CrossFit founder ousted after backlash over tweet on George Floyd
[IsraelTines] The founder and CEO of CrossFit is stepping down after his tweet about George Floyd sparked a social media backlash and a wave of affiliated gyms cut ties with the company. Some 1,250 gyms have now severed links with CrossFit, according to industry blog Morning Chalk Up. An anonymously curated Google spreadsheet lists hundreds of CrossFit affiliates with links to their social media accounts, with most saying they have cut ties, or are considering doing so.
Reebok also dropped its affiliation with CrossFit this week.
Greg Glassman says on CrossFit Inc.’s website late Tuesday that he will retire. Glassman had apologized earlier for tweets that sparked online outrage by connecting Floyd, an African American man who died at the hands of the Minneapolis police, and the coronavirus pandemic in a tweet. He says he had made a mistake and should have been more sensitive, but denied being racist.
Glassman’s exit may have been sealed after BuzzFeed posted a Zoom call he held with some CrossFit affiliates in which Glassman reportedly said: “We’re not mourning for George Floyd — I don’t think me or any of my staff are.” Buzzfeed said it received the recording through its anonymous tip line.
The Zoom call took place hours before Glassman made a glib response on Twitter to a post by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, a health research group, which said, “Racism is a public health issue.”
“ It’s FLOYD-19,” he replied Saturday, and in a second tweet criticized the group’s “failed” quarantine model and accused it of attempting to “model a solution to racism.”

Despite the mass looting and violence by the left Chris Wray’s FBI sent out a memo warning white supremacists pose the greatest risk of violence.
What a disgrace.
Agreed, a huge disgrace. Unless Wray is a head fake, he has shown his arse once again as a deep state apparatchick. I would imagine both Trump and Barr have him in their sights to take care of this as soon as possible (after the election). In the meantime, all efforts should go into re-election of Trump, taking the House and keeping the Senate.

I didn't bother posting it last night but twitter posted about a bee keeper in Janesville Wisconsin that cops stopped from releasing a trailer full of beehives on a protest...
[WeaselZippers] A black community activist who trained San Jose police recruits on implicit bias for three years was shot in a testicle by a rubber bullet during a recent protest,
...what an interesting experience he’s had. Definitely an accident — after three years of training together, they must simply love him...
prompting the city’s mayor to say that more needs to be done to confront police brutality — but that defunding police will only undermine those efforts.
Derrick Sanderlin, a 27-year-old community organizer, suffered potentially permanent injuries by a rubber bullet at a May 29 protest demonstration, the mayor’s office said in a press release Monday.
Sanderlin, who knows San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia personally, said he was disheartened to see how officers were treating protesters. Video captured by KABC-TV’s news helicopter overhead purportedly showed the moments an officer fired a riot gun at Sanderlin, who had approached with his hands up.

Once upon a time, when there were foreign correspondents working for a dozen American newspapers, curious journalists would hotfoot it to the world's hellholes to tell an ignorant world what combatants were up to. Today there are few foreign correspondents and still fewer curious journalists, but there are still lots of hellholes and combatants.
You can't play the Libya game without a scorecard, but it seems no one is publishing scorecards.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stressed Ankara’s rejection of the "Cairo Declaration" for a settlement in Libya, describing it as an attempt to save Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly... after the losses he suffered on the battlefield.
"The endeavor for a declared ceasefire in Cairo is dead in its infancy. If a ceasefire is to be signed, it should be across a platform that brings all the parties together," he told the Hurriyet newspaper on Wednesday.
"We do not see the call for a ceasefire to save Haftar as pure or we can believe it," he continued.
He stressed that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor... will continue to hold talks with all parties concerned to reach a solution in Libya, stressing that this solution requires the consent of both parties.
Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important... and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... discussed the situation in Libya during a phone call on Monday.
Erdogan said they had agreed on "some issues" related to Libya, and that the Government of National Accord would continue to fight to wrest control of the coastal city of Sirte and the Jafra Airbase, which is further away to the south.

Remember when they (and pal McCain) rejected Russian peace initiative because it saved Assad?
[AnNahar] The Saudi ambassador was summoned to the Danish foreign ministry on Wednesday after terrorism charges were laid against three leaders of an Iranian Arab separatist group based in Denmark.
They are suspected of having received funds from Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... Danish police said they were prosecuting "three people for financing and promoting terrorism in Iran, including in collaboration with a Saudi intelligence service".
"We will not accept such activities under any circumstances and our ambassador in Riyadh has repeated the same message directly to the Saudi authorities," Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod said in a statement, in which he deplored "new very serious charges."
The trio, all living in Denmark and members of ASMLA (Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz), have been facing prosecution since February for spying for Saudi intelligence.
According to Danish intelligence service PET, they worked for Riyadh between 2012 and 2018.
They are also alleged to have been the target of a planned attack on Danish soil in the autumn of 2018 which Copenhagen believes was sponsored by the Iranian regime in retaliation for the killing of 24 people in Ahvaz, southwestern Iran, in September 2018.
Tehran has formally denied the attack plan in Denmark.
Shia Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... regularly accuses Saudi Arabia as well as the United States and Israel of supporting the separatist groups.
Sunni Saudi Arabia is the Islamic Theocratic Republic's main rival in the Middle East.
"It is completely unacceptable that foreign countries and their intelligence services bring their conflicts to Denmark and that Denmark is used as a starting point to finance and support terrorism," said PET director Finn Borch Andersen in a statement.
ASMLA is based in Denmark and the Netherlands, according to the Dutch authorities.

[Fox News] Iran appears to have built a fake aircraft carrier off its southern coast for potential live-fire drills amid ongoing tensions with the U.S., satellite images showed Tuesday. "By Allan, we will destroy our plywood replica!"
The apparent mock-up resembles the Nimitz-class carriers that the U.S. Navy routinely sails into the Persian Gulf from the Strait of Hormuz, where 20 percent of all the world's oil passes through.
While not yet acknowledged by Iranian officials, the replica's appearance suggests Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard is preparing an encore of a similar mock-sinking it conducted in 2015.
The replica's appearance comes as Iran announced Tuesday it will execute a man it accused of sharing details on the movements of the Guard's Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S.-authorized drone strike in Baghdad earlier this year.
The replica carries 16 mock-ups of fighter jets on its deck, according to satellite photos taken by Maxar Technologies. The vessel appears to be some 650 feet long and 160 feet wide.
The mock-up, which defense and intelligence analysts first noticed in January, resembles a similar one used in February 2015 during a military exercise called "Great Prophet 9." During that drill, Iran swarmed the fake aircraft carrier with speedboats firing machine guns and rockets. Surface-to-sea missiles later targeted and destroyed the fake carrier.

And here I was thinking this story was going to be about how Iran would be claiming they had built an aircraft carrier. Oh well, maybe next month.

"During that drill, Iran swarmed the fake aircraft carrier with speedboats firing machine guns and rockets"
1. All the machine guns in Iran wouldn't do anything to a carrier other than chip the paint.
2. Carriers never travel alone. They are surrounded by cruisers and destroyers who would leave the speed boats as a pile of floating splinters.
3. The first time an Iranian vessel fires on an American warship, all of Iran's naval ports disappear in a cloud of smoke.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Paleostinian-led Jerusalem Brigade (Liwaa al-Quds ...the Jerusalem Brigade is a Paleostinian-Syrian pro-Government group that operates in Aleppo, formed in 2013. The group is composed of predominately Sunni Paleostinians from the al-Nayrab district as well as the former refugee camp Handarat. It is believed to be the largest Assadist auxilliary force operating in storied Aleppo.... ) has been conducting a wide-scale combing operation against the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) in the vast Syrian desert region recently.
Backed by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the Jerusalem Brigade has been eliminating Islamic State hideouts and dens, while also clearing areas believed to harbor Islamic State sleeper cells in the Badiya al-Sham region between the governorates of Homs, Damascus, and Deir Ezzor.
Thus far, the operation has proven successful, as the Jerusalem Brigade has forced the Islamic State turbans to either surrender themselves, fight, or flee further into this vast desert region.
In a video released by the Paleostinian-led group this week, they can be seen blowing up ISIS bases and attacking the terrorist group throughout the Badiya al-Sham region.
