[MAIL] Authorities with the paramilitary police in Italy seized 120 grams of cocaine from hotel rooms used by the catering staff of The Equalizer 3 after the film's head caterer suffered a fatal heart attack.
Two caterers were arrested by Carabinieri cops in connection with the drug bust at the hotel on the Amalfi Coast at the Maiori resort, the Italian newspaper Il Giornale reported, according to Variety.
According to reports, after the head caterer's heart attack Monday, officials retrieved a number of small packages of cocaine from his clothing, leading authorities to raid various areas of the production.

[Breitbart] Alleged burglar Jeffery L. Carl was found hiding in a shed at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday after a Franklin, Ohio, homeowner shot him in the butt.
Journal News reports that Carl allegedly "attempted to burglarize a Park Avenue house" early Wednesday when the homeowner shot him.
Dayton Daily News observes that Carl fled the scene on foot after being shot and a police K-9 found him "hiding in a shed not far from the victim’s residence." Carl had been shot in the butt.
FOX 19 notes that Carl was taken to a hospital to have his wound treated, then transferred to the Franklin Police Department.

[FoxNews] Reported Chinese land buy in Florida for primate testing won't end well, expert warns. Dr. Lisa Jones-Engel says this could be a risk to the entire country.
Animal rights activists are voicing concerns over a reported recent purchase of 1,400 acres by a Chinese bioresearch firm in Florida for the purpose of primate breeding and quarantine.
JOINN Labs purchased the property off US-98 in July from a cattle and timber company for about $3.1 million, according to the Citrus Chronicle.
Dr. Lisa Jones-Engel, who also serves as an adviser to PETA, told Fox News the primate experimentation "industry" is characteristically secretive and dangerous.
"Everyone has to recognize that this is a really significant risk, a risk to the monkeys who never make it out of these experiments or this industry alive — or worse, of the Florida residents, a risk to the entire country," she said.
Jones-Engel said during the pandemic, 100,000 wild monkeys were brought into captivity in "filthy, disease-ridden" farms in Asia, where they were packed into crates and flown to the United States, often arriving ones that were diseased or dead.
Fox News host Jesse Watters pointed to that process, citing a highway crash on a frigid January night that led to several monkeys escaping into the forest of Montour County, Penn.
One passer-by initially thought the crated animals were housecats, with Watters noting the Good Samaritan later came down with conjunctivitis from her contact with the animal. The escaped primates were later captured and euthanized.
Jones-Engel noted that in addition to such incidents that endanger the public, results from experimentation on non-human primates are often negligible.
"The failure of these monkey experiments to actually lead to any meaningful improvements in human health, and now we have a Chinese company who is coming in saying, ‘Hey, we want a foothold in this industry — we want to place this massive quarantine and breeding facility in Florida,’" she said.
"This is not going to go well for anyone," the expert added, noting the increased potential for "zoonotic disease" to emanate from such animal subjects.
Watters later noted the monkeys in the Pennsylvania incident were en route from JFK Airport in New York City to a federal CDC facility in the nation's interior.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' office said the purchase is an example of the type of activity by China that the governor is trying to stop.
"The governor has been consistently opposed to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s growing influence in Florida, and this proposed facility is a prime example of the type of activity that we are acting to prohibit," read the statement.
"On September 22, the governor held a press conference in Miami to unveil proposed legislation designed to counteract malign influence by China and other hostile nations through, among other means, prohibiting certain land purchases. Additionally, the governor signed Executive Order 22-216 to prohibit state entities from procuring technology products and services from companies owned by, controlled by, or domiciled in China and other foreign countries of concern."

This is laughable to anyone over 50. We remember Fed funds rates over 20% (not a typo.) AND inflation is still at 8.2%. These rates aren't even close to being "restrictive."

That is the debt trap we are in. Any interest rate above zero is highly inflationary since the only way to pay the interest is to print or borrow money. Printing money means inflation now. Borrowing means even higher inflation (not very far) down the road.
