"See, Doc," said a lass of Seattle,
"It's makin' my boyfriend skedaddle.
He sez, 'Though I love 'em,
They smells when I rub 'em,
And when we get dancin', they rattle!'
And he sez they're all kinda funny colors, like. So, can ya help me?"
"Frankly, I'd take them off immediately... but you say they're your granny's? That certainly complicates things..."

"Just look at the way that they dangle!
Last night, one got caught in the mangle...
It broke the machine!
My patootie turned green,
And we two had a terrible wrangle."

"It seems there's a lot to untangle
Regarding this troubled triangle,
This resonant ring,
So I think... here's the thing...
See a shrink for your Bakelite bangles!"
[ToloNews] Over 40 ANDSF members were killed and dozens more maimed as a result of recent attacks by the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... in Zabul, Kapisa and Baghlan provinces in the past two days, according to local officials.
According to Kapisa police headquarters, four members of the local police and public uprising forces were killed in a Taliban attack in Nijrab district on Friday evening.
But MPs from Kapisa have said that ten local police personnel were killed in the attack.
Kapisa politicians also said that Ilyas, a former mujahideen leader, was killed in the attack by the Taliban in Nejrab. But the government has rejected these figures.
"Neither the crisis response unit nor anyone else came to our aid," said Sayed Mohammad, a member of the local police in Kapisa.
"Our youth are being killed, but no organ is there to rescue them to treat their wounds," said Mohammad Qaseem, a relative of one of the victims in Kapisa.
"It was dark at night and there was heavy rain, but the security forces arrived to the scene very soon, three Taliban fighters were killed in the battle, four members of the local police force were martyred and one other was maimed," said Shaqayeq Shoresh, a front man for Kapisa police.
Meanwhile, ...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck slipped the habañero into the roasted jalapeño... local officials in the northern province of Baghlan said that at least two local police were killed by the Taliban on Friday night after the turbans attacked their checkpoint.
This comes a day after at least 17 members of the Afghan army and the Afghan police were killed in an assault on a checkpoint that involved coppers on the inside working with the attackers, according to the Ministry of Defense (Local officials claimed 20-25 were killed).
"Those officers who remained alive fought bravely till the morning. Unfortunately, no reinforcements were sent to them, neither by the army, police nor Zabul leadership," said Mohammad Omari, member of the Zabul provincial council.
"The Taliban have suffered casualties in Kunduz, Baghlan, Faryab, Jawzjan and Balkh provinces," said Fawad Aman, deputy front man to the Ministry of Defense.
Afghan government leaders and the US embassy in Kabul and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis.... 's representative in Afghanistan condemned the attack.
"We strongly condemn Friday’s attack in Zabul & offer our condolences to the brave ANDSF and their families. Afghan cops honor Afghanistan by their dedication and service. In the midst of a global pandemic and on Nowruz, attacks like these are obscene. Time for peace is now," the US embassy in Kabul tweeted.
"I condemn the savage Taliban attack on the Afghan cops in Zabul. What kind of people can order and do this to fellow Afghans on the day of Nowruz, in the midst of a global pandemic and after professing commitment to peace? Shameful," tweeted Nicolas Kay, NATO Senior Civilian Representative to Afghanistan.

Always bad blood between Turks and Greece. Turks have always been bad neighbors.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Iraqi Armed Forces carried out a new operation in northern Iraq this week that targeted the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... ’s (ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) hideouts in the Hamrin Mountains.
According to the official media wing of the Iraqi security forces, their troops managed to kill dozens of Islamic State terrorists, while also destroying a number of tunnels and hideouts.
The Iraqi security forces said the operation was carried out in cooperation with the Iraqi Air Force, who conducted several strikes on the Islamic State’s positions in the Hamrin Mountains.
In their statement, the Iraqi security forces confirmed the successful operations in the Kanoukh area and Talat al-Hamrin, pointing out that as many as 25 bad boyz were potted, while also destroying nine tunnels and a training camp.
Despite the Islamic State’s defeat on the battlefield, the terrorist group has maintained several sleeper cells across the country.
ISIS has relied on these sleeper cells to carry out sporadic terrorist attacks against both the civilian population and military.

This region should have been cleared long ago.
Isn’t that territory that used to be patrolled by the Peshmerga, who were driven out by the Iraqi army last year? But the Iraqi army plus Shiite paramilitaries are not nearly as capable as the Kurd units, so the situation has festered.
Hossein Asadollahi, a senior commander of #Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (#IRGC), has died of “chemical injuries” from the war with Iraq in the 1980s, state media says. But some Iranian exile run media outlets report he died of coronavirus.https://t.co/iDDrzBxAV6
[ALMASDARNEWS] A large number of reinforcements from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces have arrived in the Idlib Governorate over the last 72 hours.
According to a source from the Syrian military, the army sent several units of reinforcements from the Hama and Latakia governorates to the Idlib front, where they will await orders to resume their Jabal al-Zawiya and Ariha offensives.
A source earlier in the week told al-Masdar that the Syrian Army is preparing to kickoff a new attack that will concentrate on the Jisr al-Shughour front.
The source specified the Syrian Army will be pushing north from the Jabal al-Zawiya region towards the Jisr al-Shughour District in the western countryside of the Idlib Governorate.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish military cleared the strategic M-4 Highway (Aleppo-Latakia Highway) this week after the turbans blocked the roadway to prevent the Russian-Ottoman Turkish patrols.
Last Sunday, as many as 60 protesters blocked the M-4 Highway after the Ottoman Turkish and Russian armed forces attempted to conduct their first joint patrol.
The following day, the murderous Moslem forces blocked the highway with earth mounds, which forced the Ottoman Turkish and Russian armed forces to temporarily suspend their patrols.
On Thursday, the Ottoman Turkish military removed these mounds (video below) in order to resume their patrols with their Russian partners.
