[FoxNews] Two Tampa police officers were injured early Saturday after a crowd of hundreds surrounded a group of officers in an "ambush," the Tampa police chief said.
Officers were responding to a report of shots fired and a possible gunshot victim at an intersection near the Ybor City neighborhood around 1 a.m., Chief Brian Duggan told reporters Monday. A crowd of hundreds was at the scene when police arrived.
As offices searched for a possible victim, Duggan said the hundreds of people blocked all four ends of the intersection and became aggressive. The crowd surrounded officers, threw bottles and glass, and jumped on a police vehicle. Officers could not locate a victim.
"It's an ambush. I have no other way to describe it,” Duggan said. “When there are that many people out there and clearly no one had been shot. It was just a set up to get the cops there."
One officer was hit in the head with an object and suffered a small laceration and swelling, police said. The officer was treated and released from the hospital. A second officer who was hit in the head with a glass bottle is also expected to be OK.
Aerial footage from the scene shows a crowd surrounding officers at an intersection and officials can be heard over audio saying that an officer had been struck with a bottle. At one point, a large group of the crowd can be seen running away down the street.
“There were hundreds of them,” Dugan said, referring to the crowd. “Hundreds. We actually ended up having to call every single police officer that was available that night to respond there, from New Tampa to South Tampa.”
Duggan said that over 100 officers responded to the scene. One person was arrested.
Responding to a question on department morale during this time of heightened anti-police sentiment, Duggan said the pressure currently on police officers is “incredible.”
“Just by doing your job, whether you’re right or wrong, it doesn’t matter right now,” he said. “No one is listening. Any justified action is getting twisted.”
[ToloNews] At least six coppers were killed and one was maimed in a Taliban ...Arabic for students... attack in northern Balkh province on Monday night, local officials said on Tuesday.
The attack took place in Peyazkar village in Chahar Bolak.
The Taliban attacked a security checkpoint and clashed with the security forces, said Munir Ahmad Farhad, a front man for the provincial governor.
"The festivities continued for more than three hours," Farhad said, adding: "The Taliban has also suffered casualties but there is no exact information yet."
However, if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... officials at Abu Ali Sina hospital in Balkh said, "seven bodies have been brought to the hospital and five others were maimed."
[ToloNews] Kapisa police said that unknown button men shot and killed Ahmad Shah, an appellate judge, on Tuesday.
Abdul Shayeq Shoresh, front man for the Kapisa Police said that the incident occurred 8:00 am in the morning when Shah was on his way to his office and was attacked by unknown button men in the "Afghanha" village of the PD1 area of the province.
Shoresh said that the perpetrators were riding a cycle of violence and fled the area.
Police are investigating the incident.
So far no group, including the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... , has grabbed credit.
On Monday five employees of the Attorney General's Office working in the Bagram justice and detention center were killed by gunnies on their way between Kabul and Bagram.
The incident prompted condemnation.
US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad in a tweet condemned the attack and called for an investigation to find the perpetrators.
He said it was the work of "spoilers," trying to delay and disrupt the grinding of the peace processor, as the legal team targeted was working on the prisoner swap--a part of the grinding of the peace processor.
Khalilzad also called on both sides to not be deterred and to take the steps necessary to reach intra-Afghan negotiations, "where a comprehensive ceasefire and a political settlement can be negotiated as quickly as possible."
President Ghani in a statement condemned yesterday attack on AGO’s employees and called the attack a crime against human and Islamic values. Ghani also said that the Taliban must stop violence and accept the will of the Afghan government and people to end the war and bring lasting peace.
[KhaamaPress] The Afghan forces killed or maimed at least 9 Talibs during separate festivities in North-eastern Kapisa province of Afghanistan.

The statement further added that the Talibs attacked the security forces during clearance operations which the security forces launched in response to repeated attacks of the holy warriors on public uprising forces.
According to 201st Silab Corps, the security forces killed 6 Talibs and maimed at least 3 others during the festivities.
The Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... group has not commented regarding the festivities so far.
[KhaamaPress] The government of India strongly reacted to the abduction of a Sikh Afghan community leader by the Death Eaters in South-eastern Paktiya province of Afghanistan.
Anurag Srivastava, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs of India told news hounds Tuesday "We strongly condemn the abduction of Mr Nedan Singh, a leader of the Hindu and Sikh community of Afghanistan by terrorists."
He also added "The targeting and persecution of minority community members by gunnies at the behest of their external supporters is a matter of grave concern."
Without elaborating further regarding his claims regarding the external supporters of the terrorist in Afghanistan, Srivastava said "India is in touch with the government of Afghanistan for ensuring the safety, security and well-being of the minority community in Afghanistan. We hope that the government of Afghanistan would be able to secure safe and early release of Mr Nedan Singh."
No individual or group has so far grabbed credit for the incident.
This comes as Death Eaters killed at least 30 members of the Sikh minority community in Afghanistan during an attack in Kabul late in March.

[FoxNews] Hundreds of troops with the Washington, D.C., National Guard have mobilized to protect monuments in the nation's capital, a Pentagon spokesperson has confirmed.
Interior Secretary David Bernhardt requested the action earlier this week, as protesters target statues and other historical markers during ongoing demonstrations in the wake of George Floyd's police custody death in Minneapolis at the end of May.
The Pentagon confirmed that roughly 400 D.C. Guard members have been activated and are on standby.
"Since their activation, none of the National Guard members have been dispatched to actual monument locations to provide assistance to the NPP," Pentagon spokesperson Lt. Col. Christian Mitchell said in a statement. "They remain on standby at the DC Armory at this time. They will support U.S. Park Police at key monuments to prevent any defacing or destruction."
Mitchell noted that the National Guard members are unarmed and "will serve as a uniformed deterrence" and in a "crowd management capacity."
That seems improvident...
Protesters on Monday attempted to tear down a statue of Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square by the White House, and defaced it with the phrase "killer scum," Reuters reported. Bernhardt said afterward that he visited Lafayette Square and witnessed the destruction. He said the country “will not bow to anarchists," and that "law and order will prevail, and justice will be served.”
The Lincoln Memorial and WWII Memorial were also defaced in earlier protests.
During a protest on Tuesday that took place in front of D.C.'s Emancipation Memorial, one demonstrator announced that on Thursday they would tear down the memorial's statue of Abraham Lincoln standing over a freed slave.
President Trump warned Tuesday morning that anyone caught vandalizing monuments or any other federal property would be subject to arrest and face up to 10 years in prison under federal law.
D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, meanwhile, announced a more formal measure against the Emancipation Memorial, stating that she will introduce a bill calling for the statue to be removed from its home in Lincoln Park and placed in a museum.
"Although formerly enslaved Americans paid for this statue to be built in 1876, the design and sculpting process was done without their input, and it shows," Holmes Norton said in a statement. "The statue fails to note in any way how enslaved African Americans pushed for their own emancipation. Understandably, they were only recently liberated from slavery and were grateful for any recognition of their freedom." She noted that at the statue's unveiling, keynote speaker Frederick Douglass "expressed his displeasure" with it.

You don't need hundreds unless you are just playing make believe police action.
Heck about 75 licensed militia with authority to shot to kill could wrap this up rather quickly. Don't get close to them. Leave them alone. You'll have no problem. Play stupid lower primate games, get bagged.

Seems to me you just do what is done at college football stadiums to prevent the goal posts from being torn down: grease that sucker up real good (teflon spray and skunk essence, perhaps)

Interesting these bums have steered clear of Arlington and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I guess the people orchestrating this know that would be bad PR in a big way. I also haven't heard of any activities at any of the other National Cemeteries or any of the major Civil War battlefields. Too much out in the open for a quick getaway.

Dunno about their concern for optics. They're threatening to tear down the Emancipation Memorial, funded by donations from freed slaves, featuring a statue of an actual freed slave, and site of a speech by Frederick Douglas on its premier.
I suspect they're afraid of the Tomb of the Unknown because it has armed guards.

How is The Wall holding up? Have not heard anything about it being attacked.
I believe antifa is planning something at Gettysburg.

We could take up a collection to give the guard some rusty bayonets, machetes covered in questionable substances and some good old Zulu Assegai for some good old hippy sticking.

Stupid stupid stupid. Give the Guard guys a chance. Rifles, ammo, bayonets, body armor, laser goggles for EVERYONE. Good Lord. Give one in three grenade launchers with beanbags. Great deterrent, even through body armor. If the commies still close on the Guard, shoot them, and in the unspoken (mostly sorta except for TW, bless her) but maybe actual Rantburg rulz, aim for the feet. No killing Americans (commies but whatever) just fuck up the rest of their lives. Forever. They deserve it. I have had it.

1 in 6 BLM protesters are black, Pew Research.
[FOXNEWS] Armed protesters stood guard on Tuesday at an Atlanta-area Wendy's, the site where Rayshard Brooks, a black man shot twice in the back by an Atlanta police officer, died earlier this month.
Earlier in the day, a group of people had "taken over" the burned-out property in South Atlanta, according to local reports.
People living in the area also have complained that the protesters who remained were no longer peaceful, but instead were using the space for their own gain and at times blocking people on the street from getting by.

So. A place where maybe some POCs were employed, certainly a place that paid business taxes to the city, county and state (some of which went back out as welfare bennies) is now an empty lot. Lather-rinse-repeat until there is no wealth left to spread around. Yeah, that's the ticket...

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Ottoman Turkish court sentenced a former mayor of a Kurdish city and opposition member to 16 years in jail for being a member of terrorist group, "abusing of power," and "inciting hatred and violence," in what is The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... ’s latest crackdown on pro-Kurdish parties.
Kaya, who was arrested in January 2017, is a member of the People’s Democratic Party, or HDP, which has been accused by the Ottoman Turkish government of having links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
The 16-year sentence against the former mayor is "illegal and unlawful," the HDP’s head of legal affairs and human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... Omid Dada told Al Arabiya.
"All charges against her are fabricated and our party is subject of political genocide," he added.
"We reject such politicized rulings, and we confirm that the ruling was based on incorrect and false evidence provided by a Ottoman Turkish special forces officer named Onal Oyar, who is currently being held on charges of torture and corruption," Dada said.
Turkey has arrested 93 heads of Kurdish municipalities who won the local elections in 2014, out of which 83 were dismissed from their posts, according to Dada.

[AlAhram] Syrian air defences responded to Israeli strikes on the air space of the southeastern part of the country near the city of Sweida and in the eastern province of Deir al Zor bordering Iraq that left two soldiers dead, the Syrian army said on Tuesday. "We obliterated their contrails"
An army statement said several attacks occurred simultaneously, one at a military outpost in Kabajib, east of Deir Zor province and in the vicinity of the town of Sukhna in the nearby eastern desert.
A third strike hit a military installation farther south in the town of Salkhad, near the southern city of Sweida, that left two soldiers dead and four injured.
The bases are located in zones in eastern and southern Syria which Israel had hit in recent months and which are believed to have a strong presence of Iranian-backed militias.
The Israeli occupation army declined to comment.
Regional intelligence sources say Israel’s strikes on Syria are part of a shadow war approved by Washington and part of the anti-Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... policy that has undermined in the last two years Iran’s extensive military power without triggering a major increase in hostilities.
Israel has acknowledged conducting many raids inside Syria since the start of the civil war in 2011 where it sees Iran’s presence as a strategic threat.
Israeli defence officials have said in recent weeks that their country would step up its campaign against Iran in Syria where, with the help of its proxy militias, Tehran has expanded its presence.
