We have a harvest season out here in Ag Land, many people hire what are called Custom Cutters. Basically, a land owner subs out the harvest cutting, usually wheat or such.

Many times they have employees who are from other Ag Centric Cultures: Saskatchewan/Manitoba, Australia, South Africa - it's like a 'Gap Year', as USA calls it, but instead of jet setting party destinations they go do a harvest working from South Texas to North as crops ripen.

Every single South Africa Euro Descendant youngster who have came through, that I've met, were polite, spoke well English, and built like a wire suspension bridge.
