#7 I spent many years as a system auditor examining software to make sure it would do what they said.

It took me 2 minutes looking at the code that "snuck" out of UEA in the "climate gate" incident, even though my Fortran was very rusty, to identify 3 blatant gotchas that would have to get serious consideration professionally.

I don't trust or believe any of them.

#9 Alan, I remember that post and comment thread. My Fortran is pretty good, and if I recall, the basis for the hockey stick graph was embedded in a data statement for the input variable.

I've told people that for years now, and they don't believe it. Do you remember the date of that, so I can go back and find the source.
