Afghanistan
Acting PM Says Islamic Emirate is Committed to Inclusive Govt. Really.
[TOLONEWS] The acting prime minister Mawlawi Abdul Kabir in a meeting with the Special Coordinator and Independent Assessor of the UN, Feridun Hadi Sinirlioglu, expressed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to an inclusive government.

The Arg said on Twitter that during the meeting Abdul Kabir noted that the Islamic Emirate wants to have "positive relations" with the international community.

The Arg quoted Sinirlioglu as saying that the international community wants to have "good relations" with the Islamic Emirate and that the security and stability of Afghanistan is important for the implementation of major regional projects.

Speaking at the meeting, Abdul Kabir asked the Special Coordinator and Independent Assessor of the UN to lay the groundwork for interaction between the current Afghan government and the international community.

"In the meeting they discussed the creation of an atmosphere of trust between the Islamic Emirate and the international community, attracting humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan, and other issues," said Mohammad Hassan Haqyar, head of the media directorate of the political deputy of the PM.

"The Islamic Emirate wants positive interactions with the world in an atmosphere of mutual respect and hopes that you (UN Special Coordinator) will be the foundation for this interaction. The Islamic Emirate has a neutral position in international competitions and policies and will never take a position against the one side to satisfy another side," the Arg tweeted.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shouting match, a new, even louder, voice was to be heard...
some political analysts said that the formation of an inclusive government is a necessity in the country and it can be beneficial in improving the current situation.

"Its condition art that it should represent all of the Afghan people, and all decisions should be made by them, and there should be no higher authority than it," said Wali Frozan, an international relations expert.

"This (formation of inclusive government) is not a matter that was only was emphasized in the Doha agreement and the world stressed in this regard, but it is also the desire of all the people of Afghanistan," said Najib Rahman Shamal, a political analyst.

Previously, the head of UNAMA, Roza Otunbayeva, said that the absence of an inclusive governance in Afghanistan will lead to instability in the country.

#1  The heart of the matter: Several obstacles remain including disagreements over the structure of a new government, the legal framework for elections, the presence of foreign forces and mercenaries, the unification of military institutions, and broader issues of national reconciliation.
These issues have contributed to the uncertainty about elections taking place as scheduled.

Britain
UK watchdog asked to look at Foreign Office over opaqueness on Palestinian aid
The British Foreign Office, like the US State Department, has always been Arabist, regardless of the position of the elected government on the subject.
[IsraelTimes] Activists say the ministry, which handles humanitarian assistance abroad, is not providing timely information on whether its money funds terrorism

Pro-Israel activists in the United Kingdom have complained to a national watchdog that monitors transparency in government over a ministry’s alleged failure to provide information on funding suspected to be going to Paleostinian terrorists.

B’nai B’rith UK and the nonprofit We Believe in Israel last month contacted the Information Commissioner’s Office with a request to look into why the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has not responded to requests to provide — under the Freedom of Information act — clarity on "how British aid to the Paleostinian Authority is being audited, with a view to establishing whether or not taxpayers’ money is being used to support, facilitate, or incentivise terrorism," the pro-Israel groups wrote in a statement Wednesday.

The Department for International Development, a now-defunct government office that has been absorbed into the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, had ignored a similar request by UK Lawyers for Israel in 2018. But the department eventually divulged relevant documents following intervention by the Information Commissioner’s Office, acting at the behest of the lawyers’ group.

"Following the shocking murder of the Dee women earlier this year, it became apparent that British aid to the Paleostinian Authority must be subject to appropriate scrutiny," Luke Akehurst, director of We Believe in Israel, said in the statement.

In April, Paleostinian bully boyz killed Lucy Dee, a dual citizen of Israel and the United Kingdom, and her two daughters, Maia and Rina, in a shooting attack in the West Bank.

Israel and many Western countries accuse the Paleostinian Authority of incentivizing terrorism, including by paying stipends to convicted bully boyz in Israeli prisons or their families.

"Our government must not be complicit with this, and the purpose of our FOI request was simply to scrutinize how our taxpayers’ money is used when sent to the PA," Akehurst said.

He said the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has failed to acknowledge his group’s request within 30 days, which "is unlawful and constitutes a breach of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. As such, it has now been referred to the ICO."

Europe
Denmark says no Syrian refugees will be deported
What does this accomplish except to force those that stay into the underground economy, while some will head off to France or Germany in order to start the process again, only to succumb to Sudden Jihad Syndrome when their applications are rejected. There are real-world costs to parading an oversensitive morality, guys.
[Rudaw] Denmark’s migration ministry on Friday said it has no plans to forcibly deport Syrians to their country following concerns by rights organizations regarding the Danish government’s revocation of some Syrians’ residency permits.

The Human Rights Watch (HRW) on March 13 warned against the forced return of some Syrian refugees to their country by the Danish authorities after Copenhagen deemed more areas, controlled by the Syrian regime, "safe."

Denmark’s Ministry of Immigration and Integration told Rudaw’s Bizhar Zubair in an email on Friday that it has no intention to carry out any forced return of Syrians "for foreign policy reasons."

"At this point, in relation to Syria, the Danish immigration authorities only consider cases concerning persons from Damascus, Rif Damascus and Latakia in relation to revocation and denial of extension of temporary residence permits granted on the grounds of general conditions as laid out in the Danish Aliens Act section 7 (3). Thus, revocations only concern cases in which the authorities have assessed that the person in question is not at individual risk of persecution," added the ministry.

Damascus is the capital city of Syria and Latakia is a stronghold of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
’s regime.

The ministry also said that its Refugee Appeals Board "still finds the situation in these areas severe, fragile and unpredictable, but concluded that the situation has improved, and the Board does not consider the changes to be of a completely temporary Nature."

The ministry said reports by their authorities, Swedish authorities as well as NGOs and international rights organizations, including HRW, are taken into consideration when deciding which areas are safe.

However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money...
HRW said in March that the Syrian regime continues its abuses against people in the so-called safe areas.

"While active hostilities may have decreased in recent years, the Syrian government continues to subject citizens to the same abuses that led them to flee in the first place, including arbitrary detention, mistreatment, and torture," it noted.

Denmark has revoked the residency permits of at least 150 Syrian refugees from Damascus and surrounding areas since 2019.

Amnesia Amnesty International says Hungary and Denmark are the only European Union

states that revoke Syrian’s residency permits.

Millions of Syrians have fled their country since 2011 due to the devastating civil war at home. A deadly quake hit parts of the country, making the lives of Syrians, especially the displaced ones, more miserable. Humanitarian aid from the international organization is insufficient and most people do not benefit from it.

Abaya controversy tests limits of France’s law banning religious symbols in schools

A reported increase in Moslem girls wearing the abaya dress at French schools has triggered a debate about their violation of the country’s sacrosanct commitment to secularism in education.

La Belle France’s identity has long been wedded to its conception of secularism in public life.

Belgian official resigns, foreign minister on hot seat over junket for Tehran mayor
[IsraelTimes] Pascel Smet steps down as top diplomat for Brussels Region state, saying taxpayers should not have funded trips; Hadja Lahbib urged to follow suit for granting visas to visitors

A senior Belgian official has resigned after coming under fire for hosting the mayor of Tehran and Russian municipal officials for an all-expenses-paid visit to Brussels.

The resignation of Pascal Smet, a state secretary who handles foreign affairs for Belgium’s Brussels Region state, has prompted critics to demand that federal State Secretary Hadja Lahbib resign as well over the incident. The foreign minister has so far resisted the calls.

Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani and several municipal bosses from Russia were among the 300-odd participants of last week’s "Brussels Urban Summit," an international conference hosted by the Brussels Region.

Zakani, a hardliner from the Society of Pathseekers of the Islamic Revolution political group, was among the mayors whom the region hosted on an all-expenses-paid sojourn, the Belgian media reported.

Smet, the state secretary for external relations and foreign trade of the Brussels government, defended inviting Zakani and other controversial visitors, for whom he helped obtain visas from Lahbib’s foreign ministry, according to Phlegmish news outlet De Morgen.

But on Sunday he said spending taxpayer money on the guests was wrong and done without his knowledge, leading him to resign.

"I find it unacceptable," he said about the expenditure.

Lahbib has not publicly reacted to the calls for her resignation for granting the visas.

Belgium and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. have sought to upgrade ties in recent weeks after years of tensions fell away in a prisoner swap.

Belgian citizen Olivier Vandecasteele was released from prison in Iran last month after more than a year behind bars. An aid worker, he had been sentenced in January to 40 years in prison and 74 lashes on multiple charges, including spying, that the Belgian foreign ministry said were trumped up. He was freed in exchange for an Iranian diplomat who had been imprisoned in Belgium in connection with a failed bomb plot.

Top Iranian officials have expressed interest in parlaying ties with Brussels into a stronger relationship with Europe.

Earlier this month, Lahbib told her Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian that she hoped for closer ties between Iran and Belgium and between Iran and Europe. She also expressed a desire to visit Tehran at the right time.

Among those calling for her resignation is the center-right opposition party N-VA.

With media scrutinizing Belgo-Iranian relations, an N-VA politician in federal parliament, Michael Freilich, has sought to draw attention to his longstanding campaign for the Belgian government to blacklist Hezbollah.

Belgium already bans the military wing of the Iranian proxy group. Freilich, an Orthodox Jew from Antwerp, is promoting legislation that would have the government extend those sanctions to the terror group’s political flank, which is a significant player in Lebanese politics.

He claims that the partial blacklist has turned Belgium into a hub for Hezbollah financial activity. The dichotomy between a political and military arm is "artificial," Freilich told the Belgian PNWS news site.

Britannia, Israel, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands have outlawed Hezbollah in its entirety, as have Serbia, Estonia, the Czech Republic and Guatemala. But the European Union

NIA Names Amritpal Singh's Brother-In-Law As Key Accused In Attack On Indian High Commission In Canada
[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency has named radical preacher Amritpal Singh's brother-in-law Amarjot Singh as the primary accused in the March 23 attack on the Indian High Commission in Canada, Hindustan Times reported citing people familiar with the matter.

On March 23, the Indian High Commission in Ottawa had come under attack from Khalistan

supporters where two grenades were hurled at the building.

As per the first information report filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Amarjot Singh spearheaded a group of demonstrators supporting Khalistan who chanted anti-India slogans, placed Khalistani flags on the high commission's boundary wall, and threw two grenades inside the building. The FIR states that the accused individuals are charged with engaging in unlawful activities, including acts of terrorism.

Also, the central agency has named eight Khalistan supporters, including Baba Sarvan Singh for attacking the Indian Consulate in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
The Indian Consulate in San Francisco was also attacked on March 20.

Last week, the NIA took over both cases from the Delhi Police. FIRs were registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) by Delhi Police Special Cell regarding the March 2023 attack in Canada and San Francisco (US). The case has now been transferred to the NIA, ANI reported citing sources.

Amarjot Singh is said to be the brother-in-law of Amritpal Singh. "When the Punjab

3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

police and Centre launched a manhunt for Amritpal Singh, Amarjot led protests against India in Canada. These protests were being spearheaded by Khalistani leaders like Hardeep Singh Nijjar [who was mysteriously rubbed out in Surrey, British Columbia last week] and London-based Avtar Singh Khanda [who died in a hospital in Birmingham last week]. It is being investigated whether he was in touch with Amritpal Singh at that time," an officer, requesting anonymity, told the daily.

It has to be noted that Radical preacher Amritpal Singh was arrested from Punjab's Moga in April. Singh had been on the run since March 18 when a police crackdown was launched against him and his outfit 'Waris Punjab De'.

Iraq
Coordinating Committee for Iraqi Resistance Issues Ultimatum to Iraqi Government Over ‘US Violations’
[Shafaq News] The Coordinating Committee for the Iraqi Resistance®, comprising four Shia groups aligned with Iran, has issued a solid ultimatum to the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, demanding immediate action against perceived "US violations" in the country.

The committee has warned that failure to address their concerns will result in a forceful response, vowing to respond "appropriately" if one of its "leaders" is targeted.

In a statement released by the committee, they emphasized their "unwavering commitment to prioritizing the interests of the Iraqi people, particularly in light of the significant political, security, and economic challenges facing the nation."

As a show of their commitment, they temporarily suspended military operations against the US military presence within Iraq. The said.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
the committee was keen to clarify that this temporary halt should not be misconstrued as acceptance of the ongoing presence of US forces, which they "consider illegal and unconstitutional."

They further condemned what they perceive as persistent interference by the United States in Iraqi affairs, flagrant violations of Iraqi illusory sovereignty, and the detrimental effects of the continued presence of US military bases, combat forces, and military aviation. Additionally, they accused the US embassy of spreading vice, moral deviation and undermining the Iraqi cultural identity.

The committee also expressed concern over alleged attempts to manipulate Iraqi rights and deprive the population of essential services, notably electricity. The threat to target a resistance leader was seen as exceptionally provocative.

In light of these grievances, the committee stressed its national duty to respond appropriately if these violations persist. While asserting that they have thus far exercised restraint, they cautioned that their patience has limits and actions have consequences.

Concluding the statement, the committee granted the Iraqi government a final opportunity to address the violations. They clarified that their patience is not infinite and warned that failure to heed their demands would result in a reaction.

The request sets the stage for potential escalation between the Iraqi resistance and US forces stationed in the country, raising concerns about further destabilization in an already fragile region.

Maj. Gen. Yahya Rasool Reveals Updates on Iraqi Army's Volunteering and Security Situation
[Shafaq News] Major General Yahya Rasool, the front man for the Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief, announced on Saturday that the opening of volunteering in the Iraqi army is contingent upon the availability of financial allocations in the budget.

In a statement to Shafaq News Agency, Rasool provided details about the role of two new brigades in the areas between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army and the security situation in the Tarmiyah district north of Baghdad.

Maj. Gen. Rasool said that the Ministry of Defense is awaiting budget instructions and the allocated funds to determine the feasibility of opening the door to volunteering.

"If financial allocations are available; the ministry will officially announce it through its websites."

He stressed the importance of recruiting new young individuals capable of assuming responsibilities, with the specific age requirements to be determined by military leadership based on the needs of the service.

Regarding cooperation with the Peshmerga forces, Rasool highlighted the high-level cooperation and continuous meetings between the Iraqi army and the Peshmerga.

"The formation of the two brigades, consisting of the army and Peshmerga personnel, has been completed. However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
the federal government's payment of salaries for the Peshmerga Brigade is pending budget approval." He explained.

"The two brigades will be tasked with conducting operations in abandoned areas, targeting remnants of ISIS and clearing these areas of any threats."

The official Iraqi spokesperson stated that ISIS incubators are minimal, with remnants in some remote desert and mountainous regions. Additionally, the Iraqi security forces, supported by intelligence services, are actively pursuing and targeting these remnants through operations and Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s.

Concerning the security situation in Tarmiyah, he mentioned that while there are no active ISIS members present, small terrorist groups consisting of two to six individuals may move through the area, utilizing its agricultural lands, dense orchards, water bodies, and forests as hiding places. Nevertheless, security operations, combined with the cooperation of citizens and security services, have eliminated several vital terrorist figures in these areas.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
‘Our response to terror’: PM okays 1,000 new homes in West Bank settlement of Eli
[IsraelTimes] Prime minister, defense and finance ministers agree on plan as response to killing of four Israelis in Paleostinian terror attack in community the day before
As we have recommended here at Rantburg: the longer the Palestinians refuse to sign an actual peace treaty, the more land they lose. As Fred’s auto-translate proclaims, “Some have to actually pee on the electric fence.”
Israel will authorize 1,000 new homes to be constructed in the West Bank settlement of Eli, the site of a deadly terror attack that killed four Israelis, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in a statement Wednesday.

The decision was made in a meeting between Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich who agreed on the "immediate advancement" of planning for the homes.

"Our response to terror is to hit it hard and build in our land," the statement said.

Nachman Mordoff and Elisha Anteman, both 17 years old, as well as 21-year-old Harel Masood and 64-year-old Ofer Fayerman, were at a hummus restaurant and an adjacent gas station on Tuesday when a pair of armed Paleostinians opened fire, killing them and injuring four others. One of the snuffies was rubbed out at the scene by an armed Israeli civilian, while the second fled and was killed some two hours later by special forces.

Funerals for all four were held on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It was not clear if the new homes for Eli were part of reported existing plans for thousands more homes in West Bank settlements.

Jordan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement blasting the plans to build 1,000 new homes at Eli, warning Israel against further violations of international law that risk burying the two-state solution for good.

Earlier this week the government passed a controversial resolution that gives practically all control over planning approval for construction in West Bank settlements to Smotrich, an ultranationalist advocate of settlements, and said it would green-light over 4,500 new settler homes next week.

The decision approved at Sunday morning’s cabinet meeting, which took immediate effect, also dramatically expedites and eases the process for expanding existing West Bank settlements and retroactively legalizing some illegal outposts.

According to the resolution, which is an amendment to a 1996 government decision, the numerous stages of authorization hitherto needed from the defense minister for the approval of land usage designation masterplans will be reduced to just one required signature. And, in line with a previous agreement, that approval will now come from Smotrich in his secondary role as a minister within the Defense Ministry in charge of settlement affairs.

On Monday, United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
Secretary-General António Guterres
...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. In both a 2012 and 2014 poll, the Portuguese public ranked him as the best Prime Minister of the previous 30 years...
said he was "deeply troubled" after Israel gave Smotrich the new powers and approved the new homes in the West Bank.

UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland warned that Israel’s moves were liable to increase friction.

The announcements were also pilloried by the US State Department, which said Sunday that it was "deeply troubled" by settlement construction in the West Bank, which Washington branded as an "obstacle to peace."

A majority of the 4,560 units up for approval will be located in Jewish communities located deep in the West Bank, east of the security barrier in what will further complicate efforts to create a contiguous, viable Paleostinian state.

Earlier Wednesday, hundreds of settlers, including leaders of the movement and members of Netanyahu’s ruling coalition, traveled to the illegal West Bank outpost of Evyatar, urging the government to approve a new permanent settlement there in response to the Eli attack.

#1  Add to above: In 2013, the Israeli Civil Administration published a master plan (no. 237) which would legitimize hundreds of the structures in Eli and incorporate Eli's four outposts, from the land of Palestinian villages As-Sawiye and Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya.
