Two St. Paul cops spotted what looked like a drug transaction at a White Castle parking lot in November 2008. The perps were ordered to stick their mitts in the air. Frank Irving Wiggins did that and ended up with his Pants on the Ground. Officer Kara Breci pulled his pants up for him and found a .38 in his pocket.
"Is that a .38 in yer pocket or are you glad to see me?" asked Ms. Police.
"Not mine," said Frank. "Somebody musta left it there."
Frank was convicted of possession of a firearm by an ineligible person and got five years in jug. He challenged the legality of Officer Friendly pulling his drawers up for him. The judge wrote that Ms. Police's actions weren't a search, but "incidental contact."
"Perhaps [Breci] decided to raise Wiggins' pants to afford him a bit of dignity regardless of her planned search. Or perhaps she wanted to avoid the risk of contacting his pee-pee genitalia through his underwear during her pat-search."
Sucker.

Here in Cameronistan; Pants are the things you wear inside trousers, so the headline sounded a lot more amusing.
Fitz Park is right off the Metro line between stops on Main and Dempster, Ave. Beth Emet is another 6 blocks down on Dempster. Four more Synagogues are clustered a mile and half west on Dempster. Five more. a mile or so south on Dodge Ave. Probably just a coincidence.

I checked his Facebook account late last night after reading the report here. He's got friends from the ME, but that doesn't really mean anything. FBI will check them out, I'm sure. Other than that, he sounds like an ordinary college kid who liked music, movies, the usual.
Another report suggests it was either suicide, an accident, or he pissed someone off.
I read a story about a guy discharging his AK-47 into his front lawn to scare off a gang of MS-13 who was threatening him in Long Island. The article said the police have acoustic-detecting equipment that can pinpoint a gunshot location to within 36 feet.

The article indicates an explosion was heard by local residents, who phoned the news in. The police stated they checked out the scene (it was night) and found nothing. (Their method was probably similar to the Cleveland cops recently, who didn't find a dead body laying on the interstate despite having been told of it.) The remains were detected the next day.
Apparently there was a boom around 3 a.m. that sounded like an electrical transformer exploding, loud enough to awaken the neighborhood. Several people called it in. The body was found by a gentleman walking his dog in the morning, according to the article.
The Ugandan army yesterday dismissed accusations in a leaked UN draft on atrocities in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo that it committed war crimes during operations there in the 1990s.
Those aren't war crimes, they're... something else.
Ugandan troops entered Congo in the 1990s to uproot the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a rebel Ugandan group that had established bases there.
But Ugandan soldiers eventually got sucked into the country's various wars including helping to topple the country's long-serving dictator, Mobutu Sese Seko, and twice clashing with their erstwhile ally, Rwanda.
The UN report, however, says Uganda People's Defense Forces (UPDF) soldiers committed grave crimes during its operations, some of which could be classified as war crimes.
Felix Kulayigye, the UPDF's spokesman, said the U.N. charges were false because they lacked detail and sound evidence.
"I dismiss that report as rubbish, absolute rubbish," he told Reuters.
"We've been through this before with the International Criminal Court which didn't find any evidence of war crimes against the UPDF. Secondly, we conducted our own judicial investigation which cleared us of such accusations."
The leaked report has sparked a diplomatic row between the United Nations and Rwanda as it says troops from that country may have committed genocide in Congo.
Rwanda has threatened to pull its U.N. peacekeeping soldiers out of Sudan's Darfur region in protest and the U.N. is delaying publication of the final report to give concerned states a chance to comment.
REIGN OF TERROR
The U.N. report documents several incidents in Congo where UPDF soldiers are accused of atrocities such as massacres of civilians, torture and destroying critical civilian infrastructure.
"In the town of Beni, UPDF soldiers instituted a reign of terror for several years with complete impunity. They carried out summary executions of civilians, arbitrarily detained large numbers of people and subjected them to torture and various other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatments," the report said.
The report said the UPDF used a particularly cruel form of detention that involved putting detainees into deep holes in the ground, where they were forced to live exposed to bad weather.
"What's the motive of the authors of this report? We currently have excellent relations with DRC. Now are these authors aiming at achieving instability or chaos?" Kulayigye said.
In one incident, the UPDF was accused of disabling the turbines on the Inga dam in 1998, depriving the capital Kinshasa and a large areas in the province of Bas-Congo of electricity for three weeks.

Police said a gang of 15 to 20 attacked the house of Sirajul Islam around 1:45am. "Yar, we be the bandits of Pashchim Jangalia! Open the door and surrender!"

Trade Union Congress (TUC) drops plans for general boycott of Israel, but settlement goods ban to continue; group to strengthen ties with Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
Britains trade union federation voted at its annual conference in Manchester on Tuesday to continue its boycott of Israeli goods and services from West Bank settlements but dropped plans for a full boycott campaign.
The Trade Union Congress also voted to strengthen ties with the radical fringe group the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
However the motion stopped short of a full general boycott of Israel.
Congress instructs the General Council to work closely with the PSC to actively encourage affiliates, employers and pension funds to disinvest from, and boycott the goods of companies who profit from illegal settlements, the occupation and the construction of the wall, the motion said.
At its conference last year, the TUC voted to support a targeted consumer-led boycott of goods from the West Bank settlements and to work closely with the PSC in order to build an effective boycott campaign.
It also voted to campaign for disinvestment from companies associated with the occupation as well as those engaged in building the separation wall. Consequently, many expected a stronger course of action at Tuesday's conference furthering the boycott and divestment campaign, but in the end it was dropped from the motion.
The Board of Deputies of British Jews welcomed the decision to not implement a full boycott saying it was a blow to the boycott movement.
I think the Board of Deputies are wearing gold-plated, rose-coloured glasses. But if one is a British Jew, one must take the little victories as they come, since there don't seem to be many bigger ones.

I support strong women in any work place. Cat calls and harassment have no place in the work place. However lady we are not eunuchs, you show up with a plunging neckline and tight pants you will get the reaction you would expect. If you want to be taken seriously, holster them puppies and dial down sexy outfits.

That is not a 'professional Journalist' outfit (at least to me). If she wants to be treated 'professionally' she should dress 'professionally'.

Implants (compare to older photos). And her shirt is basically unbuttoned to the point where there is very little left to the imagination you can just about see the underside of things. If you wish to be treated professionally, dress professionally.
If a "built" male reporter showed up with his "manhood" bulging clearly thru the front of his skin tight trousers and his shirt unbuttoned to the waist, at a WNBA game and their locker room (or for that matter an NFL locker room), do you think there would be a problem with his professionalism? Yes. Same for her.

As far as I'm concerned, she can have her 5, 10, or 15 minutes of fame. Heck, I'll give her an hour if she wants it. I realize she's just looking for publicity but I don't mind (looking at) her one bit.

Since it seems a fluff topic is needed, I have to agree with the pro player who was disciplined for pointed out what Beldar said...no not pro tennis who other than the built part would be the exception...no not Mexican pro soccer where apparently they are not, uhem, so in her visits to the locker room.
She did have two points in her interview concerning her view.

Since the TV broadcasts went digital, I now get Univision on one of the channel -- Spanish language station that is nationwide. ALL of the female reporters on that station/network dress like her : super tight clothes, mini-skirts, unbuttoned blouses, etc. I think it is the norm for Latin American TV for the female reporters to dress like they are on the prowl.
