In an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, Zabiullah Mujahid said that 670 affiliates of ISIS-K have been arrested and 25 hideouts of the fighters were destroyed in the past three months.
Sounds impressive. Might even be partially or wholly true. Or not — there’s no way of knowing, especially if other rebels are being accused of being ISIS-K, or jihadi tourists wander into Afghanistan from other areas of operation.
Mujahid added that the safe havens were destroyed in the Afghan capital Kabul and eastern Jalalabad city of Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. The front man added that ISIS-K is not a big threat in Afghanistan and that this was a small group that has been dismantled in Kabul and Jalalabad.
"The vacuum in Afghanistan created an opportunity for the group to carry attacks immediately after August 15. There was no communication system and security system fixed by the Taliban initially." Said Mujahid.
He accused former Afghan president Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, ex-president of Afghanistan. The statements come as there has been decreased in attacks by the ISIS-K in Afghanistan.

The opposition of Libya’s Islamists to the presidential elections does not come as a surprise. For years, the Muslim Brotherhood has been pushing against polls, justifying its position by the need to hold a referendum on the constitution first.

Some button men on Thursday morning kidnapped Damian Nwaigwe, the traditional ruler of Mbutu ancient kingdom in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
It was learnt that the button men were not fewer than 10 in number.
The monarch was kidnapped at his palace around 2: 30am, a community source told The Punch.
The source said, "The traditional ruler of Mbutu ancient kingdom in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo state, Eze Damian Nwaigwe, has been kidnapped. The respected king was kidnapped at his palace around 2.30 am, on Thursday.
"Those who kidnapped him were many. They came in vehicles and were more than 10. They barricaded his palace, shot indiscriminately until they whisked the monarch away in an already steaming vehicle.
"The palace of the king is secluded. He built his house far from where other villagers live that was why it wasn't difficult for him to have been kidnapped without any resistance from his subjects."
The incident has caused apprehension in the community, and villagers were said to have kept vigil from the time of the incident till dawn.
Police spokesperson in the state, Micheal Abattam, confirmed the kidnap of the monarch.
Abattam said the command was working to rescue the monarch alive.
Some bandidos have reportedly demanded N10 million from some communities under their control in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State to stop attacks.
The bandidos were said to have demanded the money after a reconciliation meeting was held between the people of the affected communities and the representatives of the gang of bandidos.
The meeting was reportedly held in a village called Kuryar Kware. However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... a source told Daily Post that the bandidos sought a reconciliation meeting with the people of Yanbuki and its neighbouring communities in Zurmi.
The source also said there was a recent attack by the bandidos in the Yanbuki community last Saturday during which more than 35 persons were kidnapped.
The meeting was reportedly attended by many residents of Yanbuki, and its neighbouring communities.
The source who is from Yanbuki, said "after realising that all effort to get the government and security agencies to secure the axis failed, we had no option but to accept the reconciliation meeting, and they have demanded the payment of N10 million fine for peace to reign."
The source said that the affected communities had agreed to pay the sum for their areas to be secure.
He identified the communities as Yanbuki, Tsaka, Maduba, Askawa, Ganda Samu, Dillin Fulani ... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity... and Kafan Dutsi, saying their residents were part of the meeting.
The bandidos were said to have demanded that the residents of Yanbuki village pay a ransom for the 68 persons that were kidnapped frоm the village.
"On this particular issue of payment of ransom, even the communities' members and the bandidos held meeting again on Wednesday but could not reach an agreement," the source said.
However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... a man from the village who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, said he was asked to pay N1,000.
The villager said residents of Yanbuki village were levied individually.
But the state information commissioner, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, said the state government was not aware that a fine was imposed on the people of Yanbuki community.
He, however, assured that he would investigate the substance of the claim.
He admitted that the government was aware of the plight of Yanbuki community members regarding the incessant attacks on the village by the bandidos.
"Even recently, security agencies came to their rescue on the threats they are undergoing. But we are not aware that they were asked to pay a N10 million fine. We cannot confirm the substance of the claim now until we investigate it.
"On the allegation that the people of Yanbuki village were neglected by the government despite the threat, they are facing from the bandidos, did they inform you that recently the vehicles of security agencies were attacked and set ablaze by the bandidos, so if they are neglected, how did security vehicles get burnt? I think that issue of saying they were abandoned by the government does not arise."

[BBC] At least 53 people have been killed and dozens more injured after the truck they were being transported in crashed in southern Mexico, authorities say.
Over 100 people, said to be migrants from Central America, were crammed into the truck's trailer when it rolled and hit a bridge in the state of Chiapas.
Pictures from the crash scene show victims strewn across the road next to the overturned truck.
There were also rows of what appeared to be bodies covered in white sheets.
It is one of the worst accidents of its kind in Mexico, with at least 58 people injured, some seriously, said Luis Manuel Garcia, head of the Chiapas civil protection agency.
He said the victims included men, women and children. Their nationalities have not been confirmed, but local officials said most of the people on board were migrants from Honduras and Guatemala.
The truck was reportedly speeding when it flipped on a sharp bend and hit a pedestrian bridge on a main road leading to the Chiapas state capital Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
Chiapas, which neighbours Guatamala, is a major transit point for undocumented migrants.

[Breitbart] French conservative presidential candidate Eric Zemmour held his first campaign rally over the weekend but the event was marred when he was assaulted by a crowd member, while 39 Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... bully boyz were arrested allegedly armed with weapons and acid at the venue.
The conservative writer and television pundit was attacked shortly before his speech in Villepinte on Sunday by a member of the audience who attempted to get his arms around the neck of Zemmour before security was able to subdue him.
Zemmour himself was left with an injured wrist due to the altercation and given nine days of Temporary Incapacity for Work (ITT), according to a report from the French broadcaster BFMTV.
The alleged assailant taken into custody for premeditated violence was identified in the French press as 27-year-old Valentin Abdelmajid B.
not exactly a-%— his name redacted in line with normal French privacy rules — from Colombes.
The 27-year-old was not the only one arrested at the rally on Sunday. At least 39 far-left Antifa bully boyz were taken into custody by police at the event, with reports that some of the bully boyz were armed with Molotov cocktails and "bottles of acid". A total of 11 Molotov cocktails are reported to have been found by police.
That bully boyz would take acid to a political event has been denounced by establishment politicians on French national television.
Antifa has previously targeted Zemmour events, including an event in late October that led Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša to describe Antifa as an international terrorist group.
"Antifa is a global terrorist organization. Supported by the capital of financial speculators forging profits at the expense of the chaos caused by the operation," Janša said.
Earlier last week, Antifa social media accounts had called on bully boyz to disrupt Zemmour’s rally, and in Villepinte.
Despite the attack on himself, Zemmour gave a speech to the estimated 10,000 or more people who attended the event and announced the creation of his political party Reconquest, which some have noted could be a reference to the Spanish Reconquista, which saw Christians drive out Islamic rulers who had invaded the Iberian peninsula centuries before.
Zemmour’s campaign manager has been revealed to be a decorated French Army general, Général Bertrand de la Chesnais, a commander of the French Legion of Honour.
During his speech, Zemmour stated that he would bring immigration levels to zero and would also look to pull La Belle France from the integrated military command of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... The campaign rally is the first for Zemmour, who announced his formal election campaign last week in a video in which he described the "third-worldisation" of La Belle France and described how many French felt like strangers in their own country.
"You have not moved and yet you have the feeling of no longer being at home. You feel like a stranger in your country. You are exiles from within," he said and added, "the third-worldisation of our people and our country impoverishes them as much as it dislocates them."
Zemmour also mentioned the theory of the Great Replacement, a theory describing radical demographic shifts in Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... and elsewhere that was coined by French writer Renaud Camus.
Polls have shown that as many as half of the French public believes in the Great Replacement theory, which asserts that elites in business and politics view people as interchangeable things.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Authorities have released up to 100 Pak Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... prisoners as part of a truce with the bully boy group, sources on both sides said on Thursday. I think we can all envision the amount of good that will come of this.
Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) -- a separate movement that shares a common history with the Afghan Taliban -- plunged the country into a period of horrific violence after forming in 2007. TTP was a merger of a bunch of other murderous groups and the violence was pretty horrific before 2007.
Seven years after the military cracked down on the movement, Islamabad is trying to quell a TTP comeback linked to the victory of the Afghan Taliban across the border. As long as they have sanctuaries on the other side of the border, Pakistain has a problem.
The two sides have been engaged in talks, with a one-month truce that was due to end on December 9 extended, the sources said. The Talibs were engaged in talks with the Afghan government too. That certainly worked out well.
"Up to 100 Taliban fighters have been released during the last 10 to 15 days, they are low-level fighters and will remain under observation," said a government official based in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire... , a city close to the remote tribal areas near the Afghan border where the TTP are active.
A security official in the city also confirmed the releases, from several prisons in the northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, and added that they would not be moved to Afghanistan.
A senior Taliban commander based in eastern Afghanistan told AFP that the release was important as a confidence-building measure.
"The TTP leadership has shown its willingness to increase the ceasefire for an indefinite period," the Taliban commander told AFP by phone and added that "talks with the Pak officials would continue."
The two government officials who spoke to AFP also confirmed the extension of the truce.
Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan ...aka The Great Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five... announced in October that the government was in talks with the TTP for the first time since 2014, facilitated by Afghanistan’s new leaders who seized power in August.
The talks have angered many within Pakistain, who remember the brutal attacks -- including on schools, hotels, churches and markets -- which killed around 70,000 people, according to successive governments.
This year the TTP claimed 32 attacks in August, 37 in September and 24 in October -- the highest monthly totals for at least five years, according to their own published data, which Pak officials say is usually exaggerated.
Across all of 2020, when the United States first pledged to start withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan, it claimed 149 assaults -- three times more than in 2019.
Thousands of TTP fighters are believed to be in Afghanistan, mostly in the rugged eastern highlands neighboring Pakistain, where they sought shelter after the 2014 crackdown.
Made up mostly of ethnic Pashtuns, like the Afghan Taliban, it carried out hundreds of suicide and kabooms and kidnappings across the country for years before being crushed by a massive military operation.

Bassil called on the labor syndicates to reject it before the State Council, and on the Lebanese to refuse to comply with it.
