Between 2013 and 2017, France surpassed the United States as the top provider of arms to Egypt, providing almost 4 billion euros in supplies. This shift reflects major sales by France, including a deal to deliver 24 Rafale jets in 2015. Between 2013 and 2017, several European countries—most notably France and Germany, along with Russia—have provided Egypt with over $4.2 billion in arms sales.

Paramount Group, South Africa’s leading military equipment company, is likely to probe Jordan after photos of South Africa-made armored Mbombe 6 emerged in the fighting for the control of Libyan capital Tripoli by east-based armed forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar.

Haftar is backed by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and France.

Responding to press reports, the South African industrial company denied selling arms to any side in the North African country, Libya Express reports.

The Grand Turk
Turkish court upholds conviction of Istanbul opposition leader
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Ottoman Turkish appeals court on Tuesday confirmed a jail sentence given to the head of the main opposition party in Istanbul on a range of charges including "terrorist propaganda" and insulting the president.

Last year, Canan Kaftancioglu of the secular Republican People’s Party (CHP) was sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison on charges related mostly to tweets posted between 2012 and 2017.

The court in Istanbul on Tuesday upheld her jail sentence, the official Anadolu news agency reported.

A CHP source confirmed the ruling to AFP and said the party would apply to the supreme court of appeals within two weeks to seek to reverse it.

The top court is due to deliver a verdict within a year.

Kaftancioglu, a doctor by profession, played a key role in the shock victory of the CHP’s Istanbul mayor Ekrem Imamoglu in June last year.

Home Front: WoT
Appeals court rules Trump can expand expedited deportation policies
[UPI] A federal appeals court on Tuesday ruled that the Trump administration can move forward with a measure to more quickly deport undocumented immigrants colonists although it faces legal challenges.

The District of Columbia U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a preliminary injunction blocking the administration from expanding the Department of Homeland Security's ability to conduct expedited removals.

The three-judge panel ruled 2-1 that a group of non-profits had legal standing to bring a lawsuit challenging the action but immigration law that grants broad authority to the Department of Homeland Security would make the case unlikely to succeed.

"There could hardly be a more definitive expression of congressional intent to leave the decision about the scope of expedited removal, within statutory bounds, to the Secretary's independent judgment," Judge Patricia Millett wrote.

Lawyer Files Complaint Accusing Hizbullah with Tax Evasion
[AnNahar] A lawyer filed a complaint with the Financial Prosecution against Hizbullah

accusing the party of tax evasion, media reports said on Tuesday.

Lawyer Majd Harb, filed the complaint against Hizbullah, in a first against the party, on charges of "tax evasion, customs evasion and money laundering, thus depriving the Lebanese state of hundreds of millions of dollars."

"Hizbullah’s annual budget amounts to one billion dollars according to a global report, which Hizbullah itself did not deny. Five hundred million of which are paid as salaries and compensation, which must be taxed as part of taxes on salaries. Income tax must also be paid by employees. The Lebanese State has seen no tax paid by Hizbullah in that regard," Harb told al-Hadath TV channel.

On accusations of tax evasion, he said that Iran

The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. Shiite holy man Sayyed Ali al-Amin for "meeting Israeli officials in Bahrain" and a host of other charges, the National News Agency said.

The prosecution’s move is based on a lawsuit filed by the lawyer Ghassan al-Mawla on behalf of Nabih Awada, Khalil Nasrallah, Shawqi Awada and Hussein al-Dirani.

The initial lawsuit accuses al-Amin of "meeting Israeli officials in Bahrain, attacking the resistance and its deaders on permanent basis, inciting strife between sects, sowing discord and sedition, and violating the Sharia laws of the Jaafari sect."

Iranian Defense Minister claims that enemies are ‘frightened’ by Iran’s missiles
[ALMASDARNEWS] In a statement this weekend, the Iranian Ministry of Defense, Amir Hatami, said that the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s missile arsenal frightens their enemies.

According to the Iranian Tasnim Agency, Hatami said, "on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of the martyr Jamran, we will continue his approach."

He said, "Today, thanks to the valuable guidance of the late Imam Khomeini and the leadership and direction of Khamenei, the summit of development and self-reliance has arrived, so that today, by relying on national science and technologies, we can meet the needs of the armed forces in all areas of combat, land, air, sea, missile, electronic, and radar, in proportion to potential threats. The enemy, which today is afraid of our defense capabilities and our lack of dependence on the outside, especially in the missile field. "

Hatami said that "the country today, in light of facing various conspiracies and intrigues , needs cohesion and national unity, avoiding differences and adhering to resistance, and perseverance in the face of enemy attacks."

He added that Iran

Fugitive Iran judge Mansouri died after collision with hard surface
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] An Iranian runaway judge who was found dead in a hotel in the Romanian capital Bucharest last week died of injuries from colliding with a hard surface, possibly during a fall, autopsy results have shown.
Something like a pavement, they mean.
Gholamreza Mansouri, who was accused of corruption in Tehran and of human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
violations by activists, was found dead at the hotel he was staying at in Bucharest on Friday after falling from a height.
"What height?"
"His balconey."

Mansouri’s death was "violent and caused by traumatic injuries incompatible with life produced by hitting a hard surface, possibly during a fall," according to preliminary conclusions obtained from a forensic autopsy, the Bucharest prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday.
That's about the result expected, since they had to scrape him up.
The prosecutor’s office said it has requested a judge’s authorization to review the hotel’s security cameras’ footage.
"Yup. There he went. See it?"
"No. It was too fast for me."

Several hotel staff members have also been interrogated, it said.

Mansouri, who fled Iran
