US-led coalition destroys tunnel for ISIS in Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) An official source in Anbar Province informed, on Sunday, that the US-led international coalition warplanes carried out air strikes on an area in Anbar and destroyed a tunnel belonging to the Islamic State group (ISIS) in Maheya Valley in the province.

The source said in a statement that the warplanes of the international coalition conducted, at Saturday’s evening, an air strike on Maheya Valley, west of Kabisa and south of Heet.

The source, who asked to be anonymous, added that the air strike resulted in the damage of a tunnel used by the Islamic State members as a hideout.

It is noteworthy that the security forces, backed by the international coalition and Iraqi aviation, are frequently destroying headquarters belonging to the Islamic State in the areas that were held by them, inflicting heavy human and material damage on the group.

Ramming Attack In Binyamin By Three Terrorists, Two Soldiers Wounded
[Jpost] One IDF soldier was badly injured and a second soldier was lightly injured.

Two IDF soldiers were maimed in a ramming attack in Binyamin in the West Bank late Sunday night at Kefar Neama, Channel 12 reported on Monday morning.

One IDF soldier was badly injured and a second soldier was lightly injured.

The attack was committed by three terrorists. Two holy warriors were were rubbed out by IDF forces, and the third was tossed in the calaboose
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
Israeli security forces are investigating the incident.

The alleged ramming attack took place after a tense night in which IDF forces allegedly shelled the Quneitra district in Syria and fired tear gas at civilian houses in the Gazoo neighborhood of Shuja'iyya, as reported by Syrian and Paleostinian media sources.

The reports have not been confirmed by the IDF Spokesperson.
So that’s all we know about Israel attacking Iranian units in Syria as of the midnight rollover. Eventually more will no doubt be revealed, but at this point it doesn’t look like the next big war has started.
Update from An Nahar at 5:15 p.m. ET:
"Assailants ran over a number of soldiers who had stopped at the side of the road on their way out of the village" of Kafr Nama, northwest of Ramallah, a military statement said.

"An (army) officer was severely injured and a border police soldier was lightly injured as a result," the army said.

Police front man Micky Rosenfeld said that the policeman injured in the pre-dawn attack had already been released from hospital.

The Paleostinian health ministry named the two men killed as Amir Mahmoud Darraj and Yussef Anqawi, both 20.

Kafr Nama's mayor said that troops were leaving the village on foot after a raid to arrest a Paleostinian suspect there when the incident occurred.

Israel's army said its troops had tossed in the slammer

11 alleged Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, operatives in the Ramallah area overnight.

It added that "an initial inquiry suggests that earlier in the evening, the assailants of the car-ramming attack also hurled Molotov cocktails at a crossing".

"Additional Molotov cocktails were later found in the vehicle that had been used in the terror attack," the army statement said.

Israel strikes Hamas post in response to Gaza border riot
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian media says Israeli drone targeted terror group’s observation post in northern Strip, in first apparent case of retaliation against nighttime ’confusion’ units.

An Israeli military drone bombed a Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, position in the northern Gazoo Strip on Sunday night in response to a violent riot along the border nearby, according to Paleostinian media.

While it was Israel’s third retaliatory Arclight airstrike against the terror group in the past two days, it appeared to be the military’s first time conducting such an attack in response to riots along the security fence itself, rather than to cross-border violence directed toward Israeli civilian communities.

"An Israel Defense Forces aircraft attacked a Hamas post in response to the throwing of bombs across the security fence in the northern Gazoo Strip," the army said.

On Sunday evening, members of a so-called "confusion unit" held a violent demonstration along the security fence in the northern Gazoo Strip, east of Beit Hanoun, burning tires and setting off many bombs near the border.

According to the Hamas-run Gazoo health ministry, three people were maimed by Israeli troops during the riot.

Earlier in the evening, Israeli troops caught two unarmed Paleostinian who crossed into Israeli territory from the northern Gazoo Strip, the army said. The men were detained shortly after breaching the security fence, and were not in possession of weapons, according to the military.

After halting their activities for several months, the Paleostinian "confusion units" recently returned to the Gazoo border, holding riots at different locations along the security fence each night in an effort to maintain pressure on Israel by tormenting the civilians living nearby and the troops serving on the border.

Israeli forces attack Syrian Army troops in Al-Quneitra
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a number of tank shells towards the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses inside rural al-Quneitra, a source told al-Masdar News from southwest Syria.

According to the military source, the Israeli Defense Forces fired the tank shells towards a Syrian Army garrison near the town of Hader in al-Quneitra.

The source added that the situation in southwestern Syria could escalate in the coming hours should the Syrian Arab Army choose to respond to the attack from the Israeli Defense Forces.
The question is whether this time Assad is feeling luckier than he did the last many times.
In the past, when the Syrian Arab Army and their allies have responded, the Israeli military would come back with a series of powerful Arclight airstrikes across western and eastern Damascus.

This is the first attack launched by the Israeli Defense Forces since they shelled the Syrian Arab Army’s positions across the al-Quneitra Governorate on February 11th.

Qaeda-Linked Syria Group Kills 21 Regime Forces
[AnNahar] A Syrian jihadist group linked to al-Qaeda killed 21 regime and allied forces Sunday near Idlib province, in one of the deadliest breaches of a six-month-old truce deal, a monitor said.

"At dawn, 21 fighters from the regime forces or allied militia were killed in an attack by Ansar al-Tawhid jihadists," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

"Five jihadists were also killed," Rami Abdel Rahman, the director of the Britannia-based monitoring group, said.

Ansar al-Tawhid has ties to the larger Hurras al-Deen group, which is also active in the area. Both are considered semi-officials franchises of al-Qaeda in Syria.

The area of Idlib and small parts of the adjacent provinces of Hama and Aleppo are mostly controlled by the rival Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
organization.

HTS is led by fighters who formerly belonged to al-Qaeda's ex-affiliate in Syria.

Sunday's deadly attack was carried out against regime positions in the village of Masasna, in the north of Hama province, the Observatory said.

"It was one of the highest casualty figures among regime ranks since the Putin-Erdogan deal," Abdel Rahman said. He was referring to an agreement reached in the Russian resort of Sochi between Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
and his Ottoman Turkish counterpart Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey...
Under the September 17 deal, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
was supposed to exert its influence over anti-regime groups in the Idlib region to get them to pull back their fighters and heavy weapons from a demilitariZed zone.

The agreement was meant to stave off a planned offensive by the regime and its Russian backers that aid groups feared could spark the eight-year-old Syrian conflict's worst humanitarian crisis yet.

The government assault on the last major bastion of forces opposed to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Leveler of Latakia...
's rule has indeed been held off but the deal's provisions have not been implemented and the de facto truce looks shakier than ever.

Since the Sochi agreement, HTS has consolidated its grip on the Idlib province and Turkey appears to be in no position to deliver on its commitment.

Breaches of the demilitarized zone have spiked in recent days. Another 20 regime and allied forces were killed in three days of festivities about a week ago.

About the last civilians who fled Syria’s Baghouz
Video at link.
[Rudaw] As the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) begin their final push into the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) holdout in Baghouz, eastern Syria, Rudaw spoke to the last civilians and suspected fighters to emerge from the besieged village.

Among the last people to surrender ahead of the SDF’s advance is a suspected ISIS emir from Bosnia. He refuses to talk, holding up a hand and shaking his head at the camera.
Betcha his name and particulars are in the data base constructed from ISIS employment files previously liberated elsewhere, so now we have photo, fingerprints, retinal scans, and DNA as well. Victory contains so many kinds of sweetness.
Next to him are ISIS murderous Moslems’ wives. They are being screened for affiliation, intelligence, and weapons.

Many are found hiding electronic devices and papers. Others have concealed firearms. None of them appear to be natives of this area. The bulk of them are foreigners, speaking various languages.

As the SDF advanced in recent days, they uncovered potential evidence of mass executions. The victims are feared to be Yezidi slaves held captive for the last four years.

"ISIS kidnapped a lot of Yezidi women and kiddies," SDF spokesperson Lilwa Abdulla told Rudaw.

"During our advances, we liberated 200 children and women. In the meantime, we discovered a large number of Yezidi women’s bodies. We do not have a specific number of Yezidis here. Dozens were seen under ISIS here," she added.

Although a large number of civilians and ISIS members have fled, hundreds have chosen to make a last stand against advancing Kurdish forces.

SDF captures 6 foreign fighters during al-Baghouz push
[Rudaw] Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to capture foreign ISIS fighters in their last holdout east of the Euphrates in al-Baghhouz.

The SDF announced six imported muscle were captured alive on Saturday.

"Along with heavy fighting by our units within the Syrian Democratic Forces against ISIS terrorists, security operations are constantly being carried out in order to ensure safety in the areas liberated," the SDF said in a statement.

They included:

- Dmitry Simonov (Abu Isa al-Rusi), Russia

- Mahmoud Se’id Ateb (Abu Mushab al-Almani), Germany

- Nicholas Joseph Lee (Abu Yousuf al-Amriki), Latin America

- Emrah Rifat Ozanoglu (Abu Fatima al-Turki), The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
- Abrar Mohammad (Abu Zubair al-Sweidi), Sweden

- Hisham al-Arabi (Abu Maryam al-Maghribi), Morocco

The murderous Moslems face coalition air strikes and an SDF ground attack in al-Baghouz. SDF leaders said on Saturday: "We expect it to be over soon."

The SDF has called on imported muscle to be tried in their home countries, citing an inability to process thousands of ISIS murderous Moslems through their own judicial systems.

Some countries have complained that there is a lack of usable evidence to prosecute alleged ISIS fighters. SDF has transferred custody of some Iraqi suspects to the Iraqi Army, and released some Syrian suspects to local tribal elders on Saturday.
Al Ahram adds:
Nearly 300 Syrians suspected of belonging to the Islamic State

jihadist group have been freed because they have "no blood on their hands", Kurdish authorities who were holding them said.

Their release was announced late Saturday by the semi-autonomous Kurdish administration of northern Syria, which said in a statement that 283 Syrians had been set free.

Tribal chiefs and other local officials had lobbied for their release.

The statement said they were men who "have no Syrian blood on their hands", suggesting that they did not take part in any fighting.

"They had lost their way... violated the traditions of the Syrian society and the law, and some of them had been deceived... but they remain our Syrian children," it said.

Releasing them is a gesture of "cooperation, fraternity and clemency," said the statement posted on the website of the US-backed, Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The prisoners were released in several areas of northern Syria held by Kurds, including the city of Raqa, which was the de facto Syrian capital of the IS "caliphate", the statement added.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based war monitor, said it was not the first release of IS-linked prisoners by Kurdish authorities, but the number was particularly large this time.
