#1 Why is this a federal crime? It crossed no state boundaries. It's an example of assuming authority and power that eats up resources best reserved elsewhere.

#3 ..I understand that, but if it doesn't cross state lines there is no reason that the feds should ever be involved. It's another example of ignoring the 10th Amendment, its a state's responsibility.

#5 Why is this a federal crime?
Because, using typical government 'logic' the gas in the car had been Federally taxed...?

#6  Why is this a federal crime?

Because a member of the nomenklatura was a victim. If it was Joe Citizen, it would not even be news.

Is it wrong to still be laughing at this?

#8 Josiah Brown, 19, is facing federal charges for the carjacking in Philadelphia.

Brown, from the president's home town of Wilmington, Delaware

Three of the other teen carjackers ... were all charged in Delaware

Clearly they crossed state lines to commit the premeditated act. That makes it Federal.

#9 Delaware is a state now? I must keep up!

#10 If i read the summary of the carjacking statute correctly, every carjacking could be charged federally. Massive overreach of federal power given the forgotten 10th amendment. But since I never heard of such a charge before in federal court this is clearly an example of selective prosecution for one of the special elites in our ruling class. Equity is far different than equality for our emerging aristocratic peers.
