Three foreign nationals shot dead after abduction from Kabul city
[KhaamaPress] At least three people hailing from foreign countries were rubbed out shortly after they were kidnapped from Kabul city.

The security sources are saying that the foreigners were kidnapped from the vicinity of the 9th police district of the city.

The sources further added that the dead bodies of the foreign nationals were recovered from Musahi district of Kabul.

According to the officials, the foreigners are hailing from India, Malaysia, and Macedonia, who were rubbed out after kidnapping from the city. Officials in the Criminal Investigation Department of Kabul also confirmed the kidnapping and murder of the three foreign nationals.

No individual or group has so far grabbed credit behind the incident.

This is not the first time foreign nationals, including women, have been kidnapped in Kabul city but numerous such incidents have taken place the past as well. The Talibs group often claim responsibility behind the abduction although some of the kidnappings are done for ransom by criminal gangs.
An Nahar adds:
The victims, all worked for a logistics company in Kabul, a front man for the interior ministry said.

"At this stage we think it is a terrorist incident," police front man Hashmat Stanikzai told AFP.

The incident happened after the group left their office with a car and driver Thursday. Just over an hour later their bodies were found in what appeared to be a different car by authorities in the rural outskirts of Kabul.

"They had been shot inside the car," said Bahar Mehr with the interior ministry.

Another front man with the ministry said the car's driver was being questioned by police and treated as a possible suspect.

He added that all three had been handcuffed and shot, with two of the bodies later placed in the trunk of the car.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
U.S. volunteers battle the flames in Israel
[Jpost] Inspired by their global bonds of brotherhood, a group of 10 American firemen recently flew to Israel to fight ongoing fires in the South, a firefighter from Baltimore told The Jerusalem Post, while on standby at the Sderot fire station Wednesday.

"We, as firefighters, like to think of ourselves as committed to an international brotherhood and sisterhood, and there is so much going on here in Israel that we feel really compelled to help however we can," said Dr. Jeffrey Ellenbogen, a physician and volunteer firefighter.

The group of volunteer firefighters, who hail from a variety of states, took vacation from their jobs to help lighten the burden on Israeli fire and emergency services, which have been strained to put out blazes caused by incendiary kites, balloons and condoms launched from the Gaza Strip for the past four months.

Firefighters tackle over a dozen arson blazes in Gaza border region
[IsraelTimes] Firefighters worked throughout Thursday to extinguish 13 blazes caused by incendiary balloons landing in Israeli communities near the Gazoo Strip, a front man for the Israeli Fire and Rescue Authority said.

For over three months there have been near-weekly violent border protests organized by Gazoo’s Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, rulers. In addition to the airborne incendiaries, deadly festivities along the Israeli-Gazook border have seen Israeli security forces facing gunfire, grenades, Molotov cocktails, and efforts ‐ sometimes successful ‐ to damage or penetrate the border fence. An Egyptian-brokered informal ceasefire has so far prevented the tense situation from escalating into all-out war, but has not ended the arson attacks.

On Sunday the security cabinet will reportedly discuss a truce proposal being brokered by United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
envoy for Middle East peace Nickolay Mladenov, who has met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and Hamas leaders in the Gazoo Strip.

Mladenov’s proposal envisions Israel removing recent restrictions on the Kerem Shalom crossing for goods into Gazoo, and both sides agreeing to a ceasefire which would include the cessation of airborne arson attacks, according to recent Egyptian media reports.

The envoy has been shuttling between regional leaders in an effort to defuse the situation before explodes into full conflict. His proposal for calming tensions has reportedly been worked out in cooperation with Egypt and other Arab states.

Southeast Asia
Philippines nabs cleric over Basilan bomb
[Reuters] The Philippine military said on Thursday it has arrested a Muslim cleric who knew in advance about a bomb that killed 11 people on Basilan island in an attack earlier this week that raised fears of Islamic State involvement.

Acting on a tip off, rangers raided the home of Indalin Jainul, alias Ustadz Abdulgani, 12 hours after Tuesday's bombing in Lamitan town. Informants told the army that the cleric knew the bomb would go off and had been helping foreign operatives reach Basilan from Malaysia. A grenade was found at his home.

Jainul is charged with multiple murder and illegal possession of explosives. His family protested what they called trumped-up charges.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack which killed five militias, a soldier, and four civilians, including a child, calling it a "martyrdom operation". The driver of a van carrying the device also died. He was believed to have detonated the device when questioned at the checkpoint.

Defense officials dismissed the Islamic State claim as propaganda, with Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana describing the claim as "just speculation".

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Russia to deploy military police on Golan Heights
[Reuters] Russia will deploy its military police on the Golan Heights frontier between Syria and Israel, its defense ministry said on Thursday, after weeks of mounting volatility in the area.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s sweeping away of rebels in southwestern Syria has worried Israel, which believes it could allow his Iranian backers to entrench their troops close to the frontier.

Underlining the tensions, Israel killed seven militants in an overnight air strike on the Syrian-held part of the Golan Heights, Israeli radio said on Thursday.

Sergei Rudskoi, a senior Russian defense ministry official, said that Russian military police had on Thursday begun patrolling in the Golan Heights and planned to set up eight observation posts in the area.

He said the Russian presence there was in support of United Nations peacekeepers on the Golan Heights who, he said, had suspended their activities in the area in 2012 because their safety was endangered.

State Dept. Reconsidering $850M Contract for IED, Bomb Removal
[Free Beacon] The State Department is reconsidering an $850 million contract award for IED and bomb removal in hot spots around the world after a previous agency grant to the same company received new scrutiny just weeks into Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's tenure.

The State Department's Political-Military, Weapons Abatement (PMWRA) Office awarded the lucrative bomb-removal contract in May to Tetra Tech, an engineering services company that has a more limited history in munitions and ordnance clearance than several other companies and NGOs the U.S. government has worked with previously.

The contract would have made Tetra Tech the only commercial entity responsible for U.S. taxpayer-funded IED and other bomb clean-up efforts around the world.

The bomb-removal work is extremely dangerous but critically important for communities displaced by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, which left IED booby traps intended to maim or kill returning families or government workers.

Syria claims to down ‘hostile target' during airstrike near Damascus
[IsraelTimes] Loud kabooms reported west of Syrian capital, where Israel has reportedly attacked an Iranian base in the past.

Syria said late Thursday that its air defenses destroyed an unspecified enemy target during an attempted Arclight airstrike west of Damascus, as residents reported a series of loud kabooms around the Syrian capital.

The statement, published in official state media Sana, said Syrian air defenses "engaged a hostile target and destroyed it," but gave no further details.

The pro-government al-Masdar news service said that air defenses fired several missiles to fend off an attack near the el-Kisweh region and that it was not clear if the Syrian missiles were fired at an aircraft, drone or incoming rockets.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that a "missile attack hit regime and pro-regime forces positions west of Damascus" without being able to identify the side responsible.

Israel has been blamed for previous attacks on a suspected Iranian military base in the el-Kisweh area. An attack in May killed at least nine Iranians.

Israel has carried out dozens of strikes in Syria in recent months and been blamed for dozens more, which it has not acknowledged.

Israel has vowed not to let Iran establish a military presence in Syria.

There was no immediate comment from the IDF.

Jordan army clashes with Islamic State militants fleeing Syrian forces
[AlAhram] The Jordanian army said on Thursday it killed several Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. bully boyz who approached its border as they fled a Syrian offensive that drove them out of their enclave in the southwest of the war-torn country.

Army units had used "all types of weapons" to shell a group of bully boyz who had come close to its side of the Yarmouk Valley in festivities that lasted nearly twenty-fours from Tuesday to Wednesday afternoon, an army source said.

"We applied rules of engagement and members of the ISIS (Islamic State) gang were forced to retreat inside Syria and some of their members were killed," an army source told state news agency Petra.

After weeks of intensive Russian-backed bombing, the Syrian army seized the lush agricultural territory where the Yarmouk River flows that was once controlled by a group affiliated to Islamic State group known as the Khaled Bin Walid Army.

Jordan, alongside other Western and Arab backers, had supplied former Free Syrian Army
... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund...
(FSA)rebels with weapons and logistical support to defeat the bully boyz until the rebels themselves were defeated by the Syrian army last month and lost ground.

A Jordanian army source said the bully boyz who fled from the border were then chased by the Syrian army conducting operations in the area to drive them out of their last hideouts.

The bully boyz had sought to take cover among hundreds of civilians camped near the Jordanian border to escape the bombing of their villages during the offensive against the murderous Moslems, an intelligence source said.

The heavy fighting had displaced most of the former 40,000 inhabitants and caused many civilian casualties, this source said.

After the capture of the area, there are dozens of bully boyz from an estimated 1,000 to 1,500 fighters who once controlled the area who are believed to be now hiding in a rugged terrain that separates the borders of the two countries near the Yarmouk Basin, the source said.
