the alleged participants in the attack on the Volga 24 traffic police post, Adam Ozdoev, is wanted.

Let us remind you that the counter-terrorism operation in Karabulak  was the second  in Ingushetia in 11 months. It was preceded by the CTO announced in April 2023 in the Malgobek region.

The attack on the Volga 24 traffic police post, located near the border of Ingushetia and North Ossetia, was carried out on March 28, 2023. Six residents of Ingushetia were put on the wanted list. After the attack on the police post, they exchanged fire with security forces twice more: on April 3, 2023 in Malgobek and on April 5, 2023 in Zyazikov-Yurt. They managed to escape.

During the battle in Zyazikov-Yurt, three security forces were killed and eight were wounded, which was the largest daily loss of security forces since August 2012. The "Caucasian Knot" has prepared a report "Activation of the armed underground in Ingushetia in the spring of 2023" on how these events developed.

Dagestan journalist demands the release of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Deputy editor-in-chief of Chernovik Magomed Magomedov, at a single picket in Makhachkala, demanded the release of the convicted editor of the publication Abdulmumin Gadzhiev.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, Abdulmumin Gadzhiev's colleagues consider his criminal case to be political persecution and regularly hold single pickets in his support. On February 26, as a week earlier, such  a picket was held at the traditional place - the intersection of Dakhadayev Street and Gamzatov Avenue - by the deputy chief editor of Chernovik, Magomed Magomedov.

The editor of the Chernovik newspaper, Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, as well as the head of the Ansar charitable foundation, Abubakar Rizvanov, and businessman Kemal Tambiev, were arrested in June 2019 on charges of financing terrorism. On September 12, 2023,  the court sentenced  Gadzhiev to 17 years in prison, Rizvanov to 18 years, and Kemal Tambiev to 17.5 years. The prosecution did not present convincing evidence in court, the defendants said in their final plea. Details of the case are collected in the Caucasian Knot material  “Golunov number two”: the main thing about the case of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev.”

Today Magomed Magomedov went out on a solo picket in support of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, he reported at 13.20 Moscow time in his telegram channel “Chernovik”. “In Makhachkala, at the intersection of Dakhadayev Street and R. Gamzatov Avenue, a single picket is being held demanding the release of the journalist of the Chernovik newspaper Abdulmumin Gadzhiev and the termination of the criminal case against him,” the publication says.

The message is illustrated with a photograph in which Magomedov stands with a poster: “Freedom for Abdulmumin Gadzhiev.” No other people are visible next to him in the frame.

Let us remind you that on January 29, “New Business” journalist Idris Yusupov * went out on a single picket in support of Gadzhiev, but security forces interfered with the action three times until it had to be completed due to the fact that another man unfurled a similar poster next to Yusupov.

Kadyrov's son took part in negotiations with the King of Jordan on assistance to Palestine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The Minister of Youth Affairs of Chechnya, Akhmat Kadyrov, during a meeting with the King of Jordan, discussed ways to provide assistance to the Palestinians, the head of Chechnya said.
What good does that do? Jordan doesn't rule over Gaza — Israel does. Nor does Jordan have the right to intercede with Israel for outsiders.
As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in November 2023, the 18-year-old son of the head of Chechnya, Akhmat Kadyrov, was appointed deputy minister for physical culture, sports and youth policy of the republic. A position of this level cannot be held by a person without completed higher education; this restriction is established by republican law, lawyers interviewed by the Caucasian Knot indicated. On February 17, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament Magomed Daudov announced that Akhmat Kadyrov had been appointed Minister of Youth Affairs in the republic. He was also awarded the highest award of Chechnya.

The Civil Service Law provides for the need for higher education to hold the position of minister; the prosecutor’s office can eliminate the discrepancy on its own initiative or at the request of citizens, lawyers noted, commenting on the appointment of Akhmat Kadyrov to the post of Minister of Youth Affairs. The work for Kadyrov’s son will be done by deputies and assistants, and in today’s Chechen realities it would be surprising if he did not receive a high post, the Caucasus expert emphasized.

King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Hussein Al-Hashimi received the Minister of the Chechen Republic for Youth Affairs Akhmat Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya announced today. He noted that the Kadyrov Foundation provides assistance to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. “However, the already existing humanitarian mission does not allow us to reach all those in need and requires us to take measures for a more accurate distribution of assistance in areas remote from the border,” Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his Telegram channel.

During the meeting, it was agreed that a certain part of the Fund’s total assistance would be delivered through the Jordanian air corridor by dropping containers by air in the most difficult areas where food shortages are greatest, the report said. Ramzan Kadyrov emphasized that his son “expressed a desire to personally participate in the humanitarian mission.”

Let us also note that on February 29, the head of Chechnya, quoting Putin’s message to the Federal Assembly in his Telegram channel, censored a fragment where the Russian President mentioned in a positive way the military from among the followers of Judaism.
I think the journalist is referring to the Israel Defence Forces, though there are also followers of Christ, Islam, and atheists among their number.
Analysts interviewed by the Caucasian Knot suggested that Kadyrov did this so as not to cause discontent among Muslims against the backdrop of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
Those scary Moslems being too sensitive to even hear mention that the hated Jewish state has an army?

Swiss president says ‘antisemitism has no place’ in country after Jewish man stabbed
Follow up to this story from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] President Viola Amherd says she is ’shocked’ by attack; 15-year-old suspect pledged allegiance to Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
, called for global fight against Jews

The Swiss president insisted Monday that "antisemitism has no place in Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
," after the brutal stabbing over the weekend of an Orthodox Jewish man, allegedly by a teenager pledging allegiance to the Islamic State group.

"The knife attack in Zurich shocked me," President Viola Amherd wrote on X, adding that her thoughts were with the victim and all Jewish citizens in the country.

Her comment came after the 50-year-old Orthodox Jewish man was stabbed in Switzerland’s largest city late Saturday, with police initially saying he had been "critically injured."

The Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities however told the Swiss news agency Keystone-ATS news agency Monday that the man’s life was no longer in danger.

A police statement on Sunday said the motives for the attack remained unclear but that Sherlocks were looking into the possibility that it was an "antisemitic crime."

A 15-year-old Swiss boy with a Tunisian background
Oh? How very interesting…
is suspected of carrying out the attack, the youth prosecutor’s office said Monday, adding that it was holding him in jug.

The suspect had made a video claiming responsibility for the attack, Zurich cantonal police chief Mario Fehr confirmed, during a presser. In the video, the teenager voices his allegiance to the Islamic State jihadist group and called for fighting Jews around the world, police said, according to Keystone-ATS.
The things they did not know when they were not discussing the yoot’s background the other day, but only insisting that he was a Swiss citizen..
The youth prosecutor’s office meanwhile said Sherlocks were looking into whether the attacker acted alone.

Police in Zurich announced Sunday they were hiking security around Jewish institutions as a "precautionary measure."
Another precautionary measure would be kicking out all those whose asylum applications were rejected — back to their home port, I mean, not just out of Switzerland.

Waste of the Day: U.S. Sent $1.2 Billion to Hamas-Backed UN Agency
[Clear Wire via Gateway] Topline: The U.S. government has given $1.2 billion to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency since April 2021, according to a report from OpenTheBooks.com.

UNRWA exists to provide humanitarian support for Palestinian refugees. But 10% of the agency’s employees are believed to have connections to the terrorist group Hamas, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report.

At least 12 employees were directly involved in the Oct. 7 attacks against Israel, including one teacher who allegedly kept a hostage in his attic for 50 days.

Home Front: Politix
AIPAC uncorks $100 million war chest to sink progressive candidates
the self-defense operation in Gaza has caused an unprecedented level of antisemitism in both the American right and left, and Israel needs more influence in the US government than ever if it is to survive this crisis.
[Politico] Building on a successful playbook from 2022, AIPAC and other aligned groups are picking their targets — many more of them this time.

A California Democrat running for Rep. Katie Porter’s seat suddenly became the target of an unexpected barrage of negative ads from the nation’s premier pro-Israel group this year. So he emailed a former Michigan representative, Andy Levin, for advice.

Levin was ousted from his House seat in 2022, after the American Israel Public Affairs Committee spent $4 million against him. Levin was one of a handful of Democrats targeted by AIPAC last cycle, when the group went after a range of progressive candidates in mostly open House primaries over their criticism of Israel.

He told Dave Min, who has not called for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza but has privately criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
…it appears that his character has become known, even if the exact details were not — until this report, anyway…
to reach out to progressive Jewish groups for help. That’s what Levin had done.

But, he acknowledged, "we were simply swamped" by outside spending in his own primary, and Dave Min might face a similar fate.

"Most" candidates won’t be able to survive that spending barrage, Levin said in an interview with POLITICO, and "I’m afraid that they can be quite successful in wiping them out."

This cycle, they are going even bigger. AIPAC is expected to spend $100 million across its political entities in 2024, taking aim at candidates they deem insufficiently supportive of Israel, according to three people with direct knowledge of the figure, who were granted anonymity to discuss private meetings.

The strategy has taken on new urgency this election season from donors animated by the Israel-Hamas war. AIPAC’s biggest targets are members of the so-called Squad of progressive House Democrats who have been openly pressuring the administration to call for a cease-fire. But AIPAC’s ambitions are broader. United Democracy Project, the group’s super PAC, is monitoring 15 to 20 House races and polling in many of those districts, according to a person directly familiar with UDP’s strategy and granted anonymity to discuss the approach.

HOUSE DEMS DEMAND MEETING WITH BIDEN OVER CEASE-FIRE
"They’ll have so much money, wherever there’s an opportunity, they will take it," said one Democratic donor adviser who is involved in the effort and was granted anonymity to speak candidly about the organization’s plans.

The fallout from Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack and Israel’s retaliatory bombardment of Gaza, killing more than 30,000 Palestinians,
…over a third of whom were hardcore terrorists, and possibly up to a third of whom are imaginary…
according to Gaza Health Ministry, has led to deep fissures within the Democratic Party — a divide that will play out in House Democratic primaries across the country.
Sunlight is the best medicine, and just now the light is blinding.
It’s also supercharged fundraising on all sides of the conflict. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), the nation’s only federal Palestinian-American lawmaker, raised a staggering $3.7 million in the final three months of 2023, her largest-ever single quarter fundraising haul, around the same time that she was censured by Congress for comments about Israel. United Democracy Project closed out 2023 with nearly $41 million in the bank, a sum that’s nearly double the group’s entire spending program during the 2022 cycle.

Still others are rethinking their primary strategy altogether. J Street,
…the Jewishly fig-leafed, wholly owned subsidiary of the far-left, Israel-hating Soros Foundations…
a progressive pro-Israel group that defended candidates against AIPAC in primaries in 2022, won’t reprise that role in 2024, arguing that it’s "generally not a fruitful use of our resources to spend in intra-party feuds," J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami said. Instead, they’ll focus their $10 million program on only general election campaigns.

J Street’s decision is part of a broader recognition from progressives that they will not be able to "match [AIPAC] dollar-for-dollar," said Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wisc.), a vocal critic of AIPAC.

"Most people are extremely turned off by where that money comes from," Pocan said. "When you take money from Donald Trump donors, Nikki Haley donors, Ron DeSantis donors
…all, for the purpose of this discussion at least, icky Conservative Republicans (no matter where on the spectrum they actually live)…
and then you put it to use in Democratic primaries, clearly, it’s a disingenuous use of money."

’CONCERNED AT A LEVEL THAT IS UNPRECEDENTED’
After the Oct. 7 attack, when about 1,200 Israelis were killed by Hamas,
killed is such an anodyne word in this context. Better would be gleefully tortured to death by Hamas soldiers and Gaza civilians alike as a deliberate precursor to what they intended to do to everyone they encountered outside the Gaza border
the "pro-Israel donor base became activated, engaged and concerned at a level that is unprecedented,"
Damned straight.
said Mark Mellman, president of Democratic Majority for Israel, another super PAC that often also backs AIPAC-endorsed candidates.

So far this cycle, AIPAC has bundled at least $19 million for House and Senate campaigns, according to a POLITICO analysis of campaign finance filings. Top recipients include high-ranking members such as House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York
…an odd choice. He openly supports Israel — which makes his Jewish constituents happy — while objecting to everything they do…
and Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar of California, as well as stalwart Israel supporters such as Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Mike McCaul (R-Texas).

Biden administration ADMITS illegal migrant secret flying program that has transported over 320,000 has national security 'vulnerabilities'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • A lawsuit reveals Biden's CBP is refusing to disclose airports where it is flying undocumented aliens from other countries

  • Comes amid a continued flow of migrants over the southern border

  • Biden's expansion of the CBP One app allows migrants to apply for asylum in their country, be flown to the U.S. and given two-years to obtain legal status

Through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, the Center for Immigration Studies found Biden's CBP approved the secretive flights that transported hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants from foreign countries into at least 43 different American airports from January through December 2023.

The program was part of Biden's expansion of the CBP One app, which kicked off at the start of last year.

Migrants were able, under Biden's expansion, to apply for asylum using a cell phone app – called CBP One – from their home countries. But the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) notes that the transportation of these migrants directly to the U.S. is one of the lesser known uses of this application.

Aliens who cannot legally enter the U.S. use CBP One to apply for travel authorization and temporary humanitarian release from those airports.

Under this parole release, migrants are able to remain in the U.S. for two years without obtaining legal status and meanwhile are eligible for work authorization in the country.

The administration would not reveal which airports the undocumented aliens were transported to by originally citing a 'law enforcement exception' in the refusal to hand over information.

But new information from CIS lawsuit reveals the locations were not disclosed due to fear 'bad actors' would inflict harm on public safety or the information would create law enforcement vulnerabilities.

'[A]ir ports of entry, which, if disclosed would reveal information about the relative number of individuals arriving, and thus resources expended at particular airports which would, either standing alone or combined with other information, reveal operational vulnerabilities that could be exploited by bad actors altering their patterns of conduct, adopting new methods of operation, and taking other countermeasures,' CBP lawyers wrote in a filing.

CIS notes that the secretive flights are 'legally dubious' and claim since CBP will not disclose the locations for fear of 'grave' consequences, it is likely not a program that should continue.

Lawyers also did not disclose the locations of foreign airport departures, making it unclear where these migrants are coming from.

But those eligible for the CBP One applications are citizens from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia and Ecuador.

Greg Abbott Touts 'Huge News' About Texas Border
[Newsweek] Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Monday hailed "huge news" from an appeals court ruling pertaining to the U.S.-Mexico border.

In recent months, Abbott, a Republican, and his administration have been engaged in a heated back-and-forth with federal forces over who has the authority over the southern border. Abbott, like many others in the GOP, has characterized the recent influx of migrants crossing into the U.S. as a "crisis" and has attempted to leverage more authority for his state government to police the situation. Legal experts have countered that the U.S. Constitution grants the federal government authority over matters concerning immigration.

On Thursday, a lower court in Texas blocked the implementation of the state legislature's Senate Bill 4, which gave state authorities sweeping authority to arrest and detain migrants crossing the border into the U.S. illegally. In his ruling, Judge David Alan Ezra warned that allowing the law to stand "could open the door to each state passing its own version of immigration laws."

On Saturday, however, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a temporary halt on that lower court ruling. The decision will not go into effect until Saturday, March 9, giving the federal government a week to argue for the blockage of Texas' Senate Bill 4 before the U.S. Supreme Court. Without any intervention from the highest court in the land, the law will then be implemented.

Taking to his official X, formerly Twitter, account on Monday, Abbott hailed that ruling as "huge news."

Federal appeals court allows Texas immigration law to take effect," the governor wrote. "Law enforcement officers in Texas are now authorized to arrest & jail any illegal immigrants crossing the border."

Newsweek reached out to the White House via email for comment on Monday afternoon. Any responses received will be added to this story in a later update.

Critics of the law, which Abbott signed back in December, have argued that its implementation would lead to a major increase in racial profiling in Texas. El Paso County, a major point of entry for migrants crossing the border, also joined in with the Department of Justice (DOJ) in suing the Texas government over the bill, claiming that the spike in arrests that it would produce would put an excessive strain on its jail system.

UN finds evidence of rape on Oct. 7 and after; Israel: They tried to downplay issue

It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, says Oct. 7 victims suffered ’torture and other horrors’

The United Nation’s envoy on sex crimes during conflict presented a report Monday at the UN indicating that rape and gang rape likely occurred during the October 7 Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
onslaught against southern Israel, that "clear and convincing" evidence shows that hostages were raped while being held in Gaza, and that those currently held captive are still facing such abuse.

The 24-page report, based on more than two weeks of meetings on the ground, states that there are "reasonable grounds" to believe that Hamas committed rape and sexual abuse during its murderous rampage on October 7, and that there is an even higher standard of evidence to indicate that hostages kidnapped by Hamas that day were subject to rape in captivity.

Israel in response accused the UN of playing down the report and dragging its feet on looking into the allegations, while trying to silence the accusations — something the UN secretary general swiftly denied.

Presenting the report at a presser at UN Headquarters in New York, Pramila Patten, the UN special representative on sexual violence in conflict, said that there was "clear and convincing information that sexual violence including rape, sexualized torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment" was committed against hostages being held in captivity in the Strip by Hamas.

In addition, she said, there are "reasonable grounds" to believe that such violence is still ongoing against those hostages still in captivity in Gaza.

"The mission was a difficult one in terms of what we heard and the details," said Patten at the presser. "We saw a catalog of the most extreme and inhumane forms of torture and other horrors," she said, noting that her mission "was neither intended nor mandated to be investigative in nature."

The team said a "fully-fledged investigation" would be required to establish the overall magnitude, scope and specific attribution for the sexual violence.

Patten said that she visited Israel and the West Bank for 2.5 weeks, meeting with representatives of 33 Israeli institutions as well as 34 individuals, including survivors and witnesses, released hostages, first responders and others. She noted that she did not meet with any survivor of sexual violence, saying that she was told the small number of living survivors are undergoing "specialized trauma treatment" and are unable to discuss their experiences.

Her team also viewed 5,000 photographic images and "some 50 hours of footage" of the attacks. Due to the ongoing conflict, she said, she did not request to also visit Gaza.

Patten said that based on her evidence-gathering, there are reasonable grounds to believe that "rape and gang rape" occurred during the October 7 attacks in at least three locations: the Supernova music festival site, Kibbutz Re’im, and along the nearby Route 232.

In most such instances, she said, evidence shows that victims were "first subjected to rape and then killed," noting as well "two incidents" pointing to the rape of women’s corpses.

The music festival grounds, Patten said, was the site of "brutal mass murders," noting that many bodies were found extensively burned or disfigured, and that there was also a "recurring pattern of victims found fully or partially undressed, bound and shot."

Patten noted that "some allegations" of sexual violence from Kibbutz Be’eri were determined to be unfounded, including a story about a pregnant woman’s fetus being cut out of her body, while other allegations could simply not be verified.

She added that interviews in the West Bank of both male and female Paleostinian detainees, pointed to "cruel, inhuman and degrading" treatment by Israeli security forces, including "sexual violence in the forms of body searches [and] threats of rape."

In response to the report, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan lambasted the international body for taking so long to recognize what happened on the Gaza periphery.

"It took the UN five months to finally recognize the horrifying sex crimes that occurred during the Hamas on onslaught of October 7," Erdan said in a statement. "Now that the report of the sexual atrocities and abuse that our hostages are going through in Gaza is being released, the shame of the silence of the UN — which is not even holding one hearing on the issue — is crying out to the heavens."

Foreign Minister Israel Katz said he was calling Erdan back to Israel for discussions on how to move forward, due to the UN’s "silencing" of the issue.

Katz slammed UN chief António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
for not calling for a meeting of the UN Security Council "to declare Hamas a terror group and place sanctions on its supporters." He said Israel had yet to hear "one word" from the UN chief over the report, adding: "Guterres, wake up."

Guterres’s front man denied that he was attempting to suppress the report.

"The work was done thoroughly and expeditiously. In no way, shape, or form did the secretary-general do anything to keep the report ’quiet.’ In fact, the report is being presented publicly today," Stephane Dujarric told AFP.

Israel has railed at international women’s groups that ignored evidence of Hamas’s weaponization of sexual violence during the attacks.

It took about eight weeks for UN Women, a women’s rights group under the tutelage of the UN, to post, and shortly thereafter delete, a condemnation of the October 7 onslaught itself.

Another week would go by before the agency registered the existence of "disturbing reports of gender-based and sexual violence on October 7."

The delayed response sparked outrage among Jewish and Israeli feminist groups, rallying to the hashtag "#MeToo_UNless_UR_A_Jew" and charging the UN body’s silence was motivated by antisemitism.

The campaign gained traction by December, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and United States President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. ‘This Is A Man ThatDoes Not Seem Demented’...
both publicly castigating international women’s groups for ignoring mounting evidence that Hamas had used rape as a weapon of war. Later that month, the New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

ran a damning report on the extent of sexual violence during the October 7 attacks.

UNRWA said to accuse Israel of abusing Gazan detainees
[IsraelTimes] UN agency, whose employees are accused of taking part in October 7 onslaught, reportedly alleges suspects ’beaten, stripped, robbed, blindfolded, sexually abused’

An unpublished report by UNRWA, the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees, accuses Israeli troops of abusing hundreds of Paleostinians detained in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. and brought to Israel for questioning, according to a Sunday report.

The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

said the UNRWA report alleges that some detainees were "beaten, stripped, robbed, blindfolded, sexually abused, and denied access to lawyers and doctors, often for more than a month."

The report, based on interviews with over 100 of the 1,002 detainees released back to Gaza by February, claimed that the alleged abuse was "used to extract information or confessions, to intimidate and humiliate, and to punish." All the interviewed Paleostinians were released without charge.

The Israel Defense Forces said that any mistreatment was "absolutely prohibited," denied all allegations of sexual abuse, and said it was investigating any complaints of inappropriate behavior, the report said.

The Times said that its Sherlocks could not corroborate all the details of the allegations but that some accounts correlated with other interviews the newspaper had conducted with former Gazook detainees.

It noted that the detainees held by Israel were aged from 6 to 82 and said the UNRWA report says some of them died in detention.

UNRWA, the UN body that provides welfare and humanitarian services for Paleostinian refugees from the 1948 and 1967 wars and their descendants, is itself currently under investigation after Israel accused several of its members of taking part in Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
’s October 7 onslaught on southern Israel, in which some 1,200 people were killed and 253 were taken hostage.

As a result of Israel’s accusation, multiple countries, including the US, UK, and Germany, froze funding for the organization. The investigation’s findings are expected to be published in late April, according to a Thursday update.

UNRWA also claimed Monday that Israeli authorities had "detained several of its staff from the Gaza Strip" who later described abuses carried out while they were in jug.

"Our staff have reported atrocious events while they were detained and during interrogations by the Israeli authorities. These reports included torture, severe ill-treatment, abuse and sexual exploitation," UNRWA said in a statement to AFP.

"Some of our staff have conveyed to UNRWA teams that they were forced to confessions under torture and ill-treatment" while being asked about the October 7 onslaught.

"These forced confessions as a result of torture are being used by the Israeli authorities to further spread misinformation about the agency as part of attempts to dismantle UNRWA," the agency said.

"This is putting our staff in Gaza at risk and has serious implications on our operations in Gaza and around the region."

UNRWA said it had submitted a written protest to Israel about the detentions but had not received a response.

Israel told AFP on Monday the UNRWA allegations were "baseless."

Some hostages who were released from Gaza during a weeklong truce in November also claimed they had been held in the homes of UNRWA members. In addition, throughout the war, the IDF has uncovered instances of the organization being used as a cover for Hamas.

For example, Israel’s military revealed in February that Hamas hid a large subterranean data center directly under the UNRWA Gaza headquarters building in Gaza City. An entrance to the stronghold was found underneath a nearby UNRWA school.

Israel has been repeatedly accused of mistreating Paleostinian prisoners since its war with Hamas broke out in October.

Human rights group Amnesia Amnesty International claimed that Paleostinians detained in the West Bank in the first month of the war were subjected to "severe beatings, humiliation... forcing them to keep their heads down, to kneel on the floor during inmate count, and to sing Israeli songs."

A January New York Times report cited a UN statement saying that Gazooks held by Israeli authorities had been "subjected to ill-treatment, and to what may amount to torture."

Israel insisted in response that all the detainees were suspected of terror activities and were being "treated in accordance with international law."

As I understand the Geneva Conventions, many of those detained would be considered "illegal combatants". No uniforms, bearing arms, etc. Under the Geneva Convention, such illegal combatants can be given a drumhead court martial, and if found guilty, executed. So they are not being treated as they should be under international law.

‘I captured one!’ — IDF recordings show more UNRWA staffers bragging of Oct. 7 crimes
[IsraelTimes] 2 further workers accused of taking part in attacks bring number to 14; IDF says intel shows 450 employees are terror operatives; head of UN body warns it is at ’breaking point’

"How will you get home?" he is asked in the phone call, and he replies with a laugh: "When I die."

In another recording, an UNRWA teacher can purportedly be heard bragging about kidnapping Israeli hostages.

"We have female hostages, I captured one!" says Yusef al-Hawajara, a Hamas terrorist who worked as a teacher at a UNRWA school in Deir al-Balah, according to the IDF. "Everything’s fine I hope," he later says in the recording. "We will enter al-Aqsa Mosque."

He says that he entered into Israel, and "saw the sights... They shot them in the eyes... they did actions for liberations, God willing." Asked what he found while in Israel, he says, "One thousand shekels."

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari in an evening presser said that despite the "difficult content," the military chose to release the audio recordings to "remind and not forget."

"The massacre committed by Hamas on October 7 is the most documented massacre in history. Hamas murderous Moslems filmed their own cruelty. As time goes by, more and more testimonies are revealed, more intelligence every day," he said.

He said that in one of the recordings, a Hamas terrorist, who worked as a teacher at a UNRWA school in Deir al-Balah, tells his friend that he captured a "sabaya," a term used by Islamic State

"The most difficult use of ’sabaya’ was by ISIS terrorists, who called the captured Yazidi women [in Iraq and Syria] this," Hagari added.

"In the conversation, the terrorist on the other side of the line describes a woman as a noble mare," he said.

Such comments "keeps us awake at night, and require the world to shout, as it did for the Yazidi women."

Hagari added that from testimonies of hostages who were released from Gazoo

, "we have learned about the dangers the hostages are exposed to, especially the women and kiddies."

Last month, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant named 12 other UNRWA staffers whom it said participated in the massacre on October 7. The IDF said its intelligence shows that some 450 terror operatives in Gaza, mostly Hamas members, are also employed by UNRWA.

Jerusalem has long argued that UNRWA should be disbanded, and the recent allegations have led several donor countries to announce funding freezes, increasing concerns that the agency, which says it is the main conduit for aid for millions in the Strip during the Israel-Hamas war, could stop operating in Gaza and elsewhere in the Middle East within weeks.

The head of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, warned on Monday in a letter to the General Assembly’s president that his agency is at a "breaking point," as donors freeze funding, Israel exerts pressure to dismantle the agency, and humanitarian needs soar.

UNRWA’s ability to carry out its mandate is "seriously threatened," Lazzarini said, urging member states to "provide the political support necessary to sustain" the agency.

Lazzarini has said that Israel has provided no evidence against his former employees. Last month, Israel revealed the identities of 12 UNRWA staffers who it said "actively participated" in the massacre.

Despite Lazzarini’s assertion, the UN fired the employees accused by Israel and has begun an internal probe.

Some hostages, who were released from Gaza during a weeklong truce in November, said that they were held in the homes of UNRWA members.

The IDF also revealed in February that Hamas hid a large subterranean data center directly under the UNRWA Gaza headquarters building in Gaza City. An entrance to the stronghold was found underneath a nearby UNRWA school.

Several countries — including the United States, Britannia, Germany, and Japan — suspended funding to UNRWA following the Israeli allegations. The total frozen amounts to $450 million — the equivalent of more than half the funds UNRWA received in 2023.

also tasked an independent panel with assessing whether UNRWA acts in a neutral fashion in the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict.

The European Commission, recognizing steps taken by the UN and its refugee agency, said Friday that it would release 50 million euros ($54 million) in UNRWA funding.

The United States — the top contributor to the chronically underfinanced agency — was among the first countries to suspend aid. It diverted some funds to other UN agencies.

But Guterres has insisted that no other agency has the capacity to replace UNRWA, which, in addition to providing humanitarian aid, manages schools and hospitals.

NGOs including Save the Children and Action Against Hunger made the same point in a joint statement, warning of the "complete collapse" of the humanitarian response in Gaza, where food and water shortages are widespread.
