[NY POST] Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to undergo cancer surgery and temporarily hand over power to a hardline former federal police chief, according to a new report.
Putin will transfer control of Russia’s government to Nikolai Patrushev, head of the Russian federal police’s Security Council, while he is incapacitated during and after the procedure, according to a video from the mysterious Telegram channel “General SVR” on Saturday.
The channel — which is purportedly run by a former Russian Foreign Intelligence Service lieutenant general known by the pseudonym “Viktor Mikhailovich” — reported that Putin has been told by doctors that he must undergo an operation.
The anticipated surgery and recovery are expected to incapacitate Putin for “a short time,” according to the unconfirmed report.
“Putin is unlikely to agree to hand over power for a longer period of time,” the narrator of the video states, adding that the control of the country will likely be in Patrushev’s hands for no more than two to three days.
“I will say that this is the worst option,” the narrator adds. “Patrushev is an outright villain. He is no better than Vladimir Putin. Moreover, he is a more cunning, and I would say, more insidious person than Vladimir Putin. If he comes to power, Russians’ problems will only multiply.”
The video follows reporting from Russian investigative outlet The Project, which — in a sizeable report on the strongman’s vigor — claimed he has been seen by a cancer doctor 35 times in recent years. Putin has become so paranoid about his health, the outlet claimed, he has even turned to unconventional, and barbaric, therapies.
Putin is said to bathe in the blood extracted from deer antlers, which are hacked off while they are growing and still full of fresh blood, the outlet said. The sickening “antler baths” are an alternative therapy in the Altai region of Russia, which borders Khazakstan and Mongolia.
Believers say the baths improve the cardiovascular system and rejuvenate the skin, The Project explained.

Colorectal cancer is not a trivial thing, especially if it has metastasized. Couple that with the alleged Parkinson's, and Putin is facing a very rapidly ticking clock.
Bowel resection/colectomy and the resultant need for a (temporary) colostomy are common surgical treatments. But if it spreads to his liver, and bones, he is going to need extensive chemo, and if it gets into the spine/brain, then he will need radiation.
As evil as he may be, I do pray for him because cancer sucks, its horrible, even if you do survive it.

If the Russians launched a nuclear attack on the US, Nikolai Patrushev would prefer the ballistic missile not come across the Pacific making it a target of US defence systems, he would prefer the ballistic missile leave northern Russia, travel over the North Pole, over Canada and into the US target area (DC, NYC) a path unchallenged by US systems.

Vlad, the poor paranoid stricken bastid, may be nearing the end of his string. Tucker's notion of Russian 'Regime change' as justification for US involvement in the Ukraine doesn't seem to be supported.

/\ Interesting observation WU, especially with Vlad reported to be personally taking charge of the management of the combat effort in the Ukraine. Hopefully, he'll experience the same outcomes as our highly vaunted "intelligence community and Foggy Bottom geniuses" experienced in Iraq and Afghanistan. And prior to that, the Johnson and Kissinger White House brain trust "managing" the combat effort in Vietnam.
Believe me when I tell you the big green Army had little to do with the day-to-day strategy of events in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Where does it say colorectal? Did I miss something? I read somewhere previously it was thyroid cancer. But all cancer is bad and, even if you survive, it will not leave you unscathed.

And that was the last anyone ever heard from Vlad the Invader.

Ref #13: Waiting on a lift to somewhere years ago at Bagram and got evicted from my chair at the USO. Some disgusting entitlement wench said it was "for sojurs only." I told her I was sojuring before she was born and long since retired. No place for old white men. I picked up my pack and went outside, never to return or have anything to do with a USO again.

Thoughts:
* Trap to catch any coup-plotters who would naturally punch while Putin was undergoing surgery?
* A semi-graceful way for Putin to bow out of power and let someone else finish/end the war?
* Late diagnosis and he has no choice but to under surgery

There are two problems with that bar, Murcek. First, it's in Over-The-Rhine. No matter how gentrified that neighborhood becomes, I won't trust it.
Second, they have a pierogie filled with an abomination they call "vegetarian Cincinnati chili". As Cincinnati chili is the liquid phase of meat, there cannot be a vegetarian version of it.
At least they used the home-town Frank's Red Hot.

Never been there. It was a tip from a friend. I used to hang out in a place where some low level Russian mafia went in Pittsburgh, but I tend towards BBQ pits and dive bars myself. I avoid the wrong side of town by staying out of town as much as possible these days.

It’s fascinating on how Americans receive information……
General SVR is a Ukrainian propaganda telegram site.
The ny post is just doing is part in the anti Russian cia propaganda. Rantburg is just participating in this game.
Reality is .Russia is winning the war
Ukraine will cease to exist
Elensky will be killed by is own
USA Europe and the rest will be behind the new Asian block.
And the USA dollar will be trashed.
All of this noise is because the USA government doesn’t want to be investigated regarding their crimes and theft.

Walter B, Two months ago everyone predicted Russia would win the war. The war continues. Maybe they are winning, maybe not.

Posters here throw news on the wall and see what sticks.
Went to a Polish site last night. There lede was a story about horses. German sites aren't much better.
[JustTheNews] Durham's argument is straightforward: Attorney-client privilege doesn't apply to materials the campaign distributed widely to third parties.
But his filing also puts the traditional media on notice that when Sussmann's trial on a charge of lying to the FBI ...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time... begins next month, the unholy alliance between traditional media news hounds and the Democrat machine will be laid bare for the world to see.
And it is clear prosecutors have a clear theory that much of the information spread and then reported by the news media was glaringly weak if not outright false. Durham's filings refer to the Clinton opposition research alternately as a "red herring," "unverified" "too obvious" to be true, or containing a "very weak link." In some cases, those were words used by the very researchers helping assemble the materials.
Yet the traditional media reported it and re-reported it for nearly two years before Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded there was no evidence of a Trump-Russia conspiracy to hijack the 2016 election.
"One of the famous fake news outlets likes to say, 'Democracy dies in darkness.' They're exactly right," former Rep. Devin Nunes, the Republican House Intelligence Committee chairman who helped uravel the Russia collusion narrative, told Just the News. "They're the ones who have created the darkness, and democracy does die. It just happens to be the fake news media that's actually creating this."

Expose this unholy alliance all you want. The media will never report it so people will never know.

Durham releases the obvious. You can't really separate the 2016 from the 2020 election. Toss in big tech and the RINO governors in swing states and Durham will have it about right. Recall this story a month after the 2020 election in American Thinker here. Hillary, the smartest woman in the universe was supposed to win in 2016. The 2020 big steal was the result of the 2016 fail.
Emails obtained by DailyMail.com reveal Hunter Biden had courted Vladimir Yevtushenkov, a Russian oligarch with close ties to Putin
The billionaire, 73, owns a company which has reportedly supplied Putin's forces with drones used for deadly bombings in Ukraine
He was sanctioned by the UK and Australia this month but remains unsanctioned by the Biden administration
The president's son and his now-jailed business partner Devon Archer sought an investment from the billionaire in Rosemont Realty in 2012 and 2013
Emails from his abandoned laptop show Hunter booked a trip to Moscow for a dinner with the oligarch at his company Sistema's headquarters in February 2012
A Sistema itinerary translated from Russian also showed a March 14, 2012 'breakfast with Hunter Biden' at the Ritz-Carlton in New York
The following day, Yevtushenkov had another 'breakfast with Rosemont Realty' at the city's Ritz-Carlton on March 15, according to the itinerary
[NYPOST] Elon Musk "vehemently" opposed Twitter’s decision to ban former President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... , saying the social-media giant was wrong for "censoring ... a sitting president," according to a report.
Jared Birchall, Musk’s top assistant who has been described as the "point man" for the Tesla CEO’s $44 billion takeover bid of Twitter, told an associate that the idea of banning a sitting president from Twitter was "insane," according to The Wall Street Journal.
Musk reportedly "remains dismayed" that Trump is still not permitted to tweet, according to the paper, which cited unnamed sources close to the situation.
