#1  I would like to thank all the people, BrerRabbit, for his concern about my well being. I'm fine but tired. I seem to have reached a temporary perfect storm, upgrading clients XP computers, converting clients to a new Medical Billing form (smells like ObamaCare) and income taxes.

When I've had the DGS ready to go the RD-S&T-P has missed publication and other times when it has gone to press I've missed my deadline. I'm sure Fred also has his hands full. We'll get it together.

BrerRabbit, I hope today's offering will be "uplifting and affirming" for you. Take care of that hand.

Afghanistan
NDS Arrests 262 Insurgents Plotting to Sabotage Elections
[Tolo News] The National Directorate of Security (NDS) jugged
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
262 faceless myrmidons and prevented major chaos in the country, a front man to the Afghan intelligence office, Lotfullah Mashal said on Thursday.

The conspiracies were formulated in a joint cooperation among the Haqqani Network, Jundullah, and Afghan and Pak Taliban.

The April 5 presidential and provincial councils elections were held despite the threats and intimidations by the krazed killer groups. The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) worked tirelessly to provide better security to the voting process. The NDS arrested the faceless myrmidons over the last two months.

"We arrested 262 people from 23 provinces who intended to conduct kabooms, suicide kabooms, armed attacks and roadside kabooms around the polling centers," NDS front man Loftullah Mashal said. "We also confiscated 65 vehicles, rocket launchers, ammonium nitrate, mortars and chemicals all of which are used in kabooms."

Pak religious Madrasas were closed and many faceless myrmidons intended to come in Afghanistan to sabotage the elections, but the ANSF reacted effectively to the plots.

The arrests were conducted by the NDS, the Afghan National Army and the Afghan National Police.

5 Killed as Houthis Press 'Advance' on Yemen Capital
[An Nahar] Iranian catspaws believed to be seeking to advance on Yemen's capital have attacked an army post in a neighboring city, killing three soldiers and losing two of their own, tribal sources said Thursday.

The Zaidi rebels, also known as Ansarullah or Huthis, carried out the attack in Amran, 50 kilometers (31 miles) north of Sanaa, late on Wednesday, tribal sources said.

Military sources have said their objective was to seize Amran and, from there, lay siege to the capital.

The Huthis have fought the government for years, complaining of marginalization under former president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
, who was ousted in 2012 following a year of protests.

Saleh's successor, President Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi, and party leaders have agreed to transform Yemen into a six-region federation as part of a political transition.

The rebels, who complain that would divide Yemen into rich and poor regions, have been trying to enlarge their zone of influence by pushing out from their mountain strongholds in the far north to areas closer to the capital.

Amran has been the scene of months of sporadic fighting and remained tense Thursday, an Agence La Belle France Presse correspondent reported.

Both sides have dug trenches in the city and its environs as army tanks deployed across the area.

In early February, they seized parts of Amran province in fighting with local tribes that killed more than 150 people.

Europe
Swedish police attacked by 50 mooslim youth.
[Jihad Watch] Extremist imams, patrolling Muslim father groups and homemade sharia courts can operate safely in Europe's Muslim-dominated areas, while non-Islamic authorities are regularly attacked. I am glad to see that the Swedish police won this one, though I fear that they will not be able to control the streets in just a few years.

On Sunday evening in Skäggetorp a riot broke out involving some 50 youths attacking the police with stones and fireworks.

It all began with an assault at 18 pm, when a man was ambushed by several masked attackers.

A police officer was injured when he was hit on the leg by a stone. Another police officer went to the hospital with a hand injury. Besides throwing stones and firecrackers, the "youth" built road blocks with road signs.

At midnight, the police managed to encircle about 30 youths from the mob, and got them down on the ground and then arrested them. 50 of people who attended the attack have been identified, most of whom were born in the 90s and are affiliated with gangs.
You continue to let them in. What do you expect ?

Israel Demands Dismissal Of 'Anti-Semitic' Senior Un Official
[Ynet] Israel's UN envoy Ron Prosor asks the ephemeral Ban Ki-moon
... of whom it can be said to his credit that he is not Kofi Annan...
to suspend Jordanian-born UN official for report in which she said Israel's polices reminiscent of 'worst crimes of the last century'

Israel has requested the UN dismiss Rima Khalaf, currently serving as the UN's under-secretary-general, for anti-Semitic statements she made in an official report.

"The accusation that Israel is conducting ethnic cleansing is the essence of modern anti-Semitism and it is unforgivable," Israel's UN Ambassador Ron Prosor wrote to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon Wednesday, in wake of a report penned by Khalaf, a Jordanian national.

"We were hoping that dark opinions like the ones Khalaf expressed had vanished from the world," Prosor wrote in a letter to Ban. "Anti-Israeli incitement sounded under UN sponsorship, while using its resources, is unfathomable," Prosor wrote.

Khalaf, had recently published an official UN report in which she claimed: "Paleostine is still under Israeli occupation which is based on settlement-building and substitution," the latter being a veiled euphemism for ethnic cleansing vis a vis the substitution of one population for another.

The report continued to say that "By pushing for an exclusive Jewish State, Israel propagates the concept of religious or ethnic purity of states, a concept that inflicted on humanity the worst crimes of the last century."

Throughout it's 200 pages, Khalaf accused Israel for being the main cause for the internal tear in the Arab world and its problems in the fields of culture, education and environment and development.

"Israel's violation is not limited to direct occupation of Arab land. Israel makes repeated attacks on neighboring countries... These policies are a threat to the security of Arab citizens across the region... (which) cannot become free without the liberation of those Arab territories currently under Israeli occupation."

Israel claims that the report compares it with Nazi Germany, because the report claims: "Israel's adamancy that it is a Jewish State, which violates the rights of both the Moslem and Christian indigenous populations and revives the concept of state ethnic and religious purity, which caused egregious human suffering during the twentieth century."

Khalaf serves as Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary for the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA. The body is located in Beirut and includes 17 countries and consults the UN's Economic and Social Council regarding development in the Arab world.

Army Clashes with Bab al-Tabbaneh Gunmen, Raids Arms Depot in Tripoli
[An Nahar] The army clashed with a number of gunnies on Wednesday evening as it carried out raids in the Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh, after arresting three people and raiding an arms and explosives depot during the day.

"Clashes erupted between the army and gunnies in Bab al-Tabbaneh amid raids in Khan al-Askar," OTV reported.

Several other TV networks said gunfire was heard in the area as al-Jadeed said "fighting broke out between the army and gunnies in Syria Street and behind al-Rashwani Mosque in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh."

Earlier on Wednesday, the army announced the arrest of a number of suspects in Tripoli linked to the various security incidents that have taken place in the northern city.

It said in a statement that it raided a weapons storehouse in the city, arresting its owner S.Z.

Army units confiscated various weapons, ammunition, and rockets at the storehouse, as well as material used to manufacture explosives as part of the ongoing security plan being implemented in the city.

In addition, the army had jugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
a suspect, R.A., in the al-Baraniyeh area in the Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhood in the northern city.

He is held on charges of opening fire at an army patrol.

Troops also arrested A.A. and A.M. in Tripoli's al-Qobbeh neighborhood on charges of carrying out sectarian attacks, said the Army communique.

They also seized a number of ammunition at A.M.'s residence.

The army kicked off its security plan in Tripoli last week.

It is aimed at putting an end to the rounds of festivities between the rival impoverished neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen.

Tensions between the two districts go back decades but have been exacerbated by the war in Syria, where Alawite Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Lord of the Baath...
faces Sunni rebels seeking to topple him.

Successive rounds of violence between the neighborhoods have killed dozens of people and brought parts of the city to a standstill.

The implementation of the security plan was faced with protests and attacks on Tuesday where angry men tossed several hand grenades in al-Baraniyeh as residents shortly blocked the roads of al-Dabagha and wheat market with burning tires.

The grenade attack and the road closure were aimed at stopping the army from carrying out raids to arrest suspects involved in dozens of festivities that the city had witnessed in the past years.

[An Nahar] Four Syrians were indicted on Thursday with belonging to the al-Qaeda-inspired Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant

Bekaa Security Plan Kicks Off amid Reports of 'Escape of Fugitives from Brital'
[An Nahar] The Lebanese military carried out raids in several eastern towns in search for wanted individuals at the start of a security plan that armed forces launched on Thursday, amid reports that most runaways had fled the town of Brital.

The state-run National News Agency said the plan which was approved by the government last month, was launched in the eastern Bekaa Valley through raids in the towns of Brital and Hourtaala.

Army units were backed from the air by three helicopters that flew over Brital and its outskirts and the illegal border crossings, NNA said.

"The two runaways A. R. M. and H. M. T. were jugged

and raids are still underway and will extend to areas other than Brital and Hourtaala," the agency announced.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter awoke groggily, his hand still stuck in the Ming vase...
MTV said that "the runaways of Brital, who are estimated to number between 100 and 150, have left the town."

"Brital's residents are dismayed by the 'violent' raids that were carried out by the army but they have welcomed its presence in their town, and they are saying that all runaways have fled the town," MTV added.

It said the residents "are rejecting the accusation that they were behind facilitating the escape of the runaways and they're saying they did not have good relations with them despite the kinship."

NNA said later in the day that the Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau arrested in Brital the Syrians Ismail Ali al-Hussein and Imad Youssef Sweid for their involvement in the brief abduction of the child Michel al-Saqr.

For its part, Al-Arabiya TV said the army will stage raids Friday in Baalbek's al-Sharawneh neighborhood.

Earlier on Thursday, Voice of Leb radio (100.5) said that among the suspects the army is seeking to arrest is Maher Tleis, who has received a life sentence for his alleged involvement in kidnappings.

Reports have said that he has also been accused of preparing booby-trapped cars in Syria, which are later transported to Leb for terrorist acts.

The start of the security plan comes days after armed forces took full control of all checkpoints on the road linking the towns of Arsal and Hermel near the Syrian border.

51 dead as Islamist foes clash in Syria on Iraq border
[Al Ahram] At least 51 jihadist and Islamist fighters were killed as rival forces clashed in Syria on the border with Iraq on Thursday, a monitoring group said.

The fighting erupted at dawn after an assault by the jihadist Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original...
on posts held by Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front and its allies.

The festivities centred around the border town of Albu Kamal, from which ISIL was expelled from earlier this year, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

It said 51 combatants were killed.

The bodies of another 10 fighters, apparently executed by ISIL, were found at two sites near Albu Kamal, the Observatory said, adding there were reports of other summary executions in the same area.

Earlier, the monitoring group's head Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP that ISIL was advancing in Albu Kamal and had taken control of several districts previously held by Al-Nusra and other Islamist brigades.

The festivities prompted soldiers on the Iraqi side of the border to reinforce their positions.

The border crossing itself on the Syrian side remained in the hands of the mainstream rebel Free Syrian Army

, according to a rebel chief and an AFP news hound on the Iraqi side.
