-Lurid Crime Tales-
Matt Taibi Gets DARPA Feed-‘Forget Collusion. Was ‘Interference’ Also Fake News?’ - Seth Rich Stirs At Last
Images of the reference pages can be seen at the link.
[RacketNews] Upon whose analysis did the government rely when it blamed Russia for hacks of Democratic Party emails?

The story just published today on Racket, “Forget Collusion. Was "Interference" Also Fake News?,” adds new information to the public’s understanding of Russiagate. Because the significance of certain documents is tied to dates, and many details have begun to fade from public memory, artist Daniel Medina put together a visual timeline to explain the overall chronology.

This first panel above is comprised of news already known to the public, but there are a few items of note. For one, the DNC reported detection of “unusual activity” on April 30th, but didn’t commence a “remediation event” until over five weeks later, on June 10th.

There’s also a quirk in connection to the June 14th announcement by Democrats and their reseaarchers that Russians had not only “penetrated the computer network of the Democratic National Committee,” but “gained access to the entire database of opposition research on GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump” (the Washington Post used the term, “stole”). Much later, Crowdstrike president Shawn Henry testified to congress about DNC emails that the company lacked “evidence that they were actually exfiltrated. There’s circumstantial evidence, but no evidence that they were actually exfiltrated.”

Despite Henry testifying that “we just don’t have the evidence that says it actually left,” the DNC made its big “The Russians took our data!” announcement on June 14th. This was a day before the Guccifer 2.0 persona began publishing leak material, including Trump oppo research. If they didn’t have evidence anything was “actually exfiltrated,” what exactly was the basis for that Post story?

The next panel shows researchers David Dagon and Manos Antonakakis were looking at the origins of the DNC hack during the same time period that they were working with Neustar executive Rodney Joffe on the ill-fated effort to show a connection between Donald Trump and Russia’s Alfa Bank. This is only certain now because Senator Chuck Grassley was able to elicit an admission from the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, that these researchers produced a “Fancy Bear/APT28 Attribution analysis” on August 7, 2016, roughly the same time frame as the Alfa fiasco.

The Department of Homeland Security announced on October 7th that “the recent disclosures of alleged hacked e-mails on sites like DCLeaks.com and WikiLeaks and by the Guccifer 2.0 online persona are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts.”

The language about the hacks being “consistent” with the “methods and motivations” of “Russian-directed efforts” (Russian-directed?) is oddly weak beer, and came during the same time frame when the story was being hawked to Slate dope Franklin Foer.
Ouch! But, y’know, Slate.
Emails from Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann to the FBI on October 13th, meanwhile, show federal law enforcement still did not have data from Crowdstrike when the October 7th announcement was made. More to come.

Prof J Turley's Testimony on the Impeachment Inquiry
[JonathanTurley] It is very long but

- he supports the inquiry

- he establishes that a person can profit off gifts given to his children and grandchildren and thus this can be a basis for impeachment

- he covers, in part, the obstruction of justice issue whereby to please the President, others stop various lines of inquiry, delay investigations and factual reports, etc. (he doesn't spell out, that I could find, the apparent intentional lapsing of very substantial tax avoidance charges for Hunter)

- gives a good historical review of impeachments of Presidents, judges, Congressmen, etc.
All thirty-six pages of the PDF can be seen at the link. Thank you for summarizing, lord garth.

Remember, If & When Biden leaves office the US get K. Harris and Obama gets a easier puppet to play.

Either way, I still feel this whole Impeachment process is more of a deflective stage show, to appease the voters than will actually happen.

#3  The inquiry phase could be a dud if only minimal info is acquired.

Or it could be a massive influence to the overall culture.

Will bank and tax records show evasion of taxes by the Biden crime family?

Will bank records show payments to Joe or for Joe by family members.

What kind of communications went to the DOJ and IRS regarding the investigation of Hunter?

What and when were discussions between Hunter and Joe about Burisma and other subjects.

Will we get the videotapes that ex Burisma big shots say they have of Joe extorting them?

#4  The inquiry will be stifled by the mockingbirds, but it can be effective if it is thorough and if it is extended to cabinet heads who obstruct. Taking out Howdy Doody is less effective than hitting the entire administration with a broadside. RINOs would balk at hamstringing large portions of the executive but the entire administration is conducting a demolition of our freedoms and society.

Dianne Feinstein, California's longest-serving senator, dies at 90
Yahoo is live-blogging events here.
[CBS] U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California has died at age 90, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News on Friday.

Feinstein, a Democrat, was the oldest member of the Senate. She had the longest tenure of any woman in the chamber, and any senator from California.

Her death ends a boundary-pushing political career that spanned more than half a century, which was studded with major legislative achievements on issues including gun control and the environment.

In Feinstein’s final years, she had increasingly visible health and memory issues, and a conflict with her fellow Democrats over her refusal to step down.

She had planned to retire at the end of her current term in 2024.

Feinstein’s death leaves vacant her powerful Senate seat, requiring Gov. Gavin Newsom to appoint a temporary successor.

US Sen. Dianne Feinstein leaves Senate at 90

[NYPOST] US Sen. Dianne Feinstein
...Dem Senator-for-Life from Caliphornica. She has been a politician since about the time she was weaned. Feinstein was the author of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban, and tried it a second time in 2012. Feinstein has chaired the Select Committee on Intelligence since 2009. At age 80, Feinstein is the oldest currently serving United States Senator....
, the trailblazing Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Democrat who broke gender barriers throughout her five decades in politics, died Thursday night at her Washington, DC home following a number of health scares. She was 90.

James Sauls, Feinstein’s chief of staff, confirmed her death in a mid-morning statement, saying: "Her passing is a great loss for so many, from those who loved and cared for her to the people of California that she dedicated her life to serving ... There are few women who can be called senator, chairman, mayor, wife, mom and grandmother. Senator Feinstein was a force of nature who made an incredible impact on our country and her home state. She left a legacy that is undeniable and extraordinary."

Texas drug recovery group awarded $800K grant from Biden admin for 'harm reduction' distributes crack pipes
[FoxNews] The El Paso Alliance said its 'smoke kits' include a 'small, cylinder glass'

A drug recovery group in El Paso, Texas, that received a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services as part of the Biden administration's "harm reduction" program distributes crack pipes to drug addicts.

The El Paso Alliance has received nearly $800,000 from the HHS since 2022 as part of the federal government's harm reduction program. The group, which distributes "smoke kits" and other "harm reduction resources" to drug addicts, told The Dallas Express that the kits include a "small, cylinder glass."

According to its website, the El Paso Alliance is a nonprofit organization that aims to "inform and provide individuals with the harm reduction tools and resources necessary to minimize self harm, enhance recovery, and improve quality of life." The "harm reduction resources" the group offers include healthcare, child care, disease testing, and the distribution of smoke kits, hygiene kits, fentanyl test strips, Narcan and condoms.

The HHS' harm reduction program included "smoking kits" as equipment eligible to be purchased with its federal money. But in early 2022, top HHS officials and then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki denied reports that the kits would have crack pipes.

A spokesperson for the HHS' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which oversees the harm reduction program, told Fox News Digital that the agency communicates with grant recipients to ensure the federal funds are not used on pipes.

"SAMHSA sent the following Terms and Conditions language to all Harm Reduction Grant recipients upon grant award: "Award funds shall not be used, directly or indirectly, to purchase or promote the use of drug paraphernalia, including pipes/pipettes in safer smoking kits," spokesperson Brandon Costerison said. "Grant recipients were also reminded that grant recipient organizations must comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding the use of SAMHSA funds."

"All grant recipients submit an annual budget that includes line items for all supplies intended to be purchased with SAMHSA funds," Costerison continued. "In some cases, grant recipients may receive funding from non-federal sources that do not have the same restrictions as federal funding. SAMHSA does not oversee the use of these funds. However, SAMHSA grantees must operate within the bounds of federal, state, and local laws."

The El Paso Alliance did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment on whether it uses federal grant money to purchase its smoking kits and what else the funds are used to purchase.

The distribution of crack pipes may violate state law because, according to Texas' Health and Safety Code 481.002(17), the distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia is banned in the Lone Star State.

Harm reduction groups attempt to reduce overdoses by distributing naloxone and clean drug paraphernalia to drug addicts. Harm reduction groups sometimes distribute safe smoking kits, which can include a pipe, stem, mouthpiece, aluminum foil and wipes intended to prevent cuts and infections, the Washington Free Beacon reported in 2022.

Other groups have also received federal grants that were used to distribute crack pipes, including two groups in Maine, one in New York City and the Los Angeles County Public Health Department.

Two other groups in Texas were among the recipients of the HHS harm reduction program.

People with Ideas of Love, Liberty, Acceptance, and Respect received nearly $800,000 in grants since last year to "develop a naloxone distribution program" that includes a "harm reduction vending machine at their primary location."

The group did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital about what other supplies would be offered.

Bexar County Hospital District, which does business as the University Health System, also received nearly $800,000 since last year as part of the harm reduction program.

"We do not distribute any drug paraphernalia. We have delivered about 1,700 doses of naloxone," University Health System spokesperson Elizabeth Allen told Fox News Digital.

Other groups across the country to receive grants as part of the harm reduction program include Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, Harlem United Community Aids Center, the Kansas City Care Clinic and the Detroit Recovery Project.

Florida man charged in Jan. 6 riot slams 'double standards' as ex-prosecutor makes bail in road rage stabbing
[FoxNews] A Florida man photographed carrying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's lectern during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot is blasting what he calls "double standards" after the former Justice Department prosecutor who demanded strict bail terms for him was arrested in a road rage stabbing outside Tampa.

Patrick Scruggs, who spent a decade as an assistant U.S. attorney prosecuting federal crimes, wound up jailed himself this week when he allegedly stabbed a man multiple times after a three-car crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge, west of Tampa, during Tuesday's morning rush hour.

"I hope the victim of this stabbing is recovering well and will not have any long term health issues as a result of the violent assault," Adam Johnson, who calls himself "The Lectern Guy" wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Johnson noted that Scruggs is innocent until proven guilty. And so was Johnson, although he argues he was denied that presumption under the bail conditions the former prosecutor had requested at the time.

"What I will speak on are the double standards of the bail conditions," he told Fox News Digital. "Mr. Scruggs has been accused of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and armed burglary — all of which are felonies. Mr. Scruggs posted bail within 24 hours of his arrest and was given no additional conditions for his release even though he is clearly a threat to his community."

After Johnson spent a night in jail in 2021, he said he was ordered on Scruggs' request to the court to surrender his passport and legal guns in addition to being subjected to a curfew, travel restrictions, GPS monitoring and random drug testing.

While Johnson has finished his federal sentence of 75 days behind bars and a year of probation, he's still dealing with the aftermath of serious charges he faced after posing in a viral photo that sealed his fate in court.

"I'm still being denied readmission into USF, and my gun rights have been violated repeatedly at a state and federal level, though," he told Fox News Digital, referring to the University of South Florida. "I might be done, but they are not done with me."

Johnson said he had one semester remaining for his bachelor's degree when he took a break to raise his young children.

Despite being in good academic standing with a 3.7 GPA, he said, he was denied when he applied to return because he was on probation.

Now, he's done with probation, but he still hasn't been readmitted, he said.

"It is blatantly clear to see that justice is no longer a double-edged sword, but a blunt instrument used by an authoritative regime," Johnson said.

Even before he pleaded guilty to the Jan. 6 charges, he said, Scruggs sought aggressive terms for his pretrial release before the case moved from a federal court in Florida to Washington, D.C., where it was handled by a different prosecutor.

"My crimes were so egregious that he demanded I wear an ankle monitor, be drug tested at random, surrender my passports, be restricted to middle district of Florida and given a nightly curfew," he said, noting the allegations against him were not violent and did not include drugs.

"Under Florida state law, as opposed to federal law, every person is entitled to be released pending trial unless they are arrested on a capital offense with overwhelming evidence," Scruggs' attorney, John Nohlgren, told Fox News Digital.

His client has been charged with aggravated assault and battery and armed burglary, none of which are capital offenses, the lawyer noted.

Trump's Jan. 6 trial will take place during 2024 primaries, judge rulesVideo
"There are a few other circumstances wherein a person could be held without bond, but none of those circumstances apply to Mr. Scruggs," he said.

"The bond amounts set in his case were consistent with the uniform bond schedule set forth by the Pinellas County Circuit Court. These bonds are set in many cases of this nature, especially for a person with no prior criminal history. Mr. Scruggs did what any other person would do in his situation by posting the bond amounts set by the authorities. We are actively cooperating with the state attorney in Pinellas County on several issues, including establishing the conditions of his release."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Hails the Passing of Her Amendment to Fire Pentagon Chief ‘A Huge Victory'
[Breitbart] Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) called the passing of her amendment to fire Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin a “huge victory” in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Wednesday.
It’s not huge, since it won’t pass in the Senate. But it is a shot across the bow of the Democrats, which is something.
“This is the first time that the Holman rule
...enacted in 1876, rescinded in 1983, reinstated in January 2017, supposedly on a temporary basis...
has been used in the 118th Congress, and it’s the first time the Holman rule has been used in years. So it was a huge victory,” Greene said.

Greene’s amendment called for the defense secretary’s salary to be reduced to $1 via the Holman rule, which allows members of Congress to reduce the salary of or fire specific federal employees, or cut specific programs via amendments to appropriations bills.

Greene said it is “essentially firing someone. They can’t get paid. They may still have their title, but they can’t receive a salary, which is, you know, essentially firing them.”

It was the first time in decades that any member of Congress has passed an amendment implementing the Holman Rule to hold executive branch officials accountable.

Greene said this was the first step of accountability for Austin’s “failure” as defense secretary.

First, she said he is responsible for the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“We all know that, which resulted in 13 deaths of our American soldiers, handing over billions of dollars of U.S. military equipment to the Taliban,” she said.

Second, she noted abysmal recruitment numbers.

“The recruitment numbers have reached a crisis level of low recruitment. The Army expects to fall 15,000 recruits short of its annual recruiting goal this year. The Navy is expecting to be short 10,000, and the Air Force is down another 3000. So that’s a devastating. Under his leadership, no one wants to join the military,” she said.

Third, she noted that more than 8,000 service members were forced out of the military because they refused to comply with the Biden administration’s COVID vaccine mandate.

“His job description is to be the leader of the Department of Defense, but also to advise the President on military policy, and his military policies are nothing but failure. So this this is a huge win,” she said.

She also noted that Democrats did not object to the amendment, which was added to the House version of the defense appropriations bill, which funds the Pentagon.

“The amendment has now become part of the defense bill, and we have to pass the defense bill,” she said.

However, she acknowledged that passing the defense bill in its current form would not be likely. She said she voted no on bringing the defense appropriations bill to the floor, since it contained funding for Ukraine.

“That happened last night and the defense bill looks like it’s dead on arrival, because after I voted ‘no’ on the rule, it looks like more Republicans are going to be voting ‘no’ on the defense bill because of the money for Ukraine,” she said.

“When we do the defense bill again, we bring the same amendment to the floor, and since the House has already passed it, they should be able to pass it again,” she said.

She posted on X after the amendment passed, “I’m proud to let you know my amendment to FIRE Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin just passed on the House floor. Under his failed leadership, our military is being destroyed and he doesn’t deserve to serve any longer. This is the first time in the 118th Congress the Holman rule has been used to hold a Biden official accountable. It’s time for more.”

#1  Accomplishes very nothing.
The LSD's will find ways to $$$$$ support him via family member employment, investments and etc....

So he can continue on with the LSDr agenda to destroy the US DOD.

"Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin ... earned the bulk of his fortune—which Forbes estimates at $7 million—serving on boards in retirement." btw: that networth was estimated 2 years ago

#4  Not sure why Austin would stand out as compared to Wray, Garland, Mayorkas …

In the end there has to be contempts issued, impeachment inquiries begun and a hardline negotiations with the Senate by the GOP caucus lead by McCarthy or somebody else. I see tactical skirmishes but no overall strategy.

Sen. Menendez's Dirty Money Taints Entire Democrat Party
[PJ] Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) has been a dirty and corrupt politician for years. He’s been under investigation, indictment, and even trial in the past. Yet the voters of New Jersey reelected him, and he’s had the support of his fellow Democrats in Congress.

It’s hard to understand why Democrats are only now willing to throw him under the bus, but they are. Maybe they’re tired of the distraction his scandals have caused. Regardless of the reason, one thing is sure: Democrats have not only been happy to turn a blind eye to Menendez’s corruption, but they’ve also been happy to take his money.

FEC filings show that Menendez’s campaign committee has doled out lots of money to his fellow Democrats. According to an analysis by Breitbart News, roughly $230,000 went to his colleagues in the Senate during the 2022 cycle, including Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who got $5,000 from Menendez.

Fetterman is just one Democrat Senator who received political donations from Menendez’s PAC. Below are nine of the top Democrats who received money from Menendez’s campaign committee in the 2022 cycle, OpenSecrets reported:

1. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) — Maggie for New Hampshire $10,000, 6 Donations
2.Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) — Kelly for Senate $10,000, 3 Donations
3. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-IL) — Tammy for Wisconsin $10,000, 4 Donations
4. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) — Wyden for Senate $10,000, 2 Donations
5. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) — Gillibrand for Senate $10,000, 2 Donations
6. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) — Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate $10,000, 3 Donations
7. Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) — Alex Padilla for Senate $10,000, 2 Donations
8. Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) — Bennet for Colorado $7,500, 3 Donations
9. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) — Warnock for Georgia $7,500, 2 Donations

Menendez has also given quite a bit of money for the 2024 election cycle. "According to campaign finance disclosures, Menendez’s New Millennium PAC gave Senate Democrats large donations, including Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) $5,000, Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) $10,000, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) $10,000, and Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) $5,000." Menendez has also given money to various Democrat organizations, which in turn donate cash to Democrat candidates.

FIFY. The GOPe operates on the same program. Why do you think they despised the Tea Party and the Trumpsers. /rhet question. Lesson here for any future republic - its very important to starve the beast to reduce its reach and influence.

This guy's been a crook for years. They've known he was crook the entire time.
They're tossing him up as a diversion to the coming info on his cohort and long time buddy, Joey Biden.
See, they all do it. No big deal.
