[DonSurber] Now that the truth is out about covid, those smug and self-righteous pushers of vaccines that did not vaccinate and masks that didn't work are demanding we just forget about the whole thing.
Emily Oster of The Atlantic wants to declare Pandemic Amnesty, which would forgive her and the rest of the Faucists who cheered the use of the power of the state to shut down the economy and force people to take shots or lose their jobs.
She wrote, "Given the amount of uncertainty, almost every position was taken on every topic. And on every topic, someone was eventually proved right, and someone else was proved wrong. In some instances, the right people were right for the wrong reasons. In other instances, they had a prescient understanding of the available information.
"The people who got it right, for whatever reason, may want to gloat. Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts. All of this gloating and defensiveness continues to gobble up a lot of social energy and to drive the culture wars, especially on the internet. These discussions are heated, unpleasant and, ultimately, unproductive. In the face of so much uncertainty, getting something right had a hefty element of luck. And, similarly, getting something wrong wasn’t a moral failing. Treating pandemic choices as a scorecard on which some people racked up more points than others is preventing us from moving forward."
Heated up?

Britannica:
Amnesty is granted usually for political crimes against the state, such as treason, sedition, or rebellion. It is addressed generally to classes or communities and takes the form of a legislative act or other constitutional or statutory act of the supreme power of the state.
I think they already did. I mean, you can feel the pain, can you not?

No Amnesty.
Move to Brazil, they have no extradition so the Kovidians can retire safe there. They also have a new socialist government so they can live the dream.

I didn't watch the first on so why watch the second. The same goes for Wakanda.

The commercials for each are so generic and tagging in all the signs of bad movies, I keep hoping that Avatar 2 and Wakanda 2 are the same Water World movie and they fight each other.

I'm sure they'll weave wokery into an alien story too. As if the entire universe could be beset by guilt mongering grifters and self-righteous fools.
My favourite movie alien will always be the Yautja. He just lives for fun doesn't he?

My 10 minute Avatar™ sequel:
[Cut to Starship Bridge, Avatar in background and a comet body in foreground through bridge windows]
[Cut to space shuttle landing in open space surrounded by natives. Shutters on side open to show man in 'HiTech Business Chic'] Short dialog with The Company offering 'The Deal' and the Hero™ and Natives turning it down [Rude gestures by Natives]
[Aide to 'Suit'}: "Sir, we have 5 minutes..."
['Suit' as shuttle rises into sky]: "What a pity..."
[Break to Starship, engine 'things' detach from from comet, Avatar gets larger in screen, Engine noises as ship climbs away to higher orbit]
[Starship Pilot]: "Retros detached and course nominal..."
[Scene change] News program shows picture of very large impact on Avatar with commentator announcing that 'XYZ Corporation just happens to be sending disaster relief for the poor natives'. Chyron on bottom of screen: "XYZ STOCK HAS MASSIVE GAINS ON REPORT OF NEW UNOBTANIUM FINDS..."
Make that guy a rep from Weyland-Yutani Corp doing gain-of-function research on Avatar, add in a xenomorph infestation and you have a rocking hit, magpie! It would even resonate! Bank!
[The Naked Hedgie] On Monday, 26 September 2022 someone blew up the Nord Stream pipeline system, built at Germany’s request, to deliver Natural Gas from Russia to Germany. For a number of reasons, some of which I articulated in the article, "Britain’s Secret Diplomacy and the European Wars," I thought that Great Britain was probably the mastermind and one of the perpetrators behind the attacks. Again, not any legitimate British government organization, but some deep state networks within the British military and structures. I expressed this view in the podcast with Tom Luongo, published five days after the attacks.
This week, Russia’s Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Defence revealed that Britain’s (then) PM Liz Truss sent a message to the US State Secretary Antony Blinken, saying "It’s done."
The message was sent only one minute after the pipelines were destroyed. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova demanded an explanation from the British government. Not surprisingly, the allegations were rejected on both sides of the Atlantic, with the UK Ministry of Defence claiming that the Russians were "peddling false claims on an epic scale." Of course they are: we all know that we in the west are the good guys and that the Russians are evil, so that should settle the issue. Or maybe not. If you’re not so sure about the western narrative anymore, please continue reading.
DEMISTIFYING CYBER-INTELLIGENCE
From the perspective of an average newsflow consumer, it may seem weird that the Russians could hack into Liz Truss’ text messages, but the German-Finnish tech entrepreneur Kim Dotcom weighed in to demystify the world of cyber intelligence. In a tweet on 30 Oct, he wrote, "How do the Russians know that the UK blew up the North Stream pipelines in partnership with the US? Because @trussliz used her iPhone to send a message to @SecBlinken saying ’It’s done’ a minute after the pipeline blew up and before anybody else knew? iCloud admin access rocks!"
In yesterday’s thread, Dotcom elaborated further, adding some credibility to his viewpoint:

How could she have known it was done? Nobody knew it was done. It took a while for the seismic data to be recognized, and a helicopter to fly out and photograph the environment-destroying methane leaking into the biosphere.
Well, a NATO helicopter did fly the route of the pipeline. A total coincidence. And Jeffrey Epstein killed himself.
[The Hill] The situation in Haiti is deteriorating rapidly. While no stranger to catastrophe, Haiti may be facing its worst situation in at least a decade. The country’s rapidly spiraling decline is due to multiple crises occurring simultaneously: political strife, civil unrest, rampant poverty, gang violence, a recent earthquake and now, a deadly cholera outbreak. Despite the vast humanitarian needs, a blockade is preventing the delivery of essential humanitarian and civilian supplies into the capital city of Port-au-Prince, further endangering the lives of millions of Haitians.
The U.S., collaborating with the Haitian community, needs to set a new policy for Haiti. And it should start now. Latest tourism ad: "Come to Haiti! Stay for the Cholera!" SOUNDING THE ALARMS
In order to stave off the worst, the global community must establish an enforced humanitarian corridor to enable the effective and safe transport of medicine, water, food, sanitation supplies, and fuel to the people of Haiti.
The U.S. and Canada seem to have recognized the urgency of the situation and last week sent armored vehicles to "assist [Haiti’s National Police] in their fight against criminal actors who are fomenting violence and disrupting the flow of critically-needed humanitarian assistance," according to the Department of State. While it’s a step, it will be far from sufficient without a humanitarian corridor allowing for the distribution of goods.
Further, USAID activated their Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) and funded several flights of critical commodities. Should actors on the ground be able to distribute them, they will prove immensely helpful. Similarly, the activation of the UN Central Emergency Response Fund should help accelerate UN mobilization. But much more is needed.

Beso,
I could not agree with you more. We have been trying to stand them up for more than a century now; and enough is enough. Let the UN take them, or somebody else - but not us, not one dime, not one life.
[YouTube] Russia may have a bizarre component of their nuclear doctrine known as "escalate to deescalate": escalate a conflict by using a few nuclear weapons with the expectation that it will force the other side to quickly deescalate. Is that plausible in the current conflict? This video reviews the possibilities.
