Detroit (WWJ/AP) -- To say the turnout has been light would be an understatement in Wednesday's special election to fill the vacated seat of Congressman Thaddeus McCotter in Wayne County. Oh, noze! I hope nobody suppressed voter turnout!
John Custer was the first and only voter to cast a ballot in the first few hours of the election in Redford Township's precinct number five. What does he think about McCotter abandoning his office only a few months before the November election?
"I don't know what happened, but I think that it was irresponsible to just quit the way it was, instead of seeing that things were taken care of before he left," said Custer. "But I don't know what the reason was for sure."
Custer said he was very surprised and disappointed in the lack of participation in Wednesday's vote, especially since the special election is expected to cost the state $650,000.
"If it's needed it's good, but, for the cost, I think there should have been other ways of doing it. If they could have appointed somebody for the two months and then had the election in November ... his is costing a lot of money," Custer said.
By noon, precinct five had had a total of five voters.

[Real Clear Politics] A government transparency group is urging an investigation into Federal Aviation Administration managers who allegedly urged workers in Seattle to vote Democrat in the upcoming elections.
The Washington, D.C.-based group Cause of Action sent a letter Wednesday to the U.S. Department of Transportation's inspector general saying that in May at a mandatory staff meeting in Seattle, two senior FAA managers told employees that if Republicans win the presidential and congressional elections, the agency would face budget cuts. They allegedly said that if Democrats win, their budget would remain largely unchanged.
One of the managers is alleged to have said that "Republican politicians wished to cut the budget of the FAA, while Democratic politicians intended to keep the FAA budget at the same or similar levels as in recent years. Any cuts in the FAA budget would lead to furloughs, job losses, and pay reductions among FAA employees," the Cause of Action complaint said.
Employees at the meeting complained that the statements felt like a threat.
Cause of Action argues that the managers violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits certain federal employees from engaging in partisan politics at the workplace.
A FAA comment was not immediately available.
"These career employees were led to believe their jobs were at risk if their political support did not line up with the agenda of the Administration," said Daniel Epstein, executive director of the group.

That was in May. I'm sure it never happened again.
Besides, everyone knows the people don't really elect Republicans. They are all teleported in from Kamino.

Wonder how people [Donks and their sockpuppet MSM] would act if a general marched his troops to a formation and said if they didn't vote Trunk that they'd probably face significant cuts and jobs loses? /rhet question
#3
I'm sure defense-related employees (service & civilian & supply mfg) are fully aware their continued employment and pay expectations are better with a trunk administration. Likewise, most other government employees (& entitlement beneficiaries) are aware of their better prospects under a donk administration. The big boys (Wall Street etc.) hedge their bets by 'buying stock' in both trunk and donk administrations.
The sad thing is that the above groups now outnumber actual taxpayers.

The dues for this club are just killing me. Then I find out that the club treasurer has borrowed more money than the club could ever hope to repay, and handed that money out to some members of the club but not others. I don't like this club.

Bobby gets my vote for the morning.
+1 for #2 response.
[Free Beacon] South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley ...first woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley is the youngest current governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems... blasted Dick I don't want to buy the black vote. I just want to rent it for a day Harpootlian ...once and present chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party. Harpootlian is the man who, when he lost to a Publican in 1994, said The people have spoken. The bastards... , the top Democrat in her state, for comparing her to Adolf Hitler's ...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like... mistress, Eva Braun.
"He is an evil, little man," Haley said at a Wednesday afternoon presser at the Charlotte's NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Harpootlian, an outspoken leader of the South Carolina Democratic Party, made waves when he invoked the Nazis to describe Haley's appearance yesterday at a RNC presser.
"She was down in the bunker a la Eva Braun," Harpootlian told South Carolina delegates at the Democratic National Convention.
It was the third time Democrats have compared Republicans to Hitler's murderous regime since the convention opened on Monday. Leading delegates from Caliphornia and Kansas each likened Republican Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan ...U.S. Representative for Wisconsin's 1st congressional district, serving since 1999. He is a member of the Republican Party. He proposed an alternative to President B.O.'s 2011 budget and made himself the target of both Democrat and Republican verbal pies... to top Nazis Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels.

When you are as bereft of ideas and morally bankrupt as the Democrat party has become, I guess you resort to simian crap flinging.
By the way... which party is maintaining a cult of personality, a controlling goverment to which we all "belong", credits the state with creating everything, and is using "Forward!" (a Hitler Youth march)?
[NBC News] NBC News has learned that the Democratic Party will reinstate the language recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Republicans -- including the Romney campaign -- criticized President Obama and the Democrats after it was discovered this language had been omitted in the Democratic Party's platform This will all be changed on the floor today, NBC has learned, and it will probably mean just simply reinstating the 2008 language.
As this article says, it was quite a hoot. The voice vote FAILED three times, after which the chair of the convention, L.A.'s mayor Villaraigosa, declared it 'passed' in fine Chicago style. The response? Delegates booed; some at the motion, some at the way it was handled.
By the way, the word is Obama -- blanching at the loss of the Jewish vote -- ordered the wording back in, but had seen the language before the convention and thought it was okay. Our man Champ couldn't manage either a lemonade stand OR a high school student council properly.

It really does not matter. It is quite apparent what they feel about Both. Makes no sense to try to put it back in. I know all I need to know about them already.

Iff the US Mainstream didn't believe that the DemoLeft no longer represents theirs or American interests, they do now thanks to this brouhaha.
IIRC CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER = opined that the fact that the voice vote ocurred three times shows that this is NOT the Democratic Party of yesteryear, ee the Dems of our Parents or Grandparents generation.
The invitation of a Muslim delegation to the DNC should also not be underestimated - I think the DNC did as such, in part, was because IMO it would've been hypocritical or insensitive to invite Allah-fearing Muslims to the DNC where they would observe a Dem agendum devoid of any references to God, Faith, or Moralism-Ethics.

Okay, this is such an obvious example of the GOP being inside the Dem OODA loop that it's hardly worth mentioning.
BUT, there were two choices...1) come down on the Dem platform right away, as they did, 2) wait till after the convention and THEN blast them for it.
Which would have been better?
Personally I go with number 1 because it made the Dems complicit in the publication of the disaster. Waiting would have allowed the MSM to bury the whole thing.
