[ToloNews] The US Forces said the Farah and Nimroz air strikes were the first in western Afghanistan as part of their counter-revenue campaign regarding the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
The US Forces in Afghanistan on Sunday released video footage that shows Taliban drug factories being bombed in Farah and Nimroz provinces last week.
According to a US Forces statement, the Arclight airstrikes were carried out last week in cooperation with the Afghan Air Force (AAF).
The US Forces said in the statement 11 Taliban narcotics production facilities in Farah and Nimroz provinces were targeted, as US Forces and the Afghan National Defense and Security forces expand counter-revenue efforts against the Taliban beyond Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... and southern Afghanistan.
The precision airstrikes, conducted by US F-16s, A-10s and MQ-9s, were the first in western Afghanistan in support of the counter-revenue campaign designed to degrade the Taliban’s primary means of funding its operations ‐ narcotic production, read the statement.
"The Taliban will have no safe havens. We will continue to exploit their networks and decimate their ability to develop narcotics," said Maj. Gen. James Hecker, commander, 9th Air and Space Expeditionary Task Force-Afghanistan.
"They have become a criminal organization that profits from selling drugs and using those funds to conduct operations that maim and kill Afghans. By cutting off the Taliban’s economic lifelines, we also reduce their ability to continue these terrorist activities," he added.
Afghan interior ministry meanwhile said these airstrikes are aimed at eradicating income sources for holy warriors.
"In recent months all income sources of the Afghan people’s enemies have been under Afghan forces attacks from air and land," interior ministry’s deputy front man Nusrat Rahimi said.
A number of senators meanwhile said efforts should be increased to destroy these drug factories and address the drug addiction problem in the country.
"Bombing bully boyz sources of income are the biggest and most significant ones. Because such bombings will make them weak in terms of finances and that will decrease their fighting ability," senator Haji Abdul Rahim said.
According to the US Forces, the Taliban counter-revenue campaign, which began in November 2017, has continued without pause through the winter, impacting narcotics processing facilities that generate an estimated $200 million USD in revenue annually for the Taliban.
Overall, since November 2017, the campaign has conducted 75 strikes against narcotics production facilities in Afghanistan and continues to remove revenue from the Taliban criminal network. The counter-revenue campaign continues to demonstrate the US and ANDSF’s collective resolve to fight terrorism and bring stability and peace to Afghanistan, the US Forces’ statement read.
"We will continue to help the Afghan cops to send a clear message to the Taliban: they will not win on the battlefield," Hecker said.
"The only way they can have a peaceful solution is to sit down and reconcile with the National Unity Government."

So they bomb the opium processing operation.
Raw opium gets blown all over.
Next day the guys are back; sweep the opium up, along with dust, dirt and whatever, and put it in a bag.

Security forces killed a number of takfiris when air units destroyed two terrorist hideouts in north Sinai, and killed another who was found to be in possession of large sums of money and illegal narcotics, a statement by the army front man read.
In central Sinai, police managed to kill three "extremely dangerous" takfiris and arrest two others, the statement added.

Over the past few days, army engineers have safely detonated 30 discovered IEDs that had been planted by takfiris to target security forces.
The raids also led to the discovery and destruction of 20 marijuana and poppy farms used for drug production in central Sinai, as well as a number of underground border tunnels in North Sinai's Rafah city.
Border security forces organized more than 584 patrols on highways and desert roads in past few days, the statement added.
The Egyptian armed forces continue to distribute food supplies to the people of North and central Sinai.
Meanwhile, ...back at the shootout, Butch shot Ike through the elbow. Take that, Ike! he yelled...... in Egypt's far south, border security forces halted two members of the banned Moslem Brüderbund group as they tried to leave the country via its southern border.
Sunday's statement is the 18th communiqué issued by the Egyptian armed forces since the launch of Operation Sinai 2018 in early February.

"The rescued hostages are currently receiving medical attention," he said in a statement, adding that they would be "profiled after the medical screening".
The rescues took place during a raid on a Boko Haram hideout in the community of Yerimari Kura on Saturday. Soldiers killed three fighters during the operation and captured five others suspected of belonging to the group, Nwachuku said.
His statement did not specify when the women and kiddies had been kidnapped.
Al Jazeera's Ahmed Idris, reporting from Abuja, capital of Nigeria, said the number of people Boko Haram had kidnapped in Yerimari Kura "demonstrated the group's resilience", despite losing significant swaths of territory to the Nigerian army in recent years.

Update from T4 airbase just attacked by missiles/strikes in East #Homs
1. Over 20 missiles landed in and around the Airbase
2. 8 were reportedly intercepted by Syrian air defenses
3. Sirens were sounded 5 minutes before the attack, which the base was expecting and on full alert
4. Maintenance section of the airbase was hit and damaged
5. A Number of Drones in the base were targeted and destroyed
6. Most of the fallen/casualties have been either from the #SAA or Iranian backed auxiliary groups also present at the base
7. Whist initially thinking the Strikes were U.S led, it seems more likely that the IDF was the main perpetrator, attacked the area before & U.S immediately denied it.
8. If its a Israeli attack, which seems more convincing now, then its a clear retaliation for the downing of an Israeli F-16 months ago.
9. And more importantly, this airbase was the source of the suspected Iranian drone which came near #Israel- #Syria border & started process of maneuvering which led to Israeli Jet being downed.
10. What better time for #Israel to attack #Syria than when the whole world is waiting for #Trump response to suspected CW'S attack and on the same day that JAI leaves #Douma
11. Clarification that U.S is not conducting strikes on #SAA in #Syria at the moment, they wouldn't have cause to deny it at all, they said they would take action, so case for #Israel strikes on T4 seems far more convincing
12. Unconfirmed Video purportedly shows the moment #SAA air-defense launched rocket at the missiles targeting T4 airbase

It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful... , the last remaining rebel group in Eastern Ghouta, has agreed to leave its holdout in Douma for an opposition-held area in northern Syria, according to opposition negotiators and the Russian foreign ministry.
The deal came a day after a chemical attack killed scores of people and affected hundreds of other Douma residents. The attack prompted global outrage but was dismissed as "fabrication" by the Syrian government, whose forces on Friday launched an offensive against the rebels under the cover of air raids.
The agreement, which was reached between Jaish al-Islam and Russia on Sunday, includes a ceasefire and the evacuation of fighters and civilians from the area.
"According to people who helped negotiate this agreement, Jaish al-Islam has agreed with the Russian forces to begin evacuating with their families, as well as anyone else who wants to leave," Al Jazeera's Natasha Ghoneim, reporting from Amman, said.
Under the agreement, Russian military police will move into Douma to keep Syrian forces out, added Ghoneim.
The Russian army also said on Sunday it had struck a deal with Jaish al-Islam to withdraw about 8,000 of its fighters and some 40,000 of their relatives.

[AnNahar] Israeli spy drones overflew the Akkar and Baalbek-Hermel provinces for a third consecutive day on Sunday, sparking concerns among residents, the National News Agency said.
"For three days now, Israeli reconnaissance drones have been flying round-the-clock at medium altitude over the overlapping mountainous regions between the Akkar and Baalbek-Hermel provinces," NNA said.
"The ceaseless hovering sounds are irritating the residents of the mountainous villages and towns," the agency added.
Defense Minister Yaacoub Sarraf, who hails from Akkar, meanwhile strongly condemned what he called "Israel's blatant insolence represented in its continuous violation of all international conventions."
[FOX] The Iranian government on Saturday said hackers attacked networks in multiple countries-- including data centers in Iran-- where they left the image of an American flag along with a warning "Don’t mess with our elections."
IRNA, Iran’s official news agency, said the attack apparently affected 200,000 router switches across the world, including 3,500 in Iran, Reuters reported.
Iran’s IT Minister Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi shared a photograph on Twitter showing an infected computer’s screen with the U.S. flag and the hackers’ warning.
He said on social media that the state’s computer emergency response unit had shown "weaknesses in providing information to (affected) companies" following the hack that was first noticed on Friday in Iran.
