[Breitbart] Hundreds of children have been born to newly-arrived Afghans who were brought to the United States as part of President Joe Biden’s massive resettlement operation since mid-August, securing birthright citizenship in the process.
Biden started the operation in the midst of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan — bringing at least 70,000 Afghans to the country for resettlement with minimal standard vetting procedures.
Since then, Republicans and Democrats in Congress have bankrolled the operation to the sum of more than $13.3 billion in American taxpayer money.
According to data from the U.S. Army, more than 250 U.S.-born children have been delivered to newly-arrived Afghans since the end of August.
Most of the children have been born to Afghans temporarily living on various U.S. military bases which the Biden administration has converted into refugee camps until non-governmental organizations (NGOs) resettle the Afghans across 46 states.
Despite their parents having only arrived over the last few months, the U.S.-born children of Afghans are able to secure birthright American citizenship thanks to the nation’s so-called anchor baby policy.
The policy allows any foreign national, regardless of whether they have ties to the U.S. or not, to secure birthright American citizenship for their child so long as they are born within the physical perimeters of the country.
The U.S. is among one of only two nations in the developed world to have such a policy.
For Afghans, the policy is significant as many new arrivals have yet to secure visas or refugee status and thus will rely heavily on their U.S.-born child’s birthright American citizenship to obtain green cards years from now.
Former President Trump had said he was readying a plan to end birthright citizenship with an executive order that likely would have been challenged by open borders organizations, forcing the issue potentially up to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Trump, though, did not sign any such order while in office.
To date, the U.S. Supreme Court has never explicitly ruled that the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens must be granted automatic American citizenship, and a number of legal scholars dispute the idea.
Many leading conservative scholars argue the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment does not provide mandatory birthright citizenship to the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens or noncitizens, as these children were not subject to U.S. jurisdiction as that language was understood when the 14th Amendment was ratified.
Today’s anchor baby population exceeds the annual number of U.S. births. Whereas four million Americans are born every year, the anchor baby population stands at five million.

[DW] DW is probing "serious allegations" of antisemitism posted privately online by DW employees that were reported in German media. The broadcaster is also halting cooperation with Jordan's TV Roya over antisemitic content.
Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany's international broadcaster, has established an independent investigation into a press report on antisemitic remarks made by some members of the editorial staff at DW's Arabic service.
Director General Peter Limbourg has emphasized that there is a zero-tolerance policy toward antisemitism at DW.
"The private statements made by some DW employees that were quoted in the press are incompatible with the values which we all stand for at DW," he said.
The investigation will examine comments by DW employees in other media and on their personal social media profiles.
"To carry out the independent investigation, DW was able to appoint two specialists with a particularly high-level expertise for this task: former German Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger and psychologist Ahmad Mansour. I thank them both for their contribution in bringing a prompt resolution to what has been a difficult time for DW."
ROYA TV PARTNERSHIP HALTED
Germany's foreign broadcaster also said it was stopping cooperation with one of its Middle Eastern partners, Jordan's Roya TV, after discovering that the station was spreading antisemitic comments and cartoons.
"We are truly sorry that we did not notice these disgusting images," DW's managing director in charge of distribution, Guido Baumhauer, said. "We will now even more critically review our partner selection internally, especially with regard to antisemitism and racism."
DW also said it regretted its previous assessment that Roya TV was not anti-Israel.
SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The investigation follows a report published on Tuesday by the German daily Suddeutsche Zeitung.
The paper reported that members of DW's Arabic service and a freelance trainer had posted antisemitic comments on social media as well as in other media outlets in recent years.
The remarks were posted on private social media accounts, with some posts later deleted.

He was released after the Cedar Revolution in 2005... has pledged that his party would confront any "bargain" aimed at restricting the work of Beirut port blast investigator Judge Tarek Bitar."As for what is being said about a bargain related to besieging Judge Bitar in parliament in agreement with the Free Patriotic Movement Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic... , in return for accepting the appeal against the electoral law, that would be a major crime against Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...a strong argument in favor of European colonialism, even French colonialism... , the Lebanese, the judiciary and the investigation," Geagea said in an interview with Kuwait’s al-Jarida newspaper.
"We will work on confronting it with all our strength and we will not allow it. We will study the decisions that will be taken should they decide to resort to this bargain," the LF leader added.
He separately noted that "Lebanon went through a lot of difficulties in the past but it managed to beat them" and that "Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... cannot control Lebanon, because the model it is presenting contradicts with the nature of the Lebanese."
"Information Minister George Kordahi’s resignation is the biggest example that no side can tolerate what Hizbullah wants, and in the end the party was obliged to offer concessions and submit," Geagea added, describing Kordahi’s exit as "a strong blow" to Hizbullah.
"This might push it to resort to security options due to its limited choices," Geagea went on to say, noting that "the crisis is bigger than this and is related to the policies of Lebanon as a state."
He added: "Kordahi’s resignation will not lead to resolving the crisis with the Gulf states, but it might open a door for discussions and dialogue for the sake of reaching a common ground with which everyone in Lebanon would be convinced, regarding the need to alter the political course and prevent Hizbullah from controlling the state and its decisions."
