[MAIL] Authorities with the paramilitary police in Italy seized 120 grams of cocaine from hotel rooms used by the catering staff of The Equalizer 3 after the film's head caterer suffered a fatal heart attack.
Two caterers were arrested by Carabinieri cops in connection with the drug bust at the hotel on the Amalfi Coast at the Maiori resort, the Italian newspaper Il Giornale reported, according to Variety.
According to reports, after the head caterer's heart attack Monday, officials retrieved a number of small packages of cocaine from his clothing, leading authorities to raid various areas of the production.

My son told me that at Vincenza (173 Abn) there's always a Carabineri on duty at the main gate. With a Beretta SMG. Can't be having strays wander in.

Another vote for the pic. Those are truly badass boots and peaked caps. White braid’s a nice touch too. None of that gaudy gold shit.

Saw a couple Carabineri having espresso at a plaza on the Autostrada when I was in Italy. Even on break, they had those Berettas slung behind them.

I saw a Carabiniero drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was… perfect
Ha!
He's the silver-sabred gent who ran amok in Trent(o)
Lately, he's been overheard in Parma
You better stay away from him
He'll blow your lungs out, Jim
HA! I'd like to meet his tailor

[WSB-2] HOUSTON, TX. — An autopsy has revealed that Migos rapper Takeoff died from penetrating gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
According to the Houston County Coroner’s office, the bullets also went into his arm. The official manner of his death has been ruled a homicide. Going out on a limb, I'd have to agree

An autopsy has revealed ... Takeoff died from penetrating gunshot wounds to the head and torso
Two death experts, very well read,
stood wondering how this music man
lay on their table dead.
They looked at each other
and in unison said,
"I think it was the lead,
that went into his head."

From the BBC story: https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-63483768
Is this genuine or trying to get rid of evidence?
...
Other musicians asked fans not to share videos of Takeoff's final moments on social media.
"Delete all footage and people talkin' about it so it doesn't exist," Wiz Khalifa wrote. Former Fifth Harmony singer Lauren Jauregui echoed the message, writing: "I wish this could go without saying but please do not watch or circulate that video. We're all so desensitized to death and it's so sad."

[Breitbart] Alleged burglar Jeffery L. Carl was found hiding in a shed at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday after a Franklin, Ohio, homeowner shot him in the butt.
Journal News reports that Carl allegedly "attempted to burglarize a Park Avenue house" early Wednesday when the homeowner shot him.
Dayton Daily News observes that Carl fled the scene on foot after being shot and a police K-9 found him "hiding in a shed not far from the victim’s residence." Carl had been shot in the butt.
FOX 19 notes that Carl was taken to a hospital to have his wound treated, then transferred to the Franklin Police Department.

[Guardian - 5 months ago] The CIA director William Burns urged Jair Bolsonaro to stop questioning his country’s voting system, it has been claimed, amid growing fears the Brazilian president might refuse to accept defeat in this year’s election.
Polls suggest Bolsonaro, a far-right populist famed for his adulation of Donald Trump, will struggle to secure a second term when about 150 million Brazilians head to the polls in October to choose their next leader.
Bolsonaro’s leftist rival, the former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, is currently in pole position, and will formally announce his candidacy at a convention in São Paulo this weekend.

Polls suggest Bolsonaro, a far-right populist famed for his adulation of Donald Trump.....
And his (Bolsonaro's) quest to remain free of Chinese influence in Brazil. The parallels within the pattern analysis of available entities and methodologies are revealing....but not surprising. 'Regime change' here at home and abroad ?

I think once you have a nationalist party in, the best thing in this era would be to do away with elections altogether. Let people vote directly on municipal and local matters and not leaders. The leftist oppositions can be pruned to a handful of squeeky voices on teevee and that's it.
No, don't make a face, the Left is doing just this. They're just going to leave you with an appearance of franchise while consolidating right and left into one hive.
#3
If Bolsonaro had commented on elections in the USA what do you think the USA response would have been? Since when is it the CIA's job to publicly approve of elections held throughout the world?
#4
Since when is it the CIA's job to publicly approve of elections held throughout the world?
Since at least 1950.
Neither Truman or Eisenhower could get a fix on what the SOB's were doing with their overseas operations or budget. The Klingon end-state was a deep concern to both. After Kennedy, White House attitudes and concerns were no longer an issue. Once Obama was installed it was a gentle Nordic down-hill.

I think that the CIA tried to use CNN as a mouthpiece for these talking points but now that it isn’t in airports anymore the campaign had no effect.

I think the reason for doubt is because similar to US 2020 election the downstream votes went to Right leaning candidates but somehow the Presidential results skewed Left. Just like against Trump
[FoxNews] Reported Chinese land buy in Florida for primate testing won't end well, expert warns. Dr. Lisa Jones-Engel says this could be a risk to the entire country.
Animal rights activists are voicing concerns over a reported recent purchase of 1,400 acres by a Chinese bioresearch firm in Florida for the purpose of primate breeding and quarantine.
JOINN Labs purchased the property off US-98 in July from a cattle and timber company for about $3.1 million, according to the Citrus Chronicle.
Dr. Lisa Jones-Engel, who also serves as an adviser to PETA, told Fox News the primate experimentation "industry" is characteristically secretive and dangerous.
"Everyone has to recognize that this is a really significant risk, a risk to the monkeys who never make it out of these experiments or this industry alive — or worse, of the Florida residents, a risk to the entire country," she said.
Jones-Engel said during the pandemic, 100,000 wild monkeys were brought into captivity in "filthy, disease-ridden" farms in Asia, where they were packed into crates and flown to the United States, often arriving ones that were diseased or dead.
Fox News host Jesse Watters pointed to that process, citing a highway crash on a frigid January night that led to several monkeys escaping into the forest of Montour County, Penn.
One passer-by initially thought the crated animals were housecats, with Watters noting the Good Samaritan later came down with conjunctivitis from her contact with the animal. The escaped primates were later captured and euthanized.
Jones-Engel noted that in addition to such incidents that endanger the public, results from experimentation on non-human primates are often negligible.
"The failure of these monkey experiments to actually lead to any meaningful improvements in human health, and now we have a Chinese company who is coming in saying, ‘Hey, we want a foothold in this industry — we want to place this massive quarantine and breeding facility in Florida,’" she said.
"This is not going to go well for anyone," the expert added, noting the increased potential for "zoonotic disease" to emanate from such animal subjects.
Watters later noted the monkeys in the Pennsylvania incident were en route from JFK Airport in New York City to a federal CDC facility in the nation's interior.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' office said the purchase is an example of the type of activity by China that the governor is trying to stop.
"The governor has been consistently opposed to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s growing influence in Florida, and this proposed facility is a prime example of the type of activity that we are acting to prohibit," read the statement.
"On September 22, the governor held a press conference in Miami to unveil proposed legislation designed to counteract malign influence by China and other hostile nations through, among other means, prohibiting certain land purchases. Additionally, the governor signed Executive Order 22-216 to prohibit state entities from procuring technology products and services from companies owned by, controlled by, or domiciled in China and other foreign countries of concern."
[MSN] The Fed, as widely expected, raised its key short-term rate by three-quarters of a percentage point to a range of 3.75% to 4%, a decidedly "restrictive" level intended to fight inflation by further slowing an already wobbly economy. Since March, the Fed has hoisted its federal funds rate; what banks charge each other for overnight loans -- from near zero, its most aggressive such initiative since 1980. Rate was close to zero in Jan 2022. Powell hinted that the next few rate hikes might be less than 75 basis points. NYSE liked that. Mortgage rates probably will hit 8% soon.

Interest on Government Debt Set to Exceed Total Annual Defense Spending
By Petr Svab November 2, 2022 Updated: November 2, 2022
The United States is on pace to spend more to maintain its debt than on its own military. In the third quarter, the federal government spent over $184 billion on interest payments on its debt. That means an annual cost of over $730 billion. Meanwhile, the Department of Defense 2022 budget was about $720 billion.

"a range of 3.75% to 4%, a decidedly "restrictive" level "
This is laughable to anyone over 50. We remember Fed funds rates over 20% (not a typo.) AND inflation is still at 8.2%. These rates aren't even close to being "restrictive."

True that current rates are not restrictive enough yet.
That's why another two, or maybe three, rounds of rate increases are very likely.

That is the debt trap we are in. Any interest rate above zero is highly inflationary since the only way to pay the interest is to print or borrow money. Printing money means inflation now. Borrowing means even higher inflation (not very far) down the road.
