Dunno about hot smoking trout. Salmon...absolutely. We call it "smoasted" out here in the West Coast. Trout? Too delicate. Hell I do a super low temp smoke on trout going on close to 10 hrs. If I want fish jerky, I'll make it but I don't like fish jerky so there ya go.

Never caught a trout, brown or otherwise (saltwater speckled trout excluded) or smoked a fish of any kind - what is the problem with smoking brown trout?
[Washington Examiner] In March, the U.S. economy created an astounding 916,000 new jobs on net, according to the latest report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This stunning number, combined with a national unemployment rate of just 6%, indicates a continuation of the rapid recovery from the coronavirus pandemic that began last fall.
The Labor Department’s state data, released late last month, shows that the recovery has not been even. The unemployment rates in California, Hawaii, New York, and Connecticut are all above 8%, even as the rates in Utah, Nebraska, Idaho, and a number of other red states are below 4%. The rate in South Dakota, where the coronavirus policy has been criticized for its supposed laxity, is just 2.9%.
The obviously geographically uneven nature of the economic recovery provides a powerful testimony to what is really going on in the national economy right now. The national numbers are as good as they are in spite of Democratic governors’ stubborn determination to keep their states’ economies closed out of irrational fear. Even as vaccination and improved COVID-19 treatments are making the virus less of a threat than it ever was, they persist in their folly.
Yet without question, the strong economic numbers raise and confirm another important point. The U.S. economy is recovering rapidly. Even if payments to businesses were justified in exchange for the government forcing them to remain closed, it is clear at this point that further economic stimulus is not necessary. The economy is bringing back lost jobs at a rapid pace and needs no help from President Joe Biden or others who once claimed they could make it "build back better."
[ET via Charley Kirk] Major League Baseball (MLB) expanded its contract with a Chinese telecommunications company just after it boycotted the state of Georgia over its election reform law.
The Epoch Times reports:
Chinese state media reported on April 1 that the MLB will continue to be aired on the streaming platform operated by Chinese tech giant Tencent, which has significant ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Tencent is of the Chinese companies that had temporarily dropped NBA games as a form of censorship after former Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey spoke out in support of the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.
On April 2, the day after the announcement of the Chinese deal, the MLB moved its annual All-Star game out of Atlanta, Georgia, in response to a set of election reforms signed by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp last month. MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred said in a statement that the move would "demonstrate our values as a sport."
The MLB did not respond to the Epoch Times email in which they asked the organization to confirm the Chinese deal and ask why it would do business with a country which has been recognized by the U.S. as carrying out genocide against Uyghur Muslims.
Sen. Marco Rubio blasted the MLB over its hypocrisy on Twitter, writing, "Dear GOP:
@MLB caves to pressure & moves draft & #AllStarGame out of Georgia on the same week they announce a deal with a company backed by the genocidal Communist Party of #China. Why are we still listening to these woke corporate hypocrites on taxes, regulations & anti-trust?"

Seems to be a focused attack on Georgia now - the two biggest corporations that have yielded to wokeness are both Atlanta-based (IIRC) -Delta and Coca Cola. Their 'awakening' must NOT be allowed to fail.

Georgia Dims are catching a lot of heat from their own constituents and are back tracking.
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.—Democrats have proposed a controversial new law that would require vaccine passports for voting. The bill currently under deliberation in Congress would ban all forms of ID for voting -- because that's racist -- but require voters to show their COVID-19 vaccine passport at polling places.
Republicans and Democrats alike were confused by the proposal, not sure if they agreed with it or not. "I like requiring people to show documentation to vote, but not like this, I don't think," said one Republican man in Georgia. "I'll have to think about it."
"No one should have to show documentation to vote," said a liberal woman in Georgia. "Except, well, yeah, vaccination papers, I guess."
"We must make sure the people who are voting are fully vaccinated against this incredibly deadly virus," said Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. "They must wear full face masks, and of course, won't be asked to show ID. We won't know who they are, but we will know they are safe from COVID-19."
"This is much better than that racist law in Georgia."
At publishing time, Pelosi had admitted she hadn't actually read Georgia's election law, but declared that "we have to overturn it to find out what was in it."

[ZH] We have previously discussed the controversial history of Marc Elias, including allegations that he lied about the funding of Steele Dossier by the Clinton campaign. Elias has also been criticized for challenging elections when he and other Democratic lawyers denounced Republican challenges as a threat to democracy. Now, Elias (who is heading a new group called "Democracy Dookie Docket") is again under intense criticism after a tweet that some have called inherently racist.
Democrats have used the recent Georgia election law as a rallying cry for federalizing elections by labelling the law, as described by President Biden, "Jim Crow on steroids." Biden has been repeatedly called out for demonstrably false statements about the law. Elias has been arguing that the law is a barrier for black and minority voters. He is being denounced for a tweet where he suggested that Georgia voters could not be expected to be able to read their driver’s licenses correctly — a statement that seemed to refer to minority voters who would be disproportionately impacted by such a requirement.
Elias tries to explain by the new law is such a barrier to voting by noting that "The new Georgia law will require voters to submit ID to vote by mail. If they use their driver’s license, they need to provide the #. One of the two numbers below is correct. If they put the other, it will be rejected."
He then includes an image of a Georgia driver’s license with two separate numbers highlights and asks "Are you sure you would pick the right one?"
Elias is suggesting that the numbers will be hopelessly confusing and thus effectively bar black voters from participating in elections.
Polls show that 72 percent of American adults approve of requiring photo identification to vote, but they have not faced with the daunting challenge of finding the driver’s license number.
If voters cannot deduce that the "DL" number refers to "Driver’s License" number, the form itself would make this obvious by only have boxes for nine numbers as well as instructions on where to find the number. There should be a concern for how errors are addressed in such systems, including the use of provisional votes or other means to address errors in writing down such numbers. Mistakes can occur that the system should allow for notice and corrections to be made....
Whatever the arguments against verified voting, insulting the intelligence of minority voters is not likely the best option.
As Curt Schilling tweeted: "Once again the left exposes its bigotry of minorities with their "too stupid to know better" set of low expectations. There is NO OTHER lengthy number and what on earth does the DL# stand for other than Drivers License #? Stop thinking anyone not white is dumber than you are."
