FACT-O-RAMA! Adam Fox was so destitute he was living in the basement of a vacuum repair shop. An FBI informant offered him a credit card with a value of $5,000 to buy ammo for the kidnapping plot on several occasions, and Fox refused it.
The first trial ended in a mistrial for both men but set two other defendants free.
American Greatness senior writer Julie Kelly has been covering the controversial trials, even referring to them as the “Michigan fednapping” case.
The case is controversial because many of the people involved were FBI agents or informants. By some counts, as many as 12 agents or informants were involved.

Both men could spend the rest of their lives in prison. It is not yet known if they will appeal.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday vetoed a bill that would have allowed cities to open supervised drug-injection sites
The idea of the bill was to provide drug addicts with controlled substances in a supervised environment, where they could be connected with rehab specialists
Trained staff would also be able to respond in case of an overdose
But in a veto letter on Monday, Newsom said he has concerns about the 'unintended consequences' of these injection sites
A pilot program in San Francisco resulted in addicts openly taking drugs in the middle of the day, with school kids forced to walk home through the grisly scene

Long before it professed no prior knowledge of the raid on Donald Trump's estate, the Biden White House worked directly with the Justice Department and National Archives to instigate the criminal probe into alleged mishandling of documents, allowing the FBI to review evidence retrieved from Mar-a-Lago this spring and eliminating the 45th president's claims to executive privilege, according to contemporaneous government documents reviewed by Just the News.
The memos show then-White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su was engaged in conversations with the FBI, DOJ and National Archives as early as April, shortly after 15 boxes of classified and other materials were voluntarily returned to the federal historical agency from Trump's Florida home.
By May, Su conveyed to the Archives that President Joe Biden would not object to waiving his predecessor's claims to executive privilege, a decision that opened the door for DOJ to get a grand jury to issue a subpoena compelling Trump to turn over any remaining materials he possessed from his presidency.
The machinations are summarized in several memos and emails exchanged between the various agencies in spring 2022, months before the FBI took the added unprecedented step of raiding Trump's Florida compound with a court-issued search warrant.
The most complete summary was contained in a lengthy letter dated May 10 that acting National Archivist Debra Steidel Wall sent Trump's lawyers summarizing the White House's involvement.
"On April 11, 2022, the White House Counsel's Office — affirming a request from the Department of Justice supported by an FBI letterhead memorandum — formally transmitted a request that NARA provide the FBI access to the 15 boxes for its review within seven days, with the possibility that the FBI might request copies of specific documents following its review of the boxes," Wall wrote Trump defense attorney Evan Corcoran.

[USA Today] Donald Trump's lawyers are seeking to halt the continued review of classified documents seized from the former president's Mar-a-Lago estate earlier this month until a special master or third party can be appointed to ensure that possibly privileged material is shielded from scrutiny, according to court documents filed Monday.
The lawsuit filed Monday by Trump's legal team cast the search in stark political terms and described the government's search warrant as overly broad because it authorized FBI agents to seize "boxes of documents merely because they are physically found together with other items purportedly within the scope of the warrant."
The former president's attorneys also accused Attorney General Merrick Garland of using the criminal justice system to alter the political landscape.
In their filing, Trump's lawyers also said Garland's recent statement acknowledging the search "clearly suggests that the decision to raid Mar-a-Lago, a mere 90 days before the 2022 midterm elections, involved political calculations aimed at diminishing the leading voice in the Republican party, President Trump."

[Breitbart] Border crossers arriving in New York City on migrant buses sent from Texas by Gov. Greg Abbott (R) are being awarded healthcare services as well as free cellphones, among other things.
On Sunday, as the New York Post reports, the city’s hospital system held an event for arriving border crossers at a hospital in the Bronx where they were offered healthcare services along with free cellphones, food, library cards, and school supplies.
The event comes as Mayor Eric Adams (D) estimates that, in the last few weeks, Abbott has bused more than 4,000 border crossers to New York City as part of his plan to alleviate waves of illegal immigration to Texas by transporting new arrivals to sanctuary cities run by Democrats.
In addition to free goodies from the city, thousands of border crossers are expected to be housed in luxury hotel rooms across Manhattan.
Last week, Breitbart News reported that New York City officials are planning to house border crossers arriving on migrant buses in about 6,000 hotel rooms. That plan comes as rents for New Yorkers have skyrocketed.
Likewise, New York City Cardinal Timothy Dolan said Catholic Charities is working to enroll young border crossers in high-priced Catholic schools.

Holder also warned that teams of Republicans working to prevent voter fraud in the midterm election would “muck up the process” and “intimidate people,” which he argued was a “threat” to democracy.
“The iteration of this Republican Party just ain’t that into democracy,” he said, warning that Republican efforts to secure elections would try to “guarantee themselves a positive result” in future elections.
Holder said his committee was working on drafting teams of election monitors and polling workers in every state to fight Republicans and called for volunteers.
“In the absence of some kind of countermeasures by those of us who favor democracy, they will take our democracy from us,” he said.
Holder also spoke about the midterm elections at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival.
“If we want to be at the place where we need to be, it’s up to this generation at this time to make sure these changes occur. We have that capacity,” he said. “The cavalry is not coming. We are the cavalry.”
