[FoxNews] The Democratic Socialists of America chapter argues 'police presence neither prevented nor deterred' the Brooklyn subway shooting
They’re the political arm of the communists. Of course they want to reduce the number of bourgeois, law-abiding, law-enforcing police in service of the status quo, removing a key barrier to their militant arm overthrowing the government.
The New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America slammed Mayor Eric Adams for the "bloated" police presence within the city’s subway system that did not stop the Tuesday shooting in Brooklyn.
"Since Mayor Adams assumed office, police have maintained a bloated presence in our subways — including at the 36th Street Station where yesterday’s shooting took place: and now, he is cynically doubling down on this policy," NYC-DSA said in a statement Wednesday.
"That police presence neither prevented nor deterred the attack, and failed to prevent the perpetrator from fleeing the scene. The solution to a violent society is a peaceful society, and peace requires material security," the statement from NYC-DSA’s spokeswoman Sumathy Kumar continued.
The statement was released shortly after Adams confirmed the arrest of Frank James, the man accused of opening fire on a busy Brooklyn subway Tuesday morning, the New York Post reported. He injured 29 people, including 10 who suffered gunshot wounds, according to police.
Subway assaults peaked to the highest levels in 25 years in 2021. Adams unveiled plans earlier this year to curb the crimes within the subway system, including increasing police presence and preventing homeless people from sheltering in the system.

It would be interesting to see polling data from people who use the subway with regard to reducing police coverage. Also does the proposed holistic approach include essential oils, because there is nothing that reduces sociopathic behavior like a mix of aromatic scents and dukey.

I'd rather have any NYPD officer on my train thana professed white people hating black man. But that's just me, your opinion is your own.
Don't defund the police, defund the crazy violent people being let back on the street every day.
[FoxNews] The agents have been cleared of wrongdoing but remain on desk duty
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday refused to apologize for the White House’s now-debunked claim that Border Patrol agents were whipping Haitian migrants during a confrontation near the U.S.-Mexico border.
Images emerged in September of Border Patrol agents in Del Rio, Texas, showing agents on horseback blocking migrants from entering the U.S. and, in one case, grabbing onto a migrant’s shirt.
Many Democrats and media outlets falsely described the agents’ long reins, which they use to control their horses, as "whips."
Psaki at the time slammed what she called "brutal and inappropriate" behavior by Border Patrol agents.
"We understand and agree that this has been an incredibly heart-wrenching issue," Psaki said. "We’ve watched the photos of Haitians gathering under a bridge, many with families, and the horrific video of the CBP officers on horses using brutal and inappropriate measures against innocent people."
President Biden weighed in on the controversy, saying "those people will pay."
"There will be an investigation underway now and there will be consequences," Biden said at the time. "There will be consequences."
The agents have since been cleared in the investigation but have been on desk duty since the incident.
Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Psaki Monday afternoon when the president would apologize to the Border Patrol agents.
Psaki evaded the question, saying that the matter is being handled by the Department of Homeland Security and she could not provide any more updates.
When Doocy asked Psaki whether she would apologize, she said the investigation into the matter "would play out."
"Whenever it’s going to be announced, the Department of Homeland Security will announce that," Psaki said. "And then, I’m sure we’ll have a comment on it after that."
[Breitbart] Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) launched and quickly won his border battle with four Mexican state governors – and the D.C. establishment is pretending the victory never happened.
“The governor [of Tamaulipas] will provide enhanced border security enforcement measures on the Mexico side of the border, both in ports of entry as well as along the Rio Grande River to prevent illegal immigration from Mexico into Texas,” Abbott said Friday as he ended the trade-blocking safety inspections of Mexican trucks into Texas.
“If those crossings resumed — or increase — it will signal the cartel-supported crossings have increased and that Texas must reinstate the more stringent vehicle-inspection standard,” he said.
“We are showing how border governors can lead the way on solving border problems,” Abbott said after using the threat of trade blockades to forge deals with four Mexican state governors.
“It remains to be seen how successful this effort of his will be, but clearly it’s an initial success,” responded Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. “It’s perplexing why there hasn’t been more real coverage of it … I’m not familiar with something of this scale happening before,” he added.
The Biden administration said little during Abbott’s border war, Krikorian noted.
Mexico’s federal government also said little.
“It is rather astonishing that a Mexican Prez … (who says to care a great deal about sovereignty) allowed Abbott to bully up individual Mexican state governors (by choking the US/MX supply chain) & forcing them to implement security measures,” said in a Friday tweet by a D.C.-based Mexican journalist, José Díaz Briseño.
On Monday, Mexico’s president briefly commented on the deals won by Texas. “Legally they can do it, but it’s a very despicable way to act,” said Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.
Abbott’s coup “has received surprisingly little mass media coverage for being a state governor directly interfering with international trade policy,” a pro-migration media site said on Friday. “It’s no secret to anyone that Abbott’s got broader political ambitions,” the Border/Lines site added.
The U.S. corporate-run media reported Abbott’s win as an Abbott defeat — and played up business claims of massive economic damage in the United States — despite four Mexican governors signing anti-migration deals in exchange for easier truck traffic into Texas.
But Abbott played up his win on Friday, knowing that he helped himself in his gubernatorial re-election campaign and also boosted his national profile before the 2024 race:
Texas will not tolerate the endless stream of illegal immigrants crossing the border and we will increase our border security in light of President Biden’s decision to eliminate Title 42 expulsions. The ultimate way to end the clogged border is for President Biden to do his job and secure it. Until then, Texas will use its own strategies to secure the border.
“If there is not a slowdown in illegal immigration, there will be a reimplementation of 100 percent inspection of all commercial vehicles,” Abbott said, adding:
A consequence of that is financial pain, and that financial pain is necessary to get the public to insist that their government leaders — such as the presidents of the two countries involved — take the action that is needed to solve this problem.

"The Masked Winger"
I had changed by bet back when to three months thinking he was one who would 'forget' to breathe or have his heart beat. I didn't factor in they probably have him wear a soccer bra overnight. Money Pool, IIRC, was after midterms, only 6 months out.
I imagine whoever said they could have Kamela ready in 2 years is avoiding windows, stairs, and late night walks around DC.
[Right Scoop] Ilhan Omar whined about a video of Christians singing worship songs on an airplane yesterday on the biggest holy day in all of Christendom.
She did it by suggesting that her Muslim family would never be allowed to do the same thing:
Some were quick to point out that this is no ordinary airline flight, but a chartered flight, which means the comparison is stupid and unfair. And bigoted.

Christians singing songs to celebrate Easter is not the equivalent to the call to prayer. Based on the news, the Ramadan equivalent seems to be throwing rocks at police or burning a mile of cars.

Omar faces a rough race in the 5th district. She may get primaried out. If she doesn't get primaried out, she would face a tough general election. Minnesota District 5.
[NEWSBUSTERS.ORG] During This Week’s "Powerhouse Roundtable" discussion on the soaring crime rates in major American cities and what should be done about it, there seemed to be agreement that the Democrats’ "defund the police" agenda is dead. Anchor George Stephanopoulos then turned to panelist and ABC congressional correspondent Rachel Scott and asked: "you don't hear defund the police too much on Capitol Hill, anymore?"
Scott confidently replied, "No, not at all, actually" and aside from the "handful of progressives over in the House" that want to defund the police, there hasn’t been a peep from Democrat politicians about that wildly unpopular agenda.
She also observed that both President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Joe's wife and daughter weren't killed by a drunk driver. He didn't graduate with three or even two degrees, wasn't in the top half of his law class, and his daddy didn't come home from a hard day's work in the mines and play football with the guys. The NAACP hasn't endorsed him every time he's run. On the other hand, he did abandon Afghanistan... and House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments... (D-CA) have admitted defunding the police isn’t a message they even believe, and "Majority Leader Chuck Schumer ...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 46.36754 years, or 324.57277999999997 years in dog years. Senate minority leader as of 2017... has come out and said this is not our message. This is not what we're campaigning on ahead of the midterms."
To make matters worse for the leftists who support defunding the police, Scott pointed out that even New York City "Mayor [Eric] Adams just pointed out there was funding within that Build Back Better plan to actually help coppers."

Muriel Bowser denying that she was for defunding the police is hysterical. The pictures of her overlooking the pavement painted with “Defund The Police,” is sort of inconvenient. Not even the media Ministry of Truth can airbrush that one.

At least ABC's Scott is semi-admitting DEMS did talk about Defund the police because a lot of DEMS are denying that despite footage of them doing so.
[REDSTATE] There’s been a lot of big news over the last several months regarding John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax. The trial of Michael Sussman, who recently lost a bid to dismiss the case, is coming up shortly, and the most recent filing points to a wide range of targets for Durham.
Yet, there’s also something else buried in those revelations: It looks like RemingtonChristopher Steele, the author of the infamous Trump Dossier, is going to get off scot-free.
In the filing, Durham has Steele listed as a witness. There is no indication Steele has taken the 5th Amendment nor that he has gotten an immunity deal. That would likely mean he’s a cooperating witness. Given Steele’s exposure, he wouldn’t agree to such an arrangement if the special counsel hadn’t told him that he will not be prosecuted.
What would being a stool pigeon do to his ability to sell such services in the future?
And as McAdoo Gordon points out in her subsequent commentary, the government can’t just falsely promise not to prosecute someone, garner testimony, and then change its mind. That’s how the Bill Cosby conviction got thrown out.
There is another possible explanation, but it doesn’t appear to fully add up. That is that Durham is looking to use old testimony from a lawsuit involving Steele in his current case. Yet, a prosecutor can’t just take testimony from another case and use it because they feel like it. Durham would need to show that Steele is unavailable now to testify on the specific matter, and there’s been no filing to that effect. In short, it’s possible (perhaps even probable) that Steele himself isn’t going to be called in the Sussmann case. But it’s unlikely even past testimony is used without Steele being assured he’s in the clear.

Bringing Steele into the fray would likely highlight the potential involvement of MI6 and other intelligence entities. Appears Mr. Durham got the memo.
#3
I could be wrong but it seems that all Steele did was some creative writing. It was those that passed it along, claiming it was real, that really broke the law.
#4
I think the MI6 alibi is accurate, and as Sundance at CTH has written, the Puppet Show, Obama 3.0, is happy to do Hillary and the Clinton Network underlings who don't have the Fail-Safe notebook protection. Second tier players who worked both sides of the demokrat sewage flow are probably safe.
Lesser Clinton apparatchiks and low-cash donors should be looking at travel, just not to Arkansas...
Christopher Steele told a US justice official before the 2016 election that he was “passionate” about stopping Mr Trump winning, according to a newly released memo.
Republicans held up the comment as proof the former MI6 agent had “ideological motivations” against Mr Trump that throw into question the reliability of his evidence.
#6
I have doubts about Steele's "ideological" motivations. He was a businessman and espionage agent. His motivation was likely
related to future contracts and money making.
#7
I don't care about his motives. Stephen King hates Trump, that wouldn't make a novel about Trump being a monster illegal. It's what was done with the dossier that was actually illegal.
#8
Novels are supposed to be untrue, ruprecht. What Mr. Steele was claiming to sell was verified true facts about Mr. Trump and members of his team that would be useful to his opponents: Hillary Clinton and the Deep State. Mr. Steele engaged in blatant fraud; and while possibly that fraud is not Mr. Durham’s concern as a special prosecutor, that fraud was the basis of everything that followed.
And the Secret Service does investigate the writers of novels, plays, etc. about Democratic presidents like Barack Obama being monsters or being assassinated, while ignoring those written about Republican presidents. I agree with the principle of freedom of speech, but it should be applied equally to both parties.
[NYPOST] Disgraced ex-Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin showed up in court Monday with ex-Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio ...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserved him... ’s former defense lawyer — who immediately floated the same theory that helped get de Blasio off the hook in a "pay-to-play" corruption probe.
Barry Berke appeared to telegraph his planned strategy on behalf of Benjamin, who resigned last week following his indictment in an alleged bribery scheme involving more than $50,000 in illegal donations to his campaign committees.
"This is a very unusual political corruption case because the charges are based solely on political contributions and no personal benefits," Berke said during an appearance in Manhattan federal court.
in 2016, de Blasio was referred for investigation by the state Board of Elections, sparking state and federal probes into fundraising for his 2013 mayoral campaign, his controversial Campaign for One New York nonprofit and the 2014 state Senate elections.
The following year, then-acting Manhattan US Attorney Joon Kim said he’d decided not to file charges against de Blasio in part because of "the particular difficulty in proving criminal intent in corruption schemes where there is no evidence of personal profit."
Also during Tuesday’s court session, Judge Paul Oetken gave Benjamin permission to travel to New Jersey after Berke said that "he has family there" and prosecutors didn’t object.
[FoxNews] BLUF: Having no SALT cap allowed blue states to force red states to subsidize their high blue state taxes
The Supreme Court Monday rejected an appeal from several states challenging Congress's cap on state and local taxes that can be deducted from federal taxable income.
New York led a group including Connecticut, New Jersey, and Maryland in trying to strike down the 2017 limit known as the SALT cap, which limits people to $10,000 of their state and local property and income taxes that can be deducted. The states argued that the cap improperly encroached on states' taxing ability.
"Congress’s taxing authority (as set forth in Article I, Section 8 and the Sixteenth Amendment) is cabined by the structural requirements of federalism, which prevent the federal government from directly interfering with the States’ ability to generate revenue to sustain their operations," the states said in a March court filing. "The long history of federal income taxation demonstrates that Congress and the States equally understood that a deduction for all or nearly all state and local property and income taxes was constitutionally required to preserve state sovereign taxing authority."
The Supreme Court did not provide any explanation for declining to hear the case.
The SALT cap was passed by Congress during former President Donald Trump's administration, and the Biden administration continued to defend it as this case went on.
The current Democrat-controlled House passed a bill in 2021 that would temporarily raise the cap to $80,000 until 2031, when it would go back to $10,000. The Senate has yet to take action on the bill, although a separate plan in the Senate led by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., would cap the tax break by income, making it unlimited for individuals earning about $400,000 and phasing it down above that amount,. Republicans have criticized the bill, saying it would disproportionately benefit ultra-wealthy Americans in blue states.
BLUF:
[PJ] If there is any strategy here at all, it is really to render the vice president herself "under noticed." The more time she spends in Greenville, Miss. and Sunset, La., which Politico names as one of her other stops, the less opportunity she has to remind the watching world that she really isn’t very bright. The more time she spends busying herself with working on "increasing investments in underserved communities," the less time she can devote to inquiring about racist trees, expatiating upon the passage of time, or informing us that prices have gone up.

Historically, most VPs are treated as irrelevant. The fact that they tried to make her relevant, discovered that she was irredeemably terrible and now consider irrelevance to be a better path for her speaks to just how bad Joe is cognitively. Having operatives dressed as Easter Bunnies shepherding him away from children and reporters is farcical like an outtake from Grosse Point Blank or a Pink Panther movie.

[NYPOST] Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ...Republican governor of Florida, stone in the shoe of the Dems and their ilk, maybe one-day president... wants to take feelings out of the equation.
DeSantis on Monday defended his education department’s rejection of math textbooks as part of an effort to eliminate social-emotional learning, a teaching philosophy that helps kids manage their feelings and show empathy for others, from the subject curriculum.
"Math is about getting the right answer. We want kids to learn to think so they get the right answer," DeSantis said at a presser in Jacksonville.
"It’s not about how you feel about the problem or to introduce some of these other things. There’s a right answer and there’s a wrong answer. And we want our students getting the right answer."
DeSantis said objective subjects like math should remain uncluttered by "political" content, such as social-emotional learning and Critical Race Theory
...teaches that skin color is the most important characteristic of any person, which translates to separate but equal with a different bunch in charge. All whites and Asians are born racist and racism permeates every aspect of society, which should be dismantled and the remains turned over to the kind of dipshit who pushes this nonsense... .

To me it seems like Pelosi and McConnell both run their fiefdoms like The Firm. They facilitate corruption through earmarks, assignments and other stuff until they have support from the majority of the caucus. The few outsiders left are isolated and powerless. It is interesting to watch McConnell rotate his minions through votes that support Schumer’s priorities in a way that leaves each one’s voting record with a conservative looking percentage.
