Anna Nicole Smith Murdered?
"Legume! My cape and my saxophone! The game's afoot!"
In the weeks before her tragic death, Anna Nicole Smith was taking so many drugs that she feared her lawyer Howard K. Stern was trying to kill her!

Sources spilling to the ENQUIRER reveal at least two suicide attempts, regular cocaine use, frequent collapses, and episodes of vomiting and bed soiling following the death of her son Daniel. Obsessed with her weight, she ate little solid food - and, worse, carried the obsession over to her 5-month-old daughter Dannielynn, ordering staff at her Bahamas mansion to underfeed the baby so she'd grow up "slim and sexy," charge sources. Dannielynn's nanny has filed a document accusing her former boss of requiring her to starve the baby and having sexcapades with the Bahamian Minister of Immigration.
That's it. I don't want to know any more.
The nanny, Quethlie Alexis, swore in an affidavit that she was repeatedly threatened by Anna (aka Vickie Marshall) to "underfeed" Dannielynn because, "Ms. Marshall was obsessed with making sure that her baby was 'sexy.' Ms. Marshall knew that the correct amount of baby food was 3 ounces every 3 hours ... Ms. Marshall insisted that the maximum I was to give was 2.5 ounces." Alexis explained that Anna Nicole threatened to "shoot her" if Dannielynn ever called the nanny "Mummy" and made sure she underfed the baby by "making sure the baby monitor was kept on all the time." She explains that as a result, Dannielynn "is badly underweight and not thriving, as a baby should."

#7  From the anecdotes I've read she was, while not particularly bright and way too brassy, actually a rather nice person, especially by Hollywood standards.

She didn't pretend to not know people. She treated her staff and entourage decently. She didn't trash other hollywood people.

#8  Is it just me, or is the possibility of Howard Marshall being the daddy out of line with nature, just by timeline standards? I thought he died way back in 2001 or so. Add 14 months (9 month preggies and 5 month old baby) and I don't think Mr. Marshall was "in da sack" with Anna.

Legal war erupts for control of Smith body
Why? Everybody seemed like they were willing to share before she was dead...
Anna Nicole Smith's death spiraled into a post-mortem legal war Wednesday, with judges on both coasts issuing rulings and a seemingly endless parade of lawyers fighting for control of the former Playboy model's body. At the end of the day, though, the question of the fate of Smith's remains was still unanswered and a judge here said the dispute could be lengthy.

"We're going to have hearings - as many hearings as we need," Circuit Judge Larry Seidlin said at the start of afternoon proceedings. "This is just a warm up."

Three people are seeking control of Smith's body - her longtime companion Howard K. Stern, her estranged mother Vergie Arthur and photographer Larry Birkhead, who claims to have fathered the starlet's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn.

US drops Liberia debt
The US secretary of state has said the US will cancel the $391 million in debt owed by Liberia and urged other states to help the West African nation recover from conflict. "We will cancel that debt, all of it, under the framework for highly indebted countries," Condoleezza Rice told a donor conference at the World Bank in Washington on Tuesday. "We hope that this will help to relieve Liberia's crippling debt burden, a debt burden that today's leadership do not deserve," she said.

Bangladesh
B'desh army chief defends crackdown on corruption
Bangladesh’s army chief has attacked the country’s corrupt elite who he accused of amassing huge wealth by stealing money meant for the poor, a report said Wednesday. “Corruption has engulfed every sphere of life. This cannot be allowed to continue,” head of the army Lieutenant General Moeen U Ahmed was quoted as saying late Tuesday by the private UNB news agency. “It is not possible to count the enormous wealth they have accumulated,” he said, adding that their “lust for wealth” had seen the mass misappropriation of funds allocated for the poor.

Moeen’s comments came just over a month after President Iajuddin Ahmed stepped down as head of the previous caretaker government, cancelled disputed elections and imposed a state of emergency. Speaking to an invited audience in the southern town of Barguna, Moeen said the country was not under martial law and denied that the army was running the government. Earlier this month he also denied that the army wished to seize power. “No martial law exists. The president has declared an emergency. The armed forces are only assisting the civil administration,” he said.

Moeen warned that the new interim government’s corruption drive would spare no-one, no matter their position. “(The) corrupt whoever he is - politician, business magnate or bureaucrat - will not be spared,” the report quoted him as saying.

Chavez Threatens More Nationalizations
We'll be seeing Live Aid concerts for the starving people of Venezuela by the end of the year.
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- President Hugo Chavez threatened Wednesday to nationalize any privately owned supermarkets and food storage facilities caught hoarding inventories or violating price controls imposed on basic goods. Accusing private companies of hoarding beef and other foods, Chavez warned supermarket owners and distributors that he would nationalize their facilities as soon as they gave him "an excuse."
Or even if they don't.
"If they remain committed to violating the interests of the people, the constitution, the laws, I'm going to take the food storage units, corner stores, supermarkets and nationalize them," Chavez said during a televised broadcast. "So prepare yourselves!"

Chavez has been intent on nationalizing "strategic" sectors of the economy since winning re-election in December and then being elected dictator by the toadies in his government. He has moved quickly to buy out private interests in leading electricity and phone companies since the National Assembly gave him authority to enact sweeping measures by decree and accelerate the country's socialist transformation.

Earlier this week the government signed deals to buy stakes in local companies owned by two U.S. corporations - Verizon Communications Inc and CMS Energy Corp. There are no major U.S. interests, however, involved in the supermarket or food storage business in Venezuela.

Chavez said his decree permitting takeovers of food stores and warehouses will take effect upon publication in the official gazette this week. "The large storage installations, distribution chains, if we have to take them over and nationalize them, wait a few hours for the law to be approved," he said.

Venezuela's consumer protection agency and National Guard have raided warehouses and confiscated tons of food they say vendors were unwilling to sell at the official price.
Industry officials blame shortages on price controls that oblige retailers to sell at a loss, while the government claims unscrupulous speculators, including supermarket owners and distributors, have been hoarding food to boost prices. Venezuela's consumer protection agency and National Guard have raided warehouses and confiscated tons of food they say vendors were unwilling to sell at the official price.
Is it fair to say that Hugo has no clue whatsoever how to run a modern economy, except into the ground?
Jose Luis Betancourt, president of Venezuela's main business chamber, said Chavez's threat carried serious implications for the private sector. "This is a veiled threat against any company, any business owner, any investor, any citizen," Betancourt told Globovision TV station.
Just figuring that out are you?
He said the industry was ready to discuss food supply problems with Chavez if necessary, "but we can't work under threats and blackmail or boasts like this."

Industry and Commerce Minister Maria Cristina said the pending decree would give the Chavez government, working through municipal authorities and neighborhood councils, authority over food distribution and sales if private companies such as supermarket chains halt their operations. Many privately owned supermarkets have suspended sales of beef, milk and sugar in recent weeks after one chain was temporarily shut down for hours for pricing meat above government-set levels. Most items can still be found, but only by paying higher prices at grocery stores or on the black market.

#5  Perfesser.....They'll be backing up JOHN MORONCAMP!!!

#6  Chavez knows nothing about inventory control. Now that he has given fair warning, all the food chains and transport companies will overnight convert to a "push" supply system. Instead of keeping large supplies at distribution points, they will only ship based on daily need, warehousing outside of the country.

This means that only very perishables, stuff that lasts under two weeks, like milk, will be warehoused in any amount. Everything else will have to be paid for in cash before it even enters the country.

So as soon as he announces, and you know he will, the nationalization of the food supply network, he will end up with empty stores, warehouses, any trucks that haven't been driven out of the country first, and enough perishables for two weeks.

Basically, within a month, there will be no food in the country. And when he demands more, they will not only demand that he pay cash on the barrel head, but that he make good on the cost of all those empty stores and warehouses he took, before he gets squat.

Hopefully, they will tell him as a group to go fish, and give Venezuela the choice: either get rid of "el Supremo", and give us back our stuff, or starve.

#9  Okay, the non-repentant commies in the west always say the Soviet Union was not real communism.

What about what Hugo's trying? No reeducation camps and secret police but the economic outcome appears very similar. Without oil to prop him up he'd have turned Venezuela into Cuba by now.

#10  Is it fair to say that Hugo has no clue whatsoever how to run a modern economy, except into the ground?

It would be more fair to say he has no idea how to run even the most rudimentary sort of economy, except into the ground.

Turkmen leader's election 'unfair'
Kurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has been sworn in as the new president of Turkmenistan in an election that has been declared unfair by international observers. Berdymukhamedov, who took over as acting head of state when Saparmurat Niyazov died in December, won 89 per cent of the February 11 vote, the head of the election commission said on Wednesday.

The election was described as "not free and fair" by the head of a group of parliamentarians from the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe, who observed it. Human rights groups, Western diplomats and exiled Turkmen opposition leaders also criticised Sunday's election as rigged. But it has been seen by others as an opportunity to begin gradual change. Berdymukhamedov has called for limited reforms, including allowing access to the internet, reorganisation of the education system and getting more doctors and hospitals after two decades of authoritarian rule by Niyazov.

Gore announces 'global climate change warming' concerts
Mark your calendars, folks...
LOS ANGELES - Al Gore announced on Thursday a series of worldwide concerts to focus on the threat of climate change, with a powerhouse lineup from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Snoop Dogg to Bon Jovi.
Rock on, dudes. Does Prius make a stretch limo yet? You gonna fly there by hot air balloon?
The 24-hour event on July 7 is part of a campaign, Save Our Selves — The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis, that promoters hope will trigger a broad movement to address what the former vice president calls a global climate crisis.
Oh, god. Not a new term. So now it's "global climate change warming crisis"?
"In order to solve the climate crisis, we have to reach billions of people," the environmental activist, filmmaker and 2000 Democratic presidential nominee said in a statement. "The climate crisis will only be stopped by an unprecedented and sustained global movement."
...and then he got in his Gulfstream and flew away.
Gore is often mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2008 despite his repeated statements that he's not running. Recently, some former aides met in Boston to discuss a campaign to draft the former vice president.
So how is Tipper, Al?
Fine, Hillary, why do you ask?
Oh, it might be nice if she stayed that way...

The concerts on seven continents will bring newfound publicity to Gore, who already is enjoying celebrity status with his Oscar-nominated documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth." Gore said he was thrilled that the film, on the perils of global warming, was nominated for best documentary and for best song, the latter nod coming for Melissa Etheridge's "I Need to Wake Up."
The Academy Awards are Feb. 25.
Is that before or after the Nobel Peace Prize thingy? I'll bet Al's head is just spinning with all this stuff...
More than 100 performers are scheduled to appear at the July concerts, including Etheridge, the Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Duran Duran, Korn, Pharrell, the Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Enrique Iglesias, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
...and I hope they've already bought their carbon credits? Oh, I'm sure they have.
Promoters said the Live Earth concerts will take place in Shanghai, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; Sydney, Australia; London and cities to be announced in Japan, Brazil and the United States.
Good. Spread that carbon depletion around.
Promoters said the concerts — dubbed Live Earth — could reach 2 billion people through attendance or broadcasts. Proceeds will create a foundation to combat climate change led by The Alliance for Climate Protection, which is chaired by Gore. The Save our Selves campaign was founded by Kevin Wall, who won an Emmy as Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8.
Don't get sucked in by them groupies, Al. They'll eat ya alive...

#3  If they really believed this anthropogenic global warming crap, they wouldn't be doing this. They would say "We want to have a lot of concerts, but the carbon footprint from such a thing, especially the private jets, the limos, the trash, etc. etc. is too much." Instead they tell us peons that we must sacrifice to save the planet.

Guard presence drops illegal crossing 62%
One phrase sums up both the chief achievement and complaint of National Guard soldiers and airmen posted along this dusty strip of border with Mexico: "Nothing happening." That's good news for Operation Jumpstart, President Bush's eight-month-old initiative to reinforce America's southern border with National Guard troops until enough border patrol agents are trained. The extra troops appear to be discouraging people from trying to cross illegally. Apprehensions of illegal immigrants in the Yuma sector – one of the busiest for the past two years and a top target for the operation – have dropped 62 percent in the last four months compared with the same period a year ago. That's the biggest drop of all nine border patrol sectors on the frontier with Mexico and double the average decline. The amount of marijuana seized in the Yuma sector fell 36 percent for the same period.

The figures for the entire southern border – a 27 decline in apprehensions and a 51 percent increase in marijuana seized – are encouraging, experts say. "If those numbers hold [for the entire fiscal year], that would indeed represent a significant drop," says Luis Cabrera, an expert on transnational justice issues at Arizona State University in Tempe. "We're pretty sure there's a deterrence effect."

President Bush visited this busy crossing point last May to introduce his program to supplement US border patrol agents with National Guard soldiers and airmen for two years (6,000 the first year, 3,000 the next). Of those, 2,400 are posted in Arizona, which has the two top-priority sectors in the operation – Tucson and Yuma. "We have had 49 states participate in the border mission in Arizona, with 7,758 [troops] coming through Arizona," says Maj. Paul Aguirre, spokesman for Operation Jumpstart in Arizona. "Roughly 40 percent of the effort is in Arizona."

Moreover, some 500 additional border patrol agents have bolstered the efforts in the Yuma sector this past year, as have added infrastructure – National Guard helicopters, miles of triple fences, lights, cameras, and sensors.

#1  UUUUMMMMM, a drop in "Aprehensions' does not necessarily mean a drop in crossings, it only means fewer are caught.
Posted by: Redneck Jim || 02/15/2007 9:00 Comments || Top||

#2  With all due respect for N. Guard on the border, Redneck Jim is absolutely correct. The “Apprehension” statistic is simply a single correlation determinate. Furthermore, it is impossible to make any conclusions of trends based on a single year sample. However, this statistic taken at face value actually indicates just the opposite of the intended purpose of the Guards support role. We were told they are there to free up border patrol from routine duties to…uhemm…allow them to make more apprehensions – not less. And remember, Homeland Security always uses increased apprehensions as an indicator of success. Of course, that’s somewhat dubious as well because of the all the other factors that may or may not contribute to success or failure. Bottom line, more boots and eyes on the ground can’t hurt but without clearly defined rules of engagement the funding for the Guards limited role arguably could be better spent. This article is another example of how the immigration phenomena is presented in a fashion to change perception yet it’s based speculation and yes – Bullshit.

#4  "To truly gain operational control of the border – to stop unauthorized immigration in the way people speak about – will resemble a major military operation in cost and size of undertaking." -- how is that a problem? We're at war anyway.
Tried to find links but failed. Reports several months old indicate the Border Patrol has cut back on the timeliness of its reports of apprehensions of illegal immigrants.
Today another rock-throwing incident on the EL Paso border followed by a BP shooting at someone. See here.

#5  There may be a glimmer of truth here for an odd combination of reasons.

First of all, illegal immigration is very publicity driven. That is, many of the illegals are not from the border area and know only what they hear in the news and gossip about it, and how easy it is to cross. If it sounds harder, fewer of them will try to cross.

For its part, every time the Mexican government bitches about US restrictions on illegals, it gets lots of attention in the Mexican media.

Second, the typical Mexican is terrified of their army, which translates to fear of soldiers in general. They are afraid of the US National Guard, because they probably think that they would treat them like the Mexican army, that is, shoot them and bury them in an shallow grave for no particular reason.

Third, it is cold as hell in that desert right now.

India-Pakistan
Some foreign companies' entry in India need to be blocked: NSC
Close on the heels of National Security Advisor M K Narayanan's remark about terrorists' manipulation of stock markets in India, the National Security Council has highlighted the need to block the entry of some foreign companies in the country's sensitive infrastructure sectors.

A report of NSC has said that such companies, unless checked, could gain access to the country's vital information and communication technology assets.

In this context, the report cited the case of Egyptian mobile telecom company Orasscom which "has the potential to be on the board of one of India's major telecom companies Hutch-Essar (now major stake taken over by British telecom giant Vodafone).

Orasscom had reportedly been in the running initially for a controlling stake in the Hutch-Essar.

The report said Orasscom has received investment from late Yasser Arafat's Palestine Liberation Organization.

Besides, the company is the biggest telecom operator in Pakistan and has a large presence in Bangladesh, the report said.

The presence of the Egyptian company in India would not be in national interest as the entity could gain access to "our ICT assets and enhance the capabilities of our adversaries in gathering intelligence", said the report.

Among some other overseas companies pointed out by the NSC were Huawei of China, Dubai Ports World, which was refused by the US to manage ports in that country, and an aviation company which has its stake in an Indian private low-cost carrier.Jet Airways - Arab financed

While making it clear that it was not against FDI inflow the country, the NSC report, however, said indiscriminate merger and acquisition leading to foreign companies' entry into sensitive sectors would harm the country's interest.

Indian Defence Budget likely to go up by 11 per cent
The Government, in an effort to sustain the momentum of the ongoing modernisation of the Armed Forces, is likely to enhance the Defence Budget for the next year by 11 to 12 per cent.

The expected hike from this year's Budget of Rs 89,000 crore will be used for the induction of much-needed operational weapons and platforms, including artillery guns, reconnaissance planes, multi-role fighter jets, electronic warfare equipment and avionics.

The top political leadership appreciates the fact that the Armed Forces are keen to acquire new weapon systems and upgrade the existing platforms wherever feasible to fill the operational gaps arising due to ageing of the inventory. In fact, this phenomenon has remained the central focus of the budgetary grants for the past five or six years and Finance Minister P Chidambaram will stick to this yardstick this year too, sources said on Thursday.

The last few years have seen rapid upgradation of systems and platforms ranging from artillery guns to planes besides procuring new systems and all these systems are necessary to maintain operational preparedness and military balance in the subcontinent. Modernisation started in the right earnest during the NDA regime and the UPA Government has carried on thereby assuring continuity and a clear signal to the Armed Forces that finances will not be a problem for acquisitions.

Meanwhile, the process of selecting the required systems was also completed during the last financial year and the Defence Ministry will have to start meeting the contractual obligations of payments in the next fiscal. Some of the major deals include Smerch multi-barrel rocket launcher to be purchased from Russia for the Army and inking of the contract for eight to ten long-range maritime patrol aircraft for the Navy, sources said. They also said the Budget is likely to factor in financial commitment after the selection of the vendor for the $10 billion deal for 126 multi-role fighter aircraft for the IAF.

The race for the 126-aircraft deal is hotting up as the request for proposal (RFP) by India is slated to be floated soon and the Government is likely to finish the entire process of technical evaluation, price negotiations and shortlisting the vendor by the middle of the next year. This deal is the biggest in the last three decades.

Six competitors, including F-16, F-18 (US), Gripen (Sweden), MIG-35 (Russia), Rafael (France) and Eurofighter (UK) are vying for the contract and they displayed the unique capabilities of their aircraft during the international Aero Show in Bangalore last week.

Besides this big ticket deal, the hike will also cater for pending upgrades for the frontline Mirage fighter jets in France and signing of the deal between India and Russia for 40 more SU-30 fighter jets before the end of this financial year, sources said. The IAF will also need money for acquiring medium level radar systems to bolster its air defence network and the Government has cleared all these deals, they said.

Chidambaram will also have to make provisions for acquisition of MIG-29K fighter jets for aircraft carrier Gorshkov rechristened INS Vikramditya. The Navy is procuring the aircraft carrier from Russia and its refurbishment is going at present in Russia as per Indian specifications. The carrier will join service by the end of next year and fill the void created by the decommissioning of INS Vikrant 10 years ago.

The Army is engaged in modernising its infantry and artillery and has planned to spend about Rs 7,000 crore in the next three years to equip its infantry soldiers with the state-of-the-art weapons. The Army is also enhancing its capabilities to fight wars by acquiring equipment for its tanks, artillery and infantry troops.

India to test new nuclear missile
NEW DELHI, India (AP) -- India will test-fire a new missile within the next few months capable of carrying nuclear warheads across much of Asia and the Middle East, a news report quoting a top defense scientist said.

A first test of the Agni III missile failed in July last year, but scientists have fixed a fault in its heat shield and it will be relaunched again "very soon," the head of India's state-run Defense Research and Development Organization, M. Natrajan, said, according to a Press Trust of India report on Wednesday.

"We have now come up with a flexible heat shield. All other parameters of the missile would remain the same," the report cited Natrajan as saying.

Natrajan did not give an exact timeframe for the test. "It may be in May or June or even earlier," he said.

India's current crop of missiles have been largely intended to confront neighboring archrival Pakistan. The Agni III, in contrast, is India's longest-range missile, designed to reach 3,000 kilometers (1,900 miles) -- putting China's major cities well into range, as well as targets deep in the Middle East.

It is also said to be capable of carrying up to a 300 kiloton nuclear warhead.

India and China have engaged in decades of mutual suspicion and fought a 1962 border war. But relations have warmed considerably in recent years as the two Asian giants have boosted trade and economic ties.

India's External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee met his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday to discuss business, trade and energy security among the three Asian powers.

India's homegrown missile arsenal already includes the short-range Prithvi ballistic missile, the medium-range Akash, the anti-tank Nag and the supersonic Brahmos missile, developed jointly with Russia.

Natrajan, who is also a scientific adviser to India's defense department, also said that the DRDO may carry out a second test of its interceptor missile before testing Agni III.

In November India said it had carried out its first successful test interception of a ballistic missile, using a second missile to shoot down an incoming rocket.

Polio cases jump in Pakistan as clerics declare vaccination an American plot
The Guardian is finally taking notice of something we've discussed the last couple of years.
The parents of 24,000 children in northern Pakistan refused to allow health workers to administer polio vaccinations last month, mostly due to rumours that the harmless vaccine was an American plot to sterilise innocent Muslim children.

The disinformation - spread by extremist clerics using mosque loudspeakers and illegal radio stations, and by word of mouth - has caused a sharp jump in polio cases in Pakistan and hit global efforts to eradicate the debilitating disease. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recorded 39 cases of polio in Pakistan in 2006, up from 28 in 2005. The disease is concentrated in North-West Frontier Province, where 60% of the refusals were attributed to "religious reasons".
"Me Mullah told me it would cause me doinker to shrink!"
"It was very striking. There was a lot of anti-American propaganda as well as some idiotic misconceptions about sterilisation," said Dr Sarfaraz Afridi, a campaign manager with the WHO in Peshawar.

#1  I hear the evil Americans have figured out how to get long-term exposure to poppies to sterilize people, too. And figured out how to get olives to cause sterility. And fruits and vegetables. And anything but pork. And bread. And anything else I can think of, including Viagra.

#2  We've been shipping Pakistan paper to use for printing Korans. That paper also causes sterility. Well, actually, it causes their doinkers to retract into their bodies, but the effect's the same.

(And is it bad to read this story and chant "go polio! go polio!"?)

Pakistanis celebrate Valentine's Day

Many young, urban Pakistanis ignored threats from religious conservatives and celebrated St Valentine’s Day on Wednesday with gifts of red roses, heart-shaped cakes and chocolates, Reuters reported. Some religious groups in the country have condemned celebrating the Christian saint’s day as un-Islamic, and warned of damnation for those who do, but that didn’t put off the romantic, or businesses keen to cash in.

“What is Valentine’s Day except expressing one’s love for someone. What is un-Islamic about it?” asked Huma, a woman student queuing up at a courier firm in Karachi to place a Valentine’s order. Huma was getting a heart-shaped cake sent to her boyfriend.

Gift-shop owner Mohammad Hafeez said Valentine’s cards had been flying off his shelves, thanks in part to the media which he said had been promoting the day much more. In recent years, Pakistani newspapers have put out Valentine’s Day issues full of advertisements aimed at young, well-heeled, urban consumers.

But in the central city of Multan the youth wing of the powerful Jamaat-e-Islami religious party sent out stick-wielding volunteers looking to catch any unmarried couples celebrating the day in parks, hotels and guesthouses. “The government is doing nothing to stop these un-Islamic practices but if we catch anyone we will not spare them,” said Babar Man, leader of the youth group. Maulana Amir Hamza, a senior member of the Jamaatud Daawa, said Valentine’s Day was an attempt to corrupt Muslim youth.

Staff Report from Islamabad adds: Young people from the federal capital also celebrated Valentine’s Day with great fervour. Young girls and boys were seen buying roses, teddy bears, heart-shaped balloons and other gifts. “It is good to have a gift of one’s own choice, therefore we both came to buy gifts,” said Anum Quyyum and her fiancé Luqman Bhatti, who were buying gifts for each other from a shop.
