It's that these goons think that by picking what used to be Columbus Day, they are somehow 'sticking it' to him.
Myself, every time I see 'Indigenous People's Day', I remember the old Ripley's Believe It Or Not! books - I devoured them as a kid, especially the reprints from the late 30s and through the 40s, which had articles that went into exquisite and fascinating detail.
One of them had a part showing an amazingly carved slab of stone, with the title, "The Bloodiest Spot In The Western Hemisphere!" It was the sacrificial stone from an Aztec temple, and based on records and data recorded by the conquistadors, it was estimated that a couple hundred thousand men, women, and children had been sacrificed there over a few centuries. And it wasn't the only one.
Indigenous People's Day, indeed.

Cause the stone age people of the Americas were such a fountain of science and technology? How many of the aboriginals walked to their protests yesterday in traditional pre-Columbian clothes made in the same fashion as they were then. Walked because that's how they got around for thousands of years before the Spanish reintroduced horses to the New World, let alone pickups and automobiles.
The indoctrinators who pose as 'teachers' are ignorant of Europe's long series of invasions, wars, and migrations. The difference in 1492 was that the Europeans had achieved a level of technology that allowed them to continue the population shift westward.

In all fairness, outside of sailing ships and metalworking, most native Americans in North America were living a village existence comparable to that of most European peasants at the time of colonization. Favorably comparable, actually; as was noted by English explorers at the time.

I knew a full blood Indian female once. Her and her other Indian friends were constantly in conflict with each other. I finally got tired of it and stopped communicating with them. Another time I drove through Sioux Falls and saw a full blood Indian stumbling around drunk. As soon as the civilized white man landed in America, all the squaws decided it was time to "marry up" and out of the tribes. The only IndianI really liked was an Indian kid who played sand lot football with us as kids. It took four white kids to tackle that Indian kid He was tuff.

"F—k you, you piece of s—t," a man yelled at the mayor, igniting applause from other attendees.
"F—k you, de Blasio. You piece of garbage," screamed another as the mayor strolled down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. "Get out of here, you piece of s—t. You’re garbage."
East Villager Suzan Miller waved an Italian flag as she explained to The Post why she felt the mayor received such a cold reception.
"I love my New York people. I love my blue. I’m tired of the crime. I’m tired of him dividing people," she fumed. "He can go to God—n hell."
The archbishop of New York, however, defended de Blasio.
"All I can say is this: He and I have gotten along well. We talk candidly and disagree on stuff, but he’s been a gentleman. We’ve worked together. Have there been controversies? Sure," Dolan told The Post. "In general, I’m grateful — very grateful — that we got along so well."
The parade participants — numbering a "less than usual" under 10,000, according to the NYPD — weren’t as happy with the mayor.
