And therein lies a rub. Do we interpret the present world "Insurgency-burdened" condition as (1) One large war with a number of tendrils; or(2) a buncha small wars with differing goals and hierarchies thereof consisting?

The answer to this question chooses a starting point for winnowing means of resistance and/or efficient countermeasures...?

....not going to go snarky on the good General....wonder what he's going thru at home and at holidays....

#2 Its two "large wars" because Shia Iran's global "awakening" is increasingly stirring the Sunni + Saudi global "awakening".

Perhaps we can go Chinese + label it "ONE WAR, TWO FRENEMIES"???

As per WORLD MILITARY FORUM > CHINA = is positioning itself as an EQUAL OF SUPERPOWER US, hence is unabashedly willing to be unilaterally MilPol "aggressive", even "authoritarian/
dictatorial" to its neighbors
in East-South Asia.

All of China's on-going disputes around East-SOuth Asia + USA are linked to the above, not just historicities.
