[21st Century Wire] One of the great impending disasters of the COVID crisis is that despite the fact that the Coronavirus is rapidly disappearing and its true Infection Fatality Rate is in the exact same range as the seasonal flu, politicians and government health officials seem determined to roll-out the globalist "New Normal" regime.
We're continually told by health officials and the media that the primary reason for requiring face masks is to protect people from the COVID-19 airborne pathogen. There are numerous problems with this government belief system, not least of all because it assumes that every person is equally at risk of illness due to COVID-19, which is false. The vast majority of the general population are not at risk at all, as it mainly only affects one specific demographic: over 70 years old with chronic long-term health conditions, and within that risk group the majority of complications and fatalities have been with nursing/care home residents (none of these people travel on public transport). The other reason why this virus is not a threat to the wider population is because it is seasonal in nature; it has followed the exact same trajectory of decline in every country worldwide, and by now has all but extinguished itself in any significant form. But even beyond all of this, it has already been well-established by numerous scientific experts that masks are incapable of protecting people against this or any other respiratory virus.
This means that wearing them is more a psychological reinforcement rather than any real medical prophylactic.
Even America's health tsar, Anthony Fauci, admitted as much in a 60 Minutes interview in March, where he stated, "There's no reason to be walking around with a mask."
And despite all of that, the New Normal agenda is still being pushed through.
hope the above link works or could 1 of the mods please fix it?
BLUF even a surgical mask can cut 94% of emissions of particles even smaller than the coronavirus.
Granted, if I was working in an ICU I would insist on an M60 PAPR and the equivalent of MOPP4 -per my CERF-P training on Ebola virus in 2014.
I live and work in an area that unfortunately has made national news because of the rise in Covid 19 positivity. When my gym opened in a limited fashion with only 27 people allowed at a time, I was still the only person wearing a mask. I will do it quietly to be a good example. I am not a virtue strutter! I want our economy to stay open. Second and third order consequences of a 21-year-old becoming Covid 19 positive include their father not being able to start chemotherapy (actual case). It concerns me every time I see the CCP go Batsh-t crazy every time a pocket of Covid 19 pops up in China. In my estimation they know more about what this virus can actually do than we do at this time. So if the slight inconvenience of wearing a mask allows my patients, military unit, city, state and country to stay healthy economically and medically; I will be a doggone Patriot and wear a damn mask. MURICA!

If half the audience at Trump's Tulsa rally aren't dead in three weeks (that won't happen) the media will be screeching about the three that died in car wrecks on the way home. This rally is a calculated move to destroy St. Fauxiism. It will succeed.

Titus Thud4344‘s link is now clickable in his comment. Dr. Titus dear, this is one of those learning curve thingies that I was really excited to climb.
When you have a link you want to be clickable.
1) copy the URL
2) type a word or phrase describing the link, eg. the headline of the article: Can Masks Capture Coronavirus Particles?. I left the URL as you typed it in this case.
3) highlight your bit of text
4) looking below the comment text box at the row of letters and icons, click on the little globe sitting on two chain links
5) in the little box that pops up asking you to Enter URL for the link, delete the place-holding http:// , then paste in your copied URL.
6) click OK.
Easy peasy!
[FOXNEWS] Baltimore’s disgraced former mayor Catherine Pugh, who was embroiled in a scandal involving her "Healthy Holly" children's books, is expected to plead guilty to perjury Friday, the state prosecutor said.
A plea hearing on the state misdemeanor charge is scheduled Friday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.
Pugh already has been sentenced to three years in federal prison over the self-dealing scandal, which involved children’s books touting exercise and nutrition that netted the now-70-year-old Democrat hundreds of thousands of dollars. She had pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy and tax evasion charges last year and is scheduled to report to federal prison later this month.

Perjury is such an awful word. Donks must not do it since none of them ever get convicted of such a dastardly thing.
Pugh didn't lie, she was just being economical with the truth. She had alternative facts. She suffers truth-fiction-impairment-syndrome--she tends to blur the line of separation between the two.
[NYDAILYNEWS] A statue of Thomas Jefferson should be removed from the Student City Council chambers, say Speaker Corey Johnson and the leaders of the Council’s Black, Latino and Asian Caucus.
"The statue of Thomas Jefferson in the Student City Council Chambers is inappropriate and serves as a constant reminder of the injustices that have plagued communities of color since the inception of our country. It must be removed," Johnson, Councilwoman Adrienne Adams and Councilman I. Daneek Miller wrote Mayor de Blasio on Thursday.
"Jefferson is America’s most noted slaveholder, a man who owned more than 600 Black women and men and a scholar who maintained that Blacks were inferior to whites," the letter continued. "The Student City Council Chambers is a place where we vote on bills to improve the lives of all New Yorkers and build a more fair and just city. It is not a suitable place for a statue of Thomas Jefferson. Keeping it in City Hall sends a terrible message to the people who are counting on us to work towards a more equitable New York City."
Adams and Miller are Queens Dems who co-chair the Black, Latino and Asian Caucus. Caucus members Inez Barron and Deborah Rose also signed the letter.

The Founders weren't perfect. They were a product of their times. To judge someone's actions by the standards of today is merely claiming that you are somehow morally superior.

Thomas Jefferson statue should be removed from NYC Council chambers, lawmakers say
You are no better than the Taliban with their blowing up of monuments and antiquities. Quit showing your stupidity. Surely, NYC has more pressing issues that are being ignored.

Come, come people. Know your history. NYC was a hotbed of Tory Crown Loyalists. The only reason NY finally ratified the Constitution was to avoid being frozen out of the local economy of the new country.
[NYPOST] First Lady Chirlane McCray will put statues and structures honoring historic figures tainted by slavery — including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson — under the microscope as part of a new "Commission on Racial Justice and Reconciliation," Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio ...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserve him... announced Friday.
Hizzoner’s move comes a day after five city politicians — including Speaker Corey Johnson — sent a letter requesting the statue of Thomas Jefferson be removed from the City Council’s chamber, as leaders across the city and nation struggle to respond to weeks of protests over racism that followed the death of George Floyd.
"This is exactly the kind of thing that this new commissions needs to examine," de Blasio told news hounds during his morning briefing, announcing his wife’s latest assignment. "I think it is the time to evaluate the entire look and feel of this city and a commission that’s focused on justice and reconciliation can really think about a bigger approach."
He added: "I’m going to charge them with that task."
De Blasio said that would include examining City Hall’s statue of George Washington and the name of the mayoral residence, Gracie Mansion, which was built and owned by a slave owner, Archibald Gracie.

Commission on Racial Justice and Reconciliation
The Workers World Party released a statement claiming that it should be their right to tear the monuments down. (Basically, a Communist group.)
I suppose there could be is a list of left-wing symbols, monuments, symbols and icons to tear down if people want to waste their time with such nonsense.
Having said that, if I were into such things, I would propose beginning with the MSM monuments the Dems have built to insure their .longevity. Next, the social media giants. Then, remove anyone who has been in Congress for more than, say a dozen years.
Whew! Back to reality. It was fun there for a moment or two.

More likely she will end up on the trash heap of history. There is an ever-so-slight chance she'll gain some notoriety from perjury/lying convictions.

Remember when the 'Tide Pod Challenge' was the biggest thing we had to worry about? There are eight houses on my street. Four houses/families have police, state police or fire department members in those households. I have lots of ammo, and will back them up. Screw with my neighbors, screw with me. No one will like me for it, and I don't care.

I presumed that's what DV meant, but I was shooting for a little levity. I apparently missed. Again. But thank you for the handsome type face comment. I shall endeavor to be regular, and not too bold.
